Delmace Mayo is an impressive, 15 year old athlete from Massachusetts. He practices WCMX, track and field, wheelchair racing and adaptive surfing.

Delmace is originally from Port au Prince, the capital of Haiti. At birth, he sustained a spinal cord injury which left him completely paralyzed from his waist down. He has been a wheelchair user for all his life.

When Delmace wasn't even a year old, his parents abandoned him and left him at an orphanage for disabled youth. Here, he spent the first years of his life. While he was in the midst of a procedure to become adopted to the USA, Haiti was struck by a severe earthquake. This severely damaged the building where he lived, but it also paved the way for him to come to the USA sooner than expected.

After arriving in Massachusetts, Delmace really started to blossom. He surprised everyone with how fast he was able to settle and with the speed in which he learned English.

Delmace always showed a great interest for all kinds of sports, but especially for those that involve speed and preferably even are a bit risky. This has drawn him to the sport of WCMX(Wheelchair Motocross). For the past 3 years, Delmace has competed at the WCMX World Championships. He placed 3'rd in the Intermediate Division in the first year, and 1'st the past 2 years. His biggest dream is to once compete for Team USA in the Paralympics when he’s older.

Besides WCMX, Delmace also practices wheelchair racing and adaptive surfing, for which he regularly travels to California. Besides his many athletic activities, Delmace plays the violin and loves to spend time with his friends.

          The news that Isis was still alive sent ripples through the Empire. She had been assumed dead for so many times longer than the Tok’ra rebellion had yet lived, and the other System Lords guarded what they had jealously from an interloper, even one as recognizable as Isis.

It would only be a matter of time before they all moved: to guard, bargain, petition, or enslave as they saw fit. For the Tok’ra, however, the mission was to neutralize, be it assassination or rendered impotency. The threat of an ancient Goa’uld queen reinstating her position and spawning a new brood was far greater than the fleeting consternation her arrival brought. The System Lords had not yet made a decision on the state of the empire since Ra’s demise, and they did not need another contender to shift the impetus one way or another.

Malek landed his tel’tak, all too aware that he’d committed himself to the monster’s maw with that action. Isis would likely seize the ship very soon with her newly-recruited Jaffa and inspect the contents and attempt to verify the passenger’s claim of allegiance.

Knowing his time was measured, he ducked down to insert the crystalline delmac program into the center console and tune it to the communication sphere he carried in a Ishtar-emblemed pouch at his waist. The cargo ship was loaded with early-stage refined naquadah. Not as valuable or explosive as its weapons-grade variant, if the ship were to nonetheless explode, it would take with it a significant portion of Isis’ resources.

And if it were to not, it would do well enhancing those same resources. Malek would not exactly be assessing making a decision regarding those two options, but rather when exactly the ship ought best explode. It was the bait to the trap.

He stood swiftly and adjusted the high leather of his collar, and then keyed the door release and stepped out to begin the walk to the palace.

“Jaffa, kree!” he barked at the first of that race he encountered as they approached, ignoring the staff weapons leveled at him. He set his jaw and narrowed his eyes. “I will see your Queen, and deliver Her Radiance a token of my servitude.”

Fandom Stargate SG-1 Characters: Cameron Mitchell, Sam Carter, Vala Mal Doran, Daniel Jackson, Teal’c Challenge Day Number: 6 (6/6/20)     Inspiration: A dark morning, an impulse buy led to intergalactic warfare Warnings/Notes: Violence Summary: Vala’s slight of hand gets the team in trouble with the Ori and the Jaffa Word Count: 722 Author’s Notes: For these challenges, I am going to try to keep them all between 400-500 words..             It was a dark morning at the market of Geneya. The storms from the night before had cleared, but they left the grey clouds behind. Mitchell looked up to the sky, ready to be done with this planet and its constant gloom.

Vala and Daniel, however, had both insisted on stopping by the marketplace first. Daniel was interested in seeing what different cultures and wares flowed through their stalls. Vala, of course, was interested in trading for anything of value she set her eyes on.

When Daniel had seen what he could, he pried Vala away so they could start back for the ‘gate, and Mitchell was thankful. He was really looking forward to a shower and a nice nap once they got back.

They were stopped before they could reach the stargate by Ori staff blasts to their right.

“Cover!” he ordered his team. They all ducked behind whatever cover they could find.

“We know you have the gem!” One of the Ori soldiers shouted from a distance. “Hand it over and you will not be harmed.”

“What gem are they talking about?” All eyes went to Vala.

“Why would you all assume that I had something to do with it?”

“Vala!” Cam ducked back from firing shots at the Ori.

“Though I suppose it might have something to do with the necklace I purchased at the market just now. It was so pretty I couldn’t help it.”

“Oh, of course you did.” Daniel sighed, resigned to this idea by now.

Out from their left came a very different sort of shot – the fiery glow of a Jaffa staff blast.

“Aw, what the hell?” Cam let out an exacerbated groan as he turned his weapons in their general direction.

“Give us the delmac, or face your death at the hands of Ba’al’s Jaffa!” a voice came from behind the line of staff blasts.

“Do not attempt to interfere, Jaffa! That gem belongs to the Ori!” There were Ori staff blasts being shot in both directions now, determined were they to leave with their prize. The Jaffa responded in kind, not willing to let SG-1 leave either.

            “How in the world did an impulse buy bring this on?” He was yelling over all of the weaponsfire, ducking behind their make-shift cover.

            “I may not have been entirely honest about how I got this…”

            Daniel leveled her with a look. “You stole that from the market, didn’t you?”

            “It’s entirely possible. Though to be honest I have no idea what it could be that they both want it so badly, it’s just a necklace!”

            “Oh, you know what it is or you wouldn’t have taken it!”

            “It looked like expensive jewels, that’s all I thought it was! I thought I might be able to resell it, get something good for it! How was I supposed to know they were looking for it?”

            Daniel just rolled his eyes as Sam chimed in. “Guys, I think we’re missing the point here! We can sort it out later, right now we have to get out of here.”

            “Agreed,”Teal’c said around shots from the double P90s he was sporting. “What do you suggest, Colonel Carter?”

            “Let’s take it back with us and go from there. Obviously it’s important or the Ori wouldn’t care to bother with us about it. Neither would the Jaffa.”

            “Then we should not allow it to fall into their hands.”

            “Let’s get to the ‘gate!” Cam and Vala rose to fire towards the Jaffa, letting Sam and Teal’c focus their efforts on the Ori soldiers. They covered Daniel as he made a beeline for the DHD, quickly dialing Earth’s address before returning fire himself. One by one, they managed to keep both forces at distance enough to safely make it through the stargate.

            “Close the iris!” Cam shouted as soon as he made it through to the ramp. We watched Landry nod to Walter as he did as ordered. The staff blasts could be heard as they went through the event horizon and made contact with it.

            At least he hoped that was what it was.

            “Colonel, what happened out there?”

            “We got ambushed, sir, by the Ori and the Jaffa looking for a little trinket Vala picked up.”

            Landry sighed, looking exhausted. “Get yourselves cleaned up and report to the briefing room.”
