#does this au make any sense?? no no it doesnt

Oh lazyveran the fire squad is HORRENDOUS!!!! I love it. Please, elaborate on Azula's particular role in and thoughts on this awful little smorgasboard. Does she feel conflicted about how Katara is changing the dynamics? Dies she even register anything changing? Whats her relationship like with Zuko in this au. What does a day in the life of the squad look like and what does it look like to Katara, who isnt steeped in decades of intricate rituals. Please
genuinely gives me such joy to make them so awful. terribly terribly nepo babies that will ruin ur life. long rambles below cut hehe
SO! azula is. well she doesnt think there's much wrong with it. i mean, on an intellectual, psycho-analysis level she knows ty lee is a insane, mai is also insane and her brother is [redacted]. but ultimately she doesnt see anything wrong with any of their dynamics because she has LITERALLY no one else as reference. the insane social isolation azula went thru as a child soldier and ozai's fav little nuclear bomb means its difficult for her to parse out toxic or harmful relationships she may have and ultimately, use and utility comes first in any relationship. the fire squad are simultaneously her most trusted confidants, her closest companions, people she'd entrust with her life and legacy and the weight of her father's, and later iroh's, missions to AND assets to be used, strings to be pulled, and loose ends to be monitored. plus she wants to gossip with them. shes the princess, it's her agni given right to bitch and moan abt the peasants!
azula's mindset is all layers of fucked, basically. im aiming for a vibe in which azula herself has no idea how she really approaches and feels for her friends. its emotionally complicated, azula is horrendeous at understanding that kinda thing. the fact that she's so hyperaware of her position as royalty means she locks herself desperately into that role and doesn't allow herself to go beyond it. that implies a distance between her friends she halfheartedly attempts to keep. but the bottom line is that she's insanely loyal because they invest that back into her. azula's a woman who values devotion above all else. she's desperate for it. You Have To Stay. Everyone Else She Loved Has Left Her. STAY. FOREVER. to do so will be to assist and witness her eternal glory and the shining legacy she will deliver to the nation. she will elevate them to the greatest heights, reward their loyalty tenfold!!! JUST STAY. DONT LEAVE HER. NOT LIKE THE DEAD ONES AND THE GONE ONES-
(also, azula is narrow minded in a sense. she understands people implicitly but believes her own personal goals are the Ultimate Ones. everyone wants power, glory, legacy and the love of a nation. they have to, right? why else would she strive to achieve them, if it's not the perfect pinnacle of all human endeavour? she wants to reward her most trusted friends with what she percieves is the ultimate prize in life, so does so from this weird half distance as a princess. shes really weird. her love language is probably acts of service (and all she knows how to do is kill))
azula and katara's relationship is awfully complicated. for a start, azula presumes domination within the relationship. it's sort of something azula just. takes for herself. as her nature, and because katara isnt initially someone she wants to dig her claws in to force them to Stay. she fully expects that she will simply have some new woman near her sometimes and she'll get on with Important Work with the besties. then katara KICKS HER ASS, FORCES her to look and see katara as someone equal, someone worth respecting and listening to. ultimately she does come to respect katara, and that unknowingly starts to change her. as in, azula gets bullied into it. repeatedly. and getting frostbite that one time. and in her draw towards katara, azula begins drifting from the (not at all realised) dependency on her squad and more towards katara. because she has an equal! and thats!!! azula never really thought she'd HAVE one! katara is her WIFE, there's no presumed distance to keep!!!!! so she gets super duper obssessed with that. she wants to eat katara alive, she's enraptured by this woman.
so.. the worst siblings ever... zuko and azula were alone in the palace with only each other for years after ursa's disappearance and azulon's death. it made them so tremendously dependant on each other. azula believes that her brother is the one thing she can protect, wants to save, is her final piece of family and something good and there's no one else, NO ONE else. HE HAS TO STAY. it's very intense. the fire siblings trust each other implicitly and convince themselves that they're going to be stabbed in the back by each other. they're tied together in blood and want to kill each other and constantly butt heads and argue and contradict each other. and they're the united front of the last of ozai's line. the only ones who understand what it was to be a child of ozai and ursa. azula wants to bite zuko's head off and zuko constantly wonders if azula has been sent by a dark spirit to bring endless suffering to his life. true terrible siblings that would raze a country to the ground for the other, then slide a dagger into their back while they watch it burn.
