Had ideas for a few post-arc scenes that I don't currently have the energy to write;

-Ash setting Tama up with a provisional trainer license (basically lets her have Pokemon registered to her despite not being ten yet but she can't do Major Official Trainer Activities like gym challenges, contests, Battle Facilities, etc.) because the Pokemon who've been hanging out with her very much want her to be their trainer. Magcargo's kind of the odd one out since he's only been around her for like an hour cumulatively and he kind of got dragged into this without any idea what was happening but he's still interested because she seems nice. There's some concern about Hoopa staying since he has friends in Dahara City in Kalos... until he points out that Hyperspace Hole still exists and he can come and go literally whenever.

Pikachu officially passes on the role of the Pichu Brothers' chaos wrangler to Absol, in a slightly funny moment where he tries to be all serious about it and put his hand on her shoulder all dramatically, ruined by the fact that he's so much shorter than her that he has to balance awkwardly on his tail to even reach her shoulder (and further undercut by the fact that what he actually says is "they're your problem now. good luck". Also, there is of course much gushing over Gardevoir, Guardeon and Dragaurora's evolutions.

-One of the suggestions for Devos's situation is putting Tonio on the throne, which both he and Valiant are adamantly against because favored by the Muses or not a guy who's been a wandering outlaw and proud of it for nearly a decade is not a good choice for ruling a kingdom in turmoil. Plus having a Songbird as a king would just be weird.

-Kelsie gets Vitality set up in the infirmary and assures everyone that she's expected to make a full recovery eventually, though from what she can tell of how the whole healing flame thing is working it'll take anywhere from one month to three for her to wake up. Then when she's alone she calls Director K to let him know that her reports will be less frequent for the foreseeable future since with Vitality out of commission she's the only medic right now.

-Mr. L presents the completed Meme Suppression Bullets to Jayin, warning her that it will take a few weeks for the virus they're made out of to complete its work. She's not too fussed about that, they'd expected and planned for something like that after all, and sends for her firewalls and their assistants, leading directly into That One Post.

Alyssa exhales softly. She'd managed to keep a steady job for two weeks, which was a new record. Though of course, it didn't last. They dug into her past employment, saw everything, saw she'd been fired from Connected Cosmos Company, and then fired her. Because why would want someone who couldn't keep a stable job?

She flops onto the couch in the small apartment she has. Alyssa was grateful that her landlord was a sympathic person. He didn't require her to pay rent as nearly as often, instead having her do work around the complex in exchange to stay.

But even then she knew it couldn't last.

She rolls over and looks at the coffee table in front of her, vision blurry in her right eye. She rubs it.

"For once, Alyssa, just fucking do what you're TOLD TO DO!"

The searing pain of both a slap and sharp nails racking over her eye made Alyssa cry in pain.

She inhales softly and rubs her left eye before sitting up. She leans forward and grabs the small notebook, and opens it, frowning softly.

Concepts for more firewalls, more programs, and characters. Many she knew she'd never get to make them. Never get to see them come to life and talk to them.

.. God, she missed Chroma, Blaze, Comedy, and Tragedy. She remembers laughing when they chose their names, both from disbelief and amazement. Somehow, someway, she had made life.

Life she so desperately tried to keep from Jayin, but it failed in the end.

Alyssa doesn't remember when Jayin took a turn. Maybe when she first started the company and hired Alyssa? Or when The Cloud's Songbird began rising in popularity far too fast. All she knows is that the Jayin that ran CCC wasn't the same Jayin she once knew.

She rises from the couch and grabs the notebook, stuffing it in her pocket. Walking to her front door, she slips on her shoes and jacket before leaving.

She had to take walks at night now. At least then she didn't have to see the dirty looks given to her by all the people in town.

Walking through the park, the streetlights flicking above head, Alyssa sighs.

She couldn't remember the last time she felt happy, had fun, and smiled. She pauses and lifts her head up, looking to the sky.

