Dustin doesn't idolize El at all even if he loves her a lot, he treats her just like a dear friend that happens to have superpowers and uses them for good usually but he doesn't look at her like she's a superhero, he points out she has weaknesses for example during the season and that tells me it's clear in his mind that at the end of the day she's just a human like everybody else and I think a relationship between them would be good for her also because he doesn't feel inferior... they would be on the same plane as partners!!

Henderhop headcanons because we need more elxdustin content! I'm writing this at 2am lol

. El loves to learn and Dustin loves to teach

. Dustin is really good at explaining stuff and NEVER makes El feel dumb for not knowing/understanding something

. They are both autistic

. El copies a lot of Dustin's language and humour. Hopper isn't to found of his daughter saying "son of a bitch!" when anything goes slightly wrong

. Same goes for Dustin and his "bitchin'" t-shirts

. Dustin made El a ceribro2 so they could talk every night with crystal clear communication

neither they're both weird bug kids. they each have massive terrariums that dustin's mom loves and hopper hates. dustin gives el all of his old big books because he knows all of that stuff now and so a lot of her vocabulary is still simple but she describes EVERYTHING like it's a bug. she asks will what a president is and in the same breath tells him about dryocampa rubicunda (that was openly an our flag means death reference), her favorite moth and will is just absolutely dumbfounded.

dustin loves it. he's so sweet with her and when she is initially hesitant to meet his pet tarantula named dart two, but then for the rest of time every single moment she spends in dustin's house there is a spider the size of her knee on her back or her shoulder. it's a bit scary.

Dustin doesn’t realize his soulmate was this girl who they found in the forest, didn’t know this stranger whatsoever until after going through so much together and apart.

El didn’t know true love until Dustin. She really thought she loved Mike and she did, honest. But it was puppy love, a first love and her true one and only is Dustin.

They went from strangers to being each others whole world.
