When i was almost entierly friendless and lost in myself,lesbians and trans women gave me their friendship in the form of kind words,support,defending me,making things for me they knew i'd love,fun hangouts and did and have done nothing but make me love myself in my transmasculine and nonbinary/bigender girlhood even when i don't know them and are the type of woman i relate the most to like i do my fellow black women and i'm now dating a trans woman who was my best friend for a long time and stuck by me through stick and thin and i love them-they are pre op and e and have specifically asked for they/them until they can start their transition-with my entire heart,soul and life because they were exactly the person,the kinda girl i could've used in my life as a bullied autistic tomboy that was getting fucked up without even knowing it and i deeply admire my lesbian friends femme and butch alike for their amazing gender expression and how beautiful their love is and they've said the same about me

hi! I'm very confused now bc I'm newer to exploding my gender. I want to start with I'm afab and until now I believed I was cis. But recently I've been thinking I'm a genderfluid demi girl(because sometimes I feel like I might be enby or a boy), and i Believe that's under the trans umbrella, but because I'm afab, does that not make me trans? I'm really just curious and have no bad intent, I'm just confused.

First of all, welcome to the trans community. Being trans just means that you don't identify as the gender you were assigned at birth, so for example a demigirl who was assigned female at birth can still call themself trans. Although, some nonbinary people prefer not to use the label trans for themselves, so it is completely up to you.

Take your time with working things out, but I am here to support you. If you ever want more advice, just ask :)

starting HRT doesn't have to be a huge momentous all-or-nothing decision. you can just try it like you would an antidepressant you've been informed of the risks of.

there won't be any immediate irreversible changes overnight. you can always stop, change your dose, change your delivery system, decide it's not the right time. you can even microdose if you want to.

you don't have to tell anyone. you don't have to announce it if you don't want to.

stop waiting for a perfect time in your life because it won't come.

stop waiting to reach a mythical level of certainty that never comes to anyone, for anything.

you've been thinking about it long enough. if you have the opportunity, just give it a shot. you're worth the courage it takes to make a change in your life.

By the way you can be as much or as little trans as you want to be. Going all-out with bottom/top surgery, hormones, vocal training, etc.? Super cool. Just want hormones and no surgery? Cool. Just want vocal training? Awesome. Just want to wear different clothes? Still trans if that’s what you want. Want to change nothing at all other than using different pronouns than when you were a kid? If it’s trans enough for you, it’s trans enough for me. Only want to be trans sometimes, when you’re in the mood, when Mercury is in retrograde? Sounds legit to me. All levels of transness are valid.
