Thinking about force ghost Anakin playing peekaboo with Grogu

Also Din being freaked the fuck out by the idea of a force ghost. Especially bc he can’t see them. The first time things get hot and heavy between him and Luke, Luke is all distracted and glaring into nowhere, goes bright pink when Din asks why he’s glaring into the corner mouthing something - and it turns out to be Yoda lecturing Luke on attachments. It takes a while before Din stops asking if they’re alone in between make out sessions

Or Luke’s last blue milk pudding going missing, and Din blames it on Grogu (bc nobody can ever stay mad at his sweet little face.) but Anakin, who absolutely adores Grogu, and is still of the belief that nobody is good enough for Luke, pops up to tell Luke that it was Din. That he and Obi Wan saw it with their own eyes!

And Din immediately realising what happened as soon as Luke turns to him and glares, arms crossed disappointedly. 1. For eating it. 2. For blaming their sweet, innocent son. When he leaves the room, after being assured that it would be replaced, Din is glaring around the room grumbling about being ratted out

Picturing him sneakily eating it and out loud asking that they please don’t tell Luke. He’ll talk to an empty room, bc he’s mildly uncomfortable with their presence

But mostly, thinking about Anakin dorkily crouched down playing peekaboo. Luke finds it endearing - feels good about seeing a soft side of his father, what he might have been like/what he was like pre-dark side. And Din one day just seeing Grogu giggling and clapping at nothing and being uncomfortable/creeped out as fuck. Like when a cat meows/stares at an empty corner of a room

I love dinluke because every single fanfic basically follows the plot of either Fleabag season 2 or the Sound of Music. Oh, Din’s a wealthy, powerful, and feared aristocrat/king and Luke is his son’s beautiful and fiery teacher? Boom, the Sound of Music. Luke’s a kind and devout Jedi monk and Din’s a mysterious and morally grey stranger who Luke eventually betrays his religion for by falling in love with him? Boom, Fleabag. Like my brother in Christ, every single fanfic writer just copies + pastes these two scripts into AO3 and changes the names.

Just a little something I'm working on...

Luke first met the mandalorian the day after his 18th birthday. Din was on Tattooine chasing a bounty when his speeder broke down. He was lucky enough to break down in the place where Luke often took practice shots at wombats.

"What's your name, stranger?" Luke asked as he screwed in a bolt with his wrench.

When the mandalorian didn't respond Luke sighed and sat up to look at him, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. But we get all sorts here on Tattooine. I won’t judge you."

"My name is Din," The mandalorian confessed, much to his own surprise. He usually refrained from sharing his name, especially on planets like Tattooine, but something about Luke was reassuring. And the strange knowing look in the blond's bright blue eyes told him that Luke would keep his name a secret.

Din couldn't put his finger on it, but Luke was shrouded in a cloud of other-ness. Like something about him was different, or more than meets the eye. Whatever it was, it intrigued him.

"I like it," Luke replied with a smile before he laid down and got back to work, "It’s different."

"So is yours," Din said before he could stop himself.

Luke chuckled, "Yeah, I know. Most people on Tattooine have slave culture names, but mine is distinctly Coruscant."

Din considered the young man with a hidden intrigued look, "I like it," he whispered, mimicking Luke’s response to his own name.

Luke smiled, brighter than the twin suns that shone down on them. Somehow, he knew Din smiled back.

Uncle Owen asked many questions when Luke came back late with a dopey smile stretching his tanned cheeks. Aunt Beru just giggled and smiled knowingly.

I'm finally writing fanfiction again! Of course, it's from a different fandom than the first fics I posted, but I don't write for the sake of making content for people to consume. I write because it makes me happy, and sharing my writing also makes me happy. I don't know when this will be finished and posted on Ao3, but I decided to post about it on Tumblr to see if it's even something people want.

Anyway, I'm super excited about this fic! The plan is to write from before A New Hope all the way to Ahsoka: Season one (maybe, might stop at The Mandalorian: Season three). We'll see how that goes.

Idk what to do with these thoughts so putting them out there

Mechanic!Din, and Luke who, although is an absolute genius with cars/vehicles, on one occasion doesn’t have time to deal with an issue by himself

So he takes it to Din’s garage

But then he sees how handsome Din is and blue-screens

Din: So, what’s the problem?

Luke, gay-panicking: my car

Din: … uh huh. What’s wrong with it?

Luke: it’s broken :)

And Din assumes the pretty blond just has no idea about cars outside driving one (which he’s somewhat doubting even that, at that moment)

And Luke just keeps going back, with the smallest problems, even though he absolutely doesn’t need to. He pretends to know nothing about cars, and smiles and nods sweetly and listens carefully whenever Din explains something (even though he knows it already)

Leia and Han tease him mercilessly about it when they find out
