Good Morning, RP Tags!

We hope that you all are having a great day! It's an exciting day here at Las Rio, as we are preparing for our first official 24 hours of being open for acceptance! This is so exciting!! With that being said, we have added an admin hour to our early morning schedule, meaning that anything we get after 10PM EST will now be answered between the hours of 8AM-9AM EST. This is only for questions or positive feedback and we will still be updating pages, accepting apps and doing the larger things in the evenings to give us all time to be around. Okay but the way we ALWAYS expect bitterness that isn't there with Desert Duo?

Sure, they snark about each other, but half the time they're giggling while they do it. Sure, they turn on each other, but always with an undertone of understanding. Sure, they avoid- narrowly miss, moreso- each other, but always linger in each others peripheral.

We expected Grian not to ask to team.

We expected Scar not to want to team.

Instead, Grian asked to be partners again. And Scar- he didn't even really say no- ran away only because he HAD to.

We keep expecting some long term fallout, some genuine rejection, some bitterness, but Grian wanted to team, and Scar wanted to say yes, and if it weren't for the eyes on Scar telling him don't, they would have.

Because they aren't angry. They're barely even bitter. Their internal compasses lead back to each other, always. And when they're apart, it's because the game pulls them apart, always.

Why do you think on Hermitcraft- free from the eyes of the cruel death game they sometimes find themselves in- they so unabashedly cling to each other in every moment they can?

hermitcraft s8 got code-attacked and all the hermits got scattered into different worlds, lost and stuck in unfamiliar places, not knowing if their home still exists. the au follows scar and grian who ended up in the same world (although originally unaware)—a world dangerous and hostile to hybrids. grian is an avian, scar is a vex, and they're hunted relentlessly. also, it's permadeath <3

Boatem circus

scar, a sea-lion hybrid, builds a circus as a safe haven for all the hybrids and misfits that have nowhere to belong and need a place to heal. they all carry their own traumas and wounds, and scar gives them what they never had: gentleness and options and freedom to roam or leave. but it's not easy, navigating a growing community of varying triggers and buried pasts.

Sleep demon Grian

grian is a sleep demon, existing in the dreamscape, able to manipulate dreams and thriving on giving people nightmares. he meets scar in a dream, immediately intrigued and amused by his reactions, and he keeps coming back to him. scar, despite all the nightmares being thrown at him, catches a glimpse of his perpetrator, and grows curious in turn. they start talking, everything eventually culminating into a ritual and a summonning circle. grian, in the waking world, needs to learn how to exist somewhere where he can get actually hurt, and come to terms with the fact that he has locked away memories and trauma.

Cursed forest

found family boatem, where each of them carry their own heavy past and an attached curse. they thought they'd never find a place to settle that'd accept them and let them heal. but they found each other, deep in a hidden away forest, littered by bones and flowers, death and hope. Misguided Heroes

scar is secretly hotguy, a hero meant to protect the people. grian is a shopkeeper at barge, but with self-proclaimed king ren wreaking havoc on economy and making life of ordinary citizens so much harder, he decides to secretly play vigilante, cuteguy, and stage a one-man rebellion.

Ari au

grian is ariana giande (ari), a famous singer beloved by the crowds. except things start getting a bit too out of hand. there are stalkers and people who think they have the right to ari's personal life, the right to see and dictate everything. the press gets out of hand. maybe the crowds get too rowdy. maybe—

more scared and overwhelmed by the second, grian gets a bodyguard. that bodyguard is scar. things continue to escalate though, and by the time ari calls a break in her career, everything's irreparably breaking down around grian.

(If it wasn't clear yet, this is one very dark, very heavy, very human story. There's love and so, so, so much despair. Things go wrong and then worse.)

Half sea town au

a town half-submerged into the sea. the upper half is reserved for humans, who are seen as better, richer, the posh and the nobility. the lower half, the submerged part, is slum-like, reserved for seafolk, seen as lesser. many seafolk learn to live on land, to improve their standing (not necessarily living situation; they do need water). mumbo lives amongst the nobility. scar lived his whole life in the sea. grian, even though he belongs to the seafolk, lives on land. mumbo's best friend, forever trying to be something he isn't.

Mm, let's see.

Fuu seems to be the one with a less awful childhood, and heavens know kunoichi need role models, so I'd train her.

I couldn't possibly be the brat's therapist, I'm way too close. Adoption could work, although probably no jutsu I could come up with would keep the grey hairs at bay.

The Kazekage could use a therapist, one he knew could hold her own in case his emotions got out of control, as it tends to happen when dealing with traumatic childhood memories.

OFFSCREEN POST

Lucario steps into the spacious office, built to hold several large pokemon at once with space to spare. The wooden planks creak under his feet as he moves towards the chair laid out for him to sit across from his current employer.

“Nice t’see you again, Milotic. I watched yer evenin’ show tonight. Stunnin’ as always, of course.” 

The jingle of jewelry rings throughout the office as the serpentine Pokémon coils on itself to face Lucario, sending ripples through the water pool which she lied in. Her fanned tail fin raised to slightly cover her face as she looked down at him. “Stunning? I was breathtaking, boy.”

Lucario laughs.

“Right, right. You didn’t call me into town just for me to watch the show, though, did you? You wanted to talk business.” 

“Correct. I have a job for you.” Milotic slowly slithered out of her pool, circling around Lucario like a vulture as she spoke. “An important one, at that.”

He watches her, not taking his eyes off her for a moment. If she’s the vulture, then he’s the hawk.

“And that job would be?”

She craned her neck down to meet his eyes. “My wife and I’s anniversary is approaching, and I want to spoil her like the queen she is.” Her fanned tail fin flicked in the air beside him. “I’m thinking of a beautiful accessory to match my own. But I need the jewels to make it.”

Lucario nodded along. 

“Ah, so y’need me to go on a fetch quest fer it? Where were you thinkin’ of gettin’ the jewels? From Diance?” Lucario raised an eyebrow, still not taking his eyes off Milotic.

“Precisely.” Milotic raised her chin, returning to her poised and regal posture. “Preferably, the jewels should be yellows, whites, and golds to best match her shining scales.”

“Right…” Lucario makes a mental note of that. Wouldn’t want to make a mistake with Milotic’s request. He’s about to get up and say his goodbyes when he remembers something. 

“Ah, before I forget, I should probably mention that I got myself a bit of a partner in crime.” 

The serpentine Pokemon raised an eyebrow at him. “Elaborate.”

“Y’know how things are with the guild up in Harbor Town right now?” He asked her. “I’m takin’ a trip back there, and I ended up pickin’ up someone along the way. She’s a Lillipup. Fourteen, I think? She’s been comin’ along with me.” 

There was a brief period of silence as she seemed to contemplate this for a moment, her gaze sharp as a knife. “Does she know?”

“No. Keepin’ her in the dark. I have a plan, and she ain’t need to know,” Lucario explains, “Which brings me to my next concern. Thievul showed up while we were at Humble Ranch. I think he’s on our tail and could be in Sapphire Town any day now.” 

“I see.” The fanned tail raised to cover the bottom half of her face. With narrowed eyes, she asked, “I presume you’d want us to keep an eye out for him on your way to Diance’s to avoid any… complications?”

“That would be great. Don’t expect him to come into town with your… business around, but outside of the walls? No clue. I should be on my way soon. I’ve left Lillipup alone for far too long,” Lucario gets out of his seat. “Is this all we have to discuss?” 

“That will be all,” she nods, slinking back into her pool. “Fetch me my jewels, boy.”
