in a nutshell:

in a brief explanation: Scott wrote a story in the latest Tales of the Pizzaplex book about the alleged game developer mentioned in FNAF: Help Wanted, in which he says that everything from FNAF 1 to FNAF UCN was just the game developer making games off from rumors and mysteries surrounding from the actual murders that happened there

so everything we ever knew about the Aftons, the Emilys, everything: complete fiction. it’s a goddamn “it was all a dream scenario”. FNAF HW & Security Breach may be the only confirmed canon now.
