Till the End of the Moon - Episode 39
Tumblr media
Second to last episode. Already. It’s been a while since I watched quite consistently one drama so it almost feels like an achievement to have reached that far, so fast. I’m completely in the dark as to what might happened next. Cang Jiumin got all of the artifacts back. Susu came to ask him for the truth. We still don’t know if Ye Qingyu has become or not the king of Jing. I don’t know if I’m the only one still wondering about that? Like, they implied there was someone who knew about Tantai Jin behind that mask and they haven’t used that info yet and I kind of need closure on that. That’s the only think I haven’t seen reused so far and yeah. It needs to be used. Thank you.
He’s upset she came, but he still kills the demon that came to try and kill her. Then he tells her he did this because he hates her and can’t forgive her for what she did to him. She doesn’t want to believe it. But then the demon god take possession of Cang Jiumin and reaches for Susu’s throat, strangling her. More yelling. I was thinking that Luo Yunxi did a pretty good job in this part, like you can see him being torn while completely embracing trying to be the villain. But I don’t know why they ask them to scream all the time they’re fighting. It looks so stupid and kind of breaks any intense moment. Even though the demon god tries to convince Cang Jiumin that no one ever loved him, he manages to break free and release Susu. He tries to kill the demon god, but it doesn’t work, obviously and the demon god uses the demonic weapons to try and force him into becoming the demon god. It kind of backfires because the weapons don’t obey anymore the original demon god and Cang Jiumin uses them to absorb the demon god. Or something like that. It was weird.
He figures out that since only a true god can kill the demon god, it has to be Susu killing him, as she’s the daughter of Chu Huang and suitable to follow the Heartless way to become a god. So he tells the demons to announce to the different sects that he’s going to marry her in three days and they are invited to the wedding if they want to come and congratulate him.
Gongye Jiwu decides to let himself get contaminated by demonic energy, even though he’s going to become a demon because of that because he’s not strong enough to fight Cang Jiumin as he is now. That character makes me really sad. In all of his lives, he ends up being a puppet to others’ plan. He ended up dying miserably because of his stupid father as Xiao Lin. Then he’s manipulated by Dimian. He had kind of everything to succeed, but then... he’s so upright that it’s kind of his downfall. It’s so sad really.
Cang Jiumin prepared a dream like world like the one Mingye left behind for Susu to remember him after everything’s over. She wonders why he would love a simple mortal life, but he doesn’t explain much. In the end, she kisses him and they spend the night together as a farewell I guess. Then he takes her back for the wedding.
Pang Yizhi gave Gongye Jiwu a charm about the demonic punishment the gods tried to use against the first demon god. He plans on using it on the day of the wedding to kill Cang Jiumin. The other sects’ disciple agree to follow him in doing so.
I have to say once more though... The costumes in this drama. I love them. There was only the grass cape Tantai Jin wore for his wedding which was really bad (but still kind of grew on me anyways). Everything else... the head pieces, the capes, the details. The costume designers did a very good job. I mean, there’s so many of them so I’m not sure of the quality up close but on my tiny screen it’s gorgeous.
And as the wedding is about to begin, end of the episode. Only one left and it’s over. I have no idea how things are going to turn out, how it will be resolved. But none of the main characters died yet. So I expect that some of them will tragically perish during next episode, if not all of them.

House of Anubis [Season 1, Ep 6]
Well Mara you got Mick an A, so now what? lol
Okay, I don't know why but I honestly find it strange that the new teacher wants to come check on Patricia.
Lol well that "fight" could have looked less fake but I guess viewers got the point. I hope Mick doesn't get kicked out though. Mara really didn't think things through. Well, the teacher was at least nice about it.
Anyway, who is this random ass man?
Okay, honestly that message on the wall was WAY too easy to find. Just peeled back a little bit of wallpaper...really?
So Sarah's parents were murdered! It wasn't an accident.
Okay so I'm still not trusting the new teacher but he did find Joy's phone which is good. Idk it seemed too easy...maybe he is meant to gain their trust or something. Idk.
