Eddie: There’s a lot to say about Y/N.
Karen: We all met Y/N around the time we started our first tour. She was just starting out as an actress.
Warren: Y/N? Y/N was great, man! When she wasn’t on set she would join us at the studio. I tried teaching her drums once.
Eddie: She was…the best person I’ve ever known.
Y/N L/N stepped through the threshold of the house she knew and loved so much. Everyone was expecting her so she dumped her bag near the bottom of the stairs and walked through the house. It was eerily silent. Typically she heard shouting and arguing or the sound of instruments.
“Hello? Guys?” Y/N called throughout the house.
Y/N turned a corner and was surprised with the sound of yelling and streamers being thrown in her face.
“Oh my god!” She exclaimed.
Eddie, Karen, Warren and Graham stood there with smiles on their faces. Y/N smiled at them and raced over to hug them. Warren pulled her into a hug first and held onto her tight, next was Graham, who’s hug was short and sweet before he took his place next to Karen. Next was Karen.
“I can’t believe you left me alone with these boys!” Karen spoke and she hugged Y/N.
“Next time come with me, escape the testosterone for a bit.” Y/N joked with her.
The final person to give her a hug was Eddie. He stepped up to her and gave her a tight hug. His arms  wrapped around her waist as he lifted her up from her feet and spun her around.
“Eddie! Put me down!” Y/N exclaimed as she gripped onto him.
Eddie smiled and placed her back down on her feet. Y/N smiled at Eddie and he slowly released her and stepped back.
“How have all of you been? It’s been months.” Y/N questioned.
Warren steps closer to her and slings his arm over her shoulder leading her through the house, “You’re the one who’s just home back from a big movie set, tell us about it.”
“It was great! It was a lot more tiring than I thought it would be though.” Y/N responded.
“Just think about it, Y/N L/N, Oscar winning actress!” Warren said as they sat on the couch.
“That’s a goal for later in life.” Y/N laughed.
Eddie sat down next to her and Y/N unconsciously leant into him.
“But if you do go to the Oscars, I’ll be your plus one right?” Warren questioned, taking a sip from his drink.
“Hey, why do you get to be her plus one? I’m the one who invites her to all the rehearsals.” Karen cut in.
“She met me first!” Graham exclaimed.
As the three began arguing, Y/N sat back and watched, an amused smile gracing her face. Eddie looked down at her.
“You’d bring me, right?” He asked, bending down to whisper the question into her ear.
“No doubt about that.” Y/N resplied, turning to face Eddie.
Eddie smiled and reached to take a sip of his drink while the three continued to argue.
Eddie: That same year I was at the Oscars watching Y/N make her speech for best supporting actress. I was so proud of her.
Warren: I still can’t believe Y/N didn’t take me.
Eddie: It wasn’t long after Y/N won an Oscar before we were on tour. I asked her to come with us. Having Y/N around always made me feel better. But she was going to work on another film.
“Call me when you get the chance. I want to hear all about the excruciating bus journey.” Y/N says as she hugs Karen.
Y/N hugs the rest of the band members one by one until she gets to Eddie. She reaches up and locks her arms around his neck, giving him a tight hug. Eddie reciprocated the hug and held her tightly.
“I’ll miss you.” Y/N mumbles into his shoulder.
“I’ll miss you too.”
“You’ll be fucking amazing.” Y/N says and she pulls away.
With one last wave at the band, Y/N steps over to allow Camila to say goodbye to everyone. Camila bids goodbye to everyone, however once she gets to Eddie she simply gives him a smile before walking over to Y/N. Y/N furrows her eyebrows for a moment, thinking the interaction was strange but the thought quickly leaves her mind as the buses pull away.
Eddie: She could almost always tell what I was feeling. That’s why she surprised us on the tour I think.
When Y/N walked through the doors to the party, all eyes turned to look at her, including the eyes of the people she had come to surprise.
“Y/N?” Warren exclaimed and rushed forward to greet her, “What are you doing here?”
“I have a few days where I’m not wanted on set so I’ve come to surprise everyone.” Y/N shouted over the music.
“This is a great surprise!” Karen said while passing Y/N a drink which she accepted gratefully.
Y/N slumped down on the couch and fell into conversation with her friends. Despite having close friends outside of this group, she never felt at ease as she did when she was surrounded by them. Falling into conversation was easy and didn’t ever stop until the early hours of the morning.
Y/N hadn’t even finished her drink before another one was thrust in her hand. She quickly finished off her first drink before starting on her new one.
“Where’s Eddie?” Y/N questioned upon noticing that she hadn’t seen him yet.
“Not sure,” Warren replied, “He wandered off a while ago.”
Y/N looked around the party, “I’m going to look for him.”
Y/N got up and looked around the room in search of Eddie. Many people dragged her into conversation as she looked around and she had to find the most polite excuse to end the conversation before she got sucked into it.
Looking around the room once more, she found Camila quickly walking away from the balcony doors.
“Hey Camila!” Y/N says, weaving her way through people, “Have you seen Eddie anywhere?”
“Um,” Camila says, looking around, never making eye contact with Y/N, “No, I haven’t, sorry Y/N.”
Y/N eyes her suspiciously before nodding, “Okay, if you find him, let him know I was looking for him alright?”
Camila smiled at her, “Will do. See you later Y/N.”
Y/N smiled at Camila before the woman left her. Y/N’s eyes drifted up to the balcony doors which were firmly closed. Before she even knew it, Y/N’s feet were taking her over to them. Y/N pulled the doors open and stepped out onto the balcony and into the cool night air.
“Y/N?”
Y/N looked to the source of the voice and smiled at the sight of the person she had been looking for.
“Eddie.” Y/N says, flinging her arms around him, careful not to spill her drink.
“What are you doing here?” Eddie asked.
“I have a few days off from shooting so I came to surprise everyone.” Y/N responded, pulling away from the hug to take a swig from her drink, “I was sitting with everyone before I realised you weren’t there so I came looking for you and- are you okay?”
Y/N cut herself off to ask Eddie that question. His smile didn’t quite reach his eyes and he looked like he was trying his best to hold back tears.
“I’m fine.” Eddie lies.
Y/N’s eyes softened, she reached up to Eddie’s face and wiped away the single tear that slipped down his cheek, “Eddie, I’ve known you for years, I can tell when you lie to me.”
“It’s nothing,” Eddie says, “At least it is now.”
Y/N placed her drink down on the floor before she wrapped Eddie in a hug, “Does this have anything to do with Camila?”
Eddie didn’t answer but that was enough of an answer or Y/N.
Y/N pulled away slightly, placing her hands on either side of Eddie’s face, “You don’t have to tell me anything Eddie, but if you ever want to talk about it, I’m just a phone call away.”
“That’s the problem,” Eddie says, “You’re a phone call away but I wish you were just here with me or I was with you.”
Y/N leaned forward, resting her forehead against Eddie’s, “Eddie, I wish that were possible but you and I both know it isn’t.”
“I know, but I miss you.” Eddie says, closing his eyes.
“I miss you too,” Y/N says, her voice barely above a whisper, “So much.”
Eddie gave a tight lipped smile before pulling Y/N closer, he buried his head into her neck and the two stood like that for a while.
Eddie: I think that was the night that put everything into perspective for me.
Karen: Everyone could see that something was happening between Y/N and Eddie. Graham and I were taking bets on it.
Warren: Honestly I thought they were screwing long before the tour.
Eddie: I realised that day that night that Y/N was the one I wanted to be with. That feeling I would get when I was with Y/N was love. I was in love with Y/N and I hadn’t realised it. There was a point where we didn’t have shows for a couple days so I went to see Y/N. Billy wasn’t happy but I didn’t care, the only thing I cared about was her.
Y/N lay in her garden, enjoying her final day off before she finished shooting her movie. She flipped the page of her book while taking a sip from her drink.
“Y/N?” A voice broke the peaceful silence.
Y/N turned and came face to face with Eddie. Her eyebrows pulled together confused.
“What are you doing here? You should be on the other side of the country.” Y/N says, getting up from her chair.
“I needed to see you.” Eddie says.
“Are you okay?” Y/N asked concerned.
Eddie nodded, “I just need to tell you something.”
“You do know that phones exist right?” Y/N joked but once she realised that Eddie was serious she stepped closer to him, resting her hands on his upper arms gently.
“Are you sure that you’re okay?” Y/N questioned.
Eddie: As soon as she asked me that the second time, I couldn’t stop myself. I kissed her.
Y/N let out a sound of surprise as Eddie’s lips connected with hers. His hands held onto her waist, pulling her closer. Y/N didn’t do anything, she was shocked.
Eddie pulled away and looked at Y/N, her face remained expressionless. He was afraid he had just messed up another friendship.
“Y/N…” Eddie mumbled, “Please say something.”
Y/N didn’t, her thoughts were running at a million miles an hour. Y/N slowly reached up and rested her hands on either side of Eddie’s face.
“Y/N, please.” Eddie said, barely audible.
Y/N leaned forward and connected their lips once again, her fingers ran through his hair. Eddie gripped onto her waist tightly and pulled her close until there wasn’t a single gap between them.
Eddie: (laughs) I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
Eddie tapped Y/N’s thigh and she jumped up wrapping her legs around him. Eddie carried her into the house and set her down on the kitchen countertop. Eddie pulled his lips away from Y/N briefly.
“Y/N, I love you.” Eddie says, his thumbs brushing across her thighs.
Y/N smiled, “You want to know something, Eddie? I had no clue I felt this way about you until you kissed me. It just feels right, like we should have been doing it all along.”
Eddie smiles and Y/N swears it is the most beautiful smile she had ever seen.
“Well then, let’s make up for lost time.” Eddie says and connects their lips once again.
Eddie: I proposed to Y/N six months later.
Y/N L/N: Over twenty years later I still feel like the young woman I was when we shared our first kiss and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

well, my boyfriend's in a band. -> e.roundtree
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: maybe some profanities
SYNOPSIS: Nobody thinks the thing between you and Eddie can be as pure and real as you say it is. word count: 1,323
NOTES: written for this request!
A lot of people talked about you and Eddie, now that you were publicly together, but none of them knew what they were saying. They spun the story like it was as old as time, unchangeable, inevitable, as sure a disaster as whatever or whoever they were comparing you to in the moment. Him, a rockstar, high on the enormous tide of fame and cocaine, a man who could have anything in the world at the snap of his fingers. You, a couple of years younger, elusive writer from the Los Angeles scene, enigmatic partier– naïve, obviously getting taken for a ride.
It never occurred to any of them that a man like Eddie Roundtree could be truly, inescapably gone for you. Why devote yourself to one girl when you could have as many as you wanted at any time? People had been asking that question about Billy Dunne for the Six’s entire career, and they couldn’t believe another band member was making the same ‘mistake’. Fame should mean freedom. As if getting to give your all to someone and receive their all in return wasn’t a kind of freedom in of itself.
Let them talk. What difference did it make to you?
When you stepped onto the tour bus, the afterparty was already in full swing. You hadn’t been able to catch the show because your flight had gotten in too late, but it didn’t matter; you’d be joining Eddie on tour for the next few months, so you had plenty of shows in your future. All you cared about was getting to your man. You located him sitting on the far corner of the couch, squished in with Graham and Warren and Warren’s girl of the night. You had spotted him before he spotted you, and you took a moment to take in the face you hadn’t been able to see since the tour started. His warm brown eyes crinkled in laughter, the sweep of his burnt sugar hair over his forehead. He was so beautiful it made your breath catch every time you allowed yourself to drink him in like that.
“(y/n)!” Warren shouted, being the one to notice you first in the fray of the party, pointing to you with one long finger as if the shout wasn’t enough. Eddie’s head whipped around, and his mouth stretched into the widest grin at the sight of you. You returned the smile with your own, squeezing through the small, packed crowd until you landed right in his lap.
Eddie’s arms instantly went around your waist, hands settling warm and solid on your lower back. Yours went loosely around his shoulders, your head dipping down to a well-received kiss. His eyes were bloodshot and he was half gone to whatever booze and drugs he’d done already, but even through the haze of inebriation they were settled on you.
“You’re here, I can breathe again,” he said, voice lazy. He was leaned all the way back, head resting on the window behind him, like it was the first time his body had been able to relax in weeks. You lifted your palm to his cheek, rubbing your thumb gently along his lower lip, curved up in that little smirk of his.
You bent your face close to him so that only he could hear you. “Missed you, too, baby boy.”
Eddie leaned over the side of the couch, and when he came back up he was holding his lighter– red, engraved with his name in gold, a gift from you shortly after you had started dating– and a joint. He lifted the joint and you took it in your lips, he grabbed your chin and held your face gently with his guitar-calloused fingers as he lit it for you. You took a long drag, exhaling only after the joint was between Eddie’s lips.
Eddie’s hands went back to your waist, skimming up beneath your shirt and skating across your spine. The whole time he’d been away and you’d been stuck in Los Angeles without him, you’d felt unmoored, but you hadn’t realized the extent of it until you were finally back in his arms, back with your anchor. This was where you were meant to be, and Eddie felt that just as much as you did.
