A RANT ABOUT THE ASPECT OF A CHARACTER THAT I DON'T SEE ANYONE TALK ABOUT AND THAT'S A CRIME

(past) Dream from Rewind. Rewind as in the dsmp fic yes yes.

This is gonna contain some heavy spoilers for Rewind! So yeah, be careful, it's worth figuring out yourself.

Alright, now, his situation is fucking horrifying to be in. I know, I know, he's not the main character and his whole thing lead to horrible abuse in the future, but we're talking about pat Dream here. The one from the timeline where Theo and Toby showed up at the election.

I mean it genuinely. He's stuck in a situation where his whole sense of being is being forcibly and rapidly separated into two horribly exaggerated versions of him, with a tint of his godly ancestors mixed in. And this process cannot be reversed or stopped. He can cling onto grounding himself with his friends all he wants, but it's never going to help him heal completely, only to slow down the process. And he has to choose between these two versions of him, who are him but they're also so painfully not. They're caricatures, exaggerations. One will make him strong and powerful and safe and secure (in a sense) but will force him to hurt his friends and everyone around him. And he doesn't want for that side to win, he has an example of what will happen if he does right at his side, constantly. Theo. But the other side is also not him. Not really. You might think that it's an obvious choice, choose the "good" side, but it's not. Because, sure, then he won't hurt anybody else, but he'll be painfully vulnerable, empathetic, weak (in a way) and sure, he has friends and support now, but world isn't kind. I'm sure there's a reason for why he became cruel in the first place. It's probably not a good one. And he doesn't have an example of what will happen if he chooses this side. The unknown is scary. But either way, what gets me the most is that there's really no good way out of this situation. Either way, he'll be twisted and torn into something inhuman, whatever way that might be. And it already started happening in the story. This information wasn't revealed to him before the tear happened, in the plot, it has already been going on for a bit. And he didn't even notice. Couldn't, probably. That's also scary. So he has to choose, with his fate as well as fate of another person now at his bidding. A person he hurt in the past, but also.. kinda not? From what I remember he starts getting flashbacks from the future too. Which means that it feels like it is all his fault and like he hurt Theo. Which is not entirely accurate either. So with all of these factors playing into it, it's a truly horrifying situation. For everyone involved.

Okay, that's all, just wanted to rant because obviously what Theo and Toby and basically everyone else went through is really fucking bad, I still felt the need to share my thoughts and emphasise.

ugh man i dream smp fandom was so cringey i wish we could leave it all behind not a single good thing came out of another crazy journey another chance to go and change the past but i know where the story will go cause all these legends i carry with me all these lifetimes that only i see im taken to this place in between where i’ve been and where i’ll be turn back time oh oh gonna hit rewind and find that all these memories discoveries these fantasies they stay with me turn back time oh oh gonna hit rewind remember all the tales of all the people that i meet cause i have to leave them all behind and then repeat

Alright, let's talk Rewind (or my MCYT fics)

i think it's time to finally talk about rewind/remix.

or generally, just my mcyt fics in general.

it's been a while since i updated any of them and trust me, i am very much FILLED WITH GUILT over not updating or continuing them- problem is; i just don't have any motivation in them at the moment. my interest and motivation for them have waned, wilted and withered. the three unfortunate ws that arent wins.

i dont want to say i abandoned them, i hate the thought of abandoning ANY STORY and i like the thought of getting back to them at some point. maybe my motivation will come back, it has in the past and that's a great hope to have.

however i am aware that these stories have been gathering dust and it's possible that motivation will never come back and i hate that.

i know partially why i'm no longer interested? partially- it mainly started with techno's death. it just didn't feel the same anymore now that cc!techno was gone, but if things went differently then maybe i could've continued just as normal. but i'm pretty sure my motivation took a great hit when techno died.

another great hit to my motivation is the whole... thing with cc!dream??? WHICH I WILL NEVER EVEN POKE ABOUT, YOU CANNOT MAKE ME, I WILL IGNORE EVERY ATTEMPT. it felt weird writing about c!dream even though i should REALLY be able to separate the two, cc!s are different from fictional c!s and all that but for some reason i just don't feel too comfy writing him right now.

and since my main series of rewind and remix is MAINLY RELATED TO DREAM- you can see my problem here.

the dream smp is done, over, there is no season 2 and my interest in this fandom is only tethered by the occasional fanfic that i stumble upon and the numerous fanarts that come and go. that interest isn't enough to motivate my writing.

