Okay, so, headcanons ahead:

Since rise is really creative with it’s characters, I wanted a new creative introduction for Usagi this time, maybe more of a backstory when compared to his 2003/2012 self.

I also wanted to do something he would hate for conflict dksalfjsa

So here it goes

Born a Yokai to a important family that serves the Council of Heads for centuries

Is expected that he, too, would be one of their agents or guards

But Usagi was kind of a rebel and didn’t like that

He followed the rules just enough to not get in trouble, but it didn’t take long for his attitude to put him in a tight spot

Maybe he was caught doing things he shouldn’t, or maybe he was framed for things he didn’t do. Probably both but don’t know what he did exactly

The Council was furious. He was convicted as a criminal and later, one of the city's most wanted fugitives

Part of his punishment was being used as a test subjct with an experimental liquid the Council was making

Usagi wasn’t told what that liquid would, or could do, nor about the intentions the Council had in using it

The result: He was cursed to transform into... a rabbit. A normal one.

Yes I just did that just for plot and because I think he would hate it more than an actual felony sentence lol

Only the same liquid could turn him back, and he would never have the chance, as the other part of his sentence was: perpetual imprisonment. Yay!

Shenanigans happens, he manages to escape

But he’s still a bunny and still a fugitive

While he was being chased, he managed to flee as far away as possible, to the least unlikely place they would look for him, the surface.

Of course they wouldn't risk it, right?

Wrong

With guards disguised with cloaking broches looking for him at all times, he was accidentally found by a human child, who found him ‘far too cute' and so he was kidnapped adopted

A Lilo & Stitch situation ensues, where he takes the opportunity to escape his pursuers

At first, only using the child for his benefit, little by little he realizes that the chances of him returning to his old life are almost none, he starts to get used to the life of a pet, regrettably, of course.

Years later, still having the habit of running away and doing anything he feels like doing, Usagi senses the familiar aura of mystical objects. Weapons, powerful ones

He discovers four strange turtles, neither yokai nor humans

Thinks it has something to do with the liquid they used on him, or "ooze" as they called it

Sooner or later he would accidentally attract their attention, and his owner, who always goes after him when he runs away would too come to find him adn the turtles. After some akward first meeting and finding out more about them and about mutants, he thinks that the best option for him is to stay close to these beings, as strange as they are.

With a friendship forming between the turtles and his owner, it didn’t take long for them to become one of the oozequito’s victims.

Thankfully, Usagi bravely saves them from becoming a mutant by... eating... the... insect

Half an hour later, there's a mutant/rabbit yokai in Donnie's lab, and a lot of explaining to do.

So i have a friend (lets call her tessa). Tessa and i are classmates. She joined our school last year and was the new student. I told her she can sit next to me in all classes and like just join my friendgroup cuz she didnt knew anyone. i have so much to say about riley okay. i love riley. i really feel the writers basically destroyed his character in order to get rid of him for plot reasons. imo buffy’s “distance” in their relationship was way overblown. the text of the show said she was keeping him at arm’s length but honestly i don’t really see it? show don’t tell. season 5 had some sprinkles of an interesting arc for riley, with self destructiveness and feeling lost and such, but they threw in such ridiculousness as the vampire affair thing (which i was never really clear on if it was supposed to be drugs or s*x work) and being SO pissy about buffy’s slayerness. yes make him insecure but i would much rather have seen it focused on him being sad/jealous that she has a mission and a framework and a parent figure that he no longer has. yes make him struggle to adjust to civilian life culminating in him leaving again but don’t blame buffy for it. either that, or make it clearer that she was being distant. because i do think that could’ve been an important point for her character but they JUST DIDNT SHOW IT and didn’t do anything with it afterwards anyway! i mean ok you show her getting out of bed to hunt vampires, you show her being a little distracted because her MOTHER might be DYING, but like. idk if this is a controversial opinion but no matter how many times i watch s5 i just don’t see it, at least not to the point i think we’re supposed to. xander’s convo with buffy in into the woods makes me want to punch him. anyway this got rambly but the point is that i think riley’s character really suffered from lazy writing with misogynistic undertones. he spends the entirety of season 4 being someone that i think the fandom would remember more fondly and listen i’m not opposed to his whole self destruction thing! it makes sense! but they took ALL of his issues and made it about Girlfriend Stronger Than Me >:(. he loses so much with walsh, military structure, faith in government, clear morality of demons bad humans good.. but the show is all focused on his physical loss and it annoys me. anyway i love him and i adore your hypothetical riley & jenny interactions

