Now some stans of the wee woo show who allegedly support representation keep starting in with their cheap shots and their disdain at Destiel, the spn actors, the spn writers, and at Destiel shippers. Who...pretty much they would be the Destiel base if not for the twist of circumstances they got.

Oh, deliberate queer coding because the network said no and they're going to do it anyway even if it can't be openly confirmed?

Being accused of being insane? Of "baiting themselves"? Of falling for "queerbait"? Check and check and check.

They aren't that different from the Destiel base and they know it.

Sometimes I realize how much I've had enough of this whole situation.

I was watching an interview with Chris,a pretty recent one. I was enjoying it until this whole situation came to mind, and it instantly ruined my mood and the whole vibe.

It's not about him being in a relationship, and it's not about the age gap at this point, but rather the person he is "dating" and those people who are connected to his "girlfriend". I believe he is the person we've seen him be in the past 20 years. Not a perfect human, but a good person, and Alba and her friends embody everything I thought he was standing against. I don't care about him being "taken", I never did and never will. He deserves love and deserves to be loved. But this isn't doing it to me. I just can't imagine how he would be able to be okay with everything they've done and said, the way they behave, and how they troll the fandom.

We used to enjoy content. Now all that we do is analyze every single one of his words. We're looking for signs everywhere and trying to connect the dots, which can sometimes be exhausting. We can't just sit down and watch an interview with him, or we can't just enjoy it if he posts something, because most of us just analyze the pictures and the captions. I know, I know, nobody forces us to do so, but it's kind of stuck with those people who've been here since the beginning, and I feel like it will be really hard to get rid of it.

The hate that's been going on is also crazy. Sending death threats, wishing others deaths, or telling them to unalive themselves just because they have different opinions is disgusting. At this point, some people just want to be right, and they would do anything to prove their points. Making up fake scenarios and sightings, sending fake info to DM or blogs, saying they speak to someone who knows him, or that they have something so private and personal about them.

It's sad we've gotten here.

Hi hello, I've got a question, what that heck happened this week?? I haven't been active in awhile and I just logged back in here to follow an artist from tiktok, and I happened to see the conservative discord server screenshots on my "your tags" section. Is possible to get the sparks note version of what happened? (Sorry if the ask sounds weird, not very good at putting my thoughts into words)

Sorry I only answered this a few days later! You might already know what's happening by now, but in case you didn't I'll give you a TLDR:

- Tumblr user alasse-earfalas makes a post on LU's main tag advertising a conservative christian LU / LoZ server. She claims to want a safe space for those with similar views. What really catches people's attention is a part of the post that speaks about "Pride ideology" and how such "predatory" views aren't allowed in the server. In the same section she talks about wanting a space where characters are not "queered into oblivion." The vibes are utterly rancid.

- LU fandom immediately begins spiteposting. Everyone and their mother starts making LU queer headcanons or posts showing their support for the queer community. The memes flood in. "Queered into oblivion." is immediately reclaimed and added to people's lexicons. People are speedrunning how fast they can get banned off the server. There's almost a unanimous effort to make fun of bigots.

- Further controversy ensues under the surface. As it turns out, several religious people in the fandom had been interacting with Alasse and other people in the conservative server. It was impossible to know whether or not they shared similar views, but you can't blame people's caution. When questioned whether their blogs were safe for queer people, some gave very vague answers that pretty much dialed down to "I love everyone" or "I don't wanna talk about it." Neutrality in such instances is not reassuring for queer people, especially when the other side is claiming we are predatory. Afaik some people have redacted their statements or gone on to further clarify things. But some people still take a firmly neutral stance on the matter. (Don't ask who I haven't been following closely enough to know).

