Sora's Heart Hotel as DigiDestineds:

Sora Caelum has the Crests of Hope (coz he's good at giving people hope &, before Xehanort finally succeeds in shattering Sora, the enbe's good at hoping for a nice future) and Wrath (he loses themself in rage many times, but learns to channel it constructively). Her Digimon partner's nickname is Sky (in honour of Sora's biological mum Skye Caelum née Rangi). Sky's digivolution line consists of: Botamon; Wanyamon; Liollmon; Leomon or Rukamon/Dolphmon; ViciousMeicrackmon (when digivolving from Leomon) or Mermaimon (when digivolving from Rukamon/Dolphmon); ClavisAngemon (when matrix digivolving with Sora). Whenever Sky digivolves, the Crest of Hope or the Crest of Wrath (depending on which trait the duo emotionally connected over at the time) appears on the screen of Sora's digivice; whenever a digivolution fails due to the partners not being in sync with each other or having issues they haven't even tried to resolve, nothing happens.

Naminé Caelum has the Crests of Knowledge (coz they is good at using their knowledge of others to their advantage and gladly shares their information on various things with other people) and Envy (coz their jealousy over others' friendships, fuelled by loneliness & being abused, prompts them to make some cruel decisions before they redeems themself). Naminé's Digimon partner's nickname is Kioku. Kioku's digivolution line consists of: Dokimon; Budmon; Diarimon; Sorcerimon/Sorcermon; Fantomon/Phantomon; Gokumon/Reapermon.

Roxas Takirua has the Crests of Knowledge (coz he always wants to learn things, to understand both how stuff works and why other people make the decisions they do) and Wrath (coz he has a hot temper that bursts out whenever he's confused and especially when someone is being cruel to him or his friends). His Digimon partners' nicknames are Hikari & Yami. Hikari's digivolution line consists of: YukimiBotamon; Nyaromon; Plotmon/Salamon; Tailmon/Gatomon; Angewomon; Mastemon. Yami's consists of: Botamon; Nyaromon; Shalamon (which doesn't exist in canon); BlackTailmon/BlackGatomon; LadyDevimon; Mastemon. Hikari & Yami are twins who jogress digivolve (a.k.a. fusion of two Digimon, in this case done as Angewomon & LadyDevimon respectively) to reach their Mega form, neither of them matrix digivolving with Roxas; whereas all of the others' Digimon partners reach Mega by fusing with their respective human partners. Mastemon is the strongest of the six Mega Level Digimon, due to being the result of two Ultimates combining their power.

Shion Takirua (formerly Xion, originally No.i) has the Crests of Courage (coz she does what she believes is right despite feeling scared) and Pride (her tendency to make a decision on other people's behalf, although well-intentioned, is arrogant as she – before eventually growing out of it – believes her solution is best for everyone instead of asking others what they want to do). Her Digimon partner's nickname is Pūmahara. Pūmahara's digivolution line consists of: Botamon; Tsumemon; Copipemon; NoirSistermon (called Sistermon Noir in canon); ChoHakkaimon (called Cho-Hakkaimon in canon); Ofanimon/Ophanimon.

Vanitas Ducimus has the Crests of Sincerity (coz ze's always honest, though ze does sometimes say genuine things whilst knowing other people will accidentally misinterpret zir words as zir choice of words was specifically done to manipulate them) and Greed (ze wants a lot of things, willing to steal and even kill to get them). Zir Digimon partner's nickname is Dusk. Dusk's digivolution line consists of: Cocomon/Conomon; Chocomon/Kokomon; Lopmon; Wendimon; Baalmon; Murmukusmon. Dusk is Dawn's twin.

Ventus "Ven" Aurora has the Crests of Kindness (coz he's a nice person who wants to help other people – random strangers included – and is loyal to his friends along with learning eventually to be reliable) and Sloth (one of the things Ven learns during his adventures is that trying to avoid thinking 'bout bad things by slacking off with new acquintances & leaving responsibilities for other people to take care of is selfish). Ven's Digimon partner's nickname is Dawn. Dawn's digivolution line consists of: Zerimon; Gummymon; Terriermon; Darcmon; PriestHolyAngemon (called HolyAngemon Priest/MagnaAngemon Priest in canon); FatedDestinyRapidmon (called Golden Rapidmon X in canon). Dawn is Dusk's twin.

It was official. The I’s were dotted, the T’s were crossed, her name was signed in flowy ink at the bottom of the page. There was no going back now.

Noelle was just about ready to kill Asta.

Now, she wasn’t going to kill him literally, but she could kill him for not listening to her.

She nagged him to go to bed, but the boy didn’t listen. Instead he trained from dusk to dawn, refusing to get a wink of sleep that night.

