The Death Toll of the Earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria may have reached 20,000 people, and that’s outside of all those who are injured and lost.
If you could donate PLEASE do!!!
Here’s a post full of charities you could donate to, but I’ll add my own trustworthy ones here:
Islamic Relief:  teams are on the ground right now providing emergency food assistance, shelter, medical supplies to hospitals and clinics, as well as blankets and tents for those made homeless by the quake in Turkey and Syria
Molham: The team at Molham are currently on the ground helping displaced families in Turkey and Syria who have been affected by the earthquake
The White Helmets: The team are on the ground in Northwest Syria searching for survivors and removing the dead from the rubble.
MSF: remaining in close contact with the local authorities in northwestern Syria and with the authorities in Turkey to extend their support where it’s needed. They’re providing essential life kits to displaced people in the region
please PLEASE reblog. Syria and Turkiye need our help!!!

PLEASE READ ALL!!
Hello first of all I hope everyone who is in Türkiye and Syria are doing well. Second of all o would like to inform you all about young royals cast posting t€rror fund in the name of helping Türkiye. I learned this a bit late and this happened like a week ago but all I want from you is to stop supporting young royals.
Recently in Türkiye and Syria a huge earthquake has taken place and yes I’m sorry I didn’t post any posts about it but I was very much aware and I also helped as much as I could. I felt horrible when I heard about many people that lost their lives and homes.
But let’s talk about the main of this post. The picture below is what young royals actor edvin ryding posted and for all of you this post supports kurd t€rror organisations such as pkk and all the money goes to them. And not just edvin rest of the cast (except omar rudberg) also posted the same t€rror Fund. And let me explain this matter a little more. these terror organisations want to divide Türkiye and Iran, they want to form a country called “kurdistan" which is a non existed country but is mentioned below, I was actually so confused when I first saw it cause there is no place such as k*rdistan. To add this it wasn’t edvins first time to mention it, he did it before and apparently deleted it later because of people reacting towards it but this time he didn’t deleted his story and many Turkish fans of him are heartbroken by this situation. I support them all fully and they have every right to be mad towards young royals cast. Honestly I was extremely disappointed when I heard this and than I searched it up a bit, director of young royals aka rodja sekersöz is also apparently a kurd that is a t€rrorist (not directly but supports them) so money that is made by goes to weapons that are for pkk (and other t€rror organizations) i know it some of you really like the show but I am asking is it worth it? kurd t€rror organizations are one of the biggest problems in Türkiye currently and I’m asking you all please report these accounts (such as the one below on edvin’s story) and cancel the cast for this. Also stop watching yr as well, there is many shows similar to it. Recently I read red, white and royal blue for example it is a good one to start (it’s a book btw) one person can not do a lot but together all of us we can make a change ❤️

I don’t know who will see this but as a country we need your help. As you know two major earthquakes hit Turkey. Many houses were destroyed which unfortunately brought so many people with them. The death count is rising every second, bad news won’t stop coming. So please even the smallest help will be appreciated.
The founder is @haluklevent and @ahbap on twitter, you can also check out his account for further info and the current state of things. Volunteers are trying to bring aid with your donations to the disaster zone. It’ll be snowing in 6 of the worst hit cities tonight, where more than 4 million people lives. Please consider donating if you can, keep in mind that 1 US dollar currently equals 18 Turkish liras, and 1 Euro equals 20 Turkish liras. Even a small donation may buy an extra tent.
you can make a donations from abroad using this swift code called “ISBKTRIS”

Listen Batman, especially in the comics, is frequently depicted as an abusive A-hole, but he doesn’t need to be. Comics inherently belong to the fandom, as they rely on fans building a story with these characters and being introduced into cannon. We’ve seen a slight shift in the narrative with the likes of Wayne Family Adventures, and personally I think this is a good start. Make heroes who are actually heroic, stop turning them into abusers.

Are you ok ? , How are you and your family in Morocco? I hope you are well.
thank you for asking dear❤️ welll the experience was traumatizing cause i nearly died not even knowing it was an earthquake but thank god i was saved last minute but what really affected me was seeing how we mean nothing to the people in charge of the country. Children died and of they're still alive they're orphans now. A small village turned into a graveyard since the habitants are all dead, not even one survived! A mother lost her 4 children and her husband. All we can do is thank allah and go back to his way cause this experience really shows how tiny and fragile we are and how our life is short. once again thank you for asking dear