their day to day life is a little boring, really. ty lee flits in and out of the palace on whims. if court is fun, she'll go. if there's a gala, she's there. if its boring? she'll leave to some FN island for a month and a half making connections, meeting nobles, being entertained, probably picking up a WEIRD hobby and/or romantic partner for a week. she sends a bajillion letters back abt her travels - that azula diligently reads and that mai dgaf abt and gets the synopsis off of azula. then ty lee returns, and rinse and repeat.
mai is officially a political advisor, representative of her father and close confidant of the princess-general azula. in reality, she fucks around the palace pursuing whatever she wishes, and conducts a very very terribly obvious affair with zuko that half the goddamn nation knows about. she's happy coasting along, dipping her hand into politics and national affairs every now and then to keep up apperances, and acting as a spy for azula when she wants to. they have a nice little setup.
azula is quite literally busy from sun up to sun down. she's got one billion projects constantly; ranging from political, scholarly, artistic, so on. she manages her own little spy network, she manages half the nobles in court, she micromanages the nation's finances. she's so insanely busy, and thats how she likes it. she always has time for tea with mai and training with zuko somehow. and zuko is much the same. he's never alone in a room, and always has a pile of work to get through. as the crown prince he's heavily involved in all flavours of meetings and consultations. he usually leaves the noble shmoozing to azula, though. he hates them.
they all work together pretty cohesively, since they were born and raised into these roles of nobility. katara was. not. katara absolutely, desperately DESPISES the fn royal court. no one tells her fucking ANYTHING about the tiny intricate sublties. its all very ridiculous to her. the stubborn, proffessional distance everyone keeps with each other is the worst of it for katara, who grew up in a very loving community that has no issues about physical or emotional intimacy. it's terribly lonely. she's stubborn enough to keep bashing her head against the wall trying to work her way through it, bc she refuses to be excluded from the halls of power of her new life. she's also kind of upset that despite being married to azula, she rarely ever SEES her, hardly gets the chance to know her (and connect with the one person she's allowed to have in the endlessly lonely palace halls). azula is simply so absorbed into her duties (and avoiding katara) that they only glimpse each other in their shared quarters. to katara's irritation and mai's distaste, those two seem to be the only people who see each other regularly. its really not a fun time for katara. she stumbles and makes mistakes and it's only then she ever gets to see her wife - and it's always azula's ire that she gets to recieve. toxic yuri.....
SO. thank you for asking abt this. i hope my complete word vomit makes a lick of sense. i adore talking about this au. peace and love on planet azutara

Oooh do go on about raven neil and jean 👀 (if you’re so inclined ☺️) - @neil-jostenminyard
*chanting* raven Neil raven Neil raven Neil (and lots of Jean) (quite possibly even jeaneil) (although most of the thoughts are post-ravens lol)
So my personal thoughts about this are also mostly thanks to chats and inspiration/prompting from @jtl-fics and @greenautumnleaves so if you see any additions from them on this post it's most likely also thoughts I adore lol
Anyway this got kind of long so:
I ALSO latched onto Sakavic's statement that Neil wouldn't leave Jean in the nest bc yeah it makes sense and also ow
But just the two of them being partnered up like Riko and Kevin as is common in these aus, and then after Kevin gets out first, they have to stick together and rely on each other even MORE because Riko is pissed that Kevin is gone and probably takes it out on the next closest two idk
But in our imaginings, Renee or Andrew get Jean out quicker than in canon, again because Neil would refuse to leave Jean behind and I can only imagine he'd go so far as to trick or manipulate Jean into leaving. Maybe by being at a certain place at a certain time to get picked up, however he can make it happen. But the issue we run into is that once that's done, what the hell would Neil have left at Evermore, besides Exy that maybe he still loves deep down. But Exy's been so warped being raised on it at the nest that at that point his obsession is barely recognizable.
