wrt post about getting into doll customizing. you should absolutely do it. buy an airbrush (you can get one with tiny compressors nowadays), buy cool colors and primers. buy a mini rotary tool, buy mr super clear, get a nice set of watercolor pencils, i am enabling you

Admittedly, this one I did purely because I want a Draculaura doll with almost if not completely solid pink hair. She’d look so cute, especially with this faceup! If her hair is canonically pink in the show, we should have at least one doll to reflect that.

Hello Dollblr

So my fiance bought me the new gen3 Draculaura and I looove her. Already put her hair into her old signature twintails after washing her and trying right now to somehow figure out some clothing patterns without having to destroy the one outfit I have for her lol.

I THINK I figured out something for a jacket pattern but it will still take a LOT of tweaking and stuff because it was a tad bit small and didnt completely do the thing I wanted it to do.

Still I won't let that discourage me!

Also I tried to wash my fiances old MH dolls (Rochel and skelita aand a third one I cant identify) and I just couldnt get the damn glue off.

I mean Lemmy wants to reroot them anyway she said but even with removing all the gunk and hair their bodies and heads are just SO sticky. I tried dishsoap, I tried baking soda, i tried just ahampoo, I used a toothbrush, but it just didnt get better!

Does anyone have any idea what else I could try? Because even if she wants to reroot them and give them a new faceup it is just disgusting if they are so damn sticky...

IMPORTANT EDIT: I LIVE IN EUROPE, SPECIFICALLY GERMANY, I HAVE NO ACCESS TO SOMETHING LIKE GOO GONE OR OTHER COMMON AMERICAN PRODUCTS :((

And no I will eat a broom before I get anything from Amazon evennif it kills me, also imports now cost a fuckton bc of the new stupid custom regulations.

Hmmm. Faceup plans. Aria (right) is currently on a shrunken MH draculaura head and I feel like her face isn't as full as I want it to be. I might try to redo her on an EAH head at some point bc their faces are Very Round.

Brenner remains the unproblematic child, they look fine lol

Anyway, time to start faceups I suppose.

A red riding hood and Draculaura themed makeover, I had a lot of fun with her hair and making tiny plaits for it. And drawing in some curls for her hairline because my own hair is similarly curly and I love drawing them in!

Dress iirc is a bodice from Heather Grayson, dress body is from a knock-off brand for Blythe? Cape is Draculaura G3

Short unboxing video of Vampire heart Draculaura. Though she’s absolutely stunning, she feels more like a $75 doll than a $100 doll. I wish I could have bought her in store rather than online (I always worry about getting a wonky faceup).

i was gonna draft this originally just to link pics somewhere but i guess i may as well post it lol

Wig is done. Not fully happy with it, but I think it's the best I can do with my current skills and supplies. It's too big and does not stay on by itself (hence the pin in the right photo), so I'm probably going to actually glue it on when I'm done, but it'll just be two or three small points of glue so it's still easy to take off later, even if that will destroy the wig I currently have should I decide to do that.

I've kind of let go of the idea of this doll being able to transform into the other outfits for the character, partially because I hated patterning them so much but mostly because moving her to change her clothes a lot is going to ruin the body paint. I really have to figure out how to do that better for the rest of the line 😅 Maybe in like two years I'll remake her but with the regular Draculaura body so I can just use my existing doll clothes as a pattern. I may also have invested in the expensive skin paints by then...

I'm going to wait until her faceup (the layers of Mr. Super Clear) are done before I do glue/finish off the wig though. I also glued on her cape, so now next steps are just the pastels and final faceup! It's gotten to the point where I'm close enough to done I just want to see the final finished product, but I do still have to do the work to take it there lol.

Oh there are SO many new dolls on shelves now. I'm not used to it! I wish I didn't have to adult so I could buy all of them lol.

Having trouble finding a Monster Fest Lagoona with a good face screening...all her dolls have that one-eye-bigger-than-the-other defect. So now I'm wondering if I should wait on her and maybe grab Core Refresh Lagoona since I only want her clothes. As much as I love her hair, I don't like that particular faceup or the orange lipstick. I'd much rather redress my SS1 doll <3

I actually REALLY want Core Refresh Cleo but she hasn't appeared in any Walmarts that I've heard of...I wonder if she'll be a Target exclusive? If so, I'll pick her up alongside Monster Mystery Draculaura when that line finally drops here.

I also want Catty Noir because she is SO fabulous, but I'm not totally sold on her accessories so I'm tryyyying to wait until she goes on sale. If she goes on sale. I also still want the rest of the Monster Fest dolls (sans Draculaura) for their outfits as well. Clawdeen I miiiight keep. Maybe. I need to see her out of box first. AND Welcome Committee Frankie will be out sooner than later, too! So many dolls, so little time aaaaaaah--
