A casually dressed Y/N opens the door on a bright and sunny but chilly Friday afternoon. The Golden Globe nominated actress is just as stunning makeup free and in an old college sweatshirt and jeans and her hair pulled back from her face as she is in expensive designer gowns and jewelry; right behind her is her husband Johnny Depp and their dog Jack Sparrow. “Hey, come on in!” Immediately, I’m greeted with warmth and the scent of cinnamon. The entrance is narrow, and there is a wooden table next to the door with a small bowl which hold two sets of car keys, but there are two doorways across from each other: on the left is the sitting room, and on my right is the dining room with its painted blue walls contrasted with white curtains and a chandelier hanging above the table.

We start with the sitting room which holds a lime green couch adding a nice touch of color against the white walls. There is also a gold ceiling lamp and a glass coffee table. “This is our sitting room, but we use it for a little bit of everything, like a storage room or sometimes a guest would want to sleep in here when they visit because it’s so quiet as opposed to upstairs because we still have teenagers, and there’s a lot of banging around in the morning getting ready for school, or we’ll have friends over.” Those friends would include Brad and Angelina (before the divorce), Tim Burton and Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter, and Depp’s Hollywood Vampires band mates Joe Perry and Alice Cooper. What great company to keep!

From the sitting room we head into the dining room. “We actually painted the dining room a week after we moved in. All of the walls in the house were white and we thought it was way too much, so we decided to paint it a different color,” Depp said. “The tables and chairs actually belonged to Y/N’s sister and we bought it off her in ‘07 when she moved to another city, and that couch in the other room we bought after Nathan and Noelle’s first birthday.” “It was their favorite thing to play on when they were babies. So hard to believe that was 2004,” Y/L/N reminisced. The blue walls are decorated with a few of Depp’s paintings with a molding of a deer’s head that Y/N got at a flea market.

As we exit out of the dining room, I get a good look at the other side of the wall facing the staircase as we go into the living room. The entire wall is covered in a black and white photo of a jazz band taken at a Mardi Gras parade a few years ago, and there is a nice sized wine cabinet which is the size of a recording booth with only one bottle of wine in it; Johnny has cut back on drinking, but still enjoys a glass of wine every now and then. “I’m not as young as I used to be, and I’m runnin’ around on stage all night so I want to be as healthy as possible when I’m performing and to see the rest of my babies grow up.” The rest of his babies would be Nathan and Noelle, fraternal twins born in 2003. Their oldest kids include 26-year-old Star Wars star John Christopher III, born in 1992, and 22-year-old The Greatest Showman actress Camille.

The living room is gorgeous but simple; an all white leather reclining sectional with built in cup holders surrounds a small wooden coffee table in front of the fireplace which has a flat screen television above it. There’s a chandelier in this room as well, similar to the one in the dining room, and the wooden table behind the sectional breaks up the whiteness of the room. “This is where everyone spends the majority of their time. Morning, noon, night, weekends, we are here, with the older kids when they come over for dinner on Sundays. They’ll come over in the afternoon and stay the whole day.” Even with the oldest kids moved out and with houses of their own, the Depps are still a close knit family with Camille and John Christopher, or Three as he’s called by friends and family, living minutes away. Depp family favorite weekend activity? “Cooking breakfast together and then going to the nearby park or to a flea market or farmers’ market. There’s always something to do do in the city so you’re never bored,” the Dark Shadows actor explained. 

When I asked them why they decided to move away from Hollywood, it was an easy answer. Y/L/N said: “we wanted to give them a normal childhood, and you can’t really have that when there are people taking pictures of you in your school uniform heading into school.” The couple moved to the Big Easy before Johnny began filming the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie in 2002, and speaking of cooking, the kitchen is next, and it is every homeowner’s dream. The white marble kitchen island doubles as a sink with its clear backed chairs and a sleek gold light fixture hanging above. A few feet away is a rectangular table with four shelves.