The next night, you stood in the wings with Rod watching the band play. They were all mesmerizing in their own ways, especially, of course, Daisy and Billy singing together, but your eyes never left Eddie. He always exuded confidence, but never more so than when he was onstage, and it was intoxicating to see. He wore that cocky smirk on his face, the one that either made you want to smack him or kiss him and nothing in between, his body moving as one with the bass. He’d never wanted to play the instrument, you knew, but god did he play it like it had been made specifically for him.
Any chance he got, his eyes were on you, even onstage, even in the middle of a song. As the song came to an end, he caught your eye for the hundredth time that night, bringing his hand to his mouth and blowing a kiss into the wings for you. You laughed, pretending to catch it and press it to your heart, making him grin before he had to turn away and start playing the next song.
“That guy’s got it fuckin’ bad for you, huh,” Rod observed, and you snorted.
“Mm, he better,” you nodded.
Eddie made a beeline for you as soon as the show was over, shedding his bass on the way and scooping you up in his arms. You squeezed him tightly, laughing as he picked you up off the floor and spun you around. When he set you back down on the ground, you grabbed his face and kissed him, skin warm from the lights and exertion everywhere you touched, hair sweaty where your fingers tangled with it at the nape of his neck.
“You were enthralling,” you told him once you had pulled away.
“That was my best show so far,” he said, “Had to pull out all the stops because I knew my girl was watching.”
“Well, you really blew me away,” you laughed. “But you blow me away every time, you always will.”
You two skipped the afterparty that night, instead heading straight to Eddie’s hotel room. You needed just each other, alone, away from the hecticness of tour. You wanted Eddie all to yourself, you always did, and Eddie would give you as much of himself as he could at every chance, just as you did for him. That’s why you found him so easy to love; he knew what you needed from him, and was nearly tripping over himself to give it to you.
The next morning, you were in a diner with Eddie catching a quick breakfast before the buses had to leave. Your eyes scanned the newspaper rack in boredom as you waited for your food, and your mouth drew up into a smirk as you spotted something familiar.
You grabbed the tabloid and turned, showing it to Eddie. On the front was a photo of him on stage from the night before, eyes turned towards the wings, hand extended mid-gesture as he blew you a kiss. A smaller photo was superimposed in the corner, catching the two of you walking out of the venue later that night, your arm looped through the crook of his elbow as you walked back to the hotel. The headline was something invasive and completely false about your relationship, but you ignored it.
“They love to talk about us,” you said, rolling your eyes.
“These pictures are pretty good, actually,” Eddie said, grabbing the tabloid to get a better look. “I should get in touch with them and ask if I can have some copies of ‘em.”

Dream A Little Dream Of Me
Eddie Roundtree x Reader
Summary: Stress is starting to interfere with your sleep schedule. But a late-night encounter with a fellow member of The Six might just help you out.
A/N: It really bothers me that the show changed his last name, but I love this man so here you go
Word Count: 1k
Tumblr media
The one thing you really couldn’t find yourself getting used to in LA was the heat. Dry, stifling, and never-ending, it made you miserable. After spending nearly your whole life in cold, dreary Pittsburgh, you were more than struggling to make the adjustment.
The cheap ass house Billy had rented didn’t help things, either. Among its flaws, the lack of air conditioning is at the top of your list. And it’s why you can’t seem to stop tossing and turning. No matter which limbs you stick out from under your blankets, it’s not enough to cool you down. The windows you opened two hours ago aren’t helping either. Growing tired of trying to sleep, you throw the covers off of yourself and sit up.
At the very least, some water should be able to help.
You huff and make your way downstairs, paying no mind to the time. Grabbing a glass from the kitchen cabinet, you let the door swing shut. Once you’ve sipped on your tap water for a bit, you decide a snack might help too.
Still holding your cup in one hand, you start rummaging through the fridge with the other.
Leftovers were clearly out. As delicious as Camila’s lasagna was two nights ago, you didn’t want to bother heating anything up. Not to mention that Warren would probably want it for breakfast. Billy specifically said that the apples he bought were off-limits, but you aren’t necessarily opposed to pissing him off. You are, however, concerned about his taste. He probably got red delicious or Jonathan or something equally as gross, so you can't have that. Finally, you strike gold. The deli drawer. At least one Dunne brother has your back. Graham made a B-line for the deli counter on your grocery trip the other day.
You snag two slices of cheese out of the packet and start eating them while looking to see if the fridge has anything else to offer.
"Are you eating deli meat straight from the fridge at 2 AM?"
You whip around to find Eddie staring at you expectantly. For a second, you're like a deer in headlights. Caught red-handed, standing by the evidence. You swallow the final bite of cheese you were working on.
"No."
He makes a face that tells you he is not at all buying it.
"It was cheese," you mumble. Quietly, you continue, "why are you in here anyway, Edward?"
"Oh, I don't know, maybe to see who was making all that noise?" He shrugs angrily. For the first time, you take note of his pajamas. The blue and green plaid really compliments the white Rolling Stones shirt he's got on. His hair's all tussled, probably because he was just sleeping.
"Shit, I woke you up, didn't I?" You whisper, internally kicking yourself. The fridge closes behind you as you take a seat at the kitchen table. You rest your head in your hands. "I'm really sorry, Eddie."
The sincerity in your voice takes him off guard. Typically your relationship is characterized by bickering and teasing and sticking your tongues out at each other like when you were little. This is a rare moment of vulnerability for you.
Eddie takes the seat across from you at the table. "What are you doing up in the first place?" He asks gently.
"I'm too hot," you complain.
"Sure are," he nods, and you kick him. "OW! Jesus, I was joking."
You sigh again, guiltily, "sorry."
"Cranky much," he rubs at his knee, "did you get any sleep at all?"
"No," you say miserably.
"Wait, are you serious?" Eddie asks, and you nod. "We were in the studio all day, and you stayed late to record the extra trombone part. Aren't you exhausted?" You nod once again. He lets out a sigh, "what's keeping you up then?"
"I already told you, Billy needs to fix the damn air conditioning," you grumble.
"And that's all?" Eddie sounds skeptical.
You sigh, "I don't know. It's just- a lot." He gives an encouraging nod, and you continue, "we're not in Pittsburgh anymore, and everything's new and different, and this is our shot, and if I blow it-"
"Woah there," Eddie stops you. "First of all, if anyone blows it, it'll be Graham for spilling something on someone important." That pulls a laugh out of you, and he smiles. "And I know things are different, but it's exciting too. If you ever feel homesick, though, we'll just drive around until we find someplace that reminds us of Eat'n Park. Okay?"
You nod softly at his words, and he stands up. You send him a questioning look.
"Come on," he says, "you've gotta get some sleep."
"Eddie, I've tried," you insist. He rolls his eyes at you.
"Then at least come sit on the couch," he pleads. You reluctantly follow him into the living room and plop yourself down on the sofa. "Close your eyes too. If they get any more bloodshot, people will think we're high all the time."
"Aren't we?" You ask, throwing your arm over your face. You don't see him shake his head at you while he grabs his guitar.
"Since you woke me up, you get to hear what I've been working on," Eddie says. He pushes your legs over so that he has room to sit.
"Lucky me," your voice drips with sarcasm. Eddie flicks your leg, and you flinch away. "Hey!"
"Watch it, sleeping beauty," he says.
"Or what?" You taunt.
"I'll tell Billy you broke the garbage disposal," he smirks. You bolt upright at his words.
"You wouldn't!"
"Wouldn't I?"
"How was I supposed to know I had to turn the water to use it?!"
Eddie stares at you, unimpressed.
"Never mind, Mozart, play on," you nod at him. Eddie starts strumming the guitar, and you sigh, laying back down.
The melody is slow and sweet, mesmerizing too. Your intentions of listening closely to offer feedback quickly slip out the window. Especially when he starts humming along. You don't even feel yourself starting to drift off. Your acute awareness of the temperature in the house, your dry mouth, or any residual hunger that haunted you earlier slips away.
Eddie goes on playing for a bit before he looks to you for your thoughts on it. When he finds you fast asleep, he sighs, "that good, huh?" He shakes his head with a smile on his face. Eddie stands and hangs the guitar back on the wall, retiring to his own room. He'll make you listen to it again in the morning.

“morning after”
eddie roundtree x fem!reader
part 2 to “driving me crazy”
little drabble but still fun
request by: @beckinator7
Tumblr media
When you entered the kitchen that morning, Karen was already having breakfast at the table. You opened the fridge and ran a tired hand over your face while deciding what to eat.
She eyed your attire suspiciously. Boxers and a large t-shirt. “Sleep well?” she asked.
“Oh, yeah,” you said, taking a loaf of bread from the fridge and sticking two slices in the toaster.
Of course, Karen knew what happened the night before, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t have a little fun with it. “So, whose clothes are those?”
“Mine,” you lied, keeping your back faced to her so she couldn’t see your face.
“You like Bay City Rollers and wearing men’s boxers?”
The toast popped out and you grabbed it hastily. “Jeez, that’s hot,” you said, purposely ignoring the question.
“You know, I have a distinct memory of you saying you hate Bay City Rollers. Funny thing about that, I also remember Eddie wearing that shirt while you yelled at him about it.”
“Well, maybe his laundry got mixed with mine in the wash.” You didn’t look at her, focused on buttering your toast.
She took a bite of her muffin. “Either that or you’re screwing him.”
You set the knife down and stared at her. “Jesus, Karen. We are at the breakfast table.”
She shrugged. “I think it’s important for us women to be open and comfortable with our sexualities.”
“I’m. . .comfortable. In other settings.” You took a nervous bite of toast.
“I also think it’s important to acknowledge that you didn’t deny that you’re screwing him.” She hid her laugh behind her coffee mug as you grimaced.
Eddie walked in just in time and stood behind Karen’s chair. “You’re screwing someone and I didn’t know?” His mouth curved into a teasing cheshire grin that only you could see.
He circled the table and brushed your shoulders with his hands as he slid behind your chair. An awkward silence overtook the room. Karen pressed her hand to her mouth to stop herself from laughing. You gestured for her to cut it out, but her body continued to shake with silent laughter.
Eddie looked over his shoulder from the pantry with one eyebrow raised. “You girls don’t have to stop talking now that I’m here.”
That was the breaking point. Karen bursted out in a hysterical fit of laughter while you covered your face with your hands, shaking your head in embarrassment.
Eddie stifled his laugh while pouring himself a bowl of cereal. He sat in the chair next to you. You peeked through your fingers and caught the proud look on his face. He thought this was so funny.
“Good morning, ladies,” Warren said cheerily as he strode into the room, Graham following close behind.
Graham nudged Eddie as he walked past him. “Fun night?” He smirked at him while pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“Yeah, actually,” he replied, glancing at you with a sly smile.
Your face was feeling wildly hot with more people in the room commenting on your sex life. If there’s one thing you learned from this, it was to be quiet next time, or never do it in this house.
It didn’t help that Eddie wasn’t the slightest bit embarrassed about this. He was cocky, really. When he looked at you, his smile suggested that you were doing something secret when, in reality, everyone was aware.
“Woah, Y/n. What’s that big ugly thing on your neck?” Warren said, sitting on your other side.
Your head jerked up in alarm. “What?”
Graham craned his neck to get a better look. “Actually, it looks like there’s more than one.” He snickered. Karen snorted and covered her mouth immediately.
“That’s real interesting, Y/n,” Warren said, feigning innocence. “Maybe you should get that checked out.” His laugh broke out mid sentence and caused a chain reaction of laughter from Graham and Karen.
Your face was hot to the touch. Eddie was laughing under his breath. “Would you stop? I’m gonna kill all of you.”
“Pretty sure you’ve said that to me before.” Eddie attempted to suppress his laugh while looking at you. “And obviously that didn’t happen.”
Karen slapped a hand on the table, full on cackling. You smacked Eddie’s shoulder and cursed at him. “I actually hate you.”
Warren was doing a mix of laughing and coughing. “Bet that’s not what you said last night.”
You gaped at him. “Oh, my God, Warren. There’s something wrong with you.”
“Y/n and Eddie sitting in a tree,” Graham sang.
“Shut up!” You pressed your head into your hands again, desperately trying to ignore the unanimous laughter throughout the room.

To Love | Another Love Part Three | Eddie Roundtree x Reader
A/N: As of right now, this is the final part of this series unless I get requests asking for another installment. Thank you for all the support 💕
Warnings: Kissing, saying goodbye
Part One | Part Two | Part Three
Daisy Jones and The Six Masterlist
Tumblr media
You didn't see Eddie for nearly another year. It was hard, especially once you figured out what that feeling in your heart was. What had started off as a friendship had quickly become something more. The longer you were away from him, the more you realized your feelings for him.
While you may not have seen each other, the two of you did talk on the phone as much as possible. He told you about what was happening in LA, and you filled him in on life in Pittsburgh.
There were nights you fell asleep listening to the sound of his voice. You plugged your phone in by the bed so the cord wouldn't have to stretch so far just so you could talk to him longer.