And oh how Karma had now come to bite him in the ass…

Captain Yami was giving another lecture on the importance of mission successes. He explained the star system, and how the Bulls were record setters for their negative stars.

Asta tried his damndest to fight the inevitable sleep that was threatening to overtake him. His head lolled forward with every passing moment as his eyes repeatedly closed.

The royal took notice of his barely conscious state. With a swift scooch to her right, (which when asked, she blamed it on a bug) Noelle sat directly next to her teammate.

“Asta,” she hissed. “Wake up.”

The ash-haired boy opened his eyes with a light gasp and a jolt. He looked at Noelle with panic in his eyes, but relaxed when he remembered where he was. “Oh, hi Noelle.”

The water mage sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Asta, I told you to get some sleep,” she spat in a hushed tone.

“Was busy,” the boy replied, a yawn ripping from his throat. “Had to train, then do chores.”

Noelle frowned lightly in sympathy. She knows what it’s like to have sleepless nights, albeit for different reasons. Her nerves keep her up for nights on end, and Asta is always there to hold her and stay with her until she feels safe.

Naturally, she decided that it’s only fair that she helps him as he does for her. She just wondered how she should do it…

The water mage had little time to plan, however, as she noticed the anti-magic user drifting off once more. His head lolled around his neck as it became as heavy as a brick. “Hey,” she muttered. “You’ve gotta stay awake or else Captain Yami will kill you.” she gave a gentle squeeze to Asta’s knee.

What Noelle wasn’t expecting was Asta to jump with the slightest squeak. “H-Hey… no’do that,” he slurred. “Tickles.”

‘Tickles, eh?’ Noelle thought to herself. Perhaps now she knew how to keep her teammate awake. She sighed as she wrapped her arm around the sleepy boy’s waist, resting a hand on his hip.

The plan was working well. If Captain Yami looked their way, she would give the ash-blonde a ticklish squeeze, instantly waking him up for a few seconds. Eventually, Asta was more alert, and giggling slightly every time he was squeezed.

“N-Noehehelle… plehehehehease.” The anti-magic user whimpered, a yawn following after. “Ihihim awahahahake. Ihihi swehehear.”

“Shhh, pay attention.” The girl soothed, bringing her hand up to squeeze just under his bottom ribs.

A choked yelp echoed as Noelle realized she may have just tweaked a bad spot. Eyes fell on them, and she felt her face heat up.

“You two wanna stop playing and pay attention? Surely you can wait five minutes to torment your teammate, Noelle.” Yami’s gruff voice cut through the awkwardness in the air. The girl could do nothing but nod in reply, embarrassment hit on her cheeks.

Yami returned to his lecture, and the attention left the pair.

“Hehe, that’s what you get!” The boy teased.

“Asta I will torment you for the next ten minutes if you don’t shut up. That I promise you.”

“Is that a threat? I bet you wouldn’t carry it out,” the magicless Bull teased.

Game on, Asta…

The girl simply smiled, adjusting herself to sit behind her companion. She placed her hands on his lower ribs and waited patiently. She leaned in close to his ear. “You don’t have a single clue as to what kind of monster you’ve just created.”

The ash-blonde’s face flushed as he squirmed a bit in her hold. “I-I was kidding. Don’t HNGH- D-D-Don’t ti-hihickle mehehehe.”

Noelle smiled evilly as she began to softly tweak the ribs under her fingers. “What do you mean, Asta? You need to stay awake and listen to captain Yami.” She replied in a hushed tone.

“N-Noelle.” Asta replied through gritted teeth, “I promise I’ll stay awake.”

“Are you sure? You look a little tired…” the water mage gently raked her fingers up and down the boy’s back.

Asta fought to keep his laughter in, only light giggles escaping him as his Noelle listened to Yami’s explanation with innocence.

Noelle kept Asta on his toes, opting to switch between pinching his hips, and prodding at his ribs. The ash-blonde boy could barely maintain his composure, weakly grabbing at Noelle’s wrists. His tired state weakened his reflexes, and he finally fell backwards against her and giggled quietly.

After another three minutes of Noelle’s agonizing touches, Yami broke the group from their meeting. The girl smiled with a ring of menace and moved her hands up to the top of Asta’s ribs. Finally, his true laughter came pouring out.

“Nohohoehehelle!! Hehehey!” The anti-magic user whined, arching away from her fingers. “Nohohot fahahahair!”

“Plenty fair! This is what you get for not going to sleep. And what about me not being able to carry it out?”

“Okahahahay! Ihihihi gihihive uhuhup! Nohohoho mohohore!”