“This is my favorite room. I’m always cooking, and this is pretty much multipurpose room. We do game nights, eat meals, the twins do homework here.” When I joked about the chandeliers, the two only laughed, with Y/N adding, “you’re gonna be seeing a lot of chandeliers in this house. I loved them as a child and always wanted one. Or thirteen. We actually got each of them at Home Depot or Wayfair, and they look good in every room.” At this point, Jack Sparrow begins barking and runs to the front door (the dog, not Depp who plays the beloved swashbuckler). Noelle and Nathan are home from school and they follow the dog into the kitchen.

They are taken aback as they take in the camera man, as they wash their hands in the sink before reaching for the snacks. “Oh, I thought this was happening tomorrow,” Noelle remarks as she reaches for a bag of trail mix from a cabinet and a bottle of water from the fridge. “You have drivers ed tomorrow,” Y/N instantly in mom mode. “And your uniforms are hanging up in the laundry room.” Johnny and Y/N are athlete parents with Nathan playing on his school football team while Noelle is a cheerleader. After getting an okay from the twins to tour their rooms, we head upstairs after the examining the wall of pictures in the upstairs hallway.

Some pictures that have never been made public: a tired looking Y/N in a hospital bed after giving birth to their children, followed by a procession of school portraits and certificates from school. John Christopher and Camille’s graduation and prom pictures. Family outings at the near by park which featured a heavily pregnant Y/N circa early 2000s. A picture of Depp’s late mother Betty Sue and Y/N’s Aunt Claudia smiling as they played cards. And then there were the family portraits.

One that started with John Christopher as a newborn in 1992, then adding Camille in 1996, followed by the twins in 2003. Black and white photos of grandparents and great-grandparents, photos of Depp and Y/L/N ancestors, and the framed Polaroids of Y/N and Depp in Vegas on their honeymoon, after they eloped in summer 1991 after less than a year of dating, and I had to ask the question that’s still on peoples’ minds years later: why elopement? “We were young and didn’t want to go through the process of planning a wedding. I proposed a day after meeting her aunt and uncle and two days later we were married.” You remember that day like it was yesterday; you and Johnny went on vacation to visit your aunt and uncle so they could meet him for the first time as your boyfriend. They loved him, of course and at that point, you’ve only been dating for four months and it was getting serious to the point where Johnny called you his future wife and mother of his children in interviews (which probably wouldn’t be too distant in the future since your period was late). He proposed the night before you left for L.A. after your aunt and uncle had gone to bed and you immediately said yes.

After settling back home, you two took a road trip to Las Vegas the very next day and twenty seven years later, you’re still very much in love. I asked them why move to New Orleans, to which Depp answered: “Y/N was filming a movie here after Three was born, and when I came to visit her with the baby, I think it was during Mardi Gras, we had an amazing time. The food was just incredible, and the people were amazing, and no one gave a fuck about who we were. Once Camille was born, we kept coming back as much as we could, and we decided we wanted to build a life here.” The first room we enter after reaching the landing is the master bedroom. The walls are painted a nice gray, and, you guessed it, a chandelier. “This is our room, where we rarely get any sleep because we have the kids always running in and out for whatever reason--” 

“And we also climb into bed with them too,” Noelle interjects. “And other times we just do it to annoy them,” Nathan backs up his sister’s statement. The bathroom is gorgeous with a white tiled floor; the shower stall is in a corner next to Y/N’s vanity, and across from it is a jacuzzi tub set next to a window that had a few candles along the edge, and adjacent from the tub is a double sink. “This is our bathroom, and we do more unwinding here than the bedroom. Whenever one of us comes home from filming or press tours or whatever, we’re in the tub, probably falling asleep.” Next we move to Noelle’s room and it’s something out of a Pintrest board

Pretty pastel pinks and fluffy white rugs and throws with a nice swing chair in a corner, which she calls her reading nook. Black and white framed pictures of her mom from her modeling days as a teenager and pictures of friends and family fill in space on her walls. “Every piece of furniture came from either Wayfair or Overstock. They have such great deals on furniture and rugs, and I’m always scrolling through their websites.” Nathan’s room is a typical boy’s room. It’s a cool gray scale vibe with a portion of the wall behind his bed painted black and there are shelves on either side of the bed filled with books, picture frames and sports trophies. “Dad and I repainted this wall almost a month ago. The sun shines so bright in the mornings and it’s always a pain, and I love when a room is cold and dark.” 

