Riddle Rosehearts 

The teacup tyrant isn’t the most experienced when it comes to physical affection, or even fondness in general. He probably hasn’t gotten a hug more than twice in his life. When you give him a taste of what love is supposed to be like, he’s hooked right away. 

The first time you convinced Riddle to sit on the couch in his room together, he couldn’t believe how good it felt to be held. He has always considered cuddling to be a waste of time that could be used for studying. He had definitely collared couples he had found snuggling up in public as well, ranting about proper conduct in the hallways and inappropriate public displays of affection and whatnot. But now, he can understand those people who couldn’t wait a single second longer to have their lover in their arms. It takes a lot of self-control not to leap into yours every time he sees you. However, Riddle’s strict mindset can’t be unlearned overnight. It’s practically ingrained in him to worry about the opinions of others, and he won’t do anything to damage the pristine public image he’s built up for himself at NRC.

The most PDA you’ll get out of him is holding hands or linking arms in the hallway while he walks you to your next class, gentleman-style. If he’s feeling a bit bolder, then he’ll give you a chaste kiss on the back of the hand or forehead when saying goodbye. It’s not that he doesn’t want to be closer to you in public; he’s just too nervous to actually take initiative. 

In private, Riddle still holds true to his stiff nature, but he’s much more mild. He doesn’t mind you hugging him tightly or cuddling into his side when the two of you are in a room alone. Normally, he will automatically assume the position of the ‘holder.’ He wants to be your protector and make you feel safe with him, like a traditional gentleman. He loves it when you hug him by looping your arms under his and placing your hands on his upper back. It reminds him of the position used for ballroom dancing, an elegant activity that he associates with fairy tales and true love- intimately close, yet still proper and pure.

The only time Riddle’s rational brain will shut off and his inhibitions disappear entirely is when Riddle is upset. After collaring someone in public, he’ll rush for privacy. When alone, his frustration tends to pour out in angry tears. He’ll immediately seek refuge in your arms when this happens. Please, just hold him close. Let him bury his face in your neck and cry his heart out. It’s quite sad to see, but crying helps him get his stress out in a healthier way than screaming at Ace and Deuce. 

Finally, when Riddle is in a serious, committed relationship, he’d be willing to share a bed with you. It would take a long while to get to this point- he wants you guys to have discussed and laid out plans for a future together before even considering it. Sleeping is when he’s in his most vulnerable state- the fact that he trusts you enough to ask you to stay with him at night is a testament to how much he loves you.

A lot of time and effort would be spent in a relationship with Riddle, but in the end,  you are the only one who gets to hold him at night. And seeing his relaxed face and peaceful breathing while he rests on your chest is all worth it. 

Deuce Spade

In spite of the honors student act and tough-guy demeanor that Deuce tries to maintain, he is so very soft. No matter how much time passes, Deuce will never not get excited and flustered when you cuddle with him, even if it’s just a simple side-hug in the classroom after a lesson. He’ll sit up straight and stiffen, cheeks burning and lips pressed together in an effort not to let out a shrill squeak. If you kiss him, expect him to pull you in closer and hold your hands, gazing at you with wide eyes and telling you he loves you as if he’s confessing for the first time, all over again. It's enough to cause anyone around you to gag on the sweetness and sincerity that pours out of this boy.

Deuce is inexperienced in romance, and pretty shy when it comes to initiating things. He doesn’t want to come off as pushy or disrespectful, so for a while it might just be you who asks if you can hold hands. The more you show him that you want affection from him, the more confident he’ll get at initiating it himself. Slowly but surely your boyfriend will begin to brush his fingers shyly against yours, and lean in just a little closer when talking to you, hoping you’ll get the hint and just kiss him already.

If you ask for a hug, Deuce will say yes, no matter what. He spent years playing the part of a delinquent, and refusing the hugs his mother offered him at that time. It pains him to think of how much that must have hurt her, and he never wants you to feel that way. In a way, Deuce sees your affection almost like a second chance to do things the right way. 