Even when the two of you didn't have anything to talk about, you found something. Whether that was construction on The Strip or new animals in the zoo.
Hours would pass before one of you would have to hang up to get some sleep, even if you hated saying goodnight.
There weren't any labels on your relationship. You weren't even sure if Eddie saw it as anything more than a friendship. But you needed to see him. To feel yourself nestled into his chest again.
As soon as he told you they were coming to Pittsburgh, you told him not to bother with getting a hotel, that he could stay with you. It was closer to the concert venue, anyway.
He agreed and then had to be pulled off the phone for rehearsals. You bid him goodbye, falling onto your bed with a smile on your face. As giddy as a teenage girl, you imagined how it would be to see him again.
---------------
Warren dropped Eddie off at your apartment on his way to fill up the van's gas. Everyone else was already at the hotel, unaware of Eddie's plans to stay with you over them.
As soon as the buzzer rang, you raced downstairs to help him with his bags.
He had to drop his luggage as you ran fullforce to him, draping your arms over his shoulders.
"You didn't miss me at all, did you?" He teased, setting you back down on the pavement, grabbing his suitcase.
You took his other two bags, slinging one over your shoulder and holding the other in one of your hands, "No, not in the slightest."
"I can carry them, I don't mind."
Turning on your heel, you tilted your head, "You don't feel comfortable letting a woman carry your bags? Guess you're not as perfect as I thought."
Flustered, he shook his head, "No, no—that's not—I just—"
You broke out into a fit of laughter, "I'm messing aith you, Ed, don't worry."
He nodded, relief washing over him before another thought popped into his head, "You think I'm perfect?"
"Don't let it go to your head."
-------
Luckily for Eddie, you had a spare bedroom with a bedframe and mattress already set up. You had put on the sheets that morning, making sure everything was perfect for him before he arrived.
That night, with a record playing in the background, you poured both yourself and Eddie a glass of wine. Bringing it over to him on the couch,
That night, the two of you settled down on your couch, a record playing in the background as you poured yourselves a glass of wine.
Clinking glasses, you both took a small sip before you set the glass down on the sidetable.
"Can I ask you a question?"
He nodded, turning his body towards you, "Go for it."
"Everyone in the band—even Warren—has seen or is seeing somebody," You said, eyes wandering the room, "Why not you?"
Eddie looked down at his glass, swirling the wine around as he thought about how to respond.
"I'm sorry if I'm prying," You said, taking a large sip of wine, "You don't have to answer if you don't have to."
"Y/N, I—"
The buzzer rang again, cutting him off.
Groaning, you set your glass back down and went to the buzzer box, "Hello?
The other line was quiet for a moment, "Y/N?"
"Who is this?" You asked, the other end distorted.
"It's Graham."
You paused, "What do you need?"
"Look... Can we talk? Please?"
Looking back at Eddie, you hesitated, "I don't know."
"Just give me five minutes, please."
"Okay."
You buzzed him in, turning to Eddie.
"Who was that?" He asked.
Pursing your lips, you met his eyes, "Graham."
"Oh," Eddie frowned, "Should I—Should I give you two a minute or...?"
"No, you can stay there. It shouldn't take long."
There was a knock on the door a few minutes later. Taking a deep breath, you opened it, revealing a disheveled Graham on the other side.
"Your five minutes starts now, Dunne," You sighed, crossing your arms and leaning against the doorframe.
Nodding, he began, "I made a mistake, Y/N/N. I made a mistake when I walked away from you—from us. I want to give us a try. Please."
You were silent for a moment, not wanting it to hurt him too bad that you already had an answer in your head, "No."
"Please, Y/N. I want you. I'm choosing you."
"I don't want there to have to be a choice between me and someone else. I need someone who is with me without hesitation," You explained, "Graham, I've moved on."
He looked you up and down, in your nicest sundress, "Am I interrupting something?"
"Yes, Graham. You are," You said, growing increasingly frustrated with him, "What about Karen? Does she know you're here?"
"Karen and I are—I don't know," He said, tears swelling in his eyes, "No. She doesn't know I'm here. We had a fight."
You shook your head, "Graham, all you've ever really wanted in life was to be loved. Just because you can't get that for one second from one woman doesn't mean you can run to the next one you find and get it from her. I can't be that woman for you."
"You don't—you don't love me anymore?"
"A part of me will always love you, but I'm not in love with you. I haven't been for a while."
He nodded, accepting your answer, "Okay."
"Okay," You repeated, "Go get her, Graham. You don't want to lose this one."
With that, you closed the door, turning back to Eddie.
"I'm sorry about that," You apologized, "I didn't think it would take that long."
He rose from the couch, walking towards you, "Did you mean what you said? You're not in love with him anymore?"
You nodded, "I haven't been for a while, Eddie."
"Is there... Is there someone else?"
You began slowly stepping towards him, "There is."
"Who... Do I know him?"
"I'd say you know him pretty well."
The two of you were inches away from each other.
"I believe our conversation was interrupted," Your voice was just above a whisper, "So let me ask you again: Is there anyone on your mind?"
He nodded, tilting his head, "There is."
A dreamy smile appeared on your lips, "Do I know her?"
His lips were mere seconds from being on yours, "I'd say you know her pretty well."
With that, you closed the gap between the two of you, your lips moving against his.
Eddie's hands cupped your face before slowly moving them down to your waist. Your arms tangled around his neck, smiling as you leaned into the embrace.
There was someone else—and that someone was Eddie.

story love ( eddie roundtree/loving x writer! reader )
Tumblr media
content warnings — none, just toothrotting fluff (again). mutual pining, reader and eddie are oblivious idiots
wc — 1.1K
reading time — 3mins
requested? — yes!
a/n — woaahhh another one already!! let me know what you think of eddie on this one, i was struggling a little bit writing him. but regardless, i hope y'all like it!
——————————
It was something so absurd to come to terms with, but the more Eddie thought about it, the more he came to realize that he had been in love with you for most of your long friendship. He didn't have any clue, the way he fell for you, whether it was a slow progression of feelings or a singular moment in which something inside of his subconscious screamed, 'they're the one!'
Maybe it was your soft spoken personality, the shyness, the gentle understanding whenever someone confided in you, or the way you held your pen in your hand, so delicate as it glided smoothly across the pages of your leatherback notebook, the black ink staining the paper.
Or your distinctive handwriting, the chicken scratch embedded within your notebook, the heart's dotted over the I's.
Whatever it was, he just knew that he was entirely in love with you.
At first, he'd tried to push the feelings away, afraid that his confessing his feeling to you might ruin the friendship you had with each other, but he couldn't seem to hold back anymore now that he realized his feelings weren't just the regular, platonic feelings a friend should have for another friend.
It wasn't until just now that Eddie had realized his feelings for you, being up on stage playing with the band. There were so many girls out in the crowd that would die just to get a piece of any of the band members, but he didn't want any of them. During the performance, there was only one person he looked at the entire time, and that was you.
You, as you watched the band so intently, swaying along to the music in your seat, mouthing the words of each and every song to yourself, the way your lips turned up into the widest smile whenever you noticed Eddie staring down at you from his spot on the stage.
Little did Eddie know, the feelings were mutual. You were in love with him too... but, unlike Eddie, you'd known about your feelings the entire time, it wasn't something that had taken you years to realize. Why?
Because you knew that you'd been in love with him since the moment you met him.
And, like Eddie, you had a plan to confess your feelings to him tonight, with some story — more of a written love confession — you had written. It was more because you were nervous to confess your feelings out loud. It was a risky move, telling him this, because it could pose a slight risk of putting your friendship on the line.
Though, it seemed that you two were oblivious to this whole mutual pining thing.
It was immediate, from that moment he'd helped you pick yourself back up whenever he witnessed a bully push you down, causing your stuff to go scattered all over the floor.
"Oh, god.." you'd muttered under your breath, wanting to curl up into yourself and hide due to the embarrassment you felt in that very moment.
You moved frantically, trying to save everything on the ground from the cruel footsteps of the people moving from class to class, but you'd calmed down almost instantaneously once you felt a hand on your shoulder and see someone bend down to help you out of the corner of your eye. He collected the papers and books on the floor, handing them back to you.
"Eddie." He'd said, holding out his hand to shake when the two of you had finally stood back up, you slightly recovering from the embarrassment. Somehow, it felt better, with him there.
That was when you realized you loved him.
You nodded, a gentle smile playing on your lips as you took a hold of his hand, shaking it, "Hi, Eddie," your voice was quiet, soft, "I'm (Name)."
You finally released his hand, and Eddie smiled, "Pleasure to meet you," his tone was a bit playful, but you could tell he meant it.
"You, too." Your tone held no tinge of playfulness, it was still rather soft.
He had begun to walk away, but turned around to face you once more, "By the way," he started, "You're a really good writer."
He'd caught a glimpse of your notebook that day.
It must've opened up when it fell on the ground, allowing Eddie a bit of time to read it, but oddly enough, you didn't feel angry or upset, or even embarrassed like you should have. You felt more of a subtle joyfulness creep into your stomach, the kind that made you feel like you were floating on a cloud—
"Hey!" Eddie spoke, breaking you out of your thoughts as he pulled out a chair to sit at your table. Your smile grew wider, and you reached out to take one of his hands.
"Hey, Eddie!" Your tone was filled with excitement, and you squeezed his hand tightly, "I have something I want to show you!" you said, in a sing-songy way, which made Eddie's heart flutter rapidly.
The story.
But he managed to keep his composure, "Oh, yea?" he jested, absent-mindedly stroking his thumb over the back of your hand, "What is it? Did you write some amazing story about me?"
You gasped dramatically, "How did you know?" You fought off the urge to laugh as a slight expression of shock came over his face.
"Wait, did you really?" He removed his hand from yours, "Well, are you gonna show me?"
You laughed, moving to take your leatherback notebook out of your purse, opening it to the page you had written the story on and sliding it over to Eddie, watching nervously as his eyes scanned over the page slowly.
His heart was beating out of his chest as he read what you had written about him.. about how he made you feel, how he had changed your life. It seemed that this was a written love confession.
"Well," your voice was filled with something like expectancy, and your eyes scanned over Eddie's face, searching for any change in his expression.
He looked back up at you, saying nothing. His face said it all, and it seemed there was a moment of silent communication between you two as you gazed into each other's eyes. "I love you," he said, quietly.
Your breath caught in your throat for a moment and you coughed. It made eddie laugh as your eyes widened, "Hey," you said, a tinge of anxiety in your voice, "I love you too."
The noises around you two seemed to fade, and Eddie looked at you like you were the only person left in the room...
Eddie scooted his chair closer to yours, moving to rest his hand on your cheek. His face came closer to yours, trapping your lips in a sweet first kiss, your lips fit so perfectly together.
In this moment, it seemed like your love was one that lived in a story.

You matter to me
Eddie Roundtree x Fem!Reader
✧.* requested by @itzajeanspears — Hi!!! Love your writing so much!! Not sure if you’re still doing requests lol, butttt I have a really specific one so if you’d be able to do this I’d like actually die omg. Okay so I’m a fashion student from LA and I was thinking, the reader is like basically siblings with billy and Graham, (her dad and their mom started dating when they were kids so they were practically raised together) but she’s closest with Eddie in particular. They’re best friends. They’ve basically been attached at the hip since they were kids. They’re both secretly harboring feelings for each other and everyone knows it but themselves. She’s been there for them since the band started, like Camilla, making them outfits for gigs and stuff. and Eddie even takes her to prom when her date ends up being a jerk to her. Butttt the reader ends up moving to LA to go to fashion school (maybe eventually she can be their costume designer for the aurora tour 🙏) and Eddie slowly stops talking to her god knows why. Fast forward- The band moves out to LA and they stay with her until they’re stable enough to be out on their own. The tension is super high between her and Eddie and EVERYONE notices. Super Angsty. Ends in fluff and love confessions 🫶 maybe angry billy lol. AGAIN THANK YOU!!! I know that was super complicated. YOUR WRITING AND EDITS ARE AMAZINGGGG !!
✧.* you're reading part two, here's the part one — A letter?
✧.* summary — Eddie was waiting for your response, and when it never came... A wall was built between you.
✧.* warnings — none.
✧.* word count — 3.5k
✧.* 🎸 — Eddie's masterlist
✧.* mandy's notes — I know it took me forever!!! I'm so sorry, please enjoy! And let me know your thoughts about it :)
Tumblr media
I have no idea how to start this, my head has been a mess since our last conversation. I'm sorry for the way I left, I should've been more polite involving all we've been through in the last couple of months. I confess that I don't understand why you thought I couldn't support you in this situation, I've seen you dreaming about this day since I was ten years old, where we chatted about school and unattainable plans for the future… Seeing you achieve everything you dreamed of is like being hit by a ray of sunshine, I am deeply proud of you.
I wish you all the best on this new journey in your life, you are great and your talent is not left behind! Know that you wouldn't be there if it weren't for all your extraordinary talent. There is something in everything you do that exudes originality and no one can take that away or dispute it from you.