He admits to sleeping with the fan on at night, even in the winter. There’s a sleek desk in the corner that holds a laptop and a stack of books, and next to it, against the wall, is a decent sized book shelf. Nathan likes to read, a trait that he and the rest of his siblings picked up from their parents. He and Noelle are having a competition to see who could read the most books by the end of the year. The next room is a low ceilinged guest room which is where Depp’s mother Betty Sue lived her last days. 

“This used to be Grandma Betty’s room. Jack comes in here all the time, and we’d find him just laying on the bed,” Nathan says, touching a portrait of his grandmother. The next room is pretty much a music studio, as there’s a drum kit, bass guitars, electric guitars, and a keyboard. The walls are covered with the kids’ school art projects over the years. The room is frequented by Depp’s band the Hollywood Vampires whenever they blow into town, where they write and record new music, and Noelle receives guitar lessons from her father and Cooper. The last room we reach is a game room/homemade home movie theater.

There’s a nice flat screen on the wall and plastic storage bins containing video games, game controllers, and DVDs; Noelle used the room to host a sleepover a few weeks ago, and Nathan and his friends used it to launch water balloons at the neighborhood boys during the summer, which he realizes he makes a mistake in admitting this in front of his parents. Finally we come to the last part of the tour, the backyard which holds a patio and a swimming pool. “I know it doesn’t feel like it now, but we were using the pool up until a week ago. During the spring and summer months, we’ll invite the neighbors over for barbecues or they’ll invite us.” It’s November, and Thanksgiving is a week away. The entire Depp family plans on spending the holiday at the Kentucky ranch Johnny bought for his mother with his siblings. Cutie Reviews: Doki Doki April 19

You guys don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for a chance to review this. Right after I got the box, one of my cats got ill... I had to throw the box away, so I’ve been having everything sit in a tightly sealed bag, just waiting to come out!

This months theme: Mythical Mori

“Forest critters awake as the leaves turn green and the flowers begin to bloom, marking the arrival of spring. We have curated a box of items to enjoy during a spring picnic with some of your favorite forest friends.“

This month, the back page features a description of the Mori Girl fashion style:

Mori means Forest for anyone unfamiliar with the word. The look is very natural and sweet, with nature being its inspiration. I didn’t really know much about Mori fashion outside of it being one of the clothing categories in Love Nikki, so I liked being able to learn a little more about it. I wish they did these more often.

Meanwhile, the prize for the photo contest is an adorable My Melody lunch set.

For this month we have a lot of cute goods inspired by the various characters in the box, nature, and things you would take with you outside or on a fun stroll for nature.

Sumikko Gurashi Purse

Our first item is perfect for outdoor travel, an adorable apple-themed Sumikko Gurashi purse. It comes with a pair of straps to connect to the loops, but you could also adjust it to attach the purse to other things if you wanted.

It’s made from smooth material and has a squared piece of Styrofoam in it that I took out, and it’s shape was perfectly fine the whole time, it didn’t smoosh down or anything. But I decided to keep it in there when not in use.

In order to test this out, I took it with me to the county fair this past week. I was able to fit a handful of items in it, including a hand-sized/pocket medical kit, my inhaler, lip gloss, a can of foaming hand sanitizer, scrunchies, and a set oil blotting sheets. That pretty much filled it completely, it barely stretches out to allow more inside, but the items I had were decent sized. I would have room for a lot more if they were smaller. But I had pockets for my phone, tissues, money, so it wasn’t an inconvenience.

I really like this ♥ not only is it a cute shape and size and have cute designs on it, but there’s a lot you can do with it and usually a problem I have with purses is that they like sliding down my shoulder- which gets on my nerves when I’m out. I don’t know if its them or if its me; but anyway, I didn’t really have that problem with this. It would shift a teensy bit in comparison to other ones, but it wasn’t bothering me at all.

I can’t wait to use it again, and it’s perfect for the upcoming fall/autumn weather~

Rilakkuma Sakura Cup

Next up is an adorable, clear cup featuring Rilakkuma and friends enjoying the pretty cherry blossoms. The flowers completely cover the cup, and it features two sets of images of the group, Rilakkuma’s name, and the text Drawn out by the spring day, Rilakkuma collects cherry blossoms.