- A few days later Alasse comes back with a follow-up statement addressing the server. She pulls a mix between "gay people I respect VS gay people I don't respect." and "I'm not homophobic I have a gay friend." By stating that the server is not homophobic, but simply does not support the pride movement. Which is allegedly pushing to show porn to kids in school. When asked for a source on such a shocking claim someone on the server cites Fucking Matt Walsh rather than a non-biased and or scientific article. The transphobia also pops out when she claims the pride movement is trying to push surgeries on children (It's not. Children do not get gender realignment surgeries. You can find this out from five minutes on google). Addressing "queered into oblivion." Alasse goes on a rant about "queerwashing" characters, stating the Links are canonically straight and making them queer invalidates their identity. Alasse conveniently forgets that Nintendo has never canonically given Link a partner. She also forgets that bisexuality, asexuality and other sexualities that may include romantic attraction to the opposite sex do, in fact, exist. The rest of the post is whining about people joining the server to troll and basically just her reaping what she sowed for advertising on Tumblr Dot Com.

Aside for further outrage and memes, that's pretty much where we're up to so far. Things are dying down and hopefully the bigots will keep to their own corner and or fuck off from the fandom entirely.

when he was confessing to noah or whoever, he got overheated and sputtered really super duper quadruper hard (like a silly engine) and had to confess on a more cold day to keep himself maintained

sometimes he feels absolutely awful for literally no reason.. when he does feel bad, he targets one person to hover close to and just sticks beside them until he feels better/gets distracted (he usually sticks around optimus or noah but if you're lucky you might see him stick around with you!!)

ok so I watched the new trolls movie anf !!!!!

Tbh I liked the trolls since the first one and I didn't know if there was a fandom. I didn't watch the second movie bc life got in the way and I forgot abt it lol. But seeing fanart of trolls om tumblr made me watch it and its so cuuyytttee. And as an animation nerd, I love the textures and the way things move.

Some things I also noticed;

The fandom gives the trolls paws and tails!!! Loveee that I'm using it if I draw fansrt.

The ship name for branch and poppy is broppy??!!!! Thays adorablleee omgg, made me actually smile when I first read it and connected the dots.

Always, but it takes me time. I used to be very secluded, still am sometimes, and it took me effort to reply to comments and build relationships and community. I don't want to lose that. It's also important to me that readers understand how meaningful even a single comment is. So yeah, every comment, I try.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Alright, so there's a lot of contenders for this one. I'm not even gonna try to list them off.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably either Interlocking or What Grows in Winter? I don't write a lot of 'happy' endings, I would say. Mostly I write endings that have either hope or closure, and that can come in a multitude of emotions, but those two fics are probably the most light-hearted of my works so I'm going with that.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Sure, but honestly, not nearly as much as I expected. I've never really gotten someone trying to get into an argument with me. It's really just those one-line trolls that mass comment on a fic out of nowhere with stuff like 'Die parasite' or whatever.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! I can actually say that now, lol. It's semi-recent for me, I guess. Considering how long I've been writing, at least. At the moment it's just het smut, but who knows what the future will bring!

Nope. Dislike crossovers, actually.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of.

I honestly can't answer this. Like... honestly. But the two couples I've spent the most time actively writing for would be Jon/Sansa (Game of Thrones/ASOIAF) and Storm/Wolverine.(X-Men), so there's that.

It'd be between Rocks and Shoals and Sheparding Men, but I'm more hopeful that I'd return to Rocks and Shoals. Both are Mass Effect fic.

Characterization and emotive language.

Setting and exposition, for sure. Also, paring down a scene, lol.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've thrown in a commonly known phrase or two, but I don't like it being used regularly. There's too much variance on how to show translation in fic, and I find it often breaks the pace of the piece trying to do so, anyway.

Oh geez, thinking back, probably Xena? Though that was unpublished. First published fandom would be X-Men.

Damn, that's hard. But I'm probably going to have to go with Reckoned from One Midnight to the Next for the way it changed my writing style going forward. Perhaps the most formative of my pieces. Close runner up would be A Violence Done Most Kindly though, since it's also pretty formative for me in how I tackle plot now, and I'm really proud of the intricacies in that one.

