I started this a long ass time ago, but its finally finished now!

The Lords of Hell must assume mortal guises to infiltrate Sanctuary, why? To eat good food, drink wine, and be annoying of course! (This is a part of a Post!D4 AU of mine, which i will not explain right now it’d take too long)

He is a custom size (6,5 inches or 16,6 cm) of "Bite the Bullet's Seraphim of Wisdom.

I decided to go for a Mix between Wisdom and Death hence why he has more purple here. I also wanted to somewhat recreate the light particles of the tendrils so ... fuzzy wings.

Rolled a rogue for Season of the Construct. Neziha is blessed by the swamp and the tree, and has worked with so much poison her blood is probably also lethal. Someday, her head will hang in the branches...

Malthael is real good at this whole sleep thing. Lay down, don't think, don't move. He even figured out dreaming! And...sleep floating? Rathma would really like him to come back to bed plz, his robes were the blankets.

You aren't entirely sure why the angel follows you around. You of all people can't be very interesting; you're not a hero, not one of the Nephalem that the guards whisper reverently about. Not one of the great scholars or priests, not a mage or a crusader, not royalty. 

Just an average person on the street, completely human in every way.

Yet the tall, quiet angel dogs your steps with curiosity written plainly in his body language. He wants to be unseen by others, and so he is - but he is visible in the corner of your eye, silent as he floats beside you, watching everything and nothing. Taking in the world as it thrives, as flowers grow in gardens, as children play in the streets, as the sun shines and the rain pours and the grass grows.

He doesn’t stay constantly, of course; angels clearly have their own work to do, and mere mortals aren’t privy to such efforts. But you grow to miss his company all the same, and relish it when he returns.

You wait until you’re out of sight and earshot until you ask the question that has been in your mind since he started to follow you weeks before.

“Why do you follow me around?” 

The angel tilts his hood, body language broadcasting surprise. His wings widen slightly. And finally, finally, you hear him speak, and you are immediately hooked on the beauty of his voice.

“... You are… interesting,” he says slowly, with careful thought. He crosses slim arms as he considers his answer. “You… do not question my presence, nor pressure me.” The last part turns his tone bitter. “You do not ask where I am going or where I have been. You are… a respite. Warm.” His wings flutter, just barely. “Accepting. You provide me with a lens to watch your world through that is not my own. And…” He trails off, seemingly withdrawing into his shell again. “And…?” You prompt gently, not wanting to push your luck, but your curiosity’s gotten the better of you. “What have I shown you…?”

The angel seems to stare at you. You can feel the weight of his gaze now that it’s fully focused on you. “You have shown me… That your world is vibrant. Alive in ways I had not understood before. Perhaps even beautiful.” He goes silent again, and you smile warmly. How flattering, to have an angel focused on you so much that it changes how he sees Sanctuary.

Malthael

So according to Lorath's texts, Malthael is the oldest member of the Angiris Council.

Also I love his insight here into what drove Malthael to madness. That his Chalice of Wisdom reflected back his own despair at the never ending war.

Malthael apparently created his scythes using emotions from the Pools of Wisdom - grief, shame, fear, and rage specifically. They are also missing, and could potentially be found.

I wonder if he made these scythes recently (so after he had already decided to become the Aspect of Death) or if it was when he was still the Aspect of Wisdom. If so, maybe it was a red flag that the other angels didn't notice.

Idk if I remember correctly, but doesn't Donan say something about Tyrael leaving because he was afraid of something? I wonder what scared Tyrael so much that he left without a word. He ripped his wings off, fell from the Heavens and faced Diablo and Malthael as a mortal.... so I can't imagine just one of the Primes or Archangels would making him act that way.