Kevin might recognize this, because he knew Neil in the nest. Or at least he knew the person that Neil presented himself as. But it's probably more likely that Jean recognizes this, and yeah things are super rocky and weird but Jean can barely even function without Neil. So back a fox goes to rescue their second raven's partner.
They bring Neil back to Palmetto and he and Jean are completely inseparable. Emotionally and physically. Neither of them act like, feel like, or even call themselves "touchy feely" or "clingy" people but as soon as Neil is treated for various intense and mysterious injuries, they're curled up in some hidden place for hours. Even the short time having left Neil behind made Jean almost too anxious to leave his room. Even the short time without Jean - now with more punishment for aiding Jean's escape - was enough for Neil to consider something drastic.
(side note: Andrew now has not one, not two, but three gorgeous tragic boys under his supervision and I'm sure he's handling that totally normally lmao. But it's so obvious to him that Jean and Neil have something going on that any ideas for himself aren't worth entertaining.)
So it's a little easier to ease out of various habits and thought processes because Jean and Neil are doing it together, with outside help. They fix their sleep cycles/rhythms, try a slightly more normal college diet, and most slowly lose their "win or die" mindset in practices. They're still never seen without each other - Wymack had a talk with some of the school board about their schedules and dorm arrangements for the first semester. In reality, he's not sure if he should have them go cold turkey on raven habits or if he should take it slower, but he's doing his damn best to get these boys adjusted to life outside a cult. And Neil and Jean, whether or not they actively realize it, find that step to be the one they absolutely cannot take. Why would they go through the agony of learning to live separately if they don't have to. When no one else understands them like the other, when they've already seen each other's worst so nothing else is worth keeping secret between them. Who else is Jean going to go to when having a better life makes him feel like he more deserves death or punishment and the guilt hits him so hard he can't breathe, much less sleep. Who else is Neil going to go to when he can't let go of his birthright - if he isn't good at what he does (Exy) he literally could just be shot like a lame horse - and he's not allowed to go practice Exy against a wall to the point of tearing himself apart anymore so he forces his feet away from the court to find the only person he knows he'll listen to when they say no.
Kevin, of course, is keeping a close eye on the two, whether unintentionally or on purpose is unclear. Neil still has a mouth on him, he sometimes plays mind games with the foxes like chess against himself, and most of all does not allow anyone to get too close to Jean. Jean is still quiet, having learned not only to take a punishment without resistance but also that Neil will speak first. Neil will resist so Jean doesn't have to. He's safer in Neil's shadow.
Maybe it's a phrase or warning that Neil uses and that Kevin recognizes. Maybe it's a gesture between Neil and Jean that Kevin oversees. Maybe it's just the general demeanor of the two. But whatever it is is familiar to Kevin, not in a "I remember this from them in the nest" way. He can recognize by now that Riko was not good to him, he can acknowledge it even if the rest of him hasn't caught up. He looks at Jean in Neil's shadow and remembers himself in Riko's.
As if Butcher's son Nathaniel Wesninski wasn't already scary enough on his own.
But Kevin won't allow this kind of thing on his court, and he's not good at it but he is still trying to let go of unhealthy raven ideals. If Neil is holding onto some fucked up dynamic, Kevin is going to put a stop to it.
He pulls Jean aside, a miraculous feat. He asks what Neil has done.
"Mistake" might be an understatement.
It could very easily be the longest string of words Jean has said to anyone besides Neil. Kevin doesn't know near as much French as he does in canon - Neil is the one that shares that secret defiance - so it's all clear English, Jean making sure Kevin understands every word. Kevin should never speak about Neil that way again. He knows nothing about them, he shouldn't so much as pretend to understand Neil. Neil is the only good thing that ever happened to Jean. Kevin never cared enough to bring it up in the nest, so he has no right to start caring now.