It’s a typical plastic cup but it features a very sunken-in bottom and ridges around the inside.

I have a bunch of cups from these boxes, but besides the My Melody glass I got, this is probably my favorite. It’s so pretty to look at, definitely perfect for a spring day, or maybe an early morning. It would be fun to bring out for a picnic~

Totoro Bento Box

To go with the outdoorsy, nature theme what better companion than a bento box? It’s always nice to bring along a snack or meal whenever you’re going to be out for a long period of time, or just for work or school- or you could probably use for food storage too. So for that we have this Totoro colored, inspired box.

It features a single, deep layer with a removable divider piece, and it has a rubbery piece on the lid that can be removed to release steam and heat from the box. It has two clasps on the top and bottom of the lid to securely hold it shut.

I haven’t gotten use for this just yet (only because it never really occurred to me until now while I’m looking at it), but I’ve used the other ones I’ve gotten previously so I am very excited for that chance. This will go well with the upcoming season too, so maybe I’ll put something together and go to the backyard and have a picnic.

However, I’m rating it highly because it has a cute design, the quality is there, you get room for a decent amount of food, removable pieces... it seems really well thought out, and now I have enough containers to make a full meal!

Sanrio Ice Pack & Animal Food Picks

Everything kind of has a unified theme here, have you noticed that? Next we have an adorable, rectangular-shaped Sanrio ice pack. I got Cinnamoroll, and in the booklet I can see Pompompurin, so I assume there was a couple different ones?

Anyway, these are mainly for things like packing away with meals or drinks to keep them cool. But I think you could also use this when you’re not feeling well and need to cool down a little, I mean look at it, doesn’t that just look forehead perfect?

So with any ice packs... they’re pretty much all the same. So quality wise it’s perfect. I like how it’s the opposite of my previous ice pack I got (it was round), so I can choose them depending on the need or item now :3

Our last item is an adorable set of animal picks! We get 2 panda, a froggy, and a lion, bunny, and elephant. According to the image in the booklet the coloring of the lion and elephant can differ. As you can see, the elephant also has longer “legs“ than the others do.

Picks are those cute little plastic decorations people put into bento, usually when its based on a series, or for children lunches, or just to add a touch of color. They come in many styles and shapes and are pretty popular, a lot of people use them.

Again, this is an item I haven’t gotten a chance to use, but I definitely will. They’re so cute and colorful, I’m very excited for an opportunity to make use of them and I think they go great with this theme we have.

Content - 5 out of 5. I know I’m going to use everything, and I don’t feel like anything will go to waste. The items are nicely sized and detailed, the quality is there, I really like them! I did have a minor complaint though, and that’s that I felt like this box didn’t have much variety. Like the only thing different between subscribers would be the Sanrio icepack and maybe the coloring of a few picks?

Theme: 5 out of 5. Okay so initially I wasn’t sure what to rank this, due to not really seeing a mythical sense to the items. I feel like the Mori theme is also a little loose, but as Mori translates to forest, and you see natural things like animals in the forest. I also think the Suteki Crate did a good job, so overall yeah, I see the theme.

Total Rank: 10 out of 10 Cuties. For spring or summer or fall or even winter, these items are great! They’re all practical and very cute, I feel like even if you think you might not use an item, you probably will at some point. As much as I love stuffed animals sometimes I think they go to waste because you don’t do anything with them, so I like that I didn’t feel that way with this box.

1. Sumikko Gurashi Purse - Next to the cup this will get used the most, I just know it. The quality and material is amazing, it sits on my shoulder comfortably, and it fits everything I could need while I’m out (give or take). Just looking at it makes me feel happy~

2. Rilakkuma Cup - It’s so pretty, I love looking at it~ I can’t wait to put all sorts of different drinks in it to see how they look. It screams spring too, and it gives me a cooling feeling when I look at it.

3. Sanrio Icepack - It’s a bit plain in comparison to the other items, but I love how clear and pretty it looks :3 I’ll probably use this a lot, since I tend to get sick and get headaches a lot.