Ah, so the old lady really is Sarah. I wonder who killed her parents though. "Tip the scales of life..." so like the scales that Anubis does to send people to the afterlife? Is it something related to that?
It's cute they formed a club lol.
When daylight ends at midday (so obviously an eclipse right?) through tears of glass the eyes shall see. (that part...idk...stained glass window maybe? eh...whatever I'll figure it out later it's late i'm sleepy haha)

A 2022 Recap: My 5 favorite dramas of the year
2022 was an interesting year. I didn’t watch as many dramas as I hoped to have had, so making this list wasn’t as hard as I expected it to be.
Disclaimer: This list is purely based on my own enjoyment of the show. They come in no particular order. This list is subjective, and will only include dramas that premiered in 2022 or have had their last episode air this year.
Our Beloved Summer (SBS,Netflix)
Tumblr media
“A life without love is like a year without summer.”
This was absolutely beautiful. The cinematography, the music, and the chemistry between the leads were amazing. Watching this is like watching a movie. It was well-written and poetic. Notwithstanding the fact that I initially found the relationship between the leads toxic, this is actually a really solid romance drama. The characters were able to outgrow these toxic characteristics later on when they were older and gave the viewers a beautiful take on a second chance romance.
Twenty Five, Twenty One (tvN, Netflix)
Tumblr media
This drama taught me what love was. I have never seen a connection between two characters as beautiful as what Na Hee Do and Baek Yijin shared. It’s been 9 months and I still think about them from time to time.
This drama captured the beauty of youth, first loves, and fighting for your dreams. Definitely was broken hearted with the ending. I didn’t need a happy ending; I just want one that made sense. I felt cheated when I first watched it, but then I realized how this drama literally resurrected me from my drama slump. Sometimes we forget how beautiful something was in the beginning, just because of its ending. The first 3/4 of the drama was definitely a 10. Regardless of how it tied everything, this was definitely one of the best dramas I’ve seen in my entire life.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo (ENA, Netflix)
Tumblr media
This is the best surprise I had this year. I wasn’t really keeping up with the news surrounding this drama nor was I planning on watching it. I just started it on a whim one night and easily fell in love with it.
Although I love the portrayal of the romance, the real star of the show is the growth of Woo Young Woo as a lawyer. I love how each case she handles ties in with important themes in society. I especially like how this drama highlights the treatment of autistic people, since the titular character is one. You will definitely see how she tries to fit in, in a world where people have so many prejudices against people like her.
Relevant themes, unique, well-acted and heartwarming. This is definitely one of the best dramas this year.
A Dream of Splendor (Tencent)
Tumblr media
This historical drama filled in what I was looking for in Chinese dramas for so long: a good, solid historical romance.
Well-acted and has a sensible plot. This drama is considerate to the eyes and the brain. I also liked how there is a story outside the romance. The 3 women’s journeys to finding their places in a male-dominated world is to root for. I especially liked each woman had a different personality and at some point, even had different directions in their lives, but they still kept their strong friendship in the end.
Love Between Fairy and Devil (iQiyi)
Tumblr media
The hype is real guys. This is the xianxia drama of the year.
This is straight out like a fairytale. “What happens when the villain falls in love?” Watch him damn the whole world just so he can kiss her one last time.
The CGI, costumes, music, and the overall aesthetic of this drama was absolutely beautiful. I definitely think this is a good drama to watch as an introduction to the world of xianxia dramas.
Runner Ups
A Business Proposal (SBS, Netflix)
Tumblr media
This definitely reminded me so much of old-school romcom Kdramas which I missed so much. This is cliche done right. It almost has every trope you’ll find often plagued in Kdramas, but this drama did it so well.
I do wish the ending was different. Definitely a drama to watch if you just want to turn off your brain and watch two most unlikely people fall in love.
Lighter and Princess (Youku)
Tumblr media
Definitely a guilty-pleasure. I really enjoyed the transitions of the relationship of the main couple. They started out as academic rivals, then became co-workers, then friends, then lovers, broke up, met again in a new workplace, became friends again, then got back together. Objectively, it’s not the best drama out there. The second half most especially felt lacking, and I didn’t like the “villain” of the story. Still this drama got me so hooked I bought a Youku subscription.