It isn't great for their already tumultuous relationship. Kevin wonders for a bit if Jean would tell Neil about it - then next practice Neil doesn't even try to work with Kevin, even after the two had made it a point as strikers to figure out how to. He ignores the other strikers entirely, falling immediately and seamlessly into perfect synch with Jean behind him, speaking hardly a word of English the whole practice. Because he knows that will make Kevin even more angry than Neil being actively hostile to his new teammates.
Kevin isn't sure what he was expecting. Chances are Jean hadn't even needed to bring it up for Neil to notice something was off.
As for Andrew, I think he could still pick up a game of truths. He'd need to offer a similar deal as he did for canon Neil, this time for Neil-and-Jean, the entity of the two of them together. I think he could ensure some cooperation by saying he won't force Jean and Neil apart from each other the way some others have muttered about doing. Even if Neil knows by now the codependence isn't healthy, neither of them are ready to give it up.
It probably really throws Andrew to hear that they don't consider themselves to be an item. They're together, sure, but for a raven that doesn't always, maybe even rarely, means "in a traditional relationship". Neil and Jean definitely never offer any clarification. That's no one else's business, even if they could explain it so that a non-raven could understand. Generally I feel like if this is an andreil universe, it's an even longer, stranger, more winding road to get there than in canon.
I'm almost CERTAIN there's more Im forgetting about rn but this has been my taster on raven Neil+Jean, I hope it was at least a little bit coherent, and greenautumnleaves - I hope this comes anywhere close to your galaxy brain ideas on these two lol. Maybe I'll be back with other thoughts later who knows

alpha ghost and alpha soap smell omega reader’s very first pre heat. she was a late bloomer (whatever age you want that to mean that’s above the age of consent) and has just barely started to feel her first heat coming on when these two alphas just snag her right off the street. it’s the literal nightmare scenario she was warned about and is just freaking the fuck out when they get her to their place, despite how softly they’re speaking to her, how they’re bringing her all the soft things to nest with and how they haven’t touched her aside from carrying her around
seeeeee you get it. this is fantastic and i loooove it.
in my head it was either exactly this or an omega who thinks she's a beta, doesn't realize she's gone into pre-heat until ghost and soap get their hands on her. takes her a minute to understand, but when johnny growling about an omega in her hear she pieces it together
you're sooooooo scared. absolutely terrified. and they know that, so they're trying to not be as scary. but it's hard!! they're alphas, and on top of that they're big alphas. but they gather every conceivable soft thing in their home, give you the shirts off their backs, and just sort of... wait you out.
they're not trying to fuck you (yet), just took you home with them so they could when you start needing it. so you're just sitting on their naked bed (naked so you can nest however you want!) and staring at these massive men blocking the door. you could beg all you want, cry and whine and plead, but they're just gonna keep telling you that they won't let you go, that they'll take care of you when you need it
and you're so scared. just unbelievably scared, not at all ready to go through your first ever heat with two strangers. and that sort of launches you into your instincts, forces you into heat faster. a blessing and a curse :(

i always consider the final moments of hellbent to be the climax of the series, they were definitely presented like one, or at least the relationship between arthur and lewis because at that moment lewis. hated arthur. lewis HATED him to drop him off the cliff. and sure it wasnt justified and he snapped out of his revenge trance soon after but he. HATED. arthur. and thats not it theres just a lot of emotions being thrown at once in this scene IVE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT IT BEFORE the fact that the gangs entire, tragic situation had to escalate to such a degree that lewis would feel something like that. everything in those moments felt so FINAL despite being in the dead middle of the plot. just put yourself in either of their shoes and just. doesnt it feel like so much, dont you just wonder? what was arthur thinking as he fell to his death, staring up at lewis' shrinking image? what was lewis thinking when he revealed himself to arthur, consciously loosening his grip on him?
i know that by definition, the climax should probably be the fifth and final video, at the most tense moment. but good lord

ok well what if. i swapped luke and asch. for my time travel au. just at the very end.