4. Totoro Bento - It’s a bit bland in colors to me personally, but I love the drawing on the lid x3 it’s so precious. My favorites in Totoro was always the little white and blue one.  

5. Animal Picks - As cute as they are, I know they won’t get as much use as the other items. As much as I love the panda though, I kind of wish they went for a more realistic forest, like... the frog and bunny are okay, but maybe they could have added squirrels, a bird, deer?

Plastic Molded Tanks - What Kind Of Life Expectancy Do They Have?

General Rotationally Molded Polyethylene Tank Sizes: There are many sizes available for single walled vertical tanks, ranging from 5 gallons to 15,000 gallons, as well as hundreds of sizes for horizontal, rectangular and conical bottom configurations. There are in general two styles of double walled containment systems ranging in sizes from 15 to 10,500 gallons.

Polyethylene tanks are excellent for applications storing a very wide variety of liquids up to 120 degrees F. Polyethylene tanks can handle temperatures below zero, but temperatures over 120 F will began to soften the tank walls and they will bulge. Long term exposure to elevated temperatures could result in stress cracking. Tanks with fiberglass reinforcing on the walls can handle higher temperatures.

Life Expectancy of Plastic Tanks: There is no proven way to determine the life span of a polyethylene tank. Many variables can have an effect on the tank such as:

Are there mixed chemicals in the tank?

Are chemicals being reacted or mixed in the tank?

What is the temperature of the chemical?

What is the weight of the chemical? Some chemicals are more aggressive to the tank than others, like sodium hypochlorite and some surfactants.

How many process fittings are installed in the tank and how large are the fittings?

What other features or accessories are attached to the tank walls and are they properly supported?

Is there mechanical agitation in the tank?

Is there any external loading or mechanical vibration on the tank or nozzles?

Is the tank used temporarily at a location and then frequently moved around? The more often a tank is moved, the more physical strain it is exposed to from lifting, loading and strapping to a truck, etc. and this physical strain can also affect the tank's integrity.

Is the tank used indoors or outdoors?

If the tank is outdoors, what part of the country is it located in? Tanks used outdoors in Arizona or Florida are subjected to more intense sunshine than in Minnesota for example. Even though the polyethylene resins used in molding chemical storage tanks have Ultra-Violet inhibitors in them, UV rays will have a detrimental effect on the life span of any polyethylene tank.

Is the tank being used strictly for stationary storage or for transport? Each of these factors will have an effect on the polyethylene tank life. Rotationally molded plastic tanks have been on the market now for nearly 40 years. We have therefore gained a good general insight into what the average life of a rotationally molded polyethylene tank will be. This is just an overall observation on average, due to many unknown factors unique to each application as outlined above. Many applications are very "tank friendly" and therefore the tanks have an unusually long service life. Other applications are especially demanding and the tanks have very short service lives as a result. We have seen tanks fail in less than two years and we have seen others well over 20 years old.

Although a guarantee cannot be made on how long a polyethylene tank will actually last, we know from experience, that the average plastic storage tank will last anywhere from 10 to 20 years, depending upon what kind of chemicals the tank is holding and the conditions of the environment they are being used in. There are exceptions to this, like 12-1/2% sodium hypochlorite, which generally causes tanks to pre-maturely age after only 5 to 7 years. This occurs on all HD Linear Polyethylene Tanks, regardless of manufacturer (it happens more quickly in Cross-linked polyethylene tanks) due to the chemical nature of sodium hypochlorite. Since each application has its own unique conditions, it is impossible to make a general statement about how long you can expect any given tank to last in a given application, unless we know all of the specifics of that particular application. Even then, the best anyone can reasonably offer is a general expectation, based upon the information available. There have been instances where a tank was purchased for a specific chemical at a specified concentration and later on, the concentration was increased or the tank was re-deployed for an entirely different chemical and service condition. In these cases, we obviously cannot predict what effect these changes may have on the service life of the tank.

General Tank Warranties: There are standard warranties on tanks if they are used in approved applications. This type of warranty is 3 years for standard weight tanks and 5 years for heavy duty tanks. The warranty covers repair or replacement of a tank that fails due to defects in materials and workmanship. Most tanks that fail due to a manufacturing defect will do so in the first few months after the tank is placed in service. If the tank survives beyond the warranty period, it will more than likely last for 10-15 years or longer.

