Since it's the season, it's time to promote my Nightmare Before Christmas/Jack Skellington X Sally fanfiction series!
Two Dearest Friends:
"Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, meets Sally, a ragdoll created by Dr. Finklestein. A friendship blossoms between them as he introduces her to the world outside of her tower. Sally is falling for him as their relationship grows into something more, and Jack finds the same is happening to him."
"A story where the Christmas incident never happens, and Jack and Sally find their happiness on their own."
Our Nightmare:
"Sally moves in with the man of her screams. But there is still so much she has to learn of Halloween Town, and what it's like living with The Pumpkin King.
A sequel to Two Dearest Friends, where the Christmas incident never happens. But there are still many ends that haven't been met, and much for these two dreamers to learn as they start to spend their deaths together."

Dad's Father's Day card this year. Dunno why it took so long to draw Dr. Finklestein for this series.

Jack: That’s ridiculous, Sally doesn’t have a crush on me!
Mayor: Yes, she does
Dr. Finklestein: Yes, she does
Santa Claus: Yes, she does
Sally: Yes, I do

A thought regarding Sally’s Premonitions
“If you get the urge to steal someone else’s holiday, I’d listen to her! She’s the only one that makes sense in this insane asylum!” -The Nightmare Before Christmas “Sandy Claws”
Tumblr media
This is about Sally’s premonitions. So I’ll get straight to the point! We know that Sally was created by Finklestein so what if her brain had a previous owner with some sort of strange ability? Or the fact that she wasn’t “born” in Halloween Town and was created. The town citizens all are similar in the fact that they have roles in Halloween Town because it’s all they know. Sally doesn’t really have her own role besides being Finklestein’s caretaker and often being shielded from Halloween Town. While Sally manages to fit in mostly by appearance, she seems to think outside of the box and doesn’t have a set role like the other town citizens do. She’s more in tune about other’s and even herself. Not to discredit the town citizens at all. It was just something I noticed.
Speaking of the idea of Sally’s brain possibly being used by another person…I actually see how that could lead into a different version of Shea Ernshaw’s “Long Live the Pumpkin Queen”. Basically, I had an idea! Just for fun!
I mean…as much as I don’t accept that book as canon and that it’s obvious I don’t like it…I don’t mean it in a hateful way. It’s purely my opinion and I’m not trying to attack Ernshaw or people who enjoyed the book. While it wasn’t my cup of tea, I liked the idea and it’s interesting how this thought of mine could be arranged to incorporate some form of a dream realm and dream realm beings.
Despite what the book wrote about Sally, I’m still sticking with the fact that Sally was created and that she will always be Finklestein’s creation and her own character as shown in the film. I just like the idea of Sally’s brain being the leftover remains of a dream world citizen which could lead to Sally have premonitions and vivid dreams. While Sally is a completely different person from the dream world citizen, and has her own thoughts, personality, etc. it’s more about the idea that Sally was a blank slate and learned to be her own independent ragdoll and developed her own personality YET the idea is that her leftover brain has the ability to inherit some slight “abilities”. That other Halloween Town citizens don’t have.
Again, just a thought I had for fun and I genuinely might flesh this idea out more in a fanfic but like I said, I don’t know when I’ll get to it as I have this fic and another one I’m trying to work on. (But life stuff is getting in the way and I need to prioritize my health first as I am low energy these days, BUT once I figure my personal stuff out, I’ll have more energy and time to get back into my passions and being creative!)
Anyways, thanks for coming to my TNBC Ted Talk.