It’s a fond smile, Noelle lifted her attack and gently rubbed at the spot she had just been touching previously.

The magicless boy went quiet, his eyes closing against his will. Relishing in the foreign feeling of contact, Asta was quickly out like a light.

“Okay, now you need to go to sleep,” the water mage reported. “I doubt that you’ve slept for more than 24 hours.”

No reply came from Asta, leading Noelle to exhale fondly. “Okay, let’s go, you big lug.” With a great deal of effort, she managed to place the boy on her back and trudge off to his room. Noelle laid him down on his bed, and attempted to leave.

However, a big resistance pulled her backwards. Looking downward, she noticed Asta’s arms wrapped around her waist, and pulling her back toward him. It’s a blushing face, she sat down next to him. He effortlessly pulled her close to him, resulting in a yelp from the girl.

Noelle sighed as she began to run her fingers through Asta’s hair.

Maybe a little nap wouldn’t hurt.

🎸🎤 HEX GIRL HEADCANONS 🎤🎸

Before forming a band together, each member had a miniature career of their own. Luna was a pretty popular online figure for her performances at bars and restaurants, Dusk went viral a few times from her rave shows, and Thorn had a history of starring in plays and talent shows all her life. They eventually found each other online and began talking, and after Thorn and Dusk immigrated to the U.S., they formed a band.

Although they live in America, Luna is the only one who was born there. She's Creole and was raised in New Orleans, Thorn is French-Candian and from Ontario, and Dusk is Japanese and from Kyoto. Due to where they grew up, they all speak different languages as well. Luna is fluent in Spanish and French, Thorn was raised speaking French just as much as English and knows a bit of Italian, and Dusk's first language is Japanese and she's fluent in JSL. They all began learning ASL after forming a band since Dusk is deaf in one ear and hard-of-hearing in her other.

Thorn's real name is Sally McKnight, Luna's is Selene Moon, and Dusk's is Twilight Yami. Thorn picked her name due to her love of roses, whereas Luna and Dusk simply picked names that have the same meaning as their own.

Due to her hearing loss, Dusk doesn't wear shoes when practicing or performing. When coming up with songs, Thorn doesn't wear shoes either since she claims it helps her feel closer to the music. Luna sometimes doesn't and says it's for the same reason but it's actually just because her boots hurt her feet after a while.

They each base their personas after different horror monster icons. Thorn's is Dracula, Luna's is the werewolf, and Dusk is inspired by both Frankenstein monsters. They also have very different gothic styles; Thorn being more of a romantic vampire goth with some witchy accents, whereas Luna is a trad and corp goth with lots of glam, and Dusk being more in the visual kei and metalhead scene with some cyber and bubble goth inspiration.

Thorn is known for being a bit of a bachelorette and dates anyone ranging from a trucker to a theater kid who thinks he's a vampire. Luna and Dusk, however, are in a relationship that they keep private from fans. Luna is a lesbian, Dusk is bisexual, and Thorn doesn't feel the need to label her sexuality.

Their fans often get into heated arguments over the girls' heights since Dusk is typically shoeless and the other wears heels. Thorn typically looks pretty tall since she's in the front and wears high heels, with Luna looking about the same in her boots behind her keyboard, whereas Dusk looks the shortest while barefoot and sitting down to play the drums; but the truth is Thorn is only about 5'4, Dusk is 5'8, and Luna is just over 5'10.

Their fans have nicknames for them based off of different creatures, with Thorn being called a succubus due to her seductive voice and dancing, Dusk being compared to a banshee since most of her back-up vocals are screams and her unhinged drumming, and Luna being recognized for her werewolf persona due to long nails, canine fangs, and loud howl-like laughter.

Rather than visiting a salon, they have nights every few weeks were they touch up their hair. Dusk is albino with naturally platinum hair which makes it so she she has to redye her hair every so often, whereas Luna and Thorn have to actually go through the process of bleaching their hair. Dusk typically dyes her hair a darker blonde or adds different shades of green streaks, Luna switches between dark red and blonde every so often, and Thorn either dyes her naturally brown hair black or bleaches it to make it a bright red — sometimes a combination of both.

They're all university students who avoid actually attending classes by taking online courses. Thorn is majoring in envoirmental science with a business minor, Dusk is a literature major studying philosophy, and Luna is in the process of graduating art school.

Thorn is most inspired by bands like She Wants Revenge and London After Midnight, whereas Dusk takes more after Malice Mizer and Bikini Kill, and Luna is one of the biggest fans of The Cure and the Bauhaus.

They regularly go on adventures together to places that are regarded as haunted or cursed. While on tour in different countries, they make it a habit to try and visit any attractions they haven't seen yet. Thorn particular likes haunted castles and cemeteries, Dusk is interested in asylums and prisons, and Luna is obsessed with any place that has a tragic backstory.