In public, Deuce wants to uphold the image of an honors student. That means no making out in the open. He will want to hold your hand, hug you, and spend moments snuggled up side by side on benches around campus, though. While a bit flustered that someone would want to be so close to him, he’s never embarrassed to be seen with you. He  wants the world to know that you’re together. You love him! … You love him. 

Deuce changes his levels of PDA depending on who’s around, and how comfortable he is with them. Deuce wants to earn the respect of his housewarden (and also doesn’t want a collar around his neck) so he’ll hold off on kissing in front of Riddle. He’ll still hold your hand gently, and Riddle will be able to see how hard Deuce is trying to be proper for you. He can’t fault him for that. 

With Trey and Cater, expect a very shy but affectionate version of Deuce. While he won’t initiate anything on his own in front of them, Cater will probably make a comment that gives him the push he needs to give you the attention you’ve been waiting for. Trey is more subtle about it, but don’t be surprised if he ‘accidentally’ brings one less fork than needed for the treats he baked, so that you have to share one. He might even teasingly suggest that you feed Deuce, if he’s feeling mischievous.

Around the other first years, Deuce is a lot bolder when it comes to affection. Ace and Epel seem to enable him a bit, with their constant teasing, and besides, they already know how Deuce is as a person. There’s no pressure to act proper, so he’ll pull you in for lip kisses and be direct when holding your hand. If you point it out though, he might become shy again and push his face into your shoulder to hide the flush on his cheeks. Please don’t tease him, he just wants to love you. 

Ruggie Bucchi

Ruggie is a bit unconventional when it comes to contact. His main form of physical affection is play-fighting. It’s not unlike the courtship rituals of certain animals that will wrestle and chase each other around before pairing off. Ruggie will take the slightest bits of affection as an invitation to tackle you and roll you onto the couch or bed or even the grass. It turns into a tussle, with the both of you trying to pin the other and make them concede. 

This usually ends in one of two ways- Number one is the normal outcome. You’ll roll around until one of you ends up sitting on the other’s back, with a few bruises to show for the effort. The loser has to buy lunch that day! (It really doesn’t matter who buys the food, you end up sharing all of it anyways.)

Number two is when Ruggie is feeling romantic and realizes that wow, your face is super close to his right now, and that he really, really loves you. Abruptly, the wrestling will stop and he’ll pull you closer to him, burying his face in your neck and giving you a gentle nip. When you yelp, he’ll giggle into the spot- shishishishi, I gotcha now. Even when drunk on love, Ruggie is playful.

When it comes to traditional PDA, Ruggie is as shameless with you as he is with his meals. Doesn’t matter if you’re in class, walking around campus, or straight up sitting on Leona’s bed. He will try to make out with you and no, he doesn’t care who sees. He wants the world to know that hey, he’s yours. You chose him and he chose you. There’s nothing they can do about it, so don’t even try! If you are uncomfortable with the level he goes to though, he will ease up and opt for cheek kisses or slinging his arm around your shoulder instead. 

While not a form of physical contact, Ruggie loves it when you wear the few articles of clothing that are actually his and not Leona’s hand-me-downs. Things like his bandana scarf are precious to him because he worked hard to be able to call them his. So seeing you in them makes him feel like you’ve accepted him into your heart, truly and fully. 

Azul Ashengrotto

In private, Azul has no problem giving you a gentle kiss or two or letting you sit on his lap and lean on his chest while he works out new ways to scam his customers. It makes him happy that you enjoy spending time with him even while doing mundane things. Time passes so much quicker when you’re around. However, when it comes to more intimate activities like makeout sessions, he cannot initiate one without dying inside a little bit. How is he supposed to ask for something like that with a straight face? 

Please run your hands through his hair. He loves it and cannot get enough of it. In fact, Azul just loves being pampered in general. He always wants to be the little spoon when you share a bed or lay down together. Rub his back, tell him he’s handsome and shower him in kisses. He will eat it up like a starved man. 

Azul is suave in public, and very good at hiding his emotions. But even he can’t hide how much he adores you. It doesn’t matter if you want to hug him around the waist in public or nuzzle into him- he can’t say no to you, nor does he want to. He’ll try to deflect the flustered look on his face and stay calm, but he just can’t when you’re so close to him.