#.text#tales of the abyss#listen okay i have some thoughts about it.#mostly in that i think that luke had it planned for a while. to the point where he mightve told jade in advance.#that if at some point the next day in hod. if luke disappears and does not come back. do not look for him.#because i think luke is probably thinking. he has had the chance to say goodbye. but asch has not. and he doesnt want to take that away#for a second time. so he thinks hes doing asch a kindness#whereas asch thinks hes being cruel. like for all theyve been able to make up over while they were trying to get to that point#i dont think asch is capable of understanding luke while in such stressful situations. he acts like he thinks calm under pressure#and maybe he is calm Enough that he knows what to do and how things will end. but that does not change how he actually acts.#and the whole point of the time travel au is that they learn to understand each other. and for asch to understand himself.#and i dont think he'd be able to fully understand luke without a) seeing how his friends react and talk about him#in a setting that isnt The Middle Of Battle or after the events of akzeriuth (ie high stress situations)#b) being given the chance to live longer than him in a situation where luke decided to switch places.#like i truly think the tower of rem. where luke first decided to switch places and die in asch's stead. is when asch started to Understand#am i making ANY sense#anyways its also because there is meaning and symbolism to it (duh!!)#because there is no mystery epilogue man in this au 🫶 he is gone they are both gone. they got their chance to come back#and they used it as wisely as they could. and they got to live. if only for a little bit longer.#oh im remembering. luke's body disappears when he dies. asch is going to disappear into the core alone. nvm au cancelled#wow isnt that symbolic. asch is alone yet again. thumbs down#i know the order of their deaths and especially how they die have meaning (asch dies for luke as luke almost died for him.#he extends his newfound trust into luke as his final action. etc etc) (and luke only getting to be close to asch once hes dead)#but thats already happened and both of those things get to also happen again over the course of Redoing History#as you do in time travel aus#momentarily considered having luke live after the fight with the knights but tbh i dont think either of them could have won that fight#like they are both actively dying. the only thing holding luke together is sticks and glue. and asch is in pain 24/7.#there are dozens of well trained knights fighting with the intent to kill. and they were alone. either of them would have died then#if they fought together it would be different but there just. was not any time#it was too late. and also i ran out of tags goodbye

because ive drawn naielle in a naval coat im now struck with imagining how she and florian and zimri actually fare in a navy.
and like, i already know how naielle would fare. she's faring. she generally obeys orders, keeps to her spot, would work her way up slowly over time. she's fine. in canon she has a nominal captaincy but im not sure that, in a "proper" situation, she would get that. i think she'd be a perpetual lieutenant type, only afforded captaincy over prizes, which i guess is technically what happened, so it works out!
floooorian. floor ryan. big issue off the bat - canonically hates boats. very much not a fan. its not that he cant swim - he demonstrably can. It's the distance from the shore bit. A river, okay, fine. the ocean? fuck me. so he's ill disposed for the navy as a base. that thusly ignored, how he ends up factoring into a naval hierarchy depends on when we're talking.
florian c. the start of the campaign? ???? seamen, leading seamen at BEST. he's just doing the hard work, he's grumpy as fuck about the entire thing, he's rough. he's not a commander of any kind, so being 'lead' would be by dint of longevity of service at that point.
florian v. now?? 1.5 years in? well. he's got potential? he'd be the sort of guy that maybe is respected by the crew, and DEFINITELY not by his superiors, because the mans actual knowledge is low, book learning in the toilet, but he's solidly reliable. he knows the bits that 'matter', for a given definition. he's got a decent tactical head on his shoulders. he performs well under pressure (unlike, say, Naielle). im not sure he'd get up into warrant ranks, and i think his lack of book knowledge would prevent him getting above midshipman. i dont think he'd mind. At his best, he'd be the guy who gets well commended for his work during a boarding, but flunked the lieutenants exam so horrifically (despite demonstrable effort) that promotion isnt even Considered. acting, at best.