I decided to respect your choice and not go to see you on the day of your departure, I confess that this is demanding a lot from me, but I do everything to see you well. I hope you have a great trip and a great life there too.
I don't want to lie to you, I really hope you write me back, I have a huge hope that you'll give me another chance and we can work things out... I'll understand if you don't want that, I just want you to keep in mind that I love you. Fly towards your dream, and when you miss home, maybe my words will warm your heart.
Yours, Eddie Roundtree.
The bassist seals the letter with trembling fingers, he knew you would leave tomorrow and he still had his doubts about what he was going to do.He wanted to come see you before the match, kiss you gently, hug you as if you were going to escape at any moment... But he couldn't, if that was your choice he would respect that.
He knocks on the Dunne house three times, his hands trembling as he waited impatiently with the letter in hand.
"Eddie? What are you doing here so early my dear?" Mrs Dunne's sweet voice asks, she was quiet, probably because she was the only one awake in the house.
"I— I came to give this to Y/N." He extends the paper to her, confused, the older girl takes the object.
"Do you want to come in?" She asks, opening the door for him.
"No no, thank you." He seemed nervous, afraid that you would show up at any moment. "I really just came to leave this"
The madness was crazy the morning you were going to leave, you waited in secret for Eddie, a hope that he would appear was growing in you even though you wanted to kill it. Everyone else had made a point of saying goodbye, even Warren had stopped by to leave you some chocolate for the flight, but nothing from your boyfriend.
That's what you were, right? After all, there was no ending, not formally in so many words... Anxiety made you fear that when he left that had been your final point.
You open your arms to hug your considerate mother, Mrs. Dunne had been very present to you since she came into your life and saying goodbye was harder than you thought.
"I'll miss you so much." Her choked voice says, and you hold her closer.
"Oh honey, I'll miss you too." She answers, still holding you. "Anytime you need us, you just have to call. You have a family here."
At this point you were already in tears, and you let the hug go to wipe them away.
"Look." She starts to say, opening her bag to hand you something. "Eddie asked me to give you this."
Your eyes widen, you take the letter in your hands and leave for your new life.
You open the drawer of the nightstand next to your bed and return the letter to the place it always rests still not being able to open it, a sigh leaves you as you relive the night you had just had. Now that you were in the same city everything was more vivid, it was like living your teenage years again and it was frustrating. Of course you missed your friends and your brothers, but feeling Eddie's look at the back of your head was a huge distraction that kept increasing many questions in the same.
Eddie let the air out of his lungs as his body collapsed onto the bed he had fought for hours with Warren for, He lights a cigarette while staring at the ceiling and gradually sees the smoke draw your face, He hated how all the feelings he had put so much effort into hiding returned like the tide flooding over him, it was frustrating how you could make his heart race in a way no drug could ever manege to.
He knew that maybe all he had to do was just get over it, and that's all he was trying to do since you left Pittsburgh and him. Eddie was never the kind to get attached to relationships easily, he was used to having one night stands or just casual dating, so when his heart was captured by your gaze and the funny feeling of falling in love... He didn't know what to do.
The cigarette had come to an end and sleep had not even threatened to arrive, Roundtree sits on the bed regretting it before even finishing what he planned to do. He might not have talked to you during the party, but he was a good listener, something he didn't know if it was a blessing or curse until then.
He puts his leather jacket over the blouse he had worn to the party he attended hours ago, also grabbing some cigarettes before going down the stairs of the new house towards the keys to Rojas' van. He considers going to the drummer's room to tell him that he had borrowed the vehicle, but settles for writing a note in letters large enough for him to notice while he looks for it.
He let in his breath once again, shaking his head as he starts the van and heads towards what haunts his mind.
...
The three rings on the door make you lazily get out of bed, your arms go to the blouse thrown on the table before answering.
"Eddie?" You say between shock and yawn, your hands fix your hair automatically.
He avoids your gaze, looking directly at the ground as if he is very anxious. You wait for an answer, but nothing comes out of his mouth, you take a step forward taking his hand and leading him inside.
"Is everything okay?" You ask, after you both sit at the table in your living room.
"I don't know." He lets it out, wondering if he should actually do what he had planned. "I wanted to talk to you about everything."
"In the middle of the night?" You let out a weak laugh, trying to lighten the mood.
"I couldn't sleep, sorry I woke you up." He looked embarrassed, but it was as if being there was more comfortable than anything he had been doing before knocking on the door.
"We can talk, no problem.”
"With us moving here I imagine we'll see each other more often than we have over the years." He looks you in the eyes, the red of the cigarette in them. "And I don't want there to be a fight between us, I don't want there to be things that aren't clear."
You let the air out, trying to look as if you were mature for this situation. "What do you mean by that?"
"Even with our history, is everything ok between us?" He wanted to tell you that the answer was no, that he hadn't forgotten you, but it stayed in his throat just like the growing knot.
"For me yes, but for you I'm not sure." You are honest, letting the frustration go with your words. "You were the one who ignored me the whole party, I felt seventeen again."
"You don't need to be sarcastic." He says rolling his eyes.
"Since when do you call the truth sarcasm?" He arches his eyebrows at your response, you click your tongue against the roof of your mouth. "What I meant is that I'm over it, I just don't know if you are."
"You know what..." He gets up, adjusting his jacket on himself. "I think we've cleared that up, let's just be polite to each other and that's it. I see you around."
"You're kidding right?" A mocking laugh is let out by you, disbelief shines through. "Is that what you consider resolution?”
"I'll see you around." He says, you get ready to close the door. "Let's just keep things between us, like before."
Your eyes roll back and you slam the door shut, anger and confusion rising in your chest. How can he just show up in the middle of the night to turn your life around like that? You only feel the tears when they fall on your arm, was it frustration? You preferred to believe so, but seeing him treat you with so much indifference was painful.
Still angry, you go to the nightstands and open the drawer to take the letter in hand. Your vision blurred with emotions growing, you tear it apart and as soon as the first cut is made the rest are just a trigger for the pieces on the floor. You cry, regretting it and at the same time wanting to disappear... It hadn't even been twenty four hours since he had returned to your life and everything was chaos.
You collect the pieces and place them inside the box you found, trying your best not to glue the pieces together to read something that could be your answer.
...
You had done a good job of trying to forget about Eddie Roundtree, you had gone out with a few people and avoided running into him as much as possible when you met the band. But that became impossible when his brother went to rehab and his niece was born.
You moved into their house to help with the baby, Camila had never been so vulnerable and you couldn't feel more angry at Billy than in those first few months. Of course, you knew he wasn't one hundred percent to blame, addiction wasn't easy and it made you very sad to know he was like this.
Your move wasn't complete, you slept there some nights and other nights you went back to your house or studio to create some pieces of clothing. It was hard to face Eddie every day, but you two made a point of avoiding each other as much as possible.
It was hard to remember why you didn't like Eddie much when he was being so kind every day by your side, you start to remember why you fell in love with him in the first place. He was kind, funny, he helped everyone, but he was still the one that left you. And that was certainly the impasse for you to sympathize with him once again.
Night fell on the horizon as you leaned over the counter, a cigarette between your lips as you thought about everything at the same time.
"I see you still like the sunset, sunshine." The nickname makes your spine shiver, you don't turn around, you just let him get closer to you. "It always reminds me of you."
The chill comes to your belly, you turn away in disbelief. "What are you doing?"
He rolls his eyes, “Trying to get along with you, is it that hard?"
You let out a sigh, avoiding his eyes. "You want us to be friends?"
"What's the harm on that?" he asks, resting himself.
You shrug, trying your best not to ask every single question that haunted you over the years.
"You made yourself pretty clear that day in my place." That's all you say.
"Why are you acting like I'm a bad guy?" He's confused, upset in his eyes.
"You can't just keep doing this to me, appearing in my life and just leaving me!" You let out your frustrations, he looks at you without understanding. His gaze fixed on your eyes was overwhelming.
"What do you mean?" His voice was trembling, he took a deep breath. "Look, I know I acted childish that night, I shouldn't have just popped at your place and said those things. But I mean what I'm doing right now, I made one mistake... You're really going to blame me for the rest of my life?"
"One mistake?" You tried your best to hold back your urge to cry. "Look Eddie, it's been a long time. I understand if you forgot everything we've been through, I don't want to..."
"You're acting like I didn't care for you. Like I don't care." His voice was calm, it left you disconcerted.
"How can you say that you care for me if you haven't even reached for me all these years?" You turn to face the sky, trying to keep calm.
"I was respecting you!" He avoided coming closer, even though he wanted to take your hand in his. "I told you that! I—...
He stops when he sees your confused eyes, concern takes over his.
"You didn't read the letter, did you?"
You swallow hard, he waits for your answer but you open your mouth and close it without saying anything.
"Did you receive it?" He asks, you nod your head. "I don't understand..."
"I never read it." You confess, looking at your feet.
"Why?" He felt exposed, hurt.
You don't answer, he seems devastated.
"Fuck." He says passing his hands through his hair. "I can't believe this."
He left, leaving you alone with the sunset.
You made a point of coming home that day, there was no way you wouldn't go back to read that letter, your heart was aching with all the emotions that came up this afternoon. You were overwhelmed and feeling guilty, but at the same time confused... You needed answers.
When you managed to put the pieces together it was difficult to tell what was there, but your body softened and your heart tightened. There was your answer.
...
Daisy Jones was responsible for the band's growth after Billy's relapse, 'Honeycomb' was a masterpiece and the whole world knew it when those chords sounded on the radio. You were happy and proud for all of them, it was great to see them all achieving a dream that you followed from the beginning.
You were really excited to go on tour with them, You had already made many different pieces and I'm really looking forward to seeing them using what you created for them from the beginning. Today was the day of the first show, if you weren't even going to be on stage, you were nervous, you couldn't imagine how they were.
You couldn't contain the tears of emotion when you saw them there, the fans screaming excitedly and a long-time dream coming true, it was an amazing feeling and you were so happy to be part of this somehow.
It wasn't easy to deal with the information about the last situation you had with Eddie, of course, Billy had returned and you had spent less time together but that whole scene never left your mind. You tried to expel the flashes as much as possible while pretending to listen to what Camila was saying.
"Swetie, are you paying attention to me?" She says between a laugh, the music from the celebration party made it hard to hear her.
"Aham." You lie, watching Eddie talk to Warren and another girl you didn't know a few steps away. Camila follows your gaze, and turns with an arched eyebrow.
"What's going on?" She asks, her voice softly.
"I feel like I'll never be able to leave what we had behind me." You felt the words leave your mouth with honesty for the first time in a while.
"Have you told him that?" She asks, looking between you and him.
"I'm pretty sure he hates me, so..." You let out a breath, trying to hold back your tears.
"Eddie could never hate you Y/N."
"How can you be so sure?" You take a sip of your beer, avoiding looking at the distant group.
"Oh honey, if you only knew how many times he told me how he felt... How many songs I heard—
"Songs?" You cut her off, holding her arm. "He wrote songs about me?"
"Many." She responds, stroking his hand with a motherly affection. "You should talk to him."
You gather all your strength to follow her advice, and little by little you get closer to them. Warren is the first to notice you, waving in a comical way for you to come closer, Eddie avoids your eyes, the girl greets you with a small smile.
"Hey guys, the show was amazing." They smile at your congratulations. "I'm really proud of you guys."
"Thank you sunshine." Eddie says, almost regretting using the nickname. "I'm sorry..."
"It's okay." You say under your breath. "Look, can we talk alone for a second?"
"Sure." He turns to Rojas and the curly-haired woman. "I'll be right back."
Automatically you take his hand and guide him to a more private place, it's a few seconds of silence before you know how to start. He doesn't rush you, he just waits for you to feel good to begin with what you had planned.
"I read your letter." That's all you can say, he swallows hard. "I'm sorry it took me so long..."
"It's okay, it doesn't matter anymore." He tries to say, but you cut him off.
"It does! It matters and you know it." Tears manage to fill your eyes. "We matter for each other, you matter to me... And I don't know about you, and I know it's probably too late but I can't forget you."
He takes a step closer to you, never taking his eyes off of you. "What are you saying?"
"I'm saying I love you." A choked laugh comes out of you, it was impossible to contain it all longer.
"Fuck." He holds your face in his hands, touching your foreheads together. "Please, don't mess with me." He jokes.
"I'm done building this wall between us." Her voice was honest, her eyes never stopped staring into his. "I just want to be with you."
He kisses you, a kiss you've missed for years, a connection of souls, an inexplicable feeling. His hands cupped your cheeks and caressed your skin, you pulled him close to feel him after so long. He would always be your point of comfort.
"I love you too." He whispers against your lips, your eyes closed. "I love you so fucking much."
"I know it took a while but I kind of want to stay with you." You joke, he lets out a laugh.
"We can tell our children that we've been dating all this time, they don't need to know about this hiatus" He says while caressing your hair.
"Children?" Rojas' voice made you jump in fright. "Damn, you guys are emotional, huh?"
...

On October 4, 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six performed to a sold out crowd at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. They were one of the biggest bands in the world at the time, fresh off their award-winning, multi-platinum selling album “Aurora.” It would be their final performance.