Just like Riddle, Azul will have to be very comfortable with you before he trusts you enough to let you sleep in the same bed as him. Azul actually reverts back to his octopus body when he’s exhausted enough- and early on he’s terrified that you’ll be disgusted at his true form. He’ll go to great lengths to make sure you never see it- at least until you get serious. Then, he’ll tentatively reveal it to you. When you tell him he’s beautiful, he’ll bawl his eyes out and squeeze you tight enough to crack a rib. You’ll have sucker marks on your skin for a week after that. 

Oh dear. The octopus escaped his pot again and now he’s clinging onto your leg. Once Azul gets his arms around you, he will not let go for anything. He’s desperate for sincere love and will milk your attention for as much as it’s worth. Indulge him for a bit- he needs the reassurance that you want him as much as he wants you.

⋆ Honestly, Grim’s okay with this one. Sure Deuce is a little airheaded, but Grim likes him a lot more than Ace! (that’s a lie, he loves both of them equally, just too stubborn to admit it) And he knows that Deuce will treat you right. Though, Grim doesn't know much more arguing he can take from the flustered idiot one and jealous idiot two.

There’s so many things he wants to do, so many things he wants to make you feel, because Deuce is so in love it’s embarrassing really. ⋆ Grim is a little on the fence about this one. Jacks a great guy, don’t get him wrong, but Grim doesn’t want to spend his mornings, afternoons and nights working out. Well, on second thought, the image of Grim sporting a rocking six pack kinda gets him to rethink….No, no…he does not want to give up his tuna! Jack will have to pry his box of tuna from his cold dead paws before he lets that happen.

⋆ Second son? SECOND SON? NAH! GRIM’S IS YOUR ONLY SON! He literally gets so offended that you're talking about Ortho more than him. Every little ounce of affection or praise directed towards you little robotic buddy is greeted with an irritated huff and eye roll from Grim. Like did you forget that Grim’s been with you since forever? Grim truly see’s Ortho as a rival/threat, because unlike the other boys who you continuously thrist over, you’re so sweet and kind to Ortho and treat him like he was your kid/brother. It really gets Grim’s gears going. He just wants you to know that he is not above fighting a child, robotic or not, he’s going down.

⋆ Oh, Ortho’s over the moon. The person he sees as a second sibling loves him so much! It makes him so happy. Literally, he thinks he’s dreaming (can he dream?). And omg, this just fuels Ortho to get Idia to confess to you, so you’re all like an actual family. You and Idia can be the parents and Ortho and Grim can be your kids! Ortho has already taken to treating Grim like a little brother, constantly patting his head and giving him treats (which does soothes Grim’s dislike to him by a lot, at this point you think Grim likes Ortho more than you) Ortho does ask if you four could all take a christmas photo together (or whatever the equivalent to christmas is in their world) and he sends it to every one of his friends with really fancy blue and pink glitter gel pen font that says ‘From the Shrouds!’. Sure he knows you aren’t actually a family yet, but he’s sure he can do a little convincing and bam! The wedding is bound to happen!

Sebek + Grim <3

⋆ There’s dead silence from Grim. Like you do realize that you have no insurance right? How the heck are you supposed to pay for hearing aids for the both of you? He doesn’t get it. What’s the appeal? Did you hit your head that hard? Grim’s judging and he’s judging hard. But overall, Grim surprisingly feels bad. All he can think of is that one lyric you scream out every now then by that Rana le Del, um… What was it again? The Other Woman~ and that’s you. He just shakes his head because he knows you can do better.

Girl's night(First Years X Reader)

«This is a terrible idea, groaned Jack.

-It's an Ace idea, corrected Deuce.»

The first years were watching Najma and youbrush each other's hair through the Ramshackle windows. The first year's movie night had been canceled by Najma showing up unexpectedly . Since you had been living in an all boys school, you had jumped on the occasion to spend time with another girl. And so, you had organized a sleepover with Jamil's sister.

And now Ace had just suggested to dress up as girls to enter the sleepover.

