I've gotten a good feel for Tumblr over these past couple months, and this has been a long time coming, but I decided to make a seperate blog where my art and edits shall be directly posted from now on.

All my previous art has been reblogged onto the new blog, and my headcanons shall be present there as well.

The Hands! The Hands! The Hands!

...and other stuff. Meaning AI-generated art always messes up the hands, arms, legs, face and much more that it gets to be very cumbersome to edit everything.

Yes I actually do editing on AI-generated art. Some images, I let loose as-is. Others are just too irksome for me that I have to do something to fix it. And it reaches a point to where I say "Oh eff it...nobody really cares." Or do they? You know there's always gonna be some online troll that doesn't appreciate anything and will say something but they don't know what work or effort goes into stuff that you see online.

I've been working in art and graphics since the 90s. I still have my Photoshop 3.0 box so when people ask me what apps I use, I chuckle. I've been at this for longer than most people have been alive. Really? Yes really.

But here's an example. I have too much stuff on my phone anyway. With all my photography and other online content I create, it just becomes too much at times. Add in my eye fatigue and issues.

Anyway, here's something I put out recently. I was exploring this art style but dang every generation just fumbled at the hands and limbs. This one looked promising. As you can see I had to redraw Wondy's right hand and I had to fix Supes left arm. It annoyed me to no end. There were other little parts that I could have nitpicked and worked on, but I let that loose after fixing the obvious AI-flub.

This is a pretty simple edit. There are other images that I've had to remove mystery figures that showed up out of nowhere. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

And there are tons more where I've had to redraw an entire shoulder, for example, and recolor the costumes because for some reason AI wants to do the opposite and make Superman's cape blue.

So I know there are many misconceptions about AI. I'm sure you probably think that you just write something cute and press a button, and BAM! You're an artist! Whoa! I think I'll just start an IG and get famous. (Oops, pardon my Tongue-in-Cheek Sarcasm).

Creative final project for a Short Story course. I chose “The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I interpreted the story with themes of idolisation and such.

That influenced my process: I chose Markiplier as the “model” because he has a lot of shirtless photos out there so it was an easy find and because he is a major idol \ icon who gets a lot of fawning over. I chose to put a blank spot over the face to represent how everybody has their own sense of “handsomest man in the world” and has their own idols. I could’ve put the words “your idol here” but one, forgot in the rush, and two, thought it would be nicer in a different way to leave it blank. Like that self-portrait with the green apple 🍏. I forgot to clean up the mic wire or whatever it was. I asked the class to guess and my prof thought I might’ve used Jason Mamoa. Honestly, I could’ve because he is very big, a strong icon\idol fawned over, and played a character relating to the sea. Fits the role of Esteban. Don’t know why he escaped me.