While Thorn is relatively good friends with Daphane due to their shared love of fashion and past romantic interests in Velma, and Dusk enjoys terrifying Shaggy and Scooby, Luna and Fred are actually able to have normal conversations

They love getting together with the Mystery Gang when possible. When she's not flirting with Velma, Thorn spends her time with Daphne talking about fashion and gossiping about their past experiences with stupid boys. Luna is also pretty good friends with Fred and they could have conversations for hours about random niche interests. Dusk and Velma have a shared passion for gothic literature and Velma also enjoys watching Dusk terrify Shaggy and Scooby when she's bored.

14) What are your favorite music genres?

I mostly like old folk songs that I picked up from my mom and dad. My dad didn't know that many songs and none of them fit in with "normal" music, as far as I can tell. My mom knew songs that sound, well, more musical. I chalk that up to there being a musician in the family a few generations back.

I kinda know "classical" music. But that's just 'cause I like to dance to that kind of sound.

18) What’s the best way to cheer you up?

I cheer up the most when I spend time with my friends. The exact activity changes with whoever I hang out with, but as long as I'm with a friend, my day gets brighter.

I go out social dancing with Finral (he makes an excellent leader or follower, by the way). Gordon, Gauche, and Grey like to set up tea or coffee with lots of snacks to cheer me up. Noelle and Yami train with me to cheer me up. And when all the girls get together to cheer me up, it's basically a make over day for all of us.

21) Describe your ideal partner.

Hrm. I've never really been truly attracted to anyone other than Morgen or Nacht. I've fancied people in passing but... Nevermind.

If I had to put it into words, my ideal partner is someone who is kind to their very core. That kindness can be apparent or buried deep down, so long as it's there, I'm happy. They'd be someone who puts their best into what they do, even if they have to take time to find the will to do so. My ideal partner should be someone I've known for years and find incredibly easy to love, as in if I'm asked about my love for them, my answer is out the second the question is asked.

I guess ideally, my partner would be skilled enough to go hunting with me and neither Faust has been able to do that. But I honestly prefer Morgen and Nacht the way they are over any imagined perfect partner in my head.

22) What’s the easiest way to flirt with you?

O-oh? Well... Morgen and Nacht both have different pet names for me and all of them make my heart flutter a bit. Morgen calling me his "heart" was honestly the most romantic thing in the world. The sound of his voice and the look of his eyes when he said "my heart"... I miss those a lot... Nacht has lots of pet names for me too. "Darling," "my star," "my angel." He says them so sweetly that I just melt!

I guess another tactic to easily flirting with me is giving little kisses here and there. Long kisses are nice but the those quick pecks are playful and leave me wanting for more later~!

5) What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

I train! Whether it's with magic or weapons, I like to make sure I'm at the top of my game! Sure it tires me out but a snack and a shower is enough to bounce me back! Besides, I like to think I look super cool when I train!

I especially love training with my friends and siblings! They've got some awesome spells and it's fun to see them improving too!

7) Who do you look up to?

Oh that's an easy question. I look up to Mother and Father are my main role models of course! I gotta be strong like Mother and I wanna be as clever as Father one day.

Ms. Charlotte, Ms. Noelle, and Ms. Mereoleona too. They're all brave and strong and amazing people who can't be stopped by anything at all! And though I don't really know Uncle Morgen, the fact that I have the same attribute kinda makes me feel like I should live up to the legacy he left behind (you know, minus the evil paladin stuff...)

Anyone who is cool and strong and nice is someone I think it worth looking up to honestly!

5) What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

Read mostly. Fantasy novels, "writing for dummies" sorts of books, gaming rulebooks and modules...

And I write a bit too, but it's nothing special. My friends think the stories I come up with are good, but they're the one doing most of the work by being the heroes.

7) Who do you look up to?

I'd say that my biggest role model in life in Lord Fuegoleon Vermillion. He's a dignified man with strong morals. He's a lot more outspoken than I am but he doesn't have to raise his voice to command respect. I... Don't want to be in the spotlight him, not at all. But I would like to have his confidence one day...

Mrs. Adlai was apparently like me back in the day so I look up to her to reassure me that I won't be a coward forever.

I also look up to Uncle Morgen and the kindness that Mother and Father say he had.

And I guess... Father too. We weren't always close but... He's not good at showing he cares, like me. Still, he protects and loves those he cares about with all his might and even if his best isn't always enough, he tries. I... can't deny that he's a good man.

Do you want to know how I made the title screen?

- Actually not.

