rainforest beings

i had never spent much time in a Rainforest

until now

rainforests were faraway places

tropical 

endangered

inaccessible

then my friend said

“come visit” so off i went

not knowing the full extent of the solitude 

i would experience

she is busy, always has something going on

i am her guest, so i don’t want to bother her

so i stay in the cabin she so graciously 

gave me

twelve hour days, twelve hour nights

sun is up at 6am and down at 6 pm

i’m a nightbird, up at 11am down at 3 am

so i am awake at night more than the day

pitch black, i watch the moon slowly come to full

it lands over the mountain in front of me

illuminating the night hills, the trees

the reflection on the shiny rain soaked leaves look like christmas tree lights

i actually never realized 

and more 

it never actually crossed my mind 

how many beings live in a rainforest

each day i see the same butterflies flutter over the bush in from of me

the darting red and black birds swooping down 

check me out

as i sit on the porch

a fly 

buzzes around my window 

the same time each day

as if to see if i am still there

when i sit on the porch 

to listen to the ping ping sound

of some being

he or she stops,  aware of my listening, just for her

the beings in the rainforest

are acutely  tuned in   to my presence

they almost watch me 

as if to keep tabs on me

each evening the valley below 

echoes with familiar sounds 

i have come to know

as each species declares life

each kind of bird

bug

amphibian 

has it’s own call

the big fan palms crack in the breeze

bamboo leaves float thru the air

dried leaves crash on my rooftop

the wind brushes against flowers

the rainforests are the 

lungs of the earth

breathing for us

they protect the ozone

The Very Very Tall Tall Into The Sky Mother Tree’s Roots

Extend Deep….. into the Forest Floor, maybe even down to the Aquifers

Her root tendrils stand nine inches tall as they wind along the ground

spread out, finger shaped, gripping the Earth

Ancestral Energy Calling Out

Foolish Humans

What

A New Earth

Where will I end up in life is one of the toughest question one could answer. A lonely teen who’s struggling to shine on his own through the tunnel of the life. What does happiness mean to us these days? Posting a glamorous pictures, living up your life with adventurous events, that you share with friends and unknown people around the world? Letting your social media friends that you’re doing well with your life and is in the state of completely bliss? I think we are losing the meaning of bliss day by day because of the portal of the internet that we feed ourselves with both negative and positive attractions. The idea of realism is losing its nature as well. We add or follow on social media and then we try to communicate with the strangers, and then we exchange our personal data, we schedule for a date and then land up on bed. The very next day, we might either lose each other contact and forget like nothing happened between us, or we continue with the relation we had. We don’t know or act like we don’t know or don’t seem to care about our consequences anymore. Our perception toward each other has changed drastically as well. Though, everyone quote themselves “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” the mentality they still carry is none other than the person who judge people by their appearance or their status or their, past and the present. Perhaps this is the New Earth that we all are living in and slowly adapting its harsh nature of the truth.