Quake
Part 2
Warnings: earthquake, head injury, blood
The ground beneath Whumpee’s feet began to quake. “Take cover!” They shouted to Caretaker and they shoved Caretaker towards a table. Caretaker’s hand was tight around their wrist as the room around them groaned, the wood splintering in places.
“Whumpee! Look out!” Caretaker shouted, but their words were drowned out over the roar of the shaking earth and crumbling building.
Earthquakes weren’t common here. Whumpee tried to remember what you were supposed to do in the event of an earthquake. Take shelter? Hide in a doorway? Go outside? Their thoughts were cut off as something hit their temple hard.
Pain exploded in their head. They could feel the blood rolling down their cheek. They stumbled forward towards Caretaker, their vision blurred and unclear.
“Oh no, Whumpee!” Caretaker’s words were muffled.
Whumpee’s nose was filled with dust. Their head hurt. And the ground was still shaking. They couldn’t move fast enough as more things fell around them. Caretaker pulled Whumpee’s hand hard and Whumpee fell to their knees. The world spun around them and they weren’t too convinced it was because they hit their head.
“Don’t,” Whumpee whispered, but they couldn’t get the words out around their nausea.
Caretaker pulled Whumpee beneath a table with them. Ducking their body over Whumpee’s head. “It’ll be over soon,” Caretaker murmured. “We’ll get you help for your head.”
Whumpee closed their eyes and nodded. Even that small movement had their head in so much pain they could barely breathe. They blinked open their eyes for a moment, but their vision was still blurry, Caretaker’s face still unclear.
“Don’t go to sleep, Whumpee,” Caretaker said tapping Whumpee’s cheek gently.
Whumpee wasn’t aware they had started to lose consciousness. “Awake,” they whispered back.
“Keep your eyes open,” Caretaker said more urgently as the ground stopped shaking beneath them. “Keep them open for me, Whumpee.”
Whumpee blinked. And blinked. But it became harder and harder to keep their eyes open. They’d just keep them closed for a moment. Try and clear the blurriness. They sighed as they closed their eyes once more, despite Caretaker’s pleas to stay awake and not sleep. Whumpee hurt too much to care.

The area effected by earthquake in Turkey spanning 10 cities and caused massive destruction in most of them is almost equal to countries like Portugal, Hungary, Iceland and Serbia. Putting into perspective the destruction disaster has caused.

Febuwhump- Alt prompt 9: natural disasters
Ok this one isn’t too bad because I do not have the confidence to write about a serious disaster (especially after what happened in Turkey) so this is mostly based after an experience I had in 2020, which was not at all serious (I live in a state where natural disasters aren’t really a thing). So warning about an earthquake, again it’s nothing serious but just in case
Unsteady Surface
The sky was a world that the first chosen hero was accustomed to. He was used to the threat of falling towards the clouds, he was used to the tornadoes that would throw people off their loftwings, and he was used to the floating islands, which seemed mysterious to his new friends, but normal to him. He remembers when he first landed on the surface it was almost surreal to him. It was basically a big floating island except it wasn’t floating and it was covering the entire world. Everywhere he went there was land. Nice solid land that if he were to fall off a cliff, he would just land on more land. As a kid, he always had an irrational fear of the islands in Skyloft falling out of nowhere, and though he grew out of it, it still made him pretty nervous. Especially when the goddess statue fell back down to the surface near the sealed temple. The surface however felt more safe and sturdy to him. There was no risk of the world suddenly plunging to another world below, there was no risk of things suddenly tipping over, it was solid compared to the sky.
However Sky experienced something one day that made him realize that he still didn’t know anything about the surface.
He was sitting on a log conversing with Twilight and Windy when it happened. Sky was trying to get rocks out of his shoes while Twi was drinking his water. Windy was pretty animated and was constantly jumping up and down from the log, shaking it a little. Sky chuckled at his enthusiasm while Twi scolded him for making him spill his water. They got into a heated argument while Sky decided to enjoy the breeze. It was a beautiful day, much prettier than all the other days.
Sky suddenly felt the log shaking aggressively and he looked over at the two, wondering why this was getting Windy all worked up. But haunting confusion replaced his annoyance when he saw Windy off of the log and Twi looking just as confused as he was. Sky looked around and noticed that the whole world around him was shaking. The trees were swaying back and forth as if something from below was trying to claw its way out, the leaves were shaking violently and flying off the branches, and dirt was shaking off of the ground, clouding his vision. Sky jumped off the log to see what was going on but fell over, and he felt Twi wrapping his arms around him. He tried to get up but the world was too shaky for him to even stand.
“Stay away from the trees!” He barely heard Windy yell over the disrupted earth. Sky just stayed on the ground, gripping the dirt as it shook him around, but as soon as it started, the shaking stopped.
Sky’s heart was beating a thousand miles per minute, and he noticed that he was breathing rather quickly. He coughed from inhaling dirt and blinked some aggravated tears away. He looked around him and noticed the trees were still once again, and the ground was no longer moving. He tried to get up again but found his legs were still shaking.
“Are you ok?” He heard Twi ask, and Sky nodded. He looked over at Windy who was moving towards them, looking rather serious.
“What was that?” Sky asked, his voice just as shaky as his legs, “is there a monster nearby?”
“No, I think that was an earthquake,” Windy answered, offering his hand to help them up.
“Sweet Ordona,” Twi muttered underneath his breath, “is that what they’re like?”
“That’s one of the more mild ones. They can be much worse.”
Sky swallowed, and his throat felt awfully dry. That was mild? The solid ground beneath him felt like it was going to collapse at any moment!
“Sky, are you ok?”
Sky looked at Twi who was rubbing his back gently. He let out a nervous laugh. “Y-yeah I’m fine… The surface just isn’t as sturdy as I thought it was.”
Twi gave him a small smile and the three of them huddled together in the middle of the path.
“It’s ok Sky, that wasn’t a serious one, I don’t think it even did any damage,” Windy sat down on his other side and gave him a smile. “It’s over now.”
“Don’t they last longer than that?” Twi asked Windy.
“What?” Sky couldn’t imagine the whole world shaking like that for longer than what they experienced. That must be terrifying.
“Yeah, the more serious ones usually last longer, that’s when tree branches start breaking off,” Windy gestured to the trees that they were keeping their distance away from, a serious look on his face. Sky remembered him yelling at the two to stay away from the trees.
“The longer ones are uh… not an experience I’d wish upon anyone,” Windy fidgeted with his hands. “Now c’mon, let’s go see if the others are alright.”
Sky nodded and Twi helped him up. They started walking, a little more quietly now, and Sky gasped when he felt shaking again.
“It’s ok, it’s just aftershock,” Windy reassured him, though he didn’t look that comforted. “We should still stay away from the trees though.”
“How do earthquakes even happen?”
“I uh… I don’t know? I’m sure Four knows.”
“Is it a natural thing?”
“Yep. No monsters or evil forces involved from what I understand.”
Sky frowned. Did every element have a sense of danger to it? He’s experienced tornadoes several times that they’re more of a nuisance to him, but the earth shaking was new. He’s never felt the ground shake like that, except when the goddess statue fell to the surface, but that wasn’t natural like this one. What did water do? What about fire? Was there some fire tornado that would happen? He gave a face of discomfort and Twi rubbed his shoulder.
“I’m ok, really,” Sky smiled at him, “I just, never experienced anything like that before. It’s… bizarre.”
“Yeah, you start to feel vulnerable to nature when you realize how deadly it can be,” Windy said in a very unhelpful way. “Wait till you hear about hurricanes! Or tsunamis! Those sure are awful! Hope we don’t experience one of those near the beach!”
Twi gave Windy a dirty look which got him to stop talking. Sky just chuckled.
“Sorry Sky,” Windy apologized, “but don’t worry about it. We were in an open space so nothing could’ve fallen on us.”
“What about the others?”
“Well, like I said, it wasn’t a serious earthquake, so there’s a good chance that they’re just shaken up, nothing more.”
Sky nodded and managed a smile. He was grateful that it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been, but the way Windy acted about earthquakes made him nervous. If there was one here, is it possible for there to be another one? A bigger one? He sighed and was grateful that the others at least knew what was going on, because Sky realized that he had yet to uncover the mysteries of the surface.