CORRECT! So now I'll tell you:

Step 1: I created a background using different textures - to be specific, these are from Sozaiya Mimimi and Kokushi;

Step 2: I drew the draft on paper, then I scanned it and slapped it onto the background;

Step 3: I resized the draft accordingly and did the actual drawing with colors and all;

Step 4: Shadows!

Step 5: I added the title and the controls. I used the Vertical Custom Command script by Yami World. (Obviously in the English version they will be in English. By the way, they mean "at dusk", "at midnight", "at dawn".)

I really like how it turned out, it seems like an actual RPG Maker game’s title screen! (... ?)

Lies, Puns, and the Wishing Tree

Hiya everyone! So instead of working on requests today…I decided to be self indulgent 🤭. This oneshot mainly focuses on Next Gens with brief mentions of a couple of canon characters, and I tried my best to include as many as possible but mainly focused on a few (If you want, you’re more than welcome to say what your next gens would be doing during the star festival 🥰). I hope you all enjoy~!

“ Oh my, don’t you look handsome,” Zera Cassia said as she looked at her eldest son, Alistar, who was currently looking at himself in a full length mirror.

“ Gotta hot date?” She asked him playfully, and watched as his face turned bright red.

“ No, I don’t have a ‘hot date’,” He told her after he cleared his throat. “ I’m going to the Star Festival with some of the others to hang out.”

“ I see,” Zera walked up to him, turned him towards her, and began to fix his shirt and Golden Dawn robes. “ I take it Hikari’s going to be there as well?”

Alistar cleared his throat and turned away as his face turned red again.

“ Of course she is, she’s part of our friend group too…” He told her softly, and his mother smirked.

“ Ah, so that’s why you’re dressing extra nice tonight, to impress Hikari.” She told him teasingly.

“ N-No!” He denied with a shake of his head. “ I wanted to dress nicely for the Star Ceremony, since it would be unbefitting for the Captain of the Golden Dawn to dress shabbily.” He told her, she nodded quickly.

“ Uh-huh, I see, I see. So this has absolutely nothing to do with Hikari?” She asked with a raised brow.

“ None at all.”

“ Then why are you wearing the Spider Lily pin she gave you for your birthday?” Zera asked curiously, and instantly Alistar’s hand shot up to try and conceal the pin.

She wasn’t supposed to see that…

As he opened his mouth to explain another voice chimed in.

“ Dear, are you trying to play matchmaker with our son and his best friend?” Alistar’s father, William Vangeance, asked as he walked into his eldest child’s room.

Zera turned towards her husband.

“ Maybe~!” She told him playfully, a bright smile working its way onto her face. “ If I was, can you really blame me? I mean; they would be soo cute together!”

“ You just want an excuse to be in-law’s with the Yami’s.” William stated matter of factly, and his wife shook her head.

“ Nu-uh, although that is a bonus now that I think about it,” She muttered in thought, making both Alistar and William sigh and shake their heads. “ But that isn’t why I want them to be together!”

“ I just…I see how happy the two of you are when you’re around each orher, how much you both care for one another, and it makes me want to see you together.” She admitted softly, her eyes moving to the floor shyly.

“ You realize that friends can be happy and care for one another like Hikari and I do, right?” Alistar asked her, and Zera looked up at him.

“ I know that! It’s just that I think you two would be much better as a couple than just friends!” She told him as she crossed her arms and pouted.

Alistar sighed, he knew his mother had the best of intentions when she was being pushy like this. All she wanted for her children was for them to be happy, healthy, and to have all the best things in the world.

He leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

“ I appreciate your concern, mother, I really do,” He told her softly as he placed his hands on her shoulders. “ But Hikari and I are just close friends and nothing more; I care about her as a friend would, not as a boyfriend would. There’s absolutely no romantic feelings between us.”

“ Really?” She asked skeptically as she leaned forward to inspect her eldest son’s face.

“ Really.” He confirmed with a nod, and Zera hummed.

“ So; if Hikari were to meet someone else tonight, fall in love with them, and start dating them, you would have absolutely no problem with that?” She asked curiously, her head tilting slightly.

Alistar suddenly felt a sharp pang in his chest at her question. This was the second time someone had asked him that, the first one being his other friend Leonidas Vermillion, who asked him something similar during one of their outings at a mixer a few weeks ago…

“ If that were to happen,” He began slowly. “ Then I would be happy for her. After all, doesn’t everyone deserve to fall in love and be happy?” He asked as his most charming smile, or his mask as he liked to call it, slipped onto his face.

As the lie left his lips, he couldn’t help but feel sick. If that were to happen, he would be devastated. He loved Hikari, and had for a long time. But he had always been too afraid to say anything to her about it; he valued her friendship, and didn’t want it to be affected negatively if something were to happen and they broke up.