«I mean, it wouldn't be hard, Epel already looks like a girl, he pleaded his case.

-I also have a fist that could very much end up in your face.»

So they all thought about it, over and over. It would be wrong, but they really wanted to join the sleepover, especially after they had been cheated out on movie night.

«Alright, Jack gave in. But if anything happens, you're to blame.

-Yeah yeah, sure.»

You opened your front door with Najma by your side. Someone had been knocking on it for about five minutes. What you didn't expect to see, though, was your friends in atrociously pink dresses and loads of makeup. You heard Najma snicker quietly.

By shooting glares at him, you had a silent conversation with Ace:

«What are you doing here?! And wearing that!

-We're having our movie night!

-How stubborn are you exactly?

-Just roll with it!»

Ace was already regretting his decision as you turned to Najma with a smile.

«Oh, I forgot to tell you, I invited some friends from Sage's town to join us. I hope you don't mind!

.The boys followed you to the lounge, their dresses knocking over various objects on the way. You had put matresses all over the floor with colored blankets and snacks scattered around.

They were relievec they were going to be able to get out of the rose skirts. Most of your pyjamas normally wouldn't have fit some of them, but you liked oversized clothes so the taller ones like Jack or Sebek could borrow your hoodies. Finally, when you were all seated, Najma broke the ice.

«So... I don't think I know any of your names?»

They all looked at Ace with looks saying It's you who came up with the idea, deal with this.

«Well I'm, uh, Cecilia, he muttered. This is Doris(he gestured at Deuce) Jessica(Jack), Penelope(Epel) and Seraphina(Sebek).

-Those are interesting names.

-Our mother were a little special.

-Hm.»

Najma and you looked at each other, not even trying to hide your devilish smiles.

«How about we play truth or dare? you proposed.

-Excuse me what? they all shivered.

-Of course! Cheered Najma. It'll be fun!

Now, it was your turn to be shocked.

You brought your faces closer together, closing your eyes. Your lips touched and moved in sync. Suddenly, a loud snore made you jump. Your lips parted to look at a sleeping Deuce. Slightly giggling, hand in hand, you went back to sleep.

He nearly choked as you said the words. Jack pat his back in sympathy. You smiled akwardly, blushin, then started to shower Ace in overpersonal questions.

Deuce had the good sense not to talk about the matter directly, but all this overthinking finally made him hungry. Careful not to wake anyone(a.k.a. he tried to minimise the damage when he tripped on Epel and Sebek), he slipped into the kitchen.

It was a surprise, though, when he found you eating ice cream on the counter and directly out of the box. you both froze as you took conscience of the presence of the other.

You looked at him, then at your ice cream. You gestured at Deuce him with your spoon.

«Do you want some?

-... Okay.»

He took his place on the counter next to you after taking a spoon of his own in the drawer. The silence was akward, and he could not take it.

«Is it true you like me?

-Well yes, why else would I have said it?

-I-I don't know, becasue you wanted to say something to get out of the situation?

-Didn't think you could overthink like this.

-Hm...»

As he processed the confession, his mouth slowly opened. You stuffed a spoonful of ice cream in it.

«I love you, Deuce Spade. Now, do you like me too?

-Y-yes, yes I do.

-Then kiss me.

-Huh?»

You looked at him in the eyes, adorning a mischevious smile.

«Kiss me.»

He blinked slowly. He wasn't prepared for your answer.

He also wasn't emotionally ready to respond to it.

It had been actually a few days before you could get anything out of him. You were worried that because of your confession he wouldn't want to be friends anymore.

At one point, you couldn't take it anymore. You ah to know what he felt. You searched around for him ,and found him lifting weights on the sport's field.

«We need to talk, you announced.»

He let the weights down, sighing. He knew this would come.

«I-

-No, please, let me talk first, he interrupted you. I'm sorry for not talking to you in the last three days. I'm not good with the whole love things, so I needed to sort out my feelings first to not mess things up. I don't want to make excuses, I am aware I probably didn't handle the situation very well.»

You were taken aback by his words. Out of everything, you weren't prepared for this honest of an answer.

