Alright I saw @madabapf's recent update (part 19) of their comic and I have some commentary.

I am making this post because I ran out of images in the ask I was drafting.

Also madabapf please let me know if you'd prefer I didn't do commentary posts. I don't wanna break your boundaries as per The Artists' Code™ of solidarity and mutual respect.

Some shenanigans/moments with Zhao and those clowns- I mean the brotherhood?

Let's start off with the fact that they kinda, sorta kidnapped her- Or at least Wukong did. (They needed a magic user in their DND party leave them alone-)

And then Azure is like “Da fuck????”, though I honestly think the others (maybe minus Yellow Tusk) would be vibing with the plan.

So they choose to let keep here there for a bit. During that time Azure and she vibed a bit and,,, she might be developing a little crush- Also before anyone says, it's not fucking Stockholm syndrome or something.

Azure was genuinely kind towards her and he wasn't vibing with the whole kidnapping thing. That was Wukong's idea and the other's just went with it.

Not to mention they developed a genuine friendship.

Anyways yadaydaudaayfaa they try to destroy her home and she feels betrayed or something yadafadaadfaafaffa-

Anyways, some shenanigans before the betray and all that angst?

Zhao was the OG shadowpeach shipper. She'd always make gags and tease them about it. And Azure was absolutely going with the flow. Also I think Yellow Tusk and her would've absolutely gotten along!

Wukong would annoy her to the core though-

They all definitely would do feasts and get horribly drunk. Though, Zhao hardly actually gets drunk. So I can just imagine her sipping her wine, sassily crossed legs, as the drunken brotherhood causes chaos-

Also a bit off topic/not brotherhood related but I imagine her and PIF getting along. Since Zhao's backstory time line is basically:

Living with her Tiger Spirit Lineage (While practicing Magic at the Same Time) -> Goes to live in the Celestial Realm -> Brotherhood Era -> JTTW era -> LMK starts

(it's a whole ass rainbow lmao)

And considering PIF was also a Celestial, it's not totally shocking that they could've known each other.

I actually have a post going into one of his problems (This one right here :>), which is "He feels like he has no one"

Yes, his relationship with Chang'e is healthy, but even she is a bit of an immature caretaker at times. (I love that woman to death but come on-)

He knows is probably because of his nuisance-y personality, but goddamn it, why can't his ass bring himself to change??

Besides that no real trauma, unless you count Azure's takeover of heaven and killing of the Jade Emperor. But I'd say that kinda traumatized everyone- He found the Jade Emperor to be a bit of a kill-joy, but that was till his buddy- He liked teasing him.

And no matter how wrong the Jade Emperor could've been at times, no matter how much he resented Yue at times, no matter how much Yue wouldn't like to admit it... He was a good Emperor.

Now, Yue's problems aren't a huge focus on the Zhao AU, if anything there's merely hinted but I never explore them.

But sometimes it really is fun to dig deeper and go into their minds >:D

Love the thought of c!Peng and Azure also pining for the c!shadowpeach, but could you imagine c!Macaque trying to fix his relationship with the c!brotherhood in the canon universe after all the shenanigans gets resolved (Jade Emperor Azure etc.)and ending up the closest to Azure because they have more similarities than they initially thought. And he goes to sundown universe and just absolutely blasts SD!Azure's ear off about all these cool things he learned and how Azure would probably like some of them. And just SD!Azure just being so confused, SD!Peng ans SD!Wukong being jealous, C!Wukong proud Mac is coming out of his shell and SD!Mac just being shocked at how casually this version of him is being playful towards SD!Azure.

Like:

SD!Mac: What r u doing!? He's a threat to our marriage—!

C!Mac: What? Pfft, no..! He's just a silly cat. Dude is a total softy, he likes neck scratches, he let's me do it to him.

SD!Azure: *too shock to operate* I-I what..?

C!Mac: You're totally adorable, big guy. Pretty warm too. *pats him casually* I should've really gotten to know you more. Can't wait to get home and have that night drink with you, you're a cuddler when you're drunk too. Had to call Peng to get you off of me. I'm a tiny guy, big guy, be more careful with me *laughs and sighs* I miss that lion... Mine, my Azure, my world's Azure that is... Not you, well, technically you?

SD!Azure: ... Your... Your Azure..?

SD!Peng and SD!Wukong: *cracks their knuckles and looks at c!Wukong*

C!Wukong: *puts his hands up in defense* In my defense, I didn't know Azure is a cuddler. I'm on your side, I'm mad as well. That should've been me—

In addition, C!Mac is, unlike SD!Mac, aware that C!Peng HAD a crush on him (Peng doesn't anymore) , so he would actively make Wukong jealous while C!Peng being better besties now helps him out. So C!Mac assumed it's the same in this universe, that SD!Peng no longer has a crush on SD!Mac and playfully flirts with him to make C!Wukong mad but because this Peng still does actually have a crush on him, it's just all around chaos for everyone. And C!Mac doesn't even know it.

OOOOO THAT IS FUN!! Love the idea of c! Macaque and c!Azure being besties and that just shocks everyone considering the start of their relationship was really just non existent

Notes: Very much inspired by Drunk Adora from She Ra. I kinda got this idea after @herhighnesstheprincess suggested MK might come from a demon/magic family while discussing MK’s family over at @ninja-knox-ur-sox-off.

Uhm. Hello, I just wanted to say thank you SO much for this amazing Shadowpeach/lmk comic, it has seriously gotten me in trouble(goes on Tumblr in class to read ur new post) and since it started it has given me something to look forwards to. So yeah, thanks again for this ⭐️AMAZING⭐️ comic

i hope no one's disappointed he didn't actually kill anybody lmao while i do think he would've acted differently when he was younger, present wukong had a lot of time to mature emotionally and get a hold of his temper probably been a while since he even had intrusive thoughts like this which says a lot if you ask me