So he’s kept his feelings to himself for over 12 years…

Zera’s eyes narrowed, a skeptical look in them as she studied his face. Eventually she closed her eyes and released a defeated sigh.

“ Fine, fine, you win,” She told him as she raised her hands in defeat. “ I’m going to go see if your siblings are ready.”

Zera walked away, but stopped when she stood beside William and said: “ See if you can convince him to confess to Hikari tonight!” before walking out of the room.

Alistar and William looked at each other as the room fell silent.

“ She means well.” William explained softly, and his son nodded.

“ I know.”

“ She’s just worried about you and your happiness.”

“ I know, and I appreciate it,” Alistar said with a sigh as he rubbed the back of his head. “ I just wish she wouldn’t worry so much about me; she has four other kids she should worry about too.”

“ She does worry about them,” William told him as he crossed his arms. “ But not as much as she worries about you.”

“ Because unlike my siblings I’m special and her favorite?” Alistar asked jokingly, and his father chuckled.

“ Exactly,” William replied, making his son laugh as well.

It was a well known fact that Zera, while genuinely loving all of her children, was especially partial to Alistar since the two of them had nearly died when she gave birth to him. She worried about him more, spoiled him a bit more, loved him just a bit more…

He was her favorite.

“ Do,” William began hesitantly as the room fell silent again. “ Do you really not have feelings for Hikari?”

Alistar looked at his father quietly for a moment, before nodding.

“ I don’t have feelings for her, we’re just good friends,” Alistar lied, his usual, charming smile appearing on his face.

William nodded slowly.

“ Alright, I just thought I would ask,” He said before turning around. “ I’ll let you finish getting ready.” He added as he walked out of the room, leaving his son standing there by himself.

As soon as the door clicked shur Alistar let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding and his hand reached up to rub the back of his head again.

This really sucked!

“ Alright everyone, are you ready to go?” Zera asked her children as they stood before her.

“ Yes!”

“ Now remember; have fun, be safe, and don’t do anything I would do,” She instructed them. “ And if you do, make sure to use protection!”

Her children groaned.

“ What? I’m so sorry that I don’t want any grandchildren right now!” She told them while throwing a pointed look at her second oldest child, Sebastian.

“ Why are you looking at me like that?!” He exclaimed.

“ Because out of all my children you would be the one most likely to make me a grandmother before I’m ready!” She pointed out, her blue eyes narrowing at him.

“ Do you have no faith in me?” He asked, his tone sounding hurt even though he really wasn’t.

“ None.” She replied bluntly, making the other chuckle.

“ So I know we’re supposed to wear condoms and take potions if we decide to have sex with someone,” Daisy began as she raised her hand. “ But what about if we decide to hold hands? Should we use protection then?”

The room chuckled, knowing fully well that Daisy was joking with her question.

“ Oh, in that situation you must certainly use protection,” Zera told her, playing along.

Sunni, Daisy’s twin, suddenly raised her hand.

“ What kind of protection should we use if we decide to kiss someone?” She asked, and William’s eyes instantly narrowed.

“ You’re too young to be kissing,” He told her sternly, and his gaze shifted as another hand shot up.

“ Am I allowed to kiss someone?” Mavis, the youngest, asked innocently.

William quickly shook his head.

“ No. You’re way too young to be kissing anyone!”

“ But I’m sixteen?” She pointed out, and Sunni nodded.

“ Yeah, and Daisy and I are eighteen!” Sebastain nodded.

“ Exactly, they’re all of age now, dad!” He pointed out. “ Since Clover’s majority age is fifteen Mavis could easily go out and get married without needing anyone’s permission-.”

The rest of the sentence died in Sebastian’s throat as he saw the glare his parents were giving him.

“ Anyway,” Daisy interrupted with a clap of her hands. “ We should get going before we’re late!”

“ Alright, be careful and watch out for each other!” Zera instructed her children as she gave them all a kiss on the cheek.

“ We’ll meet at the Ceremony, right?” He asked his children, and they all nodded.

“ Right!”

The Vangeance children bid their parents goodbye and left the Golden Dawn base to head to Kikka for the Star Festival.

At the Star Festival

As soon as the Vangeance siblings arrived in Kikka they split up to find their respective friend groups.

Alistar walked along the stone streets, passing by various food and item stalls as he did. Usually Hikari was working at the Black Bulls food stall with her father Captain Yami, but this year he decided to give her the night off so she could hang out with her friends.

It had been a surprise, but not an unpleasant one.