«Apology accepted, I guess. After thinking about it, what do you feel?

-I feel warm when I'm with you, and you always seem to brighten up my day. So, I like you back.»

You smiled.

«We could go on a date, then?

-Of course. Monstro Lounge, tomorrow at seven?

-Yeah, I'll be there.»

Akwardly, you said your goodbyes as you ahd nothing else to say. As you left, you felt his eyes linger on you, making your heart flutter.

Epel got up abruptly, making everyone look at him. With an unreadable face, he gripped your wrist and dragged you into the dining room. When he was sure he was out of earshot, he turned to you.

«You really like me?!

He scratched the back of his head.

«But you like me for real?

-Yes. Please stop asking me and tell me how you feel about it! You didn't drag me here for nothing!

A silence ensued, only to be followed by both your laughters. It came and it wouldn't stop. The situation was so unbelievable for the two of you. From the lounge, you heard Ace's voice.

«Are you guys done? We're still waitng here, so stop your lovey-dovey stuff and come back so we can watch a movie!

Once they walk in the room to see your half-naked form, they're going to immediately look away and shut the door without a word. Once they're outside, then they're going to apologize and would proceed to scold you for a looooong time for not locking the door shut.

He's just really worried for you. What if someone ill-intentioned had come instead and tried to peep on you? The thought distresses him so. Thus, he's not going to leave your doorstep until you're either finished changing or until you've locked the door yourself.

(For Sebek, he'd do all of this but would definitely be much louder about it)

Freezes up

Malleus, Azul, Ruggie, Rook

Honestly, they'd be frozen when they see you, I think from both an 'oh crap, I walked in on them and they're nearly naked! 😰' feeling and an 'oh...they're nearly naked 😳' feeling.

Either way, they'd just be staring in awe from both the shock and view of your body. They want to apologize this instant, but they're currently at a loss for words. They want to turn and leave like they know they should, but their body just won't budge. Look, they're not intentionally trying to be a pervert but MY GOSH the gorgeous sight of you just has them completely mesmerized.

It's only until you turn to them and speak up do they finally snap out of it and apologize for the intrusion and leave, the blush and shame clear on their face. (Yet, the thought of you would never leave them for the rest of the day or few 🫣)

Freaks out

Idia, Deuce, Epel, Kalim, Neige

The moment they see your half-exposed body they would instantly go red and run out of the room yelling, "I'M SORRY!!!!", so freaked out that they even forgot to close the door behind them. (Neige probably wouldn't forget, though)

They truly did feel bad about it because even though they saw your body for barely a second, that image of you was now stuck in their minds. The more they thought of your body, the more they would freak out and feel ashamed of themselves.

I think it'd take a while for them to have the guts to approach you without thinking of that moment again. They'd apologize numerous times if they ever did recall it.

Is nonchalant about it

Ace, Leona, Floyd, Che'nya, Lilia, Cater, Trey

I think they'd all of these guys would be calm about it but in different ways.

I feel like Ace, Leona, Floyd, and Chenya wouldn't even really apologize but would be like, "Nice bod, you should really lock the door next time tho" LOL

Despite this attitude, I think they'd be decent enough to lock the door for you on their way out. He wouldn't want anyone else seeing the lovely sight that only he should see, hehe 😏🤭

And as for Lilia, Trey, and Cater, they would apologize, "Ah..! My bad, y/n", and probably lightly scold you as well.

crowley is (finally) allowing you the choice of leaving ramshackle to move to whichever dorm you please, but you’re still unsure which one to choose. knowing that, everyone is trying to win you over.

author’s note : out of curiousity— of the 7 dorms, which would you choose to live at and why?

“so, prefect! tell me, which dorm would you like to move to?”

you froze up. you have to make the decision now? “w-way to put me on the spot..” you muttered under your breath, nervously looking at crowley who was expecting an answer. you like all the dorms! how are you supposed to choose just one?

“i’ll go with… heartslabyul? no, no, scarabia! wait, scratch that, i’ll move to pomefi—”

crowley put a hand in front of you, stopping you from speaking any further. “it seems to me that you’re unsure, but it’s no problem! because i’m so very kind, i will give you as much time as you need to consider.”