In the 20 years since, members of the band and their inner circle have refused to speak on the record about what happened… Until now.
THE RISE OF THE SIX (1966-1972)
The Six started out as a blues-rock band called the Dunne Brothers in the mid-sixties out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Billy and Graham Dunne were raised by single mother, Marlene Dunne, after their father, William Dunne Sr., left in 1954.
BILLY DUNNE (lead singer, The Six): I always dreamed of something different than the typical laid out career paths. When Graham first got the idea to start a band, I assumed it was just to win back his girlfriend. He was, what fourteen? The kid thought his life was over. [Laughs] I guess in retrospect, maybe it was a good idea.
WARREN ROJAS (drummer, The Six): He was definitely trying to get his girlfriend back.
GRAHAM DUNNE (lead guitar, The Six): We were solid, fine for a while. When Chuck quit, we were out a bassist, which isn’t really something you can do without in a band. Billy originally wanted Eddie to switch to bass, but he wasn’t too keen on that.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE (rhythmic guitar, The Six): I was so sick of Billy trying to run the band, it wasn’t his band, or at least, it wasn’t supposed to be.
WARREN ROJAS: There was this girl in my math class, her uncle owned a music store downtown, and she used to give lessons to kids on weekends, it was mostly just some scheme by her uncle to get people to buy guitars.
BILLY DUNNE: She was a sophomore, a young sophomore at that, she wasn’t even 16 by the time she joined, I was a year out of high school and the rest of the boys are creeping on 17 and 18, she just didn’t fit. Warren gets all the boys on board before bringing the idea up to me so I look like the asshole if I say no, I wanted to say no too, but she was good and I didn’t have another option.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: She didn’t even show an interest in being in the band, she wasn’t begging us to give her a chance, we were near-stalking her at the music store, waiting for the perfect opportunity to hear her play and casually bring up that we happened to need a bassist.
JULIET OPAL (bassist/singer, The Six): They weren’t nearly as sly as they thought they were. I originally thought it was some attempt at stealing records or 8-tracks, y’know waiting until I wasn’t looking, but they kept coming back, seemingly just waiting for me to do something, what it was I didn’t know, but something.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: [Sighs] They decided I would be the one to talk to her.
The shop’s bell rang, signaling the door had been opened, which swung Juliet’s attention away from the magazine she was skimming and up to the front of the store, peering through the aisles to see who entered. A boy, one she recognized from the creeping on her from the previous weeks, made himself visible and she was immediately on high alert. He approached the counter, swallowing nerves as he did, and cleared his throat.
“Hi,” his voice was hoarse, she took the awkward silence as a moment to study him, he wore a striped shirt, loose jeans, and brown shoes, his hair could use a comb through. He extended his hand, “I’m Eddie, I think we go to school together.”
“Juliet,” she met his hand, “is that why you’re here, to tell me that we might go to school together? Or is there an ulterior motive, one that may explain why you and your friends have been spying on me the past week,” any speck of confidence Eddie had going into this was entirely gone.
“I’m in a band with some friends and our bassist bailed on us pretty recently. My friend, Warren, he’s a junior like me, I think he’s in your math class, said he saw you play bass and that you were good. We just wanted to see you play before we formally asked.”
“Formally asked what?” She leaned up from her elbows that she had been propped on.
“Oh, to, uh, like,” he stopped himself, licking his lips and sighing, “would you want to maybe play bass for us?” His eyes instantly went to his shoes and he stuffed his hands inside his pockets.
“Can I have a little more info maybe? It’s not personal, I just don’t know you, like at all and you could be the worst players for all I know.”
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: That one hurt, something about a younger kid who you have a solid five inches on insinuating that she’s better than you are, especially when you’re practically on your knees begging for her to help you out can feel like salt being rubbed into a fresh wound.
JULIET OPAL: What else was I supposed to do? [Laughs] Just blindly follow the older boy who had been spying on me for a week to the alleged garage that he practices in with his alleged band and hope for the best? I paid attention in the stranger-danger assemblies, I knew better.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: I invited her back to Billy and Graham’s but she said she had to close up for her uncle. Once we were out in L.A. she told me she actually just didn’t wanna leave with me and in hindsight, I can’t say I blame her.
The following morning Juliet and the Dunne Brothers skipped their first period and met in the Dunne’s garage. Juliet studied the wads of scribbled sheet music Billy had handed to her without looking her in the eye and she didn’t miss the way Eddie rolled his eyes at his hostility, and Eddie didn’t miss the way her upper lip curled into a smile as she saw his reaction.
After rifling through the stack of papers, she picked out one at random, and set it down on the table in front of her, leaning over to scan in a few times before pulling the strap of her guitar over her head. She looked over to the group of boys, standing huddled together with Billy noticeably further away and Warren nodded fervently at her with a grin overtaking her face.
After she played through the song, Billy made her play another, and another, and two more after that ‘for safety.’ Once he had run out of excuses for her to keep playing, he asked her to step out of the garage so they could confer with each other. After seven minutes and two overheard “c’mon man”s from Warren, Juliet was invited back into the garage and to serve as a temporary bass for the band, just until Billy could come to his final decision.
JULIET OPAL: He was stubborn even then, I’m honestly surprised he let me in.
BILLY DUNNE: I didn’t want to let her in the band.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: I wanted her in the band, I made sure Billy knew that.
JULIET OPAL: A week after I joined, we were playing a gig with the Winters.
The group stood backstage, listening to the music that was permeating into every corner of the room. Juliet stood sandwiched between Warren and Camila, listening to the band. They had a keyboardist, she caught Juliet’s eye once they had got backstage, when they finished playing and she got offstage, Juliet made a beeline for her, introducing herself.
“I’m Karen,” she introduced herself, “you play with these guys?”
“Mhm, I’m on bass right now, but in an ideal world I’d steal Eddie over there’s job,” she pointed to him and he smiled back, nodding his head up at her, unknowingly, “I won’t though, kinda like him, at least more than I do Billy,” Karen nodded, opening her mouth to excuse herself from the conversation, “y’know I’ve been saying we need a keyboardist.”
“Have you now?” That piqued her interest she stopped in her tracks and smirked over her shoulder.
“No,” she admitted, “but I’ve been thinking it.” Billy hollered her name, gesturing her over to the group, who were making their way onstage. She pulled a receipt with a phone number scribbled across it in black ink and handed it to Karen, “If you ever get sick of them, give me a call, I’ll put in a good word for you.”
“Do you always carry around drug store receipts with your phone number on them?”
“You never know who you might meet,” she shrugged and started sprinting towards the stage before calling out over her shoulder, “worked out this time. Wish me luck!”
KAREN SIRKO (keyboardist, The Six): She was so.. vivacious, so full of life. She apoke about a million miles a minute, if I wasn’t fully interested in what she was saying, I don’t think I would’ve caught a word of it. You have this young girl talking your ear off, she seems entirely sure of herself, but also still feels a need to prove to you that she deserves to be there.
JULIET OPAL: I liked Karen, how could I not? And based on the way events would play out, clearly I wasn’t the only one.
WARREN ROJAS: It was a great gig, Julie did great, not that we weren’t expecting her to, we were just worried about her, she had never done anything in front of a crowd before, but she did everything that actually counted right.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: On the drive home she sat next to me and she told me I played well, then she leaned in and kinda whispered and she thanked me. She thanked me for being the one to ask her to join because she would’ve said no to anyone else. [Smiles]

the way i loved you || eddie roundtree x reader
Tumblr media
tw : kissing, making out, profanity.
synopsis : jealousy isn't the best between eddie and you...
words : 932
Interviewer : Do you miss anything?
Y/N : Yeah. I do miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain.
Camila invited all of us over for her house party. The rain had cleared away as I sat in my taxi, giving me the perfect opportunity to run across the street without getting soaked.
The party was packed. People jammed in the house or outside in the backyard.
I looked around, desperately trying to find someone I recognized. I could only look for so long before a body was thrown on me and brown hair covered my vision.
“I’m so glad you made it, Y/N!” I could instantly recognize it as Camila.
“I’m so glad to see you, where are the others?” I asked as she was being pulled away by a mob of people.
“They might be outside. At least that’s where I saw Eddie and Graham last!” She yelled over the loud music as she was pulled with everyone.
I made my way outside as I saw the group of boys all huddled together. Except it was only Eddie and Warren.
“Y/N!” Warren exclaimed as he ran up to me, engulfing me in a hug.
I hugged him back, “Where’s Karen?”
Eddie sighed, “Her and Graham went off somewhere.”
I knew what was going on between Graham and Karen. They both liked each other, and they were terrible at hiding it.
The night went by and groupies came and left. They flirted with Eddie and Warren as I attempted to keep my eyes away from Eddie. It wasn’t a secret that I liked Eddie. I’m guessing most people knew, but it made me even more jealous the way he’d look at the girls that would sit on his lap.
I don’t even know how or why I started liking Eddie, I just did. He attracted me. I’d get butterflies if he’d touch my hand while trying to teach me with the guitar, or when he touched my waist when he would move around in the kitchen.
I sighed loudly before getting up and walking over to grab a drink. Everyone was with someone else as they danced and partied.
“Hey, you’re Y/N L/N, right?” A man’s voice said as he brought me out of my gaze.
I looked over to him, seeing a quite attractive man. I smiled, “Yes, that’s me.” The two of us continued eye contact.
The man grew flustered at my smile, “I’m sorry, I've heard a lot about you, and I’ve seen you in newspapers, wow.” He stammered.
The next hour went by in a blur. We madeout and that was that. I mean, it was a lot. I didn’t fully think of my decisions, do I regret them though? No, of course not.
After he had left (his name was Thomas), I went to the restroom, fixing myself up. My lipstick was smeared and my hair was a wreck. I didn’t get banged, but it looked like I did.
I took off the lipstick and patted water on my head, trying my best to look as presentable as I could.
The boys sat inside now, in the dark after the power had gone out. There were candles that were lit and blankets being handed out.
“Woo! Where have you been, girly?” Warren asked as he watched me walk down the stairs towards the couch. It was obvious something had happened, especially if my lipstick was off. Warren raised an eyebrow and smirked in response, which I rolled my eyes to.
“Nothing.” I said, flashing him a smile.
I looked over to Eddie who didn’t say anything, he just looked at me with disgust, he too rolled his eyes. I watched as he got up abruptly, bumping into people as he made his way out of the house
Warren sighed, “You should follow after him.”
The rain was pouring down hard. Harder than what I expected for LA. I could barely see Eddie’s figure in the rain, he seemed to be walking fast.
“Eddie!” I yelled over the rain. “Eddie!” I yelled again, running to catch up with him.
He turned to me angrily as we were inches apart. “What, Y/N? What now?”
“What has gotten into you? Why are you all of a sudden so mad at me?” I questioned as he held clumps of hair on his head.
“Nothing, Y/N! Nothing. Nothing is wrong because nothing happened.” He yelled.
By now, the rain had drenched both of us, and I shivered from the cold.
“If it’s nothing then don’t act like a dick.” I said to the brunette.
He only sighed loudly, “Fine, maybe it’s because you made out with that guy! Okay? You don’t understand.”
I scoffed at his response “You’ve made out with a million groupies and I don’t do shit about it. Eddie for fucks sake I’ve liked you for so long. You’re the one that doesn’t understand.”
I couldn’t deal with him anymore, so I decided to walk away from him.
I felt Eddie grasp onto my wrist as he brought me back to him, his hands had found their way to my cheeks as he desperately kissed me. I sunk into the kiss as the rain poured down on us. It was peaceful, no fighting and just us.
I pulled away slowly, allowing myself to breathe.
“You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to do that.” Eddie said as he touched our foreheads.
I laughed quietly, “You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for you to do something.”
Eddie : She misses me?

ms. americana & the heartbreak prince
eddie roundtree/loving x f!reader
description: eddie is your prince, girls are mean, and you love the boy so much that it hurts. good news is that he loves you just as much.
word count: 1.7k
warning(s): none
a/n: erm...hi!! first eddie fic and this man has been in my head for the last month non stop. bit of a fluff/hurt comfort piece. this is the first thing i've finished reading in a long time, and i have some more stuff in the works. please like and reblog, its really helps :)!!
"You know I adore you, I'm crazier for you Than I was at 16...I counted days, I counted miles To see you there, to see you there...Leave with my head hung, you are the only one Who seems to care..."
─── ・ 。゚☆: . . :☆゚. ─── ➶ ─── ・ 。゚☆: . . :☆゚. ───
Your hands were traveling all over Eddie's body, pulling at the collar of his shirt, tangled in his hair. His lips were desperate against yours, searching every part of you that you'd let him.
"Baby, I gotta go-" He gasped, breathing heavily as he pulled his lips away from yours. His hand gripped the back of your neck while the other rested against the small of your back. The crowd could be heard echoing throughout the walls of the stadium, their cheers and screams bouncing around the two of you.
You nodded, giving him a smile and one last kiss. "Walk me down to the room?" He nodded, helping you down from the amps you had found your way onto.