so i haven't seen season five in like forever which is why i've been so non-confident in my take being exactly like yours, but this ask is so GRATIFYING. like from what i remember of season five, riley was written out in the same kinda halfhearted, cruel way that imo has a lot in common with oz -- it's abrupt, it's not a sendoff, and it's a reason for him to not stay in contact with the scoobies. and like you say, there is SO much interesting stuff that they could have done with riley that just gets sidelined as the show instead focuses in on his masculinity! as though any Normal Man would on principle feel uncomfortable with a girl who's stronger than him, and riley is therefore a representation of that normalcy rejecting buffy. but that take so ignores riley's personal motivations + his potential as a character and i haaaaaate that.

and yeah, it just feels so weird that riley would react to buffy drawing away because her MOTHER IS DYING and be like "you need to handle your grief in a way i can understand." like that is such a horrible move that does not at all mesh with his season four characterization, made WORSE by the fact that the show itself tries to frame riley as the one in the right. season five seems to try and really push this idea that riley was Driven to be terrible because of buffy not being good enough for him, and watching it leaves a rotten taste in my mouth. it makes sense that people would be upset about riley's season five characterization, but i think the ire should be directed towards the show rather than the character.

this is so hard because its such a damn good show so i had to rlly be picky about this but here we go

5. 6x22 ‘grave’- i watched buffy for the first time last year at work coz i worked with one other person just packing shit, and THIS was the episode that made us cry infront of eachother. the scene with willow and xander at the end is one of my all time favourite scenes and like legit we were watching and we starting going like ha.. this is so sad Q_Q and we looked at eachother and we were both crying akdjdjsjdhs its SO GOOD, like this is a friendship ive been so invested in and [seeing xander be able to pull her back from that dark place was so heart wrenching and amazing god its so good]

4. 3x12 ‘helpless’ - im finishing up s2 in my rewatch rn so i havent rewatched this one to double check but i remember loving it man. buffys father daughter relationship with giles is my favourite of the whole show they make my heart ache, so i love that this is an episode that really shows you how dedicated giles is to her, [its the breaking point where he finally disregards the fact that hes a watcher and acts as her father once and for all, its a turning point for their relationship where he is finally embracing the fact that shes like a daughter to him and i just love to see it Q_Q get you a dad who will leave his lifes calling for you]

3. 4x22 ‘restless’ - season 4 is interesting coz it has really good episodes and them some gd awful ones 😂😂 but this one just blew me away, i love a good character study episode and this is THE SHIT! its so weird and creepy but in the most perfect way, its not on the nose its so subtle, it feels like an uncanny valley version of buffy almost, i like that they finished the season first and then took this episode to do something out of the box and different i feel like it lets them fully explore this idea without the pressure of needing plot included. [also the cheese man is iconic. dont however like xander being all nasty with willow and tara but whats new there man]

2. 1x12 ‘The Prophecy Girl’ - for my first watch of buffy i wasnt that into the first season, like i enjoyed it but i didnt think it was anything super special? but this episode changed EVERYTHING for me. up until now buffy had been fun, witty, charming, but not anything new atleast for me, maybe in the 90s it was but right now its your average teen supernatural show. but this episode!!!! the emotion! buffy facing her death, her speech about how shes just 16 and shes scared and she doesnt want to die, that is what i wanna see!! its heartbreaking and it made me cry, and then it gives us the wonderful moment of giles trying to take her place and buffy realising that she has to be the one to do it, man its so good! basically anything with buffy and giles being a duo is gonna make it an automatic yes from me and this is indeed the case for this episode, i just love that the show remembers that shes a child! shes not brave all the time, shes not strong all the time, shes just doing her best and sometimes its overwhelming, 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 i bow to this episode