“thank you, i’ll be thinking things over!” you waved before exiting his office. the door closed and crowley grinned, spinning around in his chair and rubbing his hands together.

“and i will be informing all your little friends that you’re still uncertain on which dorm to move to— a headmaster must keep himself entertained somehow!”

heartslabyul

riddle is stressed, brainstorming different ways to convince you to come. he totally might just make a powerpoint presentation on why heartslabyul is the ideal dorm to be in, which is gold.

cater is just acting like he always does. he feels no need to do anything extra, isn’t he charming enough as is to bring you to heartslabyul? besides, everyone else doing the most. look at them!

ace “you and me are best friends” trappola. he absolutely exploits the fact that he’s one of the closest people to you, if not the closest. he bugs you about it so much though, it’s kinda becoming counterproductive. not that he realizes it.

like most other times, deuce is dragged into ace’s scheme. and he totally buys that it’ll work too! they have the same logic of “we’re best friends, so they’ll choose us” and they’re gonna die on that hill. of course, until it comes out that you don’t choose them.

trey’s just caught up in the mess. he’s said “riddle, calm down”, “ace, leave them alone— you too, deuce”, and “thank god you’re so chill, cater” so many times.

savanaclaw

leona doesn’t put in a lot of effort— he’s already certain you’re gonna choose his dorm. he’s not overbearing in the slightest, you’re given a lot of free rein, and though other dorm members can be pretty combative, he’ll drive ‘em away if they try to mess with you. it just makes sense that you’d pick them.

ruggie has nowhere near as much confidence as leona does about this, so he’s going overboard with giving you gifts, doing little acts of service for you, buttering you up with praise, anything that might make you gravitate towards picking savanaclaw.

as per ruggie’s request, jack is trying to act sweeter than he normally is. keyword is trying. but he’s struggling real hard— it’s way too embarrassing for him. he just ends up acting like the regular old him. (but the guy is just so likeable, it’s fine.)

octavinelle

persuasion? it’s azul’s time to shine. he’s a master at this stuff, but there’s one mistake he’s making— he’s being so damn persistent and borderline annoying about it! the number one way to drive away customers! unless you’re a fan of that kind of clingy behavior.

but you think it’s hard to catch a break from azul? pfft, he’s got nothing on floyd. there’s hardly any breathing room with him, literally and figuratively. he’s squeezing you nearly every second he’s with you and he’s squeezing hard. you think you’ll have to get your ribs checked to make sure none of them are cracked.

jade just watches from the sidelines. he’s restraining himself from laughing as he sees azul trailing after you as you desperately try to shake him off or floyd tackling you to the ground. when you’re tired of their antics and manage to get away, he’ll pour you a cup of tea (on the house btw), asking if you’re alright. it feels as though he’s octavinelle’s only hope.

scarabia

kalim is basically like, “i don’t wanna sway your opinion, BUT—” he’ll tell you the most amazing things about living in scarabia and how cool the dorm and their members are with the biggest grin on his face. he hypes it up so much it’s sounding like the perfect place.

there’s not a lot left for jamil to do is doing since kalim’s doing pretty much all the work. just to pull you in a little closer though, he’ll flash you a pretty smile and give you more treats (baked lovingly by him) during the day, sometimes reminding you that you could have his cooking every day if you lived at scarabia.

pomefiore

now, vil is sure you already have your sights set on pomefiore— but he is not going take any chances! so he sends rook and epel to spend some time with you. or in other words, advertise their dorm. he’s expecting to see you with luggage soon, asking where their spare room is.

rook is having a field day, he’s probably having the most fun out of everyone here. he’s reciting poems he wrote just for the occasion and practically throwing flower bouquets at you, all while epel…

epel is just chilling. he thinks rook will take care of everything, but no. he freezes up when told by rook to “tell the prefect what you have to offer!” and his brain malfunctions as he tries to put together a poetic sentence. all that came out was, “i’ll.. cut apple slices for you..?” not quite what rook had in mind, but it’s beautiful in it’s own way.