If A Tank Is Several Years Old, How Do You Determine If It Is Still Safe For Use? If a plastic tank is beginning to show its age, you will be able to see fine fissures or hairline cracks referred to as crazing. Look for crazing on the dome of a vertical tank in the area where sunlight is most intense or around the nozzles on the sidewall of the tank, especially where mechanical loading from pipe and valves are connected. The top of a transport tank, which has been allowed to set outside all year, is a good place to look as well. These fine cracks will become more intense and visible as time goes on and will become stress cracks. Dropping a light inside the    plastic mold             tank can be helpful in visual examinations, because any stress cracks will be easier to spot with the internal light source in place. The resilience of a good tank will be obvious. A tank beyond its life expectancy will sound dull when struck and could crack as a result. It is better to check regularly and early to be safe versus losing valuable chemicals and incurring cleanup expense from an un-examined tank that fails. Regular (at least annual) documented tank inspections should be a normal part of your plant safety and maintenance program. When a tank is showing signs of wear or is otherwise determined to be unsafe, it is best to replace it.

SEEDED SLICED BREAD

What I like most about this bread is how delicious it is toasted and how well it holds up.

I make it, cut it into slices and I have enough for the whole week.

No sugar - Egg-free option - Dairy-free option

Depends on the rising time, about 3 hours.

INGREDIENTS

For the bread

- 15 ml lukewarm milk (or vegetable drink)

- 1 tablespoon of honey

- 2 ¼ teaspoons dry baker's yeast

- 45 g oat flakes

- 250 g medium-strength wheat flour

- 105 g whole wheat flour

- 30 g flaxseed flour

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 50 g soft butter or butter in ointment

- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds

- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

For brushing the bread before baking

- 1 beaten egg (egg-free option: 15 ml of milk)

- 2 tablespoons old-fashioned rolled oats

- 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds

PREPARATION

- Grease a 21×11 cm rectangular baking pan.

- In a bowl, put the warm milk with the honey and the yeast, and let it stand for 10 minutes so that the yeast can

Once the glue has dried, place it on the designated area in your boat. It’s sturdy and it won’t give you problems.

Step 2. Setting the Vinyl Down

You don’t have to put vinyl at the bottom of the box. An extra piece is needed to be wrapped under the seat. Just apply more effort in working for a nice appearance and allow a vinyl skirt to hang.

Make sure to leave a margin of about half an inch for sewing the edges. This is enough to match the cording’s size. Use the double-sided tape to hold the cording and make it curved without twisting or binding.

If you know how to use the sewing machine, you’ll be fine. But if not, you can ask someone to do it for you. When vinyl is sewn properly, you can install the bench.

Step 3. Cutting the Foam

Measure the amount of foam that you need, then mark it. Cutting can be done with an electric knife. Give ½” extra to ensure that the vinyl cushion is stuffed nicely. When you have the right piece of foam, glue it on the top of the box.

Batting should be added on the sides for some cushioning with the roughly estimated size. It gives the seat a fuller look. Use a Loctite adhesive to glue it and trimming is needed once it sits in the right place.

Step 4. Adding the Vinyl by Stapling

Stapling creates a serious grip and adequate strength to hold the vinyl in place. It’s best to use stainless staples. You can begin on the opposing side and work your way to finish tucking the whole piece of vinyl.

Just keep pulling, stapling, and tucking to obtain a neat result. At this point, you have finished a bench seat or a motor box for your aluminum boat.

As long as you have time, resources, and willingness to work, there’s no reason that you won’t try following the steps on how to build a boat bench seat. You can choose the color, design, size, and materials that you like from these two guides.

Pontoon seat covers are made out of many different kinds of materials. The lowest end in the spectrum would be a simple plastic tarp. You might automatically think that larger is better when it comes to pontoon boat covers, but that’s not necessarily true. Although a larger size will allow you to cover more area, it’s important to measure fit more than anything. Since pontoon boats are exposed to the elements continually, a fitted seat cover will do a better job in protection. Any excess room caused by an unfitted cover will just be excess room for more water or air to enter and damage your pontoon seats.
