Akemi Kyo fue encontrada por los jedi en un aquelarre de hermanas de la noche. Nunca supieron si era hija directa o había sido sustraída de su verdadera familia.

Al principio su entrenamiento como padawan estaba dando frutos y resultados esperados. De cierta forma era querida, sus ojos miel y cabello oscuro que contrastaba con su piel pálida eran características que nadie olvidaba. Sin embargo, una sola noche bastó para que todo se desmoronara.

Tenía 16 años y se estaba preparando para meditar en uno de los jardines del templo. Colocó en el suelo un pocillo alargado y circular que había hecho en su tiempo libre, sacó ramas secas que recolectó durante el día y finalmente dejó caer un fósforo para hacer fuego. No había nada detrás de esa pequeña costumbre, solo la ayudaba a meditar y controlar la llama. Se sentó en el suelo, pero sintió el impacto de una pequeña roca contra su cabeza. Giró rápidamente y no vio a nadie.

Llevaba días sin poder dormir, se convenció de que esa era la causa de empezar a sentir cosas que no eran reales. Hasta que nuevamente sintió el impacto, esta vez en su espalda. Entre la poca luz, por fin logró visualizar una figura humana a unos cuantos metros de ella.

Nunca olvidaría esa noche, una padawan de rango superior la atacó porque leyó sus archivos y descubrió las circunstancias en las que Akemi fue encontrada.

—¡Ya suéltame! —suplicó tratando de escapar del agarre que la otra ponía en sus brazos.

—Las brujas no deben estar en la Orden Jedi.

—¡Pero yo no lo soy!

Casi gritó del dolor cuando las uñas de la desconocida empezaron a clavarse en su piel por la fuerza del agarre.

—Las brujas como tú deben arder.

Con un movimiento rápido, la desconocida la tomó del cabello y cuello para acercar el rostro de Akemi al fuego.

—¡Basta! —gritó con tanta fuerza, que su garganta dolió.

De pronto todo se detuvo y quedó en silencio. El fuego se apagó de repente. Cuando Akemi abrió los ojos, se encontró con la desconocida suspendida en el aire, rodeada de una extraña neblina roja. Akemi se levantó del suelo y notó que aquella neblina emanaba de ella. Sus ojos se llenaron de lágrimas y miró su cuerpo aterrada y confundida. ¿Qué le estaba pasando? ¿Cómo lo detenía?

—Eso sí es fascinante —dijo una voz detrás suyo.

Cuando se giró, un padawan de su misma edad observaba la escena de cerca. Tampoco olvidaría ese cabello negro que le recordó a una noche sin estrellas y esos ojos pequeños pero llenos de brillo por lo que veía.

—¡Ayúdame! ¿Cómo detengo esto?

Antes de que el padawan pudiera responder, se escucharon pasos apresurados bajando las escaleras del jardín.

—¡Padawan, no se mueva!

Akemi no sabía para quién de los dos fue esa orden. Era la maestra Vernestra. Con eso, la joven se resigno a que estaría en graves problemas. De un momento a otro, sus piernas perdieron fuerza y su respiración se sentía cada vez más pesada. Lo último que recuerda es que cayó al suelo, mientras el padawan la miraba con intensidad.

—Hasta que no encontremos el origen y la manera de controlar esa habilidad, no tendrás un maestro asignado.

Esas palabras le rompieron el corazón y confianza que tenía en sí misma. Lo único que deseaba era tener un maestro y ser guiada como todos los padawans antes de convertirse en Caballeros Jedi. Cuando la reunión terminó, salió corriendo al único lugar donde se sentía segura, su habitación. Se encerró y tan pronto como lo hizo, empezó a llorar de forma descontrolada, si alguien más la hubiera visto así, pensarían que se estaba volviendo loca.

No le importó que fuera de madrugada y otros padawans lograban oír su llanto del otro lado de las pareces. Necesitaba desahogarse.

Estuvo así por lo que pareció una eternidad. Ya solo estaba ella, pareciendo un bulto tembloroso, tumbada en su cama mirando la pared, abrazando sus piernas contra su pecho.

—¿Ya estás mejor?

El corazón casi sale de su pecho y su cuerpo salió disparado de la cama para ponerse de piel, tanto que se sintió mareada. Encendió la luz con la fuerza y se quedó fría.

El padawan de hace dos días estaba ahí.

—¿Qué haces aquí? ¿Cómo entraste? —pregunto Akemi con los ojos muy abiertos por la sorpresa.

—Quería saber cómo estabas —respondió el joven—. Deberías tener más cuidado con tú habitación, ¿siempre la dejas abierta?

Akemi estaba avergonzada por su descuido. Siempre cerraba su habitación con código, pero su mente se sentía como una laguna por los acontecimientos recientes. El joven le dio una sonrisa rápida al notar que Akemi no estaba del todo con los pies en la tierra.

—Soy Qimir, padawan de la maestra Vernestra —se presentó.

No esperó a que la joven le extendiera la mano, Qimir la tomó y estrechó con tanto ánimo que sin querer la apretó demasiado.

—Y bien ¿Cómo estás? —preguntó mientras sonreía. Ese detalle terminó de irritar a la joven.

—¿Cómo estoy? Pues ¡¿tú cómo crees que voy a estar?! Me acaban de decir que no tendré un maestro y todo por culpa de una habilidad que ni siquiera sabía que tenía.

No supo en qué momento tomó su almohada y la lanzó del otro lado de la habitación. Qimir esquivó el objeto y eso lo hizo sonreír aún más.

—Bueno, es una lástima —dijo Qimir mientras se acercó a ella para acomodar uno de sus mechones de cabello detrás de la oreja—. Toda habilidad tiene un por qué y debe ser apreciada y perfeccionada.

—El consejo no lo ve así —respondió Akemi apartando la mirada—. Estaré desamparada hasta que busquen su origen y manera de controlarlo.

—Pero… podrías practicar.

—No puedo hacerlo, debo mantener esto oculto, no quiero ocasionar otro desastre.

Akemi se recostó en su cama hasta tener la espalda recargada contra la pared. Qimir solo se sentó en el borde

his room is very clean, and he has many figurines around the shelves and desk. there's one in particular that doesn't fit the "vibe", and it's a dinosaur plushie. it belonged to his younger brother who passed when J.J was 15 and his brother was around 12-15. everything that belonged to him was sent to charity or to the basement, except for that dinosaur

Mas lá estava ele, gargalhando maniacamente enquanto derrubava uma, duas, três cobras várias vezes maiores que ele, tudo com o poder de seus tentáculos que funcionavam como braços extras. Asura ria, ria enlouquecido, mas no momento não estava acalorado o bastante, ainda conseguia discernir aliado de inimigo.

Assim que a batalha acabou, Asura observou finalmente ao seu redor. Só então reparou que, em meio a tudo, alguém de fora havia ficado e observado. Talvez sem medo do perigo. Provavelmente era isso.