Eddie and you had been together for over five years, since the last half of senior year. He was quick to ask you to come with him, and you hadn't hesitated to follow him and the band out west to California.
Eddie swayed slightly as he walked you down to the back room, where the others would be, preparing to take their time on the stage. He was smiling his beautiful upturned, soft smile.
"What's got you so happy? Excited?" You asked, squeezing his bicep.
"Just thinking about how lucky I am, to have someone like you with me. If I could have anything in the world, I'd still choose you." He looked down at you.
Your chest tightened with something, filled with the love and excitement of knowing that you had him. Eddie could be a real hard ass, always getting too mad too fast. But somehow, you could never make him mad. Did you annoy him sometimes? Of course, but not as much as Billy or Graham could. Did he love to goof around with Warren? Duh, but when it came to you, it was like he didn't have anything to prove, anything to leave behind to know you would still be there after a show or a gig in a bar. And you felt great comfort in knowing that despite the drinking, the drugs, and the chance to flirt with another, he would never do anything that left you alone or in pain.
As you two arrived in front of the door you took his hand in yours, giving it a tight squeeze.
"I love you a lot." You smile, kissing his knuckles, running your fingers over the callouses that covered his fingers.
The door swung open and Warren let out a cheer, pointing his drumsticks in the air.
"Let's fucking do this!!" He yelled, a mirage of cheers coming from behind him. "Woah, sorry to interrupt lovebirds, but we have a show to put on." He laughed, pulling Eddie with him.
Eddie rolled his eyes, mouthed a quick love you, and began walking in stride with the drummer, the others quickly following behind, giving you a wave and smile.
You walked into the room, which reeked of weed and alcohol. There were three groupies sitting on the couches and lounging around the floor. They usually stayed around for a bit, went to the show, then came back to freshen up before the band got back. Usually, you and Camila would sit in the corner, talk about life with your boys, and talk about the next show. But Camila was at home, pregnant, and could not stand being around the waves of smells.
So you sat alone, leaning against the couch that was more focused in the corner, just a bit farther from the four girls that littered the room. Usually, they clung to Warren and Graham, but you weren't immune to the looks they would give Eddie, they did the same thing to Billy, whether you and Camila were or weren't here.
You sighed, leaning your head back, hearing the crowd get louder as the band began their set. The cheers were enough to make you excited to see Eddie after the show. He would be full of energy and power, seeing as this was one of the biggest crowds, based on what the sounds themselves told you.
"Hey, you're the one that's always with Eddie, right?" One of the girls called.
You looked towards her, her makeup slightly messy, hair blown back. She was smiling, and for a moment you thought she might be showing you a bit of kindness.
"Yeah, always by his side." You smiled, prideful that you made your presence around him notable.
"Mm, yeah, you should try to do that less." She smirked, her hand lifting another hill of powder up to her nostril.
You looked at her, confused about what she could mean. Your arms wrapped around one another, hugging yourself as you leaned into her words.
"Yeah, that's just like, hook-up 101. You don't want to annoy them, just give them enough to keep it up." She winked, as the girls around her laughed.
There was a sudden ache in the bottom of your stomach, the way she eyed you, the way she had let the words drip off her tongue.
"Well," You squared your shoulders, "Good thing I'm not just a hookup. Eddie and I are together, have been for a while."
"Oh, sure. I'm not doubting that, I'm just saying maybe if you acted like you were just a hook-up, he wouldn't have the need to go find one of us." She shrugged, pouting her lips.
The malice in her voice, in her eyes. There was serious pity in what she was telling you and you had no idea how to react. She could be lying, she could be just playing up a story to try and get a reaction. Why would you give her that and her friends that?
You silently grabbed your stuff and walked out. If you took one last look or said something you weren't sure if it would be with anger or tears. The crowd was still cheering, yelling out as the band began the second half of their set but the only thing you could hear was the pounding in your head.
You made your way out the area's back door, the one nearest to where the bus had parked. Teddy was right outside, smoking a cigarette.
"Hey, darling-" You looked over at him, tears welling over in your eyes. He immediately turned to you, a look of concern splashed over his face. "What's going on?"
"Nothing Teddy. Just um, you know how these girls can be." You gave him a soft smile, wiping away the tears in your eyes. He gave you a nod, saying nothing before offering you a cigarette from his pack.
You took it, lit it, and let out a long exhale as your head rested against the wall of the arena.'
"You know, I don't know how to get, sentimental. I'm not the best with words or anything, but I will tell you this: Eddie would never do whatever those girls in there said."
"It's alright Teddy, I don't need any lies or cover stories. I'm a big girl, he's a big guy, and I'll have that conversation with him." You smiled, taking another drag.
"I've toured with bands for almost fifty years and you think I'm gonna start covering them now? Look, I know how these guys tend to get. I've toured with lots of bands for a long time, and I tell you, that boy is one of the very few that has never even looked at another woman the entire time I've been here."
The tears began to well in your eyes again, that tight feeling in your chest returning. You knew Teddy was right. But there was always a small part of you to doubt Eddie even though he had never given you a reason to. You felt it could be because of what Camila had found out about Billy, and you knew everything he had put her through. You had been the one to hold her at the hospital after Julia came, as Billy was on his way to rehab. You could never see Eddie putting you through that, and for all you cared, Eddie was ten times the guy Billy had ever been.
"All I'm saying is, if anyone is gonna tell you the truth, it's that boy. And he's still going to apologize for even letting you think that way even though he had no hand in it."
So why put yourself through the what if's when you could ask the man that loved you for yourself?
"You're right." You flicked the burnt stub to the ground, and stomped it out, turning to Teddy. "Thank you, Teddy."
He smiled, and grabbed the door, letting you back inside. The show itself was coming to an end, you could tell as the chorus for Honeycomb began. You rush to a bathroom, fix your eyeliner and lipstick, fluffed your hair, then made your way back to the band's room.
As you opened the door you saw that the girls had all quieted down, trying to fix themselves up before the others returned. You weren't going to say a word, just going to let actions speak for themself.
A few minutes later, the band rushed into the room, cheering, and jumping around as the girls got up to greet whoever they wanted. You sat, waiting patiently for your boy to appear.
When he did, his eyes scanned the room, looking frantically for you. When they landed on him he made no hesitation to race across the room, dropping to his knees in front of where you sit.
"Hi baby." He smiled, catching you in a kiss. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders, his around your waist as he held you close to his body. He gripped you so hard you would think that someone was going to come into his arms and rip you away from him. He shifted around, so his head rest against your lap as you played with his hair.
And all the bad feelings disappeared. Maybe one day you would have the conversation with Eddie, tell him what had been said to you, what you thought she could mean. But for now, you knew that Teddy's words rang true. Eddie was a hothead, but he wasn't a cheater. He was someone whose heart had enough room for one person, and that just happened to be you.

Moving to LA had been much more isolating then you'd ever thought it'd be. Sure, you'd moved with there with some of your closest friends, but it still felt harrowingly lonely compared to what you were used to in Pittsburgh. In your small hometown, everyone knew everyone, so wherever you went, you saw someone you knew - here, in LA, you felt lucky to accidentally make eye contact with a stranger on the street.
Warren was the number one person happy to fill the needed affection you often sought out since moving to LA. He, himself, was quite the lover - always one to take a cuddle and hold onto a hug for way longer then most would deem appropriate - which was exactly what you needed. The two of you had spent many nights in bed together in LA just for the company of it, and not that you didn't like it, you just wished it was with someone else, instead.
"You coming to bed, sweet girl?" Warren asked with a tired drawl to his words, extending a hand out to you while the other held the remainder of his joint to his lips.
"In a little." You hummed back, taking a hit out the joint he offered out to you, the joint being held to your lips by Warren instead of taking it into your own hands. "I'm not tired enough to sleep."
Warren pulled the joint back to his lips, his other hand coming to brush your hair out of your eyes and behind your ear, his hand resting against your hair and keeping you tucked in the crook of his neck. "You want me to wait up with you? Or you can come keep my company? I'll put on some Fleetwood Mac, it'll help you sleep, baby girl."
That was another thing that you missed about Pittsburgh; the constant nicknames you let the others call you. Back in Pittsburgh, everyone had some kind of name to call you except the one you were born with. Now? Karen called you sweet-pea, Eddie called you birdie, Camilla called you sunshine as did Graham and even Billy, but Warren? Warren called you whatever he liked; sweet girl, baby girl, baby, doll, his.
"No, it's okay Warren, you go to bed." Warren scooped you up in his arms, placing you down in the spot next to Graham who had already opened up his blanket for you, then pressed a kiss to your cheek. "I'll leave the door open for you."
You let your head fall to Graham's shoulder, who pulled his arm out from between the two of you and wrapped it over the back of the sofa. He allowed you to tangle your legs up in his pyjama covered ones, making sure you were comfortable before he turned his attention back to the tv screen.
"You and Warren are sleeping together?" Karen had been the one brave enough to ask, the conversation between the two of you not unnoticed by the rest of the group - it being the only thing to break the silence in the past 40 minutes.
All heads turned to you, attention suddenly on something that had the potential to be more interesting then the rerun of Scooby-doo that had just started. "Not like that." You answered softly, eyes still focused on the cartoon dog and his gang on friends, not noticing how everyone else was now looking at you. "We both just like the company of it. I don't think either of us realised how lonely it would be coming out to LA."
"Cute." Camilla mused, a warm smile curling on her lips as she took in that even in your sleep you were reaching out for the touch and warmth of someone else.
"You're always welcome in my bed, sweet-pea." Karen added, a smile curling on her own lips as she managed to take your attention away from the tv. "I swear you run cold. Would be nice in the LA heat."
"You can't steal my blanket buddy." Graham gasped, pulling you tighter against him and furiously tucking the blanket around the two of you. "She's the perfect amount of cold. The windows open, with the blanket, with y/n is the perfect temperature for me."
"I'm going to have to pass on that one Karen, unless you want to come down to my room." You countered her offer with a soft smile, attention moving back to the tv once more. "Warren says your room is haunted."
Laughter spread through out the room as you sided with Warren even in his absence; he was so sweet to you, and that's what friends do, so how could you not?
"What?" You asked, laughing yourself. "We left it empty until your arrival for a reason." That caused another round of laughter to break out in the room, everyone enjoying the way the two of you were slowly but surely morphing into one person with the more time you spent confined in the LA rental.
A particularly loud shout of "scoob!" from the TV had everyone's attention turned back to the cartoon, letting the nature of your relationship with Warren lie for at least the time being.
By the end of the third episode, only you, Graham and Eddie remained in the room. Graham was fast asleep, his head leaning against yours making you trapped in his hold, and Eddie was sat in the armchair against the wall, legs curled into the seat and a bottle of warm beer in his hands that he'd been nursing for the last half an hour.
As the intro to the next rerun of Scooby-doo blasted from the TV, Graham startled awake, literally jumping out of his seat and pulling the blanket with him. He grumbled some attempt at what you thought was a goodnight, and stumbled sleepily out of the room, the warmth of him and the blanket leaving you alone on the couch.
Eddie got up from his seat without a word, joining you on the couch with his arm stretched over your shoulders and across the back of the couch cushions.
"I know you like him." Eddie teased, letting his arm fall around you and pull you into his side. He pulled the blanket off the back of the couch and placed it over the two of you, trying to keep you warm now that Graham had stolen your provisos blanket. "I can tell, I think we all can."
"Everyone except Warren, I guess." You complained, letting your head fall back against his shoulder, taking the warm beer he held in his hands and having a sip of it.
"He likes you too you know." Eddie laughed at the face of disbelief you pulled, taking the beer back from you to have another sip for himself. "All I'm saying is, you don't see me in his bed every night, and he likes me just fine."
You hummed into him, tucking your head away from the light of the tv screen, thinking about what Eddie was suggesting. His fingers moved to run through your hair, soothing you to sleep even if he hadn't meant to.
It wouldn't be the first time you had ended up in this predicament, you and Eddie cuddled up together on a couch in someone's living room, the night having gotten away from you. But it was the first time since coming to LA, the first time since you'd basically moved into Warren's bed, and if it weren't for the fact you were already half asleep, you would've felt sick about it.
Eddie wasn't far behind you when it came to falling asleep, his fingers shortly stilling and beer left half drank and held loosely between his fingers.
As people slowly began to filter into the living room the following morning, you made yourself plenty comfortable in Eddie's lap - instead of taking up the whole couch - allowing him to wrap an arm around your waist and hold you up and against him by your thighs. You lazily tuned into the conversation everyone else seemed to be having, mainly focused on eating the bowl of cereal Camilla had given you and the feeling of Eddie's fingers toying with the hem of your shorts. Picking up another spoonful of food, you offered him a mouthful, him taking it with a grateful smile.
"I thought you and Warren were sleeping together?" Billy asked, gesturing at you and Eddie with the tip of his spoon accusingly.
"And I thought we discussed this last night." You deflected with a shrug. Everyone apparently knew of your feelings for the curly haired brunette according to Eddie, but that didn't mean you had to admit them to them. It would only give them more ammunition to tease you with anyways. "Me and Ed's stayed out here last night, tried to stay up watching scooby-doo but failed, that's all."