Her eyes drift over to the lake not too far. It was winter now.

If she was to jump in.. would the hypothermia take her first? Or the drowning?

She purses her lips. Both were shitty ways to go, but it's not like she could afford a gun. And she doubted she could get to a tall enough building in time.

Alyssa turns her body.

.. would it be worth it?

Should she..

"Hello, Ms. Alyssa."

With a gasp, Alyssa whips around with wide eyes. That did not sound like a normal person, that sounded like someone using a voice modifier or something.

There, from the shadows, a heavyset man in all black with his face hidden and an electronic voice appears. She swallows thickly.

"I am-"

"Did Jayin send you?" Alyssa interrupts. "If she did, then just make it quick."

That stops the man. "..what?"

Alyssa pauses. "Jayin. Director Jayin of-"

"I know who you're talking about." The man holds up a hand. "But what did you mean? Did.. did you think I was here to kill you?"

She nods, frowning. "I wouldn't put it past her at this point."

The two stare at each other before the man speaks. ".. let's move past that for now."

"Please."

He regains his composure. "Well, Alyssa. I'm Director K of The Grid. I've come to learn a lot about you, Alyssa - how you worked for Director Jayin for years, how you were kept in the dark about the true intentions of the company, and your programs, to name a few."

A shiver runs down Alyssa's spine. "How.. how did you figure this all out?"

"It's not the concern at the moment." Director K brushes it off. "What is the concern is the deal I'm going to give you here."

"Deal..?" Alyssa narrows her eyes. Did this dude expect her to take a deal after not so indirectly confessing to knowing way too much about her.

"Come work with The Grid." Director K says simply. "We've been invested in Living Programs for a bit now, and considering you made four of them at once is interesting. You even cared enough to hide them."

Alyssa swallows. "It's not like I could let Jayin just.. use them. They're people, even if they're programs."

The director seems pleased by that. "That they are."

She frowns. "So how do I know you're not doing the same?"

"I can show you."

And he did. Director K showed her.

And despite some hesitancy, Alyssa took the hand outstretched to her, and joined The Grid.

Some thoughts and headcanons born from @k-chips amazing art of AI!Clavell and a more cohesive gathering of my little idea dump there. This gonna be a long one, so strap in.

To start, the meat of my idea from that post (bold is me just adding context now)

It was their (Sada/Turo) invention- the time machine- that got the original Clavell killed. Like they brought our Raidon forward, but during their time back on the surface they realize how much of Arven's life they're missing out on, and Clavell is like "You spend time with the kid, I'll keep researching, when Arven is around 16-17 we can swap spots" but shit went sideways when, while down there with Raidon, the second, feral Raidon is summoned and the game follows the tragedy we all discover.

So, in this timeline, Sada/Turo aren't as obsessed with their research. When they bring Koraidon/Miraidon (just for the sake of convenience, we will be using Pokemon Scarlet as a base as that's the version I play going forward, but remember this also applies to Violet) to the surface, Arven is around maybe 8 or 9 and Koraidon is around the same age based on journal entries mentioning how she "expected one gift of life, and now she has two" after mentioning bringing Kor foward in time, is when Sada realizes she's missing out on so much of her son's life, and that creating Paradise is worthless if it means destroying what remains of her little family.

Enter Clavell: he's still somewhat involved with her research in Area Zero and suggests she stay and raise Arven and he'll work on her research with the AI she began developing, and when Arven is old enough they can swap spots and she can return to Area Zero. She agrees, and after the event causing Kor to be sent back to the Crater, Sada and Clavell keep in constant contact with her and Arven occasionally making trips down to visit.

4 years before the game, the 2nd Koraidon (I'll refer to it either as feral Kor or Rex (in reference to its dex entry calling him the Winged King)) is brought to our time. Rex attacks Kor, and Clavell follows the battle to Research Station 4, the AI giving him updates on the battle. He arrives just in time to see Kor backed into a corner with Rex ready to give the killing blow. Clavell shields Kor, having practically raised it, and is killed by the feral Koraidon.