Ziiiimri! zimri! i think that zimri would be the one to get highest in rank. competent, cool under pressure, intelligent - zimri could get high in the ranks. but only if they wanted to. which is the difference. the only way you get Zimri to step up and take initiative is to make that the only damn option. They're otherwise pretty content to be lead, to operate within orders. so, yknow, kill their captain and first lieutenant and zimri will make an effort to step up. another failing of zimri is a general... low empathy? which isn't a bad thing per se, serves them well in the thick of battle because they don't get stopped in their tracks by tragedy, but in the aftermath they come off cold and uncaring. not their fault - they just don't express it well. but i feel like that'd sit poorly with crew.
its all very loosey. now if you put them all on the SAME boat, fuck. how messy that gets depends entirely on when each of them joins on. for instance if Naielle joins first, she can safely and quietly ascend to lieutenant without worry. ditto for Zimri. really, the key here is florian, because florians attitude could impact either of them.
florian would probably be annoyed to serve under naielle and content to serve under zimri, because the latter is i think base line more competent, and their no-nonsense nature suits florian perfectly fine. Naielle's big bleeding heart and worrying would probably be insufferable for him (zimri wouldn't care), and the two would probably end up butting heads. it wouldnt escalate to a usurpation or anything - naielle is competent enough to prove WHY she has the position, so given the opportunity she would show that, and florian would have to begrudgingly respect it. the alternative way she gets him to shut the fuck up is if she actually pushes back on any of his shit, instead of just hiding behind pulling rank. like instead of going 'thanks for your input, mr de kasimir, i didn't ask' going 'mr de kasimir, im sorry, but youre fucking wrong.' THAT he'd have to respect.
zimri would very much be just like. off side. going :) fascinating.
im basically imagining like, zimri and naielle are both lieutenants under some other person (zimri probably the higher ranked lieutenant because of Reasons), and this entire matter with Florian just becomes a thorn in naielle's side. theres a whole plot spooling out there. 90% of it arises from the fact that most of naielle's strengths are things that happen behind doors - navigation charts and the like. plenty of time for florian to bristle under her style of leadership, to try and go behind her back to talk to Zimri, who is utterly uninterested in the matter and tells him to drop it. and then so it goes. im not going to get too deep into this but it would be funny.
i just think imagining my various ocs together is fun. naielle and florian absolutely do not get along At All. Florian is infinitely capable of coming to respect Naielle (both in this au navy context and like, In general), and Naielle as well, but Naielle would not like Florian. they simply do not vibe. She's too polite and emotional and whatever, and he's a kinda surly jackass. the command relationship would work out fine enough, i think they could work together okay, but like. personally? no, right.
especially doesnt help that neither are ever quite completely emotionally honest, both dealing with some Backstory Situations they refuse to elaborate on, so theres like. no way to build that connection. canon, anyway. though in a navy context both of them would Appear To Have run away to join the navy, and the fact they HAVE that shared backstory element and DO NOT use it to form a connection? thats comedy.

thinking abt my botw au again. thinking abt calamity link and being tied to someone who has completely been lost to the malice and hatred and cycle of reincarnation to the point where you are also being forced to lose yourself to the cycle of malice and hatred and death looping because youre just an amnesiac who wants to exist but cant Just Exist because you are also the hero of courage. and you are also a monster no matter how many times zelda’s voice echoes in your ears. and these two things have to co-exist because you LITERALLY CANNOT DIE until ganon is dead because ganon wants you to kill him and end this except its never going to really end itll just be over for the three of you as you are now.

actually "happy ending" cals both living on earth c or whatever dont have seperate bodies. I don't like it.