1. 2x17 ‘passion’ - i know i just sang praises about prophecy girl but THIS EPISODE IS THE SHIT, the best episode full stop. i wont accept any argument. angel is probably my favourite big bad, its so funny to see plain bread, mopey brooding angel become this charismatic, funny, poetic, blood thirsty angelus, hes everything i want in a villain and in this episode he delivers! rip jenny tho love her. i think the tension built around angel is so good, because of his drawings and notes left around, every scene youre worrying like is he here now? are they safe or what? its so tense! and also it is me and im a slag for buffy x giles father daughter moments and this episode fucking delivers! giles discovering jennys dead body is probably one of the best scenes on the show, the dramatic irony is heAVY, we know jenny is dead, we know that these flowers arent from her, but giles is so so happy, and i want to see him happy but you just know somehing horrific is about to happen and damn does it. its a masterpiece! i love jenny and giles so much it is so sad, but also the fact that it gave us that scene makes me almmmoost ok with it? i also love the moment where giles breaks down in buffys arms, hes been there for her and now shes returning the favour and hes accepting it i just 😭😭😭 also on a different note, angels narration of this episode is amazing! it gives us great insight to who he is as “evil angel” and like even though hes awful i was also kind of rooting for him coz hes just such a great villain

17. Which characer do you wish had less of a focus on them in the show?

i dont wanna get yelled at butttttt i dont like the amount of focus on dawn. i think it makes sense for the her first season considering the story arc but that season really does double down its focus onto dawn and buffy and it barely leaves room for anyone else to have a storyline, it keeps the episodes super depressing too its like a constant level of just sadness the whole time because we’re so stuck in THEIR arc, theres no room to balance it out and have a breather, some people might like that its more serious but i really really didnt like, i love episodes like prophecy girl where it is campy and brings the more emotional notes in when the time comes, but dawns whole arc is just constantly depressing the whole time i just hate it, and also just shes not a character i felt i could connect to because of how suddenly shes introduced, so its weird to have her SO focused on in the first half of that season coz we dont know her yet so i feel like the emotional moments dont land the way that they should? basically they shouldve eased us into dawn or introduced her differently and maybe i would like her enough to want the focus on her but i really just dont

In a way it was, after today you will forever be dead in the eyes of everyone you’ve ever known. You stopped existing the moment you were taken here. Any objections or attempt of escape were met with a harsh punishment that led you to the blink of insanity. You felt the extreme need to cry, but you’ve lost the right to. You’ve always been a good person, helping others in need and trying to be as kind as possible. You’ve never regretted your actions, not until it lead you to him. You were helping in a fundraiser. It was for the people who lost their homes to a recent hurricane. You’ve been on your feet since the morning and you couldn’t help but head to the only table with empty seats in it. There’s only one guy sitting in it. The fundraiser was open to anyone who’d donate 100,000 Jenny and more so it had all kinds of people in it , But you didn’t except his type. A strange man with purple batch of hair and needles all over his face. Everyone else was keeping a 5 meter space around him. You never were one to judge so you simply smiled at him and sat in silence. You felt him look at you with the corner of his eyes and you looked and smiled brighter.

“This is one hell of a party ! Thank you for your donation.”

He didn’t respond but stared. You kept talking to at least make the atmosphere less awkward? But you were met with silence.You tried you hardest to stop the shiver and kept talking. He seemed to be watching you intently so he was listening right ? When the host knocked on his glass you looked up. It was time for the toast and you were excited ! Then it happened, he just fell dead to the ground. Everyone was dumbstruck for a moment before the screams echoed through. You turned to the guy next to you to find him simply gone. You felt a splitting headache. Every single corner of your skull ached. Your body gave in as you tried to stand up. What happened to you ?

The headache continued and so was the sighting of the stranger. He looked nothing like he did in the party but you just knew it was him. He was everywhere you looked. Your mind was screwing with you. His blank stare judging and assessing you as you gone about your date. This creepy unsettling feeling wouldn’t go away. Somehow all your debts were cleared, you’ve been offered a scholarship out of nowhere, and your job decided you should work as an accountant in a desk instead of bartending and dealing with drunken men. You knew it was too good to be true. You just knew it. You’re a semester away from graduation so why not enjoy it ? The only draw back to it all was your unsettling feeling of being watched and the sighting of strange people. It wasn’t like the dead eyed stranger who came as a hallucination, they were real people. The only common thing they all had was their clothes. A nice black pant suit. Most of them looked normal enough and always kept their distance when you actually saw them. It was on the day you graduated it all changed.