Earthquakes serve as turning points in Turkish history, a shattering of silence in mere seconds. In 1999, an earthquake struck near Istanbul, my hometown. More than 17,000 people were killed and many more injured. I had always known that earthquakes were something to be wary of, that they are expected in a country that sits on the Anatolian Plate bordering two major fault lines. But I had never lived through a quake before, or seen its aftermath. For weeks people slept outdoors—in parks, on the waterfront, in streets and stadiums—unable to go back to homes that had been destroyed, or afraid to return to homes still standing.
That disaster and the slow rescue operations that followed brought the AKP, or the Justice and Development Party, to power. It promised modern, transparent governance, and has led our country ever since. And yet it went on to waste decades protecting its own rule, luxuriating in its own ideological priorities, and failing to prepare for this catastrophe.
On Monday, two major earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria, leaving more than 11,000 people dead, four times that number injured, and many still missing. The World Health Organization has said that the death toll could rise to more than 20,000. In Turkey, close to 6,000 residential and commercial buildings collapsed.
The first earthquake, at magnitude 7.8, hit the city of Gaziantep, bordering Syria, soon after 4 a.m. as people slept. Approximately half a million refugees from the Syrian war are living there, refugees who must once again feel a horrific sense of displacement. Nine hours later, a 7.5-magnitude quake hit Kahramanmaraş province, about 60 miles to the north. Several Turkish cities were severely rocked. Aftershocks were felt in Greece, Cyprus, and Lebanon; they are still being felt.
About 380,000 people have taken refuge in hotels, dormitories, community centers, and other facilities. The pain is not over. Many people are still trapped under the rubble, and others are working to rescue them, in the freezing cold—the rain and snow alternating. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared a three-month state of emergency in the provinces hit hardest by the catastrophe, and declared seven days of national mourning. Because in Turkey, that’s what we do: Today we mourn, and tomorrow we forget, until the next tragedy.
But the Turkish people have questions: Where did the billions of dollars they paid in “earthquake taxes” since the 1999 catastrophe go? Why were the construction codes aimed at making structures more quake-resistant not followed? Why, despite experts’ warnings and politicians’ promises, was more not done to prevent all this death?