More context for my posts: the invalidation and belittling about Destiel from bitter accounts in the Destiel lane didn't begin after 15.20. There's a history to this.

From S12 through most of S15, there were Destiel shippers who mocked and denigrated Destiel shippers who noticed the increasingly loud queer coding and noticed it pushing towards surface text. They mocked common lit crit methods the Destiel lane still uses today. They mocked Dean and Cas scenes that many shippers found meaningful. They mocked any Destiel shippers who took Destiel seriously as something the show was weaving as part of the canon. Fandom fights over what would be enough, what would count, for Destiel to be considered "canon," and that entailed an awful lot of invalidation and goalpost moving and "it's not canon unless they make out." Meanwhile the creatives at spn were using Hays code methods to tell the love story canonically. If you recognized that was happening, it didn't go over well with a good portion of the Destiel lane.

The lightbulb seems to have gone on for a whole lot more Destiel shippers than before about the role network censorship played, but there was a wave, immediately after 15.20, of Destiel shippers accusing Destiel shippers of being "conspiracy theorists" for being able to add 2 + 2 and get 4 and talking about the role the network interference played. (Only a few accounts still seem to be dragging that out, it does seem by now very few people in the Destiel lane are still playing denialism games about corporate queer censorship as a real thing done to Destiel.)

Old fandom history--the precursor to modern era Destiel lane problems along these lines was The Good Destiel Shipper era. Before "canon Destiel" was a serious talking point. But there was a time period of some Destiel shippers self-styling as "I'm not like those other Destiel shippers, I'm a good Destiel shipper, I know Destiel isn't canon and never will be and that the show is about the two brothers, so I'm going to stay in my place and not get uppity like those weirdos who talk about subtext." & admittedly, way back when, I fell a little into that trap myself. I've got some early posts (on LJ and maybe even on tumblr) where I kept making apologias for how I discussed Dean/Cas. It was years ago but no sense denying it. Thank goodness I got over that.

So. When I say sometimes the worst calls come from inside the house...

There are people who think they're advocating for representation and being supportive but instead are eating their own face, demeaning creatives who tell queer love stories within a restrictive industry, or demeaning fans who acknowledge queer coding. It's undermining the causes they claim to support and and it contributed to deepening the mood of invalidation and othering for other Destiel shippers.

I think that’s where I stand with buddie at the moment, this season is giving us nothing to progress the buddie relationship so far, and idk what their plan is for them. I’m afraid if they do it, it’ll be on the last season as a fan service OR to boost up the popularity as a last resort if they’re ever on the verge of cancelation. KR did warn us before this season that she wants to explore different dynamics, we just didn’t anticipate it means separating buddie on and off work🤷‍♀️

I just want to say, again, that it's totally fine if anyone agrees with this nonnie. You do not need to be "connecting dots" to something that might happen weeks or months from now just for the sake of keeping the mood light. It is okay to react in the moment and wait until new information comes out to change your outlook. We may be in for a surprise on Monday, or in the 6A finale, but right now, to this point? There's not a whole going on, and you are allowed to feel however you wish about that no matter how badly others want you to act differently every time you log on. Negativity isn't hurting the fandom. Toxic positivity is. People would rather not post their opinions about the show and not engage with content than risk being trolled via anon, vague posted about just because (even though those doing the vague posting pretend they don't lurk on other blogs), or upset "friends"/mutuals who want their dash to be sunshine and rainbows 24/7. {And once you've crossed some invisible line with one, they get their pals on the hate bandwagon because people don't want to think for themselves and risk that friendship, either!}

I answered one of you in the comment threads yesterday, that once you get the hell out of the OL bubble, things begin to make sense. Why? Well, because of distance and context, I suppose. That troll was never exactly subtle, was she, bless her heart?

That mother and entrepreneur has a life of her own and an entourage of her own and business collaborations of her own and her own agenda. Some of it is shown on her Instagram account, most of it can be speculated. Connecting dots just for the sake of it is neither productive, nor remotely interesting.