ignihyde

idia is extremely anxious— he wants you to pick his dorm, but has no idea how to convince you into doing it. or even how to make his dorm look like an appealing place to be. he feels like the greatness of his dorm pales in comparison to the other ones, so he kinda just hopes a miracle will happen and you’ll choose ignihyde.

diasomnia

oh, malleus is dead set on having you in diasomnia, you have no idea— he’s pulling out all the stops, pulling so many strings. wins “the most desperate” trophy by a landslide. you just can’t tell because externally he seems so nonchalant. every time he thinks you’re gravitating towards another dorm, he’ll up his game.

everyone’s trying so hard, it’s amusing, lilia thinks. it all looked like a ton of fun, so of course he was gonna hop onto the “winning you over” bandwagon! he’ll recount all the fun stories he and his dorm mates have had at diasomnia! such as studying gargoyles, and training, and the horrific yet oddly comedic injuries had during training… you question if lilia is throwing you off on purpose.

sebek is bugging you whenever he gets the chance, boasting about his dorm. diasomnia is the best dorm all around! not only do you have the pleasure of worshipping the young lord, there’s plenty of fun things to do— don’t mind the dark, intimidating atmosphere! now, why don’t you just go and tell the headmaster your choice already?

silver honestly doesn’t know what he’s doing, he’s just goin’ with the flow. when sebek sent him after you, it was a bit awkward. he just said, “you can protect malleus with us and take naps with me :)” and called it a day.

you let out a groan as you slumped on top of your bed, grim following after you.

“these guys have been draggin’ you all around! they’re treatin’ this like war!”

“no kidding.” you sighed, turning over on your back. “crowley just had to tell them, didn’t he? now they’re all trying so hard, it’s just making deciding on only one of them more difficult. i don’t wanna hurt any feelings… should i just eeny-meeny-miny-moe it?”

ace trappola

When Ace likes you, there’s a lot of back and forth banter and teasing between the two of you. He’s a bit mean, but he knows (or at least, he hopes he knows) that you don’t take it to heart. He likes to talk a big game but Ace is kind of hopeless when it comes to romancing someone. Such a showoff for you.

Because your clubs meet on different days, Ace often bugs you to come to practices. Most times you say no since you use your free time to catch up on studying or to do preparation for your next club meeting, but today’s different and you take up Ace’s offer to watch practice.

There’s a practice game going on when you enter the gym, shoes squeaking against the polished wood floors. Jamil and Ace drive down the court, shouting and dribbling. As you sit down in the bleachers, you watch Jamil pass the ball to Ace, who notices you out of the corner of his eye. He bounces the ball twice and says, “This one’s for you!” Without even looking at you, you know who he’s talking to.

It’s also at the exact moment that Floyd chooses to take the game seriously, crouching down into a defensive position from his previously lazy stand, eyes gleaming with mischief. Ace aims and shoots and the ball, predictably, is blocked when Floyd jumps up.

“Too bad, crabby,” he jeers and Ace scowls at him. Jamil looks exasperated as he throws a look at you that tells you to fix whatever you started.

“Don’t worry, Ace,” you yell. “You’re always a winner in my heart!”

deuce spade

When Deuce realizes that he likes you as more than a friend, he stops being able to function normally around you. He’s dropping things left and right, stuttering and tripping over most of the things he says to you, and he’s some shade of pink constantly.

Deuce never wished for the ground to swallow him whole more than this moment. He’s standing, frozen, in horror, staring at the tea that drips down the front of your white uniform shirt. Now, this problem is two-fold; one, that’s Riddle tea — or, it was — and Deuce’s sure Riddle’s going to have it out for him, and two, he spilled it on you, the person he likes so much and just can’t seem to do anything right around.

Deuce scrambles to get napkins, the force of his pulling causing the container to topple off the table and skitter across the dorm floor.

“Hey, Deuce,” you say and he steels himself for your ire, for you to tell him you never want to ever talk to him, look at him, or breathe the same air as him. It never comes and instead you smile gently and say, “It’s okay, it’s laundry day tomorrow anyways.”