As he maneuvered through the crowd and his gaze drifted to the various stalls, his mind began to wander. It was odd that Captain Yami would give Hikari the night off, and it was odd how pushy his mother was about having him confess to her…he frowned; were the two of them trying to get him and Hikari together?!

Alistar quickly shook that thought from his mind. There was no way they would be doing that; especially Captain Yami. He would rather crush Alistar’s skull with his bare hand before he would ever allow them to date; especially after what happened that night.

He shuddered as the terrible, and embarrassing memory, from a few weeks ago resurfaced. How could he ever dream of confessing to Hikari after that?!

“ Alistar! Over here!” A familiar voice that always made his heart flutter shouted, and he slowly turned to see the girl he was just thinking about standing there.

Hikari waved her hands above her head and waved him over to the picnic table she and the others were sitting at.

He smiled his usual smile and gave a small wave as he walked over to them.

“ You’re late,” Leon Vermillion said as he took a sip of his drink. Alistar sat down across from him.

“ My apologies,” He apologized, using his formal voice. “ But leaving the base with my siblings was like trying to herd a bunch of cats.”

Leon chuckled.

“ I can only imagine,” He took another sip. “ I assume your mother gave you the usual ‘protection’ speech?”

“ Always.” The pair chuckled.

“ Your mother seems very…adamant about SexEd,” Noureen Silva said as he crossed his arms. “ She should host a seminar or something.”

“ Ooh she should, and my mom could help her!” Avalinia Silva said brightly from beside him.

“ I think all of our moms would pitch in and help her!” Dawn Faust agreed.

“ But wouldn’t it be embarrassing for our moms to be teaching our friends and peers the do’s and don'ts of sex?” Zoisite Ideale asked as he leaned back in his seat.

“ Would you prefer our dads to be the ones to teach it?” Hikari asked curiously, making everyone shudder.

That would not end well if their dads were the ones to teach it…

“ By the way,” Alistar began, quickly changing the subject. “ Where are the others? I thought they’d be joining us.”

“ Cyra is on a date with Dusk,” Leon explained. “ So I thought it would be best to give them some space.”

“ Heinry and Natalia are off playing in the fun houses,” Noureen said simply. “ But I’ll be meeting up with them later.”

“ Nymphie is off doing her own thing, and Mikhail is on a date with his princess.” Avalinia told him with a giggle.

“ My siblings are all kind of scattered around the place,” Dawn said with a laugh. “ Vivian was here earlier waiting for you, but I told her you’d see her after the ceremony so she went off on an adventure with Nora and Kito.”

“ Einar and Hana are with my parents, so we’ll probably see them later!” Hikari said with a bright smile.

Alistar nodded, and the conversation between the children continued to flow with various topics being discussed; including which squad they all thought would get the most stars.

“ It’s obviously going to be the Black Bulls!” Hikari said proudly, and Noureen scoffed.

“ Didn’t your squad just lose a handful of stars due to the destruction you caused near the Heart border?” Noureen pointed out as his eyes narrowed.

“ Hey we only lost two stars because of that,” She pointed out in irritation. “ And if you think your squad’s going to rank above ours you’re delusional!”

“ I think you’re the delusional one here!”

As Alistar watched the two go back and forth in amusement, he suddenly felt someone kick him under the table. He turned to see who it was and saw Leon giving him a serious look.

He leaned forward and Alistar did the same.

“ What’s up?”

“ Are you going to confess to Hikari tonight?” Leon asked quietly, and Alistar’s eyes widened.

What was with everyone wanting him to confess to Hikari tonight?!

“ Are you and my mother in cahoots or something?” Alistar asked quietly, his blue eyes narrowing.

Leon frowned.

“ What? No,” He said in confusion. “ Why would we be in cahoots?”

“ Because you’re both asking me if I plan on confessing to Hikari tonight, and it’s really suspicious!” He told him, and Leon hummed.

“ Well, tonight does seem like the perfect time to do it,” He said to Alistar as he hummed in thought. “ Your mother and I were probably just thinking the same thing.”

Alistar sighed and shook his head before taking a sip of his drink.

“ But you didn’t answer my question,” Leon pointed out quietly. “ Are you going to confess to her or not?”

Alistar hummed in thought as his blue eyes gazed down into his cup, staring at the swirling contents as he tried to decide what to do…

“ I don’t know,” He admitted softly. “ Maybe…we’ll see how tonight goes? If everything feels right, then I will, and if it doesn’t then…I’ll wait.”

Leon nodded slowly before he set his own cup down onto the table.

“ That sounds like a good plan, but I wouldn’t wait too long,” Leon said as he gave his friend a very serious look. “ You never know when someone will come by and try to snatch her up.”

Alistar smirked a bit.