a funny thought though, is that i think i spent a LOT of motivation and kind of burnt myself out in the future back when i was DAILY UPDATING REWIND- like i don't know if you readers remember but i was updating DAILY on rewind. every day, FOR ALMOST A MONTH- something that might never happen again really and i'm still kind of proud of that.

but i'm pretty sure it was very unhealthy of me to do daily updates the way i did- it took A POWER OUTAGE to make me stop doing daily updates and i remember STRESSING OVER NOT UPDATING while the power was out. so yeah, i'm pretty sure i set myself up for failure there XD

but i'm so glad that i was able to at least finish rewind. my very first story that i completed. unfortunately i'm not too confident about finishing the rest of the series (and some other fics).

a friend of mine actually suggested something that i've been thinking about from time to time; i give you guys the outline of what COULD have happened. what i was planning on writing and then completing my works.

it sounds like a good idea but i didn't want to let you guys down in just, giving up like that. but nowadays, it sounds like a better and better alternative than to just wait for my motivation and interest to come back. it's almost been a year already for wishes and family, and remix, i managed to update stream labs a few months ago so that's hopeful but the others...

okay, i'm going to give YOU GUYS the choice here. i'll tell the ao3 readers about it as an important update author's note, but im going to make a poll about this choice soon and i'll even pin it on my tumblr.

it'll last- maybe two weeks? but yeah, it's the least i can do to see what you guys want.

hello I have so many AU thoughts,

first and foremost my brain HATES time travel AUs with a desperate passion, and like, it's funny to me because I'm so good with other non-realistically elements or major changes, but my brain says that Time Travel Is Fake And makes Everything Meaningless (with the exception of like, Tales of the SMP style time travel, where it's not really time travel is time tourism. I'm okay with looking into the past, I just don't like the idea of people being able to change things). I've had to block AUs that I otherwise would've liked because they had time travel and my brain just will not get on board with it. That being said I have a great deal of respect for everyone doing time travel aus. I wish I could join you but my brain holds me prisoner.

On the flip side, I really like AUs that keep sort of a similar feel to the original work, but give a hard setting change or just allow for some chaos to be thrown in there. I also really like AUs that blend DSMP & manhunt because the vibes are perfect, and also I think that every version of c!Dream deserves to have men chasing him whereever he goes.

ohhh this is a good take- I do have to ask, do time loop aus fall under the general time travel stuff? or stories that kinda work like Life Is Strange, where a character can rewind and redo?

manhunt meets dsmp my absolute beloved, I remember when it was a lot more common to see these two combined, it's such a wonderful trope, especially when George and Sapnap dig out their old dusty compasses from the bottom of their chests to go hunt their man down- I mean to find and capture Dream

I probably needed to write this somewhere before I forget. For a while there, Technoblade was probably the closest thing to a friend I had. I discovered his channel because I wanted to get into the Dream SMP fandom and his perspective seemed the most interesting based off of the actions that summary channels have described. One of the first videos I watched was “stabbing famous youtubers in minecraft for $10,000″ and I was riveted. 

His appeal for me was how he talked like he was in a conversation. Most youtubers speak; they address that there is no direct response waiting for them, so their tone comes out feeling like they are on a stage. Whether they are giving an impassioned rant on a soapbox or dangling their feet off some bleachers and musing about life is what differentiates them. Technoblade is looking you in the eye when you watch his videos. He is making wild hand gestures while he talks about potato farming. You can see his expressions when talking about an essay one eating babies. You get to see all of that and when you go to rewind your memory, each bit plays like a precious, significant moment with a close friend. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never met him, it still welcomes you.

It’s how he seemed to have a subtle, thrumming energy about him, how his voice could be so monotone, but so absolutely expressive, how his passions bled into his “HEH?”s and his commentary on random minecraft logistics.

He voiced what I have thought a lot of the time. He had similar habits to me. He would make a blunder in his english that I could remember making on countless occasions, and he’d stop and correct himself and acknowledge it like I wish I could have done. Even though I could not and probably would not have ever interacted with him, he made me feel more comfortable than most people in my life have.

So thank you, Technoblade.

At sixteen years old, Tommyinnit knew a lot of things.

I absolutely loved this fic, the time travel and flashbacks were so good, the worldbuilding is absolutely amazing and the whole story had me on the edge of my seat the entire time ^^

Hallo, I just wanted to let you know that from the sources I have gathered the latest streams of content creators about the Egg being back have ended with the whole server being destroyed, infected and beyond repair.

Along with it's people living with it. It seems you as a writer accidentally predicted the ending of Egg lore for Dream SMP Season 1 with Rewind future timeline fanfic, and to be honest i am so fucking shocked to learn this.