“I’m really sorry!” he finally blurts out.

“It’s seriously okay,” you say. Then, you add, “Let’s brew another pot before Riddle notices.”

“Notice what, exactly?” Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Deuce, however, doesn’t feel the impending doom he expected. All he can focus on is the little wink you give him and his face blooms a bright pink.

jack howl

Because beastmen usually have one partner they’re with for their whole lives, Jack is very discerning about crushes so if he likes you, you’re definitely a special person. Jack tries his best to act casually around you but the excited twitch of his ear and the rapid tail wagging is a dead giveaway. Plus, he puts in a little more effort into whatever he’s doing when you’re around (like Ace, he’s a big showoff around you).

“Are you sure you’re okay with carrying all that?” you ask Jack as the two of you make your way to class. He nods, head still visible over the mountain of boxes. You were running an errand for the librarian when Jack found you struggling to balance the massive pile, swiftly moving to take the entire stack from you.

You have to walk up five flights of stairs to bring the books to the correct section, and Jack does so with ease, the two of you chatting on your way up. You ask about his siblings, watching fondly as he perks up. He asks about your parents and how your grandmother’s health is. You’re surprised he remembers.

“Okay, you can put them down there,” you say, pointing at a table and Jack sets them down.

“Need my help with anything else,” Jack asks, trying his best to subtly puff out his chest.

You consider it for a moment and say, “Yeah, I could use your height.”

Jack resists the urge of his inner wolf to howl proudly, but his wagging tail give everything away. 

epel felmier

Epel can’t decide what approach to take with you, if he wants to try to show you his manliness or if he wants to use his cute charm to win you over. He shows a very keen interest in things that you like — he watches shows and reads books that you like so you can talk about them together and he practices activities that you like so he can do them together.

Epel clutches the novel close to his chest, scanning the crowded cafeteria for you. He bristles when some Savanclaw meathead brushes past him roughly, scoffing like it was Epel’s fault. Epel rolls his eyes, glancing down at the book in hand. It’s over five-hundred pages and between school work and Spelldrive practice, it’s a miracle he finished it so quickly. That’s Pomefiore for you, tenacious to the end.

He finds you as you come in with some of your friends and darts for you. He calls your name and you wave at him. “Hey!” You peel off from your group and approach him, smiling widely.

You notice the book in his hand and gasp, “Is that the new book in the Paladin’s Sword series?”

“Yeah!” Epel leaves through the pages and says, “I really enjoy them!”

“Me too!” You ask him, “Have you seen the movies?”

Epel considers lying (he hadn’t lied about liking the books, he did wind up actually enjoying the series) but he shakes his head. You nod sagely and say, “Let’s watch them together sometime then!”

Epel’s heart skips a beat.

sebek zigvolt

Sebek goes to Lilia for advice on what to do about a crush, and given that Lilia is centuries old, the advice is a little old-fashioned. Sebek walks you to classes and brings you bouquets and gives you secret admirer notes that are a little clumsy and awkward, but so Sebek that it’s endearing.

Sebek watches anxiously out of the corner of his eye as you slide an eggshell white envelope out from your textbook. Ace and Deuce “ooh” and “ahh” and tease you over it, Deuce suggesting, “Maybe it’s a secret admirer.”

Ace shakes his head. “Who’d like this one?”

Sebek’s eyes narrow. How dare Ace believe that you were undeserving of affection? Didn’t he know that you were so special and incredible, second in Sebek’s heart only to Malleus? The audacity! How dare he?

Deuce snickers, “Stranger things have happened.”

That’s when Sebek slams his hands down on the desk in front of him and shouts, “HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO THEM THAT WAY, HUMANS? DON’T YOU KNOW THAT THERE’S ONLY ONE BEING ALIVE MORE SPECTACULAR THAN THEM — THE YOUNG MASTER HIMSELF!”

Well, that’s certainly not how he wanted to confess to you, and his heart sinks to his stomach at the deafening silence in the room. When he glances at you, you’re beaming, and his heart is afloat once more.