“ What? Are you planning on trying to ask her out?” He joked, and Leon’s eyes widened and his eyebrows shot up in surprise.

“ Absolutely not. I already have someone,” He told Alistar, who chuckled in response. “ Besides, even if I didn’t have someone, I still wouldn’t be that big of a jerk.”

Alistar smiled, nodded, and raised his glass.

“ Well, if it helps, I wouldn’t do that to you either.” He told him, and Leon chuckled before smiling and clanking his glass against Alistar’s.

“ Noted.”

“ What’re you two talking about?!” Hikari suddenly asked as she leaned over towards them, the boys instantly dropped their glasses and turned to her.

“ Puns!” They shouted in surprise, making Hikari blink.

“ Huh?”

“ Hey Leon; What do you call an alligator in a vest?” Alistar asked, and Leon shrugged.

“ I don’t know, what?”

“ An investigator.”

Leon burst into laughter.

“ Hey Alistar; Why did the scarecrow get an award?” Leon asked, and Alistar shook his head.

“ Why?”

“ Because he was outstanding in his field.”

Alistar burst into laughter, and Leon followed suit.

The other children at the table groaned.

“ I shouldn’t have asked!” Hikari muttered as she rested her head against the table.

Leon and Alistar looked at each other as a sigh of relief escaped them. Who would have thought making puns would save their lives?

After the children talked for a little longer they all decided to split up and explore the Festival.

As usual Hikari and Alistar paired up together, and the two walked around and explored all the things the festival had to offer.

They played games, ate food, walked around, and chatted about all the things that had happened since they last saw each other. Everything was normal between them.

But in the back of Alistar’s mind he couldn’t stop thinking about what his mother and Leon said; they were right in saying he was running out of time to confess, and they were also right that she could meet someone new tonight and fall in love with them…

“ Come on!” Hikari’s excited voice suddenly pulled him out of his thoughts. His heart skipped a beat when she suddenly grabbed his hand and dragged him towards a tree with lanterns and papers hanging from it.

Alistar stared at the tree, was this new? He had never seen it here before…

“ It’s a wishing tree! Papa told me about it yesterday and I wanted to come check it out.” Hikari told him as she let go of his hand, making his heart sink a bit.

“ A wishing tree?” He asked in confusion. She nodded, walked over to where papers and quills were sitting and grabbed some before bringing it back to him.

“ Yeah! You write your wishes down on these pieces of paper, and then you hang them on the tree!” She explained as she handed it to him before writing her own wish down.

“ That’s it?”

“ That’s it!”

Alistar nodded slowly, and as he stared down at the piece of paper his mind began to race as he tried to think of what to wish for.

He glanced up at Hikari. A soft smile appeared on his face as he watched her brows furrow in concentration, her tongue sticking out just slightly as she wrote, and the satisfied smile that appeared on her face as she finished writing down her wish.

He looked back down at his paper, and began to write down his wish.

As he finished he followed her to the tree and hung his wish right beside her’s.

“ Aren’t we a little too old to be making wishes?” Alistar asked playfully, and Hikari pouted before giving him a slight glare.

“ You’re never too old to make wishes,” She told him. “ Uncle Asta said so.”

Alistar chuckled, and Hikari grinned.

The pair stood together quietly, their gazes on the large tree as it swayed slightly in the wind. But soon his gaze drifted over to Hikari.

As the warm light of the lanterns drifted over her features, as the wind slightly shifted her beautiful brown hair, he couldn’t help but wonder; is now the time? Should he confess now?

“ So, what did you wish for?” She suddenly asked as she turned towards him, her blue eyes shining brighter than the moon, and her smile more dazzling than the stars in the sky.

Yeah, now was the perfect time.

“ My wish…is to hold you close and never let you go…” He said softly, his face turning slightly red.

“ Huh?”

As she stared at him in surprise and confusion, Alistar could hear his heart drumming in his ears, and could feel it pounding against his chest while he waited for her answer.

But much to his surprise…she suddenly began to laugh.

“ That’s a good one! You scared me there for a second.” Hikari laughed as she slapped him repeatedly on the shoulder.

She…thought it was a joke?

As he opened his mouth to correct her she suddenly grabbed his hand again.

“ Y’know you shouldn’t make jokes like that though,” She told him mock-seriously. “ Otherwise your girlfriend might get the wrong idea!”

Alistar blinked at her as her words sunk in.

His…what?!

“ Hikari-!” He began, raising his hands and waving them quickly, he needed to clear up whatever…misunderstanding this was! But she cut him off.

“ Don’t worry I won’t say anything,” Hikari told him. “ What happens between bodyguards, stays between bodyguards.” She added before grabbing his hand again.

“ C’mon the ceremony’s about to start!”