Needle ? Assassins ? Mind control ? What type of fantasy game were you thrown into ? You’re ashamed to admit it but you were getting used to this life. The life of comfort and luxury.

The wedding ceremony was brief and formal. You’re now a zoldyck. Just like that you’re part of the deadliest family in the world. He escorted you to your shared room and you felt yourself crying on the inside. You weren’t looking foreword your wedding night at all. You were so scared. You’ve barely spent any time with him and now you have to share a bed. Once he opened the door you felt your tears falling as your breathing quickened. You don’t want this. He stopped looking at you confused.

You sniffed and as you felt yourself laughing. That’s it ? His awkwardness and robot like motion were ..... cute ? What is the matter with you ? His hand stroked your hair roughly like a robot trying to mimic the action of humans comforting each other as you started laughing quietly. What is the matter of you seriously? He looked down at you and you swore you saw his lips raise a little

The first few days of your marriage was spent in the most awkward touches in the planet. The way he touched your face , hair , back. The way he put you on his lap or hugged you. Compared to other people who would grow up in his environment with parents like his, he wasn’t bad at all. He didn’t force himself at you, yell, or used physical force. What would you do outside anyway ? Work your ass off to afford decent living as you try your hardest to find a guy who wants to settle down and not waste your time. You’ve got all the money you want and an online ordered husband. Yes he wasn’t like the typical store bought one but it did the trick, and now you’re laughing alone like an idiot. Your husband wanted children, your in laws wanted grandchildren, and you can feel the butlers treating you like glass to protect the imaginary child inside you. Everyone wanted you to have a kid. You never thought of it before but would you ? It would seal your fate forever inside this family. More than you already did anyway.

OOF - sorry I did not see this; but I sure would love to!!! Reminder though, I suck at explaining Characters well lol

Tolstoy is a purebred Turkish Van and lived in the street for only a short time as a kitten. His mother was murdered a week later after his birth and soon Tolstoy found himself being adopted by an old man who raised him and loved him as much as a mother would. Tolstoy didnt mind being a housecat as his owner allowed him to leave the house from time to time. This made him discover the Junkyard and it took a bit for him to be official into the tribe and have friends.

• Tolstoy is a mute (caused by a terrible injury on his neck during his mothers death) and will later become deaf due to his breed

• Due to his inability to speak, Tolstoy taught most of his friends how to sign so they don't have any problems in understanding him - this became more helpful when Tol lost his hearing

• Tolstoy grew a large crush on Tumblebrutus after a few weeks of meeting the other Tom; at first, Tolstoy thought of him to be annoying - this of course was quickly diminished the more Tol accompanied Tumble

• Tolstoy has many friends, but his best and closest friends are - Domoria (@magical-marvelous-mistoffelees), Damus (@your-missing-period), Kash (@incorrectcats), Nouvel, and Palette

• He has two sisters, both from different mothers - his closest is his sister, Rosemary (a Turkish Van/Russian Blue mix)

• Jennyanydots is seen as a mother in Tolstoys eyes and the older cat doesn't mind one bit if he sees her as one

• Tolstoy is called The Tinkering Cat - inventing many new and weird things amongst the tribe. Sometimes they are successful, most of the time they blow up

• Tolstoy and Tumblebrutus later on become mates and adopts Aurora and Bu Xing later

Aurora is a munchkin mix and was found half dead in a pipe during the coldest day of winter. Tolstoy was the one who found her and quickly took her to Jenny to get her properly treated. After everything settles, Tolstoy took it upon himself to keep an eye on Aurora and to make sure she is doing well while she heals. Tumblebrutus heard about what his mate is doing and helped him watch over the munchkin. Both taking turns in making sure she is fine. Later on, when Aurora began to feel much better, Tolstoy didnt wanted the kitten to be left abandoned and asked his mate if they can take her in. This took a lot of convincing and pleading on Tolstoys end, which he barely does, but eventually Tumble wavered and agreed on being the kittens fathers.

