The Death card represents a part of your life that needs to come to an end. It will likely happen suddenly and against your will. It can mean the end of a relationship, an identity, a job, habit or anything that may be holding you back from your fullest potential. It might feel wrong or shocking to you when this door closes, but it needs to happen. Don't look at Death in the sense of dying, but instead try to see how this can be your rebirth after the much needed end of this phase.
For the Death card I chose to depict Ed in his blanket fort. We see the scene from Lucius' perspective. Ed hasn't fully accepted that what he had with Stede has ended. He's holding on when all it does is hurt him. The Death card might not refer to a literal death, but it does mean that you need to let go of something and put it in the ground so that something new can emerge. Lucius tells Ed that “Maybe it’s not a death. Maybe life just begins again.” which sums up the essence of this card
I also rewrote Ed's lyrics from this episode into a full song you can listen to it here if you'd like.

Made this after a failed attempt at a psychiatry appointment earlier this year. Awful practitioner, made me give up on the field for 8 months.
But I found someone I like now. He validated my autism and ADHD diagnoses rather than trying to diagnose me with modern day hysteria and give me more or different anxiety meds (I’m already on 4, tyvm)
Turns out what I needed was treatment for ADHD. And now that I got it, this (non) fictional character is no longer having a hard time. At least not with overthinking and spiraling and intrusive thoughts.
But I sometimes forget how unique the show is for the amount of (oddly sexy) man crying it features. I’m fucking here for it tho. Especially the bathtub scene.

Depression-era Ed, but make it happier! Hope y’all are hanging in there. 💕
(And if you haven’t yet signed the #RenewAsACrew petition, be sure to do so here!)
Image ID: traditional drawing of Edward Teach from “Our Flag Means Death”, with Ed wearing Stede’s robe. His face, hair, chest, and hands are drawn in pencil, and his robe is drawn with colour pencils (pink & mahogany with accents of green, yellow, blue, and brown).

not my typical medium, but I have to show off the tiny robe I made for Tiny Stede.
It's the same velvet from Handicraft Palace as my big one, so it's screen-accurate, though it was much too small to line! Instead of orange piping, I did a little chain stitch, and I made the tassels myself. It's also entirely handsewn with a tiny blanket stitch because this fabric LOVES to unravel.
Stede himself was made by my genius friend Anna, and while she doesn't take commissions, you can make your own with this pattern she devised: gentleman pirate pattern

Me today: yeah it's referred to as the breakup or depression robe in the hit show, Our Flag Means Death, which was just canceled for the second time and yeah I'm having a hard time processing it, but thank uuuuuu so much 😘

Finally ordered fabric to make my own depression robe and I don't think I'll ever stop wearing it.
I still don't know if I'll attach tassels or not though hmm.

I was always able to write my way out
The song always made sense to me
Now I find that when I look down
Every page is empty
There is nothing to describe
Except the moon still bright against the worrying sky
My take on depression robe Ed on the cover of Florence + the Machine's Dance Fever album from @epersonae's galaxy -brained post