Maybe it was because of the chemistry between the leads, maybe it was because of Arthur Chen’s dashing looks, or maybe it was the fact that it rekindled my love for bad boys. I can’t pinpoint specifically what made this drama so addictive. But I do know for sure that this is my favorite modern Chinese romance drama of the year.

Till the End of the Moon - Episode 25
Tumblr media
Last episode we started running towards a huge wall of miscommunication and misunderstanding, especially because Susu is meddling with stuff she shouldn’t. Of course, Ye Bingchang is part of the problem, but if Susu wasn’t trying to go behind Tantai Jin’s back all the time, we would avoid much of the upcoming crisis.
Tantai Jin asks Ye Xiwu if she made this porridge especially for him. He asks her to feed it to him. But before she puts the spoon to his mouth, she faints? Falls asleep? I’m not so sure what happened and we’re already moving on to something else. Okay so I think this review is going to be somewhat complicated. Susu seems to only come back to herself while riding a horse and she seems surprised that she managed to escape with Xiao Lin. Tantai Jin had Nian Baiyu check the porridge and they found a deadly poison from Sheng, without any cure. Now I’m scared for Granny. I have a bad feeling. Anyways, Tantai Jin thinks she wanted to kill him. So he uses the water of Ruo river to control her and he sends her to do what she wants. She admits to poisoning the porridge, because she did with something else, which creates more misunderstandings since she never intended to kill Tantai Jin, but of course her hypnotized self won’t explain anything. He still lets her go and tells Nian Baiyu to let her achieve her goal, then he goes crazy from the hurt I guess, destroying everything. Then he does something to a puppet, but I don’t understand.
Susu doesn’t remember how they escaped and Xiao Lin says she seems to have a fever, probably from the fright of the night. He thinks it’s a little suspicious that everything is going so well and that no one is following them. She remembers a little bit. Xiao Lin wants Susu to come along with him since Tantai Jin will be angry at her, but she won’t follow him to the South, she needs to stay by his side and obviously Tantai Jin only thinks she wants to go with Xiao Lin.
Tantai Jin hears news that something happened at the Ye family residence. I hope that when he hearst hat granny was hurt because Ye Xiwu made porridge for her he’ll figure out that something is wrong. Ye Xiwu would never try to harm even less kill her granny. Ye Bingchang is actually very surprised to see Tantai Jin come around and alive. Please slip up. Tantai Jin don’t fall for her dirty lies. Also why is Nian Baiyu there? Wasn’t he supposed to follow Ye Xiwu? Granny gains consciousness seeing Tantai Jin and asks about Xiwu. She dies relieved after Tantai Jin promises to her that he’ll take good care of Ye Xiwu. Please do the maths Tantai Jin, you are smart. Tantai Jin allows Ye Bingchang to stay at home. Ye Qingyu tells Tantai Jin that granny was poisoned. Ye Bingchang says that granny must have taken the porridge by accident since Ye Xiwu would never hurt her. Then he says it was to hurt him. I’m so upset. all of this only to save Xiao Lin from prison. Really not worth it. I hope they find the sleepy powder in the other bowl of porridge, but they probably won’t. And Ye Bingchang gets what she wanted. Unless Tantai Jin has a plan. He’s usually two steps ahead.