• Aurora is known to be very ambitious and despite her short legs, she still wishes to be an amazing dancer like her parents

• Before Tumblestoy made Aurora officially their daughter, there was a lot of doubt from the older cats in the tribe about the two able to properly raise a kitten - as they were still young and new to this experience (Tol was 20 while Tumble was just reaching 22 in human years) . This made Tolstoy doubt his ability as a parent and almost gave Aurora up to an experienced mother. This likely never happened.

• Aurora is always wearing a bow, the bow wearing formed from her papa (Tolstoy) who thought of his best friend, Domoria, as she wore it - he thinks its cute to see his bff have a mini her lol

• She is definitely spoiled by everyone she knows!! No matter how many times Tolstoy and Tumblebrutus tries to make sure that she doesn't get too spoiled, it always fails in the end. She's just got everyone wrapped around her little finger

• Aurora began to learn how to sign language at a younge age

• She usually hangs out with her dads and the other boy kittens

• She is around 4 years, so there isn't much about her just yet

• Aurora has a lot of family; she basically adopted half of the tribe

Bu Xing came into the family a bit later, it was a rough transition for the older kitten but the Tumblestoy family tried their best to make sure that she is safe and comfortable. Before Bi Xing became a part of the family, she used to work underneath other cats who had ill intentions towards the Jellicle Tribe - one of them being her father. It wasn’t a great experience for her and Bu Xing had many difficult nights where she would be afraid of turning back to a doll. So sleep, in the end, never came. Eventually though, Bu Xing enjoyed her new family and loved her new sister who takes great care in protecting her.

• Bu Xing was originally a lucky cat doll before she was brought to life by Merch, a mischievous magical cat who works for a cruel tom who only wants death and mayhem

• The lost arm of hers happened when she was a doll that was mishandled

• Whenever Bu Xing gets her terrible nightmares, Tolstoy would come in quickly to help calm her down by bringing the crying kitten into his arms and staying with her until morning

• Most of the time, Tumble and Aurora would come in a bit later and join Tol in comforting Bu

• Before she was adopted, Bu Xing was mean and cruel - even hissing and scratching at anyone who would pity her. Now though, Bu is shy and a bit kind, but scared of her actions might hurt others

• Bu Xing enjoys her time a lot with Aurora. The two of them enjoying playing pretend, house or even adventures

• She loves sitting on her dad's (Tumblebrutus) shoulders, getting the feeling of being tall

• Bu Xing rarely smiles, but when she does, its comforting

• Bu Xing would be the reasonable one out of a friend group, of course though, she would try not to be too strict on their fun - she wants to have fun too

so after listening to a ton of rpg live play podcasts the thing i think i’ve taken away from it is that the dynamics between characters and character choice and motivation cannot be underestimated ever at all and that you can set up a plot but your characters have to take you thru it and you can’t force them to make certain choices, and i think this is gonna rlly help w my titus reno story--

in making jenny and reno come alive and be equally like, legible for me like titus, i rlly wanted like to figure out how and why they were all originally hanging out and what they want and what their longterm goals are. initially i conceptualized jenny as this sort of punk hermione who is chaotic good and breaks the rules for the sake of justice and benevolence etc but i couldn’t figure out how jenny would get like that or develop those principles in the context of the medical compound and i also didnt find that like, a compelling character arc. BUT i have a new idea where jenny is like, this drug dealer turned accidental but passionate prophet and it has just tied my whole thing together in a way that i hope is gonna help me actually get this stuff on paper+ it also provides a GREAT underlying dramatic arc and a good rationale for the dynamic of titus and reno to work as a couple the way i want it to

so: in this future world, everyone, human and mutant laborer alike, has this parasitic worm living in them that’s impossible to kill which makes people infertile, causes nerve damage, and finally eats your brain, some fifteen years after your initial infection. Because the worms lay thousands of eggs in all kinds of water supplies, most people are infected within a few years of birth, except some hastily quarantined human children. Super secret scientists know the worm is an alien and this fact has only recently been released, but it doesn’t make much noise because at this point there are multiple global crises threatening civilization--climate change that has flooded cities and made agriculture on industrial scales impossible in many areas, total breakdown of all democratic governments, and now almost universal infertility. Pig-human mutants, who had been raised as laborers in dangerous lines of work, continue to be produced even as human mothers fail to concieve; these piggos are taken to be tested on, and each year as more die others are brought in. The scientists are working on trying to find something to kill the parasite that everyone on earth has. 