#it stresses me out to all hell man#species swap aus too -_- but only smtimes. cus i have au/oc idea but it is... silly#its jus human born troll lliope yk the works maybe a bit like guardianstuck#anyways they have dif bodies obviously#but thinking about the cals as relatively canon compliant characters. i dont think them being in separate bodies is like. the move.#idk it jus makes me uncomfortable#like whats the fucking purpose man#if they gotta deal w each other they gotta deal w the whole THING man#its jus how it is#so like if ur characters that are 'sharing a body' happy ending is that they no longer have to share a body i think that is objectively#the less awesome decision. first of all. body sharing fiction is fucking awesome man.#and secondly i think. its nice to have fiction that doesn't say that its always better to seperate from this person youre like legit#sharing a life w. ya know. especially when the work itself directly opposes the idea that its the inherently better choice#for a character who DOES want to have their own life [their own body]#and i think if you were specifically going to explore caliborn with this is mind and how his entire existence is defined by calliope#and him dealing w the consequences of his alleged 'predomination' and jus having his own body now ig that could be. a good thing to explore#ill prolly think about that later lol#but if were talking most basic 'happy ending' outcome w both cals intact#theyre sharing a body guys cm one#idc it doesnt make any sense its rhe works#i am a nonsense speaker. dont listen to me. ok.

if youd like, would you talk about why you read kabru as autistic? i see some overlap for him with his masking and obsession with studying people, but nothing stands out to me that doesnt feel better explained by his cptsd. im autistic myself but i feel like im missing something other ppl are getting from him and id like to understand that perspective more
ive already answered this before but it’s more of an intuition thing. if you have extroverted, very social autistic friends, he may remind you of some of them. but heres text from the manga that stood out to me
Tumblr media
he had a hobby of observing adventurers that came to the tavern his mother worked at way before the incident happened. so his fixation on humans and anatomy isn’t caused by his trauma, rather it was something he was always interested in
Tumblr media
any then after the incident, he was mostly asking milsiril about cultures, languages, anatomy, etc.
it’s even possible that he knows kuro’s language, even though utayans consider kobolds aggressive and unapproachable, because he was genuinely interested in learning it as a kid
he’s a foil to laios, is it’s really easy to infer that his interest in humanity is as unusual as laios’s interest in monsters. he’s self aware, but sometimes his self awareness doesn’t account for the fact his friends don’t see his behavior as normal
but anyway yeah outside of his special interest, it’s mostly intuition. it’s hard to explain… there’s some stuff that are ultra small details, like his favorite food being plain tomatoes. in modern AUs he’s mostly seen wearing t-shirts and comfortable coats like laios, whereas other characters have a diverse wardrobe
it’s kind of like… he knows what traits come off as autistic, so he tries way too hard to avoid them so he doesn’t seem autistic? does that make sense.

Svt as tropes
seventeen as tropes
content: crushes, fluff, some of these are idol!aus (as in the member is an idol, not reader), etc.
wc: 884
a/n: these are just tropes that come to mind when i think of each member. i tried to keep it varied and original <3
masterlist
seungcheol -
enemies to lovers - he seems like he can be maybe a lil bit cocky at times (with reason, i mean have you seen him ..), so i think itd be possible to start off the wrong foot with him. he's also pretty stubborn, so pair with him another stubborn individual and you have a dragged out love story that begins with rivals and ends with a very fiery relationship.
jeonghan -
coworkers to lovers - jeonghan seems like an extremely charming and interesting guy who doesnt even have to try. im 100% sure people who work around him fall for him every single day. i think he'd be very entertained by the idea of crushing on a staff member/coworker. it would make him look forward to work and make him always seek you out while on the job.
joshua -
childhood friends to lovers - he seems the type that would keep a special someone in his heart for a very long time, even if it was just as friends. leaving his home country so young, the distance would make him realize his feelings and end up with that one special person from back home.
jun -
arranged marriage - okay not exactly arranged marriage but more so him being with someone his parents introduce him to! he seems to be a huge family oriented guy, so i see him ending up with someone his parents may have thought would be perfect for him. it'd start off as him giving it a chance to please his parents but ending up actually falling for this person.
