I have not forgotten the draft regarding "How I would write Clouds Leave No Trace", it still lingers its still there
Im still thinking about how my least favorite parts are Yanqing's characterization, The way the world around Jingliu treats her like she's normal when clearly she's not, The way there's such an effort into putting Yingxing and Dan Feng on the same level of guilt for every single thing that it makes Blade's desire for revenge feel nonsensical and out of no where when he has good reason for it, The way that they don't do more to play up the HCQ's dynamic especially in the normal areas thus making caring about their tragedy a struggle if you haven't done all the "prerequisite reading" (even tho the quest should make the players care more and want to read instead of requiring the opposite), The way that they literally mention Bailu and Blade crossed paths but never show us that scene DESPITE all of the importance placed upon Baiheng and Yingxing's friendship, Did I mention My Massive Problems with my boy Yanqing's characterization in this quest versus what we see of how he's affected both before and after it?
Oh and of course, to mention Jing Yuan not really feeling like he has as much significance being in this quest despite being apart of the HCQ and Jingliu's disciple because yet again, they especially don't do enough to develop on screen (but also not enough in the readable text too) his connections to the rest of the HCQ (which in general if you ask me, makes it a lot harder to be that sad at the moments they clearly want us to feel sad for him over the HCQ)
I could go on and on about the problems of Hyv not fully giving the audience a reason to care for the HCQ's tragedy by the way they are barely shown on screen, shoving it all in readables and character stories and relic lore. Even their legends get barely any screen time to build up to when we hear about the fall out.
Also again, not kidding about Jingliu and the world's perception around her. She is described solely in the beginning as bringing a chill to the room, but she's clearly very intimidating, if you ask me she seems very clearly unstable as well and yet when they waltz around in a populated area with no attention getting drawn to them or suspicion or anything. I also call Massive Bullshit on Bailu being like "Wow but she seems so normal and kind, there's nothing about her at all that could make me think she's marastruck 😲!!" When if you ask me, that whole scene could have been used in a much more meaningful way to make a connection between Bailu and her resemblance to Baiheng Specifically in a way I will further elaborate on in my full post about it BUT YEAH Jingliu deserved so much better with this quest, so so much better
And even just small details get me like Jingliu leaving first from Scalegorge Waterscale, then Jing Yuan, Yanqing and Ren leaving? Like if you ask me, let Jingliu leave with Jing Yuan and Yanqing like they're escorting her (idc about any "She was already turning herself in!" There are a number of reasons to be cautious, not solely of her, and keep her in their view) and then talk to and have Ren leave last.
I am still thinking about it, that post still haunts me daily, I have grown to like the quest but my problems with it are so strong and so clear that it's like AHA I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT
haruka and takane are literally said to be experimented on but we never know what exactly happens to them and rly they didnt Have to get experimented on to get to where they end up on, just killed. but also its so much more fun to imagine they do get experimented on. my hc is since their red eyes case is kinda unique the experimenting bit also plays a part in the way saeru cheats the system to get 2 snakes out in 1 day. cuz technically ONE snake should be out by killing two people. for 2 snakes to get out you’d need 4 people!!
also something i never got is HOW is ayano able to open the daze by herself and keep one snake when it’s supposed to be when 2 people die. all 3 of their cases are a little ridiculous or i just personally dont get it. i take pride in understanding kagepro but ayano’s thing is something i never quite got lol. HOW DO ALL 3 GET A SNAKE IF THEY DIE ALONE(?) i thought maybe the daze opens for ayano bc haruka and takane’s deaths already opened it that day?? we dont rly know if ayano dies before or after haruka and takane after all. erm. 1 million thoughts in tags like always
Do you think they should’ve went more in depth with discrimination and loneliness garth feels in Atlantis?
I would absolutely love that, yes! When it comes to Garth, there is a lot of "fill in the blank" stuff that is inferred and mentioned, but not often shown. In an ideal world where Garth is DCs Most Special Boy, I think it would be fantastic to be shown a more in-depth look at those aspects of his character and more situations in which it occurred. Garth is a prime character for emotional angst, and although I love him, I always want MORE.
geist, angie, and adam are the trio of ruining their romantic relationships [not bianca though, if someone gave her the chance she would actually be the best]
the thing is. I've said many times that it'd probably be better if I didn't post on here so much, especially when I'm not doing so great. it does not feel good. but. when I don't, it just all stays inside my head and it feels so much worse for far longer, so I really just don't know how I would cope without this.
I don't mean to be a bitch, but walkable cities actually already can support Edge cases where people need for to door transit, like anyone saying that "communists need to not ignore the disabled" are like reading a sentence like "we should get rid of cars" and not understanding that actual city planners still make cities capable of supporting light car traffic, and some Tumblr user who's just venting about how terrible America's infrastructure is not exactly going to say all that every time they post. walkable cities are way better for all disabled people, because a large amount of disabled people can't drive, and good public transit allows them more freedom, and the few that need to be driven specifically, are able to drive through the city with no traffic congestion. I do agree with the some disabled people just will not be able to work no matter what, and yes of course they should be supported by the collective a person doesn't have to have a "use" to be worth supporting. NotJustBikes talks about this on his YouTube channel
Hi. As a disabled person I think it's really funny you come and tell me what's best for all disabled people. Especially since I'm related to and friends with multiple disabled people who live and work in these so called 'walkable cities', who all claim that they're not accessible to them at all. I can give @undeadcorvid and my actual literal wheelchair user father as an example.
That being said I do understand city planners are trying to change things. but to use your own phrasing here, a disabled person venting about how they're once again being ignored and silenced with regards to public planning isn't going to mention that every time they post.
I've spoken about the accessibility of walkable cities and public transit several times. Because I am fucking disabled. You are literally ignoring disabled people's comments right now.
oh the places we would be as a society if people stopped saying 'this thing is fake and stupid because it doesn't work for me/doesn't apply to me' and acknowledged that things can work for others even if they don't work for you (your experiences aren't universal dear god when will we all learn that just give alternatives without bashing something)