Jenny’s roommate in the medical compound realizes, through an accident, that the worms release hallucinogenic chemicals when you eat potassium fertilizer. She starts tripping and then begins dealing potassium fertilizer (to which she has restricted access as a specially authorized gardener). When she becomes too sick to continue, Jenny takes over. The position of dealer affords piggos status and power, and Jenny even deals to nurses, without telling them what the substance is. But gradually as time goes on she begins to be curious about the visions everyone has on this drug--because they’re all the same. 

When people take the fertilizer and ingest it and the worms release hallucinogens, people see pretty much all the same thing. they see alien landscapes and waterfalls and a sky with two moons and a distant red sun. It drips and spasms and is intermingled with other kinds of LSD type visions, but in general people see the same thing over and over. Jenny becomes convinced that the visions are a link to the world the alien worm came from, and she starts making all her clients draw their visions in an attempt to catalogue them. At the same time, the visions start to shift, and people start to see weird humanoid aliens, and increasingly, start to see visions of strange vines growing into what look like large organic structures. When, shortly afterward, the doctors announce they have cloned an alien humanoid from DNA left in the asteroid /ship? that hit Earth and brought the worm, and are using this clone to create antibodies to the worm, Jenny realizes that the alien is one of the humanoids from her visions, and becomes determined to figure out a way to contact the aliens. 

Reno is one of Jenny’s clients. He is hooked on the hallucinogen because he likes her sense of purpose but also he likes to escape and draw his visions and feel that there is something in the world besides the limited medical compound and the adolescent power struggles that surround him. He also has a little crush on Titus, who as Jenny’s bff is a supplier for a lot of the dorms and who is, while not very well liked, and not part of any male friend group, semi- respected based on his activities.

Reno keeps borrowing things to pay Jenny with, and his roommate/dorm head Rustler gives him an ultimatum--pay it all back with the fertilizer hallucinogen, or fight Rustler in a public match to settle the debt. It isn’t mean spirited but it’s like an adolescent maintenance of the status quo thing. Reno determines to get the drug and pay people back. 

When Jenny notices some of her stash is gone, she stakes out the shed she keeps it in overnight and she and Titus ambush Reno and threaten him with: knives, blackmail, the suggestion they could alter his medical records to make him look sicker than he is and have him removed to the late-term infirmary, etc etc. Titus sees Reno is genuinely scared and that he also is really miserable to find himself on Jenny and Titus’s bad side, and feels a little proud and excited and drunk with power, and is like, “ok, we don’t have to do all that, but you do need to either work with us and act as a supplier or just tell Rustler you have to fight him and we’ll supply hallucinogens to whoever wins.” reno does this partly bc he wants to impress titus. after he wins the match he asks titus to be his boyfriend, which surprises jenny and titus. when titus realizes reno has a crush on him he is also stoked, proud, flattered etc... though he is initially motivated primarily by lust, self interest and self preservation, and his romantic feelings only really emerge later.

kinda old (definitely need updating they’re from when i was 17/18 and haven’t done much in recent years but nonetheless are my most recent ocs and i would probably like to do something with them someday still):

i had some characters that started out as me trying to draw characters from the book hoot by carl hiaasen but for some reason then turned into my own ocs and looked nothing like those characters were described and also basically had nothing to do with them in personality and action beyond name after a while. - beatrice and napoleon. this was in a phase where i got a ‘how to draw anime’ book and napoleon straight up looked like a yugioh character his hair was ridiculous

those fake siblings i made up and lied to a substitute teacher in kindergarten about me having 6 siblings because of for absolutely no reason even though i only have one sibling irl