soonyoung -
sunshine vs. grump - this concept isnt necessarily 100% black and white to me. but still i think maybe he would fall for someone who has a very contrasting personality his very positive and over the top demeanor. he'd enjoy the back and forth in which he'd act ridiculously to get his s/o to react while they pretended to be annoyed by him.
wonwoo -
long distance - idk if this is a trope ?? but i think wonwoo's love absolutely transcends any and every obstacle imaginable. i think he would be the definition of distance makes the heart grow fonder. he would cherish every single moment he got to be with you, constantly yearning for you any second he was away from you.
jihoon -
opposites attract - as someone who seems to keep to himself a lot and is a bit of a homebody, i think he would easily fall for someone who got him out of his comfort zone and got him to discover parts of himself he didnt know about before. would adore an s/o who was louder in nature and livelier, feeling some sort of nurturing sense in him come out whenever he was around them.
seokmin -
friends to lovers - its a classic for a reason! i cant understand how people dont constantly fall for seokmin but im 100% sure that if he had a crush on a friend of his, he would easily be able to charm them enough for them to reciprocate the crush. there would be a period of time of that cute back and forth in which he tried to 'court' them, ending up together in the end.
mingyu -
chance encounter - watching nana tour ive loved seeing how insanely outgoing and likable by strangers he is so i think that he would be the type to incidentally meet a person and subsequently fall for them. however, mingyu is a hopeless romantic so he wouldnt allow for this to be his one and only meeting. he would go to hell and back to reconnect.
minghao -
language barrier - ok ik this isnt actually a trope but i really do see minghao taking interest in a person who doesnt speak his language. i think that if a foreigner (in this case someone who does not speak korean or chinese) caught his attention, he would not be deterred by the language barrier and still seek them out. he would maybe even be more intrigued by the concept of communicating despite the barrier.
seungkwan -
found family - seungkwan is one of the sweetest and most likable people alive. im sure there's tons of people out there who consider him part of their found family. i think he'd be the type to become super close with that special someone (to the point of considering them as precious as his own family) only to eventually fall for them (and have them fall right back bc i mean its boo so how would you not fall for him!).
vernon -
class difference - i really see him falling for someone who's not in the industry. just someone who is an average person with an average life. this would obviously come with its complications, but i think he would enjoy the contrast between your lives and would live a regular life through your own.
chan -
mutual pining - contrary to popular opinion, i believe chan has insane rizz. however! i think he would be the type to have negative rizz when he has a crush on someone. he's still impossible to not fall for though, so this would lead to him and his future s/o to pine for each other for years, not realizing that their friendship could be more if one of then would just step up and confess.

for your "Eveline in back AU", why does she almost call Mia mom??
OK REAL QUICK!
this is my view on mia and evelines relationship!
i do NOT think they could have any sort of comfortable relationship after the events of re7
if u have a different opinion thats ok but dont get mad at me!
i think they would both hae a lot of conflicting feelings about what happened, mia a lot of guilt and regret and eveline with a lot of bitterness and resent
i think mia would blame both herself and eveline for what happened to the bakers and ethan and she would feel very guilty, though she does know that eveline was a source of a lot of the pain and violence, i dont think she would be able to just adopt her as her new daughter in my eveline is back AU which is why despite the fact i plug really any ship i want into that AU i have trouble making comics/drawings where the main ship in it is mithan
i really just dont think they would be able to comfortably live with each other, they relationship is too strained and broken, i really dont think mia would be able to just get over the fact that she was imprisoned for 3 years and forced to try and kill her husband by this little girl and then ADOPT said little girl
it just doesnt make sense to me 😅
giving eveline a second chance is a fun concept to explore but it wont work with EVERYONE
as for the reason eveline almost slips up and calls mia "mom", thats because i belive that despite the fact mia made it clear that she did not want to play a part in evelines "family" she is STILL like the first person eveline imprinted on. she still wants that perfect family with the mom and the dad but she knows she cant have it and it makes her really bitter and angry. she wanted mia to be her mom and do things the way she wanted and be a happy family but its so complicated and it really frustrates her