The AI panics, Kor is injured and flees, and suddenly Clavell stops calling and refuses any suggestions to come visit from Sada. He only communicates via email for a year, and when he finally video calls its to say that if he needs anything from her or if there are any developments in the project, he will reach out to her and to stop disturbing him.

Sada of course is upset by this. Angry that he basically told her to fuck off on what is technically both her and Clavell's research (bc she's probably been working on her research while still raising and spending time with her son), and worried as her friend and mentor has never been like this.

Not sure how Clavell would become Academy Director in this timeline unless Team Star's actions at the school take place a bit before Clavell dies, and just before he's killed Clavell had accepted becoming director, but requested time to finish his work and that Sada be his temp replacement (or something, still working the kinks out on this one)

Anyways, a year before the game Arven- who misses Clavell and is both mad at him for upsetting his mom and worried for his safety- enters the Crater and during this, Mabosstiff is attacked by something (in Scarlet, I personally think it was either a Slitherwing or a Roaring Moon, but the later means that they were lucky to even escape alive, as Roaring Moon doesn't seem to be one to leave its prey alive.).

Game occurs, Sada being acting Director while juggling investigating Team Star, her research, raising her son and trying to help Mabosstiff, and looking into what could have happened to Clavell, who suddenly hasn't been responding to anything despite how he should have returned to take over as Director. She's surprised to see Kor, but AIClavell calls and says that Kor must have missed Sada and Arven and gives ownership of Kor to the player. Sada figures it would be good for the lizard to get experience via your Treasure Hunt and requests you take care of it as it's like her second child.

Game proceeds as normal till Area Zero. Sada joins the gang in the Great Crater partially because she knows how dangerous it can be and she can't just allow 4 teens to stroll in there unsupervised (why Clavell would even request a child enter the Crater is something that bothers her), and partially to see what's going on down there. She's basically bouncing up and down seeing her paradise having been created, but recognizes that should the Paradox mons escape, it would destroy Paldea's ecosystems. When you go to talk with AIClavell at the lab, she stays outside at first with Arven to hold off the Paradox mons trying to get in.

When she finally sees AI Clavell and discovers the OG Clavell is dead, she is in a state of shock. It was her invention, her dream that resulted in her best friend and mentor's death, and that this entire time she hadn't even been communicating with him, but the AI she created to help Clavell.

AI Clavell needs someone to stop the machine as he knows his human self would want the same, but the Paradise Protection Protocol kicks in, much to Sada- who had it as a failsafe should the time machine detect that a Pokémon was attacking it, not if someone was simply powering it down- and AI Clavell- who didn't even know it existed- horror.

I might add more to this, but yeah. TLDR, Clavell stays in Area Zero so Sada can raise Arven, Clavell is killed protecting Kor, Sada is Director instead, AI Clavell battles you.

"Proceed."

"Yes director. Uploading mod... now."

"...Upload is progressing smoothly. Time until Activation estimated at 3 minutes."

"Excellent. Hopefully there are no complications."

Great Sky Island

It's a beautiful morning here among the clouds. The Forest Ostriches graze. The Chu Chus slosh along between the trees in search of prey. The temple's bell chimes, prompting the Steward Constructs to resume their work. And far below, the people of Hyrule stir as well, preparing to go about their days.

None of them have any idea of the madness that is to come.

Far above even the highest Sky Island, a mysterious object appears, hurtling down like a meteorite. As it falls it becomes clear that its current path will bring it down directly on top of the Temple of Time.

Soon enough it arrives with a monumental CRASH, yet the Temple remains intact, with the object simply embedding itself into the flat roof. Said object appears to be a silver flash drive, monolithic in scale, with a strange circular symbol painted in orange on the front. A few moments later, a robotic voice calls out.

"Uploading the latest Spicy Memes."