"You and Ed's, huh." Graham asked, his eyebrow raised in suspicion.
"You're just jealous that she doesn't have a cute nickname for you." Eddie spat back, quickly coming to your defence as you offered him another bite of your cereal.
Scanning your eyes around the room, you took notice of the lack of a certain member of the sixes presence. "Where is Warren, actually?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Graham teased, earning a smack on the chest from Eddie who came to your defence as you left the room, leaving him with your cereal and an unusually rowdy Graham.
You crept into Warren's room, quiet as a mouse, hoping not to wake him up as you made your own way to bed. Despite your claim last night, you headed over first to the record player in the corner, pulling out your Fleetwood Mac vinyl and skipping to where Rhiannon should start. Turing the volume down enough that it wouldn't go outside the room but would reach you from Warren's bed. Cracking open the window just enough to let in a cool breeze, you finally got into what had become your side of Warren's bed.
No sooner then you'd lied down and turned on your side to slowly wake him, Warren was cosying himself into your side, nuzzling into your shoulder and wrapping his arm around you, intertwining your fingers.
"I didn't mean to wake you, m'sorry." You murmured, wiggling your arm out of his hold to wrap it over him, tangling your fingers in his mess of curls. You scratched gently at his scalp, Warren preening into your touch, yearning for it. "Well I did actually, but not like this, it's nearly 9."
"You didn't wake me, sweet girl." He purred, pressing a kiss, then another, then another to your shoulder. "Can't sleep without you, just been sat here all night trying to."
"Warren." You whined, shuffling to face him better at his confession. "You should've said so. I would've come with you when you first asked. You could've come to get me."
"I didn't want you to think I was needy." He whispered, avoiding your eyes as he busied himself in trying to get comfy now that you were in his arms again. "Plus, when I did come out to get you, you seemed pretty cosy with Eddie."
"We just fell asleep watching tv, that's all." You promised, feeling as a smile creeped onto Warren's face at your admission. "Nothing else. If I didn't have the blanket I would've come here, to you. I promise."
"You're here now, baby girl. That's all that matters to me." Warren was already dropping asleep, his need for it catching up quickly now that your presence was beside him, now that he was safe in your arms. "All that matters."
At your lack of response, Warren began to move, exhibiting the most life you'd seen in him since you'd walked into the room minutes ago. "C'mere hot stuff." Warren opened his arms to you, letting you shuffle down until your head rested against his chest and your arms were wrapped under his, going up his back and holding onto his shoulders from behind.
You gently scratched your fingers up and down his back, lulling him to sleep just as he was lulling you sleep with the soothing circles he was rubbing into your hip. You were quick to fall asleep again in his hold, as you did every night in Warren's bed, as did Warren, who, like he'd just admitted, couldn't sleep without you in his arms.

(i'll never be) your beast of burden. -> e. roundtree
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: just some profanity, based off the rolling stones song 'beast of burden' which i think is maybe the most eddie song there is
SYNOPSIS: The push and pull between you and Eddie Roundtree was never-ending. No matter how hard you tried to push him away, you always came back together. This is the first part of a new eddie series that I think will be three parts! word count: 2,632
Pittsburgh, 1967
You shook out your hands, bouncing on the balls of your feet and trying to calm your nerves. You were standing outside Graham Dunne’s garage, the strap of your bass slung across your shoulder, trying to pretend that you didn’t actually care how this all turned out. Eddie Roundtree had approached you at your job the afternoon before, telling you about the band he was in and how they needed a bassist, rounding out the conversation by asking you to come by and play something. You didn’t even know how Eddie knew you played bass; sure, you’d gone to school together for most of your lives, but you had never been close, or even really spoken much outside of the occasional conversation in class. You didn’t dwell on it though– you had been knocking around the idea of starting a band or trying to find one to join for a while now, and now the opportunity you had been looking for had fallen right into your lap. You told him you’d stop by.
“Just trust me on this one, okay?” you heard Eddie’s voice, muffled and distant, from inside the garage. They didn’t know you had arrived yet, and you took a minute to idle outside to hear what they were saying.
“Alright, but I mean, I’ve never heard her play. I didn’t even know she played an instrument at all,” a different voice piped up. You placed it as Billy Dunne. You didn’t know him personally, but you and Graham used to do homework together at his house in grade school since you lived just up the street, and Billy was always lurking around.
“Well she’s coming today so you could hear her play,” Eddie responded indignantly. “She’s good. I’ve heard her down at Music Barn, testing out different basses.”
You raised your brows. So that was how Eddie knew about your bass playing. You were at Music Barn, the music store in the neighborhood, all the time, and now that you thought about it, you remembered seeing Eddie there a few times, checking out guitars or records. Taking a deep breath, you walked forward, deciding it was time to make your presence known.
“Hey, guys,” you smiled, coming around the mouth of the garage. Eddie, who had his back to you, turned and smiled, as did Graham and Warren. Billy, standing in the center of the floor, merely fixed you with an appraising frown.
“Hey, (y/n)! Glad you came,” Eddie said. “So, I told you about it yesterday, but let me give you a run-down. Billy’s our frontman, Graham’s on lead guitar, I’m on rhythm guitar, and Warren back there is on drums.”
“Cool,” you nodded, looking at each of them as Eddie introduced their roles. “So, you’re looking for a bassist?”
“Maybe,” Billy cut in, before Eddie could respond. “We just wanna hear you play today. See what you can do.”
You shrugged, getting yourself ready to play. “Not much of a band without a bassist.”
Warren snickered from behind the drum kit, and tried to hide it by turning it into a cough. You smiled to yourself, before blanking your face to look over at Billy. His expression towards you had grown slightly more hostile. “Can I play now?”
“Floor’s yours,” Billy said, stepping back to give you some room. You had decided on playing Sunshine of Your Love, off Cream’s new album. It was what you had been working on learning anyway before Eddie asked you to come play for them, and you spent all of the night before polishing it up.
Despite your anxieties, you played the whole song flawlessly. The further you got into it, the more everything dropped away, until it was as if it was just you, standing alone in the garage, playing your heart out to a familiar song that you loved. You could feel it in your very bones, at the end, that you had killed it. There was no way those boys could be anything but blown away. When you opened your eyes, you saw all four of them staring at you, and you smirked, reveling in the success.
Billy cleared his throat. “Okay, do you mind if the four of us talk alone?”
“Sure thing, I’ll be out there,” you said, backing out of the garage. You went to sit on the back stoop of the Dunne house, pulling a cigarette from the carton in your jacket pocket and lighting it. You forced your mind to focus on anything but the band huddle happening thirty feet away from you; it would do you no good to start getting anxious all over again. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Billy strolled out of the garage, followed by the rest of the band.
“Okay,” he said, coming to a stop in front of where you were sitting. “You’re in– on a trial basis. We’ve got a few gigs coming up, so we’ll see how you do.”
You stood up and nodded, offering your hand for the taller man to shake. “Thanks, Dunne.”
***
You were standing in the kitchen chopping vegetables for dinner when the phone rang. Quickly, you slid across the room to turn the radio on the counter down, before pulling the phone off the hook and nestling it between your head and shoulder, resuming your chopping.
“Hello?”
“Hey, (y/n), it’s Eddie,” the boy’s smooth voice filled your ear. “Billy asked me to get you familiar with our songs before the gig on Saturday. You free any time before then that we can get together?”
“Yeah, sure,” you nodded. “I’ll be home tomorrow by seven. Bring you and your guitar over my place?”
“Alright, see you then.”
Eddie turned up at your house five minutes after seven, guitar slung over his shoulder and a smile on his face. You had been idling in the living room since you got home, practically hovering by the door so you could make sure none of your other family members could answer it before you got there.
“Hey,” you smiled, stepping out onto the front stoop and closing the door behind you. “We’re gonna go ‘round back to the garage, a’right?”
“Sure, sure,” Eddie nodded, following you down the driveway and toward the small garage where you always practiced your music. Nobody else used it, and you had transformed the cold, concrete room into a place of your own. Colorful Christmas lights were strung up all around, an old oriental rug that used to be in your dining room covering most of the floor, a ratty leather couch you had bought at the thrift for twenty bucks shoved off to one side. You had a minifridge stocked with iced teas and Cokes, and a tiny bookshelf full of your favorite novels in the corner. Truthfully, you spent more time out here than in your own bedroom when you were home.
You lifted the garage door, and Eddie stood in front of the scene, taking it all in. He whistled, one long, low note. “This place is sick.”
“Thanks,” you laughed. “I’ve been fixing it up for myself ever since I got my job down at the bookstore. Most of my spare cash goes into it.”
“We should move band practice here,” he joked.
“You guys are always welcome, if Billy allows it,” you shrugged. “So, how many songs do I need to familiarize myself with before Saturday?”
“Oh, well we’ve got three originals that we usually play at gigs. Other than that, it’s just popular songs that you probably already know,” Eddie explained. He reached into his jacket pocket and took out a little leather notebook, handing it to you. “This is my notebook from the last few weeks. I’ve been playing bass since we lost Chuck, so I wrote out all the notations and stuff. But you can have it now.”
You accepted the notebook from him, opening the cover and flipping through the pages. Only the first third were filled, plenty of room for you to add your own notations for these or further songs. Eddie’s handwriting was quick and spidery, cramping page after page. It looked like him, you thought. “Thanks, Ed. We’ll get started then?”
Eddie got right to it. He had a productive process for teaching you, starting with playing a recording of the song, and then playing the isolated bass parts for you, before having you play it back to him. Any time there was a mistake, he’d stop you gently and point it out, showing you the exact positioning of his fingers on the frets or playing the same part over and over for you patiently until you nailed it. You liked that about him, the way he was so driven and focused, yet so patient with you as you learned.
The hours flew by, but you hardly noticed. Before you knew it, it was nearing midnight, and you had gotten through two songs already. Eddie didn’t seem tired, and you weren’t either, so you started in on the last one. As usual, he played the recording for you, and then did the isolated bass part himself, before it was time for you to try.
You started on your first attempt, and were mostly successful, until somewhere in the middle when you missed a note in a faster section. You tried again, and made the same mistake. Seeing that you were getting increasingly frustrated with yourself, Eddie stepped closer to you, placing a hand on the body of your bass to get you to stop playing.
“Can I show you?” he asked, and you nodded. Eddie took your hand in his, manually positioning your fingers on the frets. “There’s the note before it, and then…” he started, moving your fingers slightly, “there’s the note you keep missing. The tempo’s a little tricky there, but you’ll get it.”
You nodded distractedly, staring down at the position of your fingers on the bass, trying to commit the position to memory so you could get it right the next time, but all you could think about was how warm Eddie’s hand was, closed around your own. You looked up and he was still right there, so close to you, breathing your air. His eyes bore down into your own, and all you could think was that they were the perfect shade of brown, beautiful, even, with the reflection of your colorful lights dancing in them.
You cleared your throat, taking a small step backwards and trying to refocus yourself on the task at hand. You didn’t know when Eddie had gone from a classmate, an acquaintance at best, to someone whose pretty eyes and warm hands made your chest tight, but it was distracting, and distractions were not something you could afford at the moment. You were only in the band on a trial basis, as Billy had emphasized several times since you first played for them, and you needed to work your ass off to show them that you were worthy of becoming a permanent fixture. Developing a stupid crush on the rhythm guitarist was not going to help that, and honestly, it was a little pathetic.
Eddie blinked as if coming out of a trance, and took a small step backwards himself, putting a little more room between the two of you. You missed the warm weight of his hand on yours. “Okay, let’s hear it again.”
You nodded, closing your eyes for a moment and recentering yourself, before starting in on the song again. This time, you hit the troublesome note perfectly, and had to suppress yourself from celebrating until you made it all the way to the end of the song. Eddie was beaming at you when you finished, pride in his eyes.
***
Saturday had come faster than the speed of light, and you hated to admit it, but you were dreading your first gig with the Dunne Brothers. You had spent every waking moment in the last few days practicing what you had learned with Eddie, and you were sure you had it down, but the pressure was on. You needed to be perfect, needed to show them that you were the right fit for the band. The thought of the possibility that Billy could reject you after this was stomach-turning.
You did your best to cover up the anxiety. You dressed in your favorite pair of jeans and a crotchet top, your hair done up nicely and a minimum amount of makeup on, trying to find a good balance between looking your best but still being taken seriously by the guys.
The guys came by in the van and you piled into the back, cradling your guitar case to your torso and doing your best to look nonchalant and relaxed. Eddie was looking over at you, an amused look on his face.
“What?” you asked, tilting your head at him.
“You okay?”
“I’m fantastic, Roundtree, absolutely perfect. Why do you ask?” At this, Eddie raised an eyebrow, even more outwardly amused with you.
“If you say so,” he said, hands raised in surrender. After a few moments of quiet, the only noises filling the air being the radio and Warren tapping his drumsticks on the back of the seat in front of him along to the song, he spoke up again. “You’re going to be great, man. You nailed all the songs we worked on in one night, and I know you’ve only gotten better since then.”
