There are times I like to let men, the indulgent ones, the most volatile; hang me up by a thick red noose. They’ll tie me to the beams of some gaudy cathedral in the middle of nowheresville. Yet it seems to feel like he is everywhere. Graciously, he allows me to stand upon the priest’s chair; as if I were his Madonna on this gilded throne. Although, I know I’m the whore. In an act of cowardice or chivalry, he covers my face with a bride’s veil. Then he takes me from behind - whispering psalms that sit and ring in my holy, broken, delicate ears.