I thought Xiwu wasn’t going to follow Xiao Lin? They arrived at the meeting point where master Pang waited for him even though he was late for four days. Tantai Jin takes control of Ye Xiwu’s body and has her stab Xiao Lin. They really can’t communicate like normal people instead of going behind each other’s back, right? This is exactly why I was against this ship to begin with. They can’t trust each other. Really bad special effects on the bleeding. She comes back to her senses, unaware of what happened. Nian Baiyu asks Tantai Jin why he made her do that when he knew all along her goal and he wants her to be hated by everyone so she’ll have nowhere to go but to him. If this isn’t a BIG BIG BIG red flag mister Tantai Jin? What a twisted plan. That’s not a way to ear someone’s love. However something isn’t going according to plan. Xiao Lin wants to protect Ye Xiwu. He comforts her, the wound isn’t fatal. He says that he was hurt by the Jing soldiers and not Ye Xiwu, even though they all witnessed it. Master Pang freed Ye Xiwu from the spell, however Xiao Lin is going to die from the wound because it is no ordinary wound. Master Pang wants Xiao Lin to keep bed ridden until he finds a solution, but Xiao Lin wants to carve the sharp stabbing out of his body, because he’s sure there’s a reason for Tantai Jin letting him live when he could have killed him. Xiao Lin sends Ye Xiwu away but she wants to stay. He tells her her granny passed away. He also lets her think that Tantai Jin killed her? WTF? I try to watch my words, but what the hell is happening right now? Dudes, stop using Ye Xiwu in your fights, she has something more important to accomplish and has no time to play being your tool. Once she’s all excited with hatred towards Tantai Jin, Xiao Lin knocks her out. When she wakes up, she’s tied up in a carriage and manages to escape thanks to her spiritual weapon.
Tantai Jin’s plan didn’t work as Xiao Lin carved the weapon out of his body. They even defeated the other army and saved all the prisoners. Xiao Lin left a letter to tell Tantai Jin that he’s leaving his country in his care while the others will escape to the South. He even offers him the dragon scale to protect him.
Susu makes it back to the camp, but it’s too late: Xiao Lin is dead. He asked in his last will that Tantai Jin takes care of Ye Bingchang, since she’s a nice girl and now she won’t have a husband anymore to care for her. Master Pang is going to leave the mortal realm and go back to cultivate, he’s dejected from being here, now that Sheng is gone and Xiao Lin too.
Tantai Jin refuses Nian Baiyu’s comforting words. He knows that Ye Xiwu is never going to come back because he forced her to stab the man she loved all this time. He’s very sad. Well your plan was dumb. You’re usually smarter than that. However, while on an outing, she’s right there, saying she’s come back. She tells him they should start over again, that she forgives him and asks him if he forgives her. He nods yes. She’s finally back on track, she told Master Pang she needs to finish her mission this time. I mean... you kind of spoiled it yourself by doing useless stuff. BUT OH WELL. Then she faints.
It’s kind of a little bit frustrating how he forgives her so easily when he readily believed Ye Bingchang that Ye Xiwu poisoned the porridge. It doesn’t make much sense to me that he agrees not to ask anymore about what happened. Susu is confusing me at this point, I’m not sure I understand what she wants from him. It’s a mess. But it’s a drama, so it should be a mess.

A 2022 Recap: A run through of all the dramas I’ve seen this year
2022 is finally coming to a close. Just like any year, there were some great dramas, while there were also others that should have never left the drawing room.
I laughed, fell in love, got frustrated, and cried many times for the past 12 months. I had some epiphanies and learned some new things (e.g. the best way to solve your problems is to live in a coastal town).
I consider 2022 a decent drama year for me. I have managed to finish 44 dramas which helped me reached my goal of completing 300 dramas before this year ends.
I wished I could write longer reviews about each drama but I genuinely forgot about most of them by this time of writing. Anyways, here are the 44 dramas I watched and my short commentary on them. (Disclaimer: This list is subjective. These are only my opinions based on my experience while watching these shows.)
1. Melancholia (Kdrama, 2021)
You+Me=Love. This drama made math really interesting. However, I wished this wasn't romance at all.
2. The Red Sleeve (Kdrama, 2021)
The most heartbreaking part of this drama was knowing the lead characters at some point existed in history.
3. Our Beloved Summer (Kdrama, 2021)
Everything about this show was amazing: the aesthetics, music, and the chemistry between the leads.
4. Twenty-Five Twenty-One (Kdrama, 2022)
Iconic.
5. A Business Proposal (Kdrama, 2022)
Reminded me so much of old-school romcoms therefore, I was obsessed.
6. Reset (Cdrama, 2022)
Interesting and unique time travel/time loop drama.
7. The Bad Kids (Cdrama, 2020)
Watched this for the hype but I was kind of confused at the end.
8. Soundtrack #1 (Kdrama, 2022)
Friends to lovers supremacy.