You sighed, feeling some of the anxiety come loose in your chest. “I hope so.”
Eddie was right, of course. You played through the whole setlist flawlessly. After the first song, you finally began to loosen up and enjoy yourself, and by the time the gig was over, you never wanted to leave the stage. This was it; this was the reason you had wanted to join a band in the first place. The rush of energy up your spine at the sheer amount of attention on you, feeling the music physically move through your bones and muscles. Now you knew for sure that there was nothing better in the world.
When you got backstage, you shoved your bass into its case and, without thinking, threw yourself into Eddie’s arms, your own winding around his neck. He was momentarily surprised, but his arms immediately wound tightly around your waist, squeezing you to him so tightly that your feet left the ground. When he put you down, you stared up at him, beaming.
“I was fucking great! We were fucking great!” you shouted, and Eddie’s smile broadened at that. “I just– thank you, Eddie. For teaching me the songs the way you did. For getting me here.”
You could’ve sworn there was a light dusting of red on his cheeks at your words. “It was nothing, (y/n). You belong here, you just proved that much on stage.”
Billy walked over to you both, and to your surprise, there was a smile on his face. You turned your attention fully to him, trying to tamp down the anxiety that was seeping through your euphoria. This was it, the make or break moment. You could tell from one look at his face that Billy had already decided whether you’d permanently be joining the Dunne Brothers.
“You were great out there, (y/n),” he said, and your smile broadened. “We’d all be very happy if you decided to really join us.”
“You’re offering me a permanent spot as your bassist?” you clarified.
“If you want it? Hell yeah,” Billy said.
“Abso-fucking-lutely I do,” you grinned, once again sticking your hand out for Billy to shake. He did, and you swore you could actually see your whole future shaping up, right there in front of you.

“driving me crazy”
eddie roundtree x fem!reader
you and eddie have never gotten along. is it because you hate each other, or is it because you’re both to proud to admit something?
enemies to lovers😏😏 also idk how long this is bc tumblr doesn’t have a word count smh but it is longer than my other stuff
warning: making out at the end (spoiler lol), suggestive
part 2
EDDIE: Y/n, man. That woman is no joke. We hated each other, at least for a while.
Y/N: He was always such an ass to me. Eddie, I mean. I really hated him. (pause) Until I didn’t.
The burning hatred Eddie felt for you started the day you auditioned for the band. Chuck had just left for school, and Eddie wanted to move from rhythm guitar to bass.
Like always, Billy shut down his request and decided to let people audition for the position. In his words, he wanted someone to “earn it.”
Eddie was already irritated from seeing Billy act like the previous performances were better than what he could do, so you can imagine how he felt when one actually was.
The last audition of the day. You strode up the driveway, big sunglasses over your eyes, sporting jeans and a tight tank top, but definitely not a smile.
Eddie just knew. There was no way he was getting that spot. Your playing didn’t even shock him. Of course, it was fantastic. Just great.
After that, it was all cold stares and angry glares. He wanted to make it very clear that he didn’t like you. He made a considerable effort to stay out of your way. He wouldn’t speak to you, look at you, or even think about you. Well, he tried very hard not to.
One night, a few weeks after your admission, you fell into step with him as he walked home after a rehearsal that ran long. He was moderately surprised by this and figured you would go away if he just ignored you.
You didn’t. You pulled out a cigarette and placed it between your lips. “Have a light?” you asked.
He furrowed his brows, trying to figure out what you were doing. After a moment, he nodded, pulled out his lighter, and lit your cigarette.
“Thanks,” you said. “So, is there any reason why you hate being around me?”
He was so taken aback that he stopped walking. “Sorry?”
You looked at him from over your sunglasses. It made him sort of angry that you were wearing them at nine p.m. when it was pitch black.
“You gonna answer the question?”
“Yes, there are many reasons.” Bullshit. There was only one and, honestly, it wasn’t a very solid one.
You said nothing and walked back up to him, removing the cigarette from your mouth and putting it out on his denim jacket, burning the material.
Eddie was more bewildered than mad when you pushed the glasses to the top of your head and smiled at him like you’d just done him a very nice favor. He never noticed your eye color before then, or how it looked in the moonlight.
“By the way, that jacket really reminds me of Billy.”
Okay, now he knew he was mad. He struggled to come up with a comeback and just moved his mouth in a stupid way that made you laugh when you left him standing there.
EDDIE: She knew exactly what she was doing. She’s always been good at that, making me mad on purpose.
Y/N: It was really funny. He doesn’t think so, but I was laughing about that for days.
The two of you continued throwing insults at each other for the months leading up to LA. Eddie’s favorite thing to do was comment on every mistake you made, much to everyone’s dismay.
He was just jealous of your abilities and, deep down, he admired them. You always knew just what to say back to him, adding unnecessary fuel to the fire.
More than once Billy had to yell at you to stop fighting. You both would resort to sending each other hateful looks and crude hand gestures for the rest of practice.
Driving to California was the real hell. Being cooped up in that van with Eddie for that long made you restless.
If it weren’t for Camila holding you back, there would’ve been several times where you launched yourself at him.
It was so nice to have another girl around. Camila was a good mediator for the two of you. You missed that when you went on tour.
Karen also knew how to break up a fight, but sometimes she would let you hash it out for the fun of it. Not like you minded, she probably knew how much fun you had while messing with Eddie.
Soon enough, things went downhill. Camila had the baby, which was good. Julia was such a sweet baby. Billy went to rehab, which was also good, for him and his family, but bad for the band.
The tour was canceled. A lot of money was lost. It was not a very fun time.
You sympathized with Billy. He had been going through a lot, and you understood how hard it was for somebody to recover from that level of drug abuse. Addiction was a gene that seemed to run in your family, with your mother being absent for most of your life and your father having to pick up the pieces.
Billy and Camila were the only people who knew about it. You didn’t think the others needed to know when none of them could relate to your situation.
Eddie didn’t understand. He went on and on about how bad of a guy Billy was. It made you furious the way he implied that Camila should leave him.
The rest of your fights were petty compared to the one you had on the day Billy got out of rehab. Eddie started complaining about Billy’s nerve or something along those lines. You flipped out. You told him he had no idea what he was talking about and stormed out of the room.
That shut him up. He stared blankly at the door you just walked out of and thanked God that it had only been the two of you in the room before.
He was relieved that no one else heard what he said because realized he was being childish. Even though he hated Billy he should still be proud of what he overcame.
He rushed out of the room to find you locked in the bathroom. He knocked once, twice, three times before a sharp, “What?” came from the other side of the door.
“Y/n, come out and let me talk to you.”
He heard your muffled scoff. “You’ve said enough.”
“I want to apologize.”
He couldn’t see it, but your eyebrows rose involuntarily. You undid the lock and opened the door. Your arms were folded over your chest as you nodded at him. “Keep going.”
“I’m sorry I said all that crap about Billy. It’s been a rough time for him. For all of us,” he said, sounding genuine.
This was shocking to you. He had never apologized to you for anything he said, even if it happened to be cruel and borderline disrespectful. He had this vulnerable look on his face that made you feel like you could tell him things.
“I’m not just upset about Billy,” you admitted. “This whole thing just reminds me of my life growing up. You don’t know this about me, but my mom was not the best at, well, being a mom. Unlike Billy, family wasn’t enough to pull her out.”
You weren’t sure what he was going to say. Then, he said nothing and pulled you close to his chest. His arms were around your shoulders, and you hesitated to hug him back.
He smelled of pine, and you couldn’t stop yourself from inhaling his scent. You stayed like that for a few minutes, until you heard the front door open and sprang apart.
Warren and Graham announced their arrival, and Eddie cleared his throat before joining them in the kitchen. Now it was you who stood alone in bewilderment.
EDDIE: This girl that hated me was trusting me with something, and I didn’t even know why. That was the first time I saw her for the woman she was, and not for the competition she used to be. As it turns out, I didn’t really hate that woman.
After that debacle, things were kind of weird between you and Eddie. He would still act like a dick, but in a different way.
Instead of, “Wow, could you be any worse at this?” he would say, “Wow, could you look any hotter right now?” He used the same douchebag tone for each, but his comments became flirtatious as time went on.
You usually had a witty retort to fire back at him, but there were some times that his words left you flustered and unable to think properly.
Karen noticed this first, giving you a questioning look from the other side of the studio. You waved her off and rolled your eyes at the thought of Eddie seriously flirting with you.
Warren and Graham caught on next, teasing him about it whenever they got the chance. He denied all allegations of being into you.
You refused to acknowledge Camila’s allegations either. The dynamic you shared with him now was different, but you kind of liked it. You would never admit it though, wanting to keep up the illusion that you still hated his guts.
Eddie walked into the kitchen and grabbed a muffin from the table you sat at. “Morning, smokeshow.” He smirked as he looked back at you from over his shoulder while crossing the room to the fridge.
“Shut up, Eddie,” you said with a mouth full of cereal. Shamefully, you felt heat climb into your cheeks.
He snickered as he sat down across from you. “Really? That’s all you got?”
You swallowed your food and glared at him. “Give me a break. It’s eight in the morning.”
He gave you his signature smile before flipping through the magazine on the table. Karen walked into the kitchen and sent you a knowing look once she saw you and Eddie being civil.
She made her own breakfast, and took Eddie’s seat when he left. “So, anything interesting happen recently?”
“Besides having a hit single, not much. I do really like that Daisy girl, though.”
Karen stared at you blankly. “You know what I’m talking about.”
You placed your fingers to your temples and closed your eyes. “I sense something brewing between Karen Karen and Graham the Man. Nothing else between any other band members, so it would be pointless to ask.”
She laughed. “I sense nothing of the sort. I’m letting Camila deal with you. I just can’t anymore.”
Y/N: Looking back on it, we were pretty insufferable.
With Billy and Daisy writing songs by themselves, you and the others had some time to kill. Karen and Graham were off at the beach while you hung back with Warren and Eddie.
They really loved Rollerball. Either that or they were really high. You were willing to bet on the latter.
By the third showing, you didn’t fail to notice how close Eddie had gotten to you. His arm brushed against yours, and he leaned his head close to yours.
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, moving away from him and bringing your arm off of the armrest.
He frowned and folded his arms over his chest. Both of you knew something just happened, but refused to acknowledge it. The tension in the air was thick.
Once back at the house, you went to your room immediately. You planned on calling Camila and bothering her with questions about what all these shenanigans with Eddie mean.
What you didn’t expect was Eddie following you into your room and closing the door behind him.
You glanced up from the phone. “What are you doing? Get out, I’m busy.”
The phone rang twice before Camila picked up. “What are we?” Eddie asked. You hung up before she could get a word out.
“What are you talking about?”
He looked more annoyed than he did angry, but the tone of his voice suggested otherwise. “Well, one second you’re rubbing up against me in a movie theater and the other you’re acting all pissed about it.”
You physically cringed. “‘Rubbing up against you?’ That is not what happened.”
“Then what about all those times you tell me I’m hot, huh?”
“You’re the one who initiates that!” you said exasperatedly. “All I do is respond. If you’re trying to insinuate that I flirt with you, then that’s all you.”
He marched up to you until he was mere feet away. “You’re so hot and cold that it drives me insane. Do you want me or not?”
Your eyes narrowed. “Pretty bold of you to assume I would want you.”
He made a wild gesture with his hands and ran one over his face. “You’re exhausting. You make me so mad, and I hate that I like you.”
“Shut up, you don’t like me. We hate each other.”
“Oh, my God, you don’t get it.” He pinched the bridge of his nose with two fingers. “I think about you. All the time. When I see a stupid joke in a magazine, I think of you. When I hear a John Denver song, I think of you. You drive me fucking crazy, Y/n! People who hate each other don’t think about each other like this, don’t act like this. I like you, for God’s sake.”
You couldn’t help but laugh a little. “You listen to John Denver?”
“That’s all you have to say?” He tried sounding angry but he was laughing too.
“I thought you were a rockstar.” You mocked him by holding up two ‘rock on’ hand signs.
“You don’t even care about the sentiment.” He rolled his eyes.
“Be quiet.” You were smiling when you kissed him, cupping his face while his arms snaked around your back.
You tangled both hands in his hair as he deepened the kiss by tilting his head and letting his tongue enter your mouth.
Your fingers messed up his hair before moving down to tug on his shirt collar, pulling him impossibly close.
He tapped your thigh and pulled his lips from yours to whisper, “Jump.”
You complied. He held onto your back with one hand as the other gripped your thigh while your legs wrapped around his waist.
Your hands came back up to rake through his hair, tugging it softly. He continued kissing you feverishly as he made his way to your bed. He almost dropped you when he lowered your body to it.
He climbed onto the bed and hovered over you, kissing down your neck while you gripped his shirt.
“It’s quiet,” Karen said, sitting on the couch, no longer hearing the near screaming match happening in your bedroom.
“Too quiet,” Graham agreed. Warren stood up and pressed his ear to the door, his mouth dropping open.
“Guys, I think they’re boning in there.”
“Warren, please refrain from saying ‘boning.’”