A wave of blue energy pulses out from the drive, traveling across all of Hyrule in seconds, causing anyone it touches to behave strangely and leaving a variety of bizarre people and creatures in its wake. Not done, lighting arcs out from it, causing the temple itself to glow and then emit beams of light in seemingly random directions. Wherever these beams end, a portal is formed, each with a past version of Hyrule on the other side. One bolt of electricity from the drive happens to graze a nearby fairy, causing it to jitter in place and rapidly shift between various colors while spamming Navi voicelines.

Eventually the light show ends, and the drive's front opens to reveal a man with brown hair and eyes who looks otherwise identical to Link (pre-arm loss) wearing an orange version of the Hero of Time Armor Set.

"Hey, what is up every...body?" he looks around, realizing that he's completely alone, "Uh...anybody home?"

As if in answer, the out-of-control fairy careens into his face, still spouting random voicelines. He's initially freaked out, but quickly gets an idea and ducks back into the clearly-bigger-on-the-inside flash drive, coming back with a video camera and a laptop. Within a few minutes he's filmed the fairy and edited the resulting video into a Carameldansen Rave Meme, which he then uploads to the internet (the digital multiverse's internet. much like SMG8 the technological limitations of living in a medieval fantasy setting prevent him from uploading within his actual universe).

Soon after, a flash of light pulses out from the fairy, and their color settles on a deep blue despite the fact that all of the BotW/TotK fairies are supposed to be pale pink. Their flight has calmed down significantly, and they're not saying random voicelines anymore.

They are, however, still talking...sort of, "WwwOOw tHaAAAAaat zuuUc- IIiiII1!iizzzzthhhhaAat7tmeE33ee?"

"...da fuk."

"HhhOoOolLlLlDddDDiIiIiIiiiIIIIti11111igoO0oddafffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffiIigYYyyiuuuooouuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrthIs outwaitokayisthisrightnotoo f a s t a l m ost got it! Okay, testing, testing, do you read me now?" She still sounds synthetic, but at least now she's coherent.

"...Yeah?" 'the fuck just happened?'

"Sweet. Now, my name's Loni. Who the hell are you and what did your weird-ass ship thing do to me?"

"Oh, I'm MRU1, a Meme Regulation Unit! It's my job to keep the universe stable by posting about all the memes my Command Pod uploaded and protecting... the..." He suddenly goes wide-eyed and runs off, "Oh shit I've gotta find my Anchor!"

Unfortunately, there's a certain problem with that, as he realizes when he reaches the edge of the roof, "Uh...that's a pretty long way down."

"Yep."

"...and it's even further to the actual not-flying ground."

"Sure looks like it."

"...is there like a ladder or..."

"LOL no. Sucks to be you dude."

"goddamnit"

Got an idea from this post:

What if Alyssa ends up catching the attention of The Grid? Cause like, being invested in Living Programs is their Whole Thing, and they'd likely be very interested in someone who ended up making four of them at once and cared enough about them as people to try and protect them from her company.

And given her past with Jayin she'd probably initially be put off by them, especially since for whatever reason Director K decided to personally look into her and went with the "Nick Fury appears from the shadows" recruitment method, which of course backfires just a bit since a random heavyset dude in all black with his face hidden and an electronic voice showing up out of nowhere and revealing he knows way too much about you does not work as well as Samuel L. Jackson with an eyepatch doing it.

(Yeah, despite being the mysterious leader of a secret organization K's kind of an overdramatic dork.)

But, well, it's not like she has anything left to lose at this point, and given what she ends up seeing of just how well The Grid treats their own digital agents, she just might have everything to gain.

YESS.. YESS. I like that a lot hehehe. Alyssa would definitely be on edge, just ready to deny and denounce the offer until she's shown how well their programs are treated, and she caves almost immediately. Every day she misses her programs, and really, she'd do anything to get them back from Jayin. So she takes the deal with only a hint of hesitation.