9. Shining for One Thing (Cdrama, 2022)
Tries to answer the question: "If one thing had been different, would everything be different today?"
10. Dali and the Cocky Prince (Kdrama, 2021)
Solid romcom where both leads were rich.
11. Crazy Love (Kdrama, 2022)
Everything about this drama was crazy: the leads, the side characters, the plot but I didn't like this kind of crazy.
12. You Are My Heartbeat (Thai Drama, 2022)
Expected my heartbeat to go crazy watching this, but it really didn't.
13. The Oath of Love (Cdrama, 2022)
The key takeaway from this is that Xiao Zhan looks really good in modern clothes therefore he needs to do more modern dramas.
14. Sword Snow Stride (Cdrama, 2021)
Wuxia.
15 Who Rules the World (Cdrama, 2022)
Okay but the second half went downhill. Yang Yang needs to do more costume dramas.
16. Tomorrow (Kdrama, 2022)
Too simplistic approaches to mental health.
17. A River Runs Through It (Cdrama, 2021)
The one-sided love story went on for too long.
18. Love All Play (Kdrama, 2022)
Cute but it dragged.
19. Sh**ting Stars (Kdrama, 2022)
Interesting concept of having the story set in the entertainment industry but this was boring.
20. Woo Ri the Virgin (Kdrama, 2022)
I haven't watched a drama this bad for so long.
21. Bloody Heart (KDrama, 2022)
Bloody amazing cinematography but the story dragged because they kept replaying the same scene in different angles. Rooted for the villain.
22. Kiss Sixth Sense (KDrama, 2022)
They need to cast older actors and actresses in romcoms because the chemistry here was great. I didn't really like the ending though.
23. A Dream of Splendor (Cdrama, 2022)
One of my favorites from this year!
24. Dear M (KDrama, 2022)
Waited long to see this, was disappointed in the end.
25. Link: Eat, Love, Kill (KDrama, 2022)
Incorporated too much genre in one drama that the execution failed.
26. Love Like the Galaxy (Cdrama, 2022)
Red flags everywhere the biggest one being Li Bu Yi.
27, Love Between Fairy and Devil (Cdrama, 2022)
Xianxia drama of the year!
28. Big Mouth (Kdrama, 2022)
The second half wasn't as good as the first half. The ending was awful.
29. Today’s Webtoon (KDrama, 2022)
Should have been a 12 eps drama instead.
30. Animals (Jdrama, 2022)
Short but enjoyable.
31. Love in Contract (KDrama, 2022)
Got me out of a drama slump but this was a train wreck.
32. Lighter & Princess (Cdrama, 2022)
Objectively not the best, but I was obsessed over this during its whole run that I bought a Youku subscription.
33. New Life Begins (Cdrama, 2022)
Cute.
34. Bulgasal: Immortal Souls (KDrama, 2021)
Interesting concept but the writing just didn't make it work.
35. Snowdrop (Kdrama, 2021)
Decent.
36. Cheer Up (KDrama, 2022)
Went into this thinking it will be a cute youth drama but that weird mystery-thriller and love triangle ruined my watching experience.
37. May I Help You (KDrama, 2022)
1st half>2nd Half.
38. The Day of Becoming You (Cdrama, 2021)
Good body-swapping romance drama.
39. Summer Strike (Kdrama, 2022)
I was promised healing but the last 1/4 of the drama had a different tone from the rest.
40. Love In Time (Cdrama, 2022)
Interesting concept but mediocre.
41. She and Her Perfect Husband (Cdrama, 2022)
I wished they continued to show that mature relationship the leads had in the beginning until the end, but alas the last 10 eps happened and it just wasn't it.
42. Extraordinary Attorney Woo (KDrama, 2022)
An extraordinary drama about an extraordinary lawyer trying to find her place in the world. One of the best this year!
43. Rainless Love in a Godless Land (Taiwanese Drama, 2021)
The best thing about this drama is the title. Also, very unique and thought-provoking.
44. Alchemy of Souls Season 1 (Kdrama, 2022)
Might be the most interesting Hong sisters' fantasy drama yet.
