I've mostly had my head in FFXIV for the last few months, and the combo of Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian Season 2 still have me in a "Star Wars and I are seeing other people right now" mood. I've been logging in to catch SWtOR story content when it drops, though. I just played through story mode Secrets of the Enclave. Thoughts under the RM. 

For most people, this probably will be a perfectly pleasant update leading to a presumed future expansion where we resolve the issue with Undead Malgus. Unfortunately I read Deceived, the terrible tie-in novel that explains the cinematic with the same title and some background info on said Malgus.  It features the first appearance of Terrible Jedi Aryn Leneer and the family she mentions, retired Havoc Squad operative Zeerid “Z” Korr and his daughter Arra.  I liveblogged it here back in the day, so check out this tag if you are entertained by snarky hate-reading.

Pretty much, just imagine Ellekai cold-reading Aryn, and the dialog in story mode all consisting of tense-to-borderline-hostile dialectic, and you’ve got a fair idea of what was happening in my head.

Aryn: “A lot of awful, painful things happened here, including the Council wiping the memories of people who left the Order.”

Ellekai: “It’s pertinent to mention that that procedure wasn’t routine protocol for all people who chose to exit the Order. It was deployed once ever, on a Super War Criminal presently leading a catastrophically bloody, destructive offensive against the Republic, as a last-ditch alternative to execution. It was attempted or proposed twice more, on another Super War Criminal- you know I’ve talked to both of them, right? -and a suspected mass-murderer of children respectively.  Specificity matters.”

Aryn: “Malgus went this way”

Ellekai: “How do you know?”

Aryn: “Because I’m a Force-Empath and you’re not”

Ellekai:

Aryn:

Ellekai: *a solid two minutes of ugly, barking laughter*

Aryn: “So if we find Malgus down here, I’m gonna kill him. Heh, I maybe should have mentioned that before, I guess.”

Ellekai: ...

Ellekai: “25 years, a job change, and nothing’s changed for you, has it? You haven’t learned. You’re still weaponizing other people’s good will, without their informed consent, for emotionally-incontinent, selfish, vengeful ends. You may think you loved Master Zallow, but you never listened to him.”

...

On the debrief, one of the other masters, via SpaceZoom: “In the interest of operational security, we should pause while non-members of the Jedi Order exit the conversation.”

Arn: *bows up*

Ellekai: “Due respect, Master Jedi, the issue is not that Leneer is a former Jedi, it’s that she’s a violent idiot. Specificity matters.”

Up next in porting half my friends’ OCs to FE:

The Massani clan do not possess the holdings that would make them nobility, nor do they seem to want them, but they are held in deep respect by the kingdom regardless. This is in part due to the number of learned sages and strong fighters and strategists counted among their number, who have proved helpful time and again, but also due to the clan’s storied descent from the divine dragons of ancient times. While that descent is well known, and rumors of those who can take dragon’s form never subside, none of those rumors have been substantiated in recent memory… not until very, very recently, anyway.

Nauri is a seasoned defender of the throne, a serious and deadly swordswoman with a not-so-hidden soft spot for humor. She is both the second Massani clan member and the second Myrmidon that the player can recruit; she’s got a lower defense than Michaeli, your first Myrmidon option, but a higher speed, and both have solid stats overall so it’s really a matter of playstyle which to field (if you even opt to choose.)

Nauri’s reclass options are Thief, Archer, and Cavalier (sword).

Ellekai is the confirmation of all the rumors. Early in the game, she appears in advisory role as a hooded NPC; she is both wise and very, very opinionated. Later on, once the plot has progressed and the true stakes have been made clear, her status as a Manakete is revealed, and she can be recruited by the player. Her statline is conducive to “turns into an actual dragon”, like you’d expect; she’s pretty darn useful on all maps that don’t contain too many thunder mages.

Ellekai’s reclass options are Mage, Wyvern Rider, and Dancer. Notably, if reclassed to Dancer, she has a custom model; being most comfortable when wrapped in several layers of clothing, she retains as many as she can without sacrificing freedom of movement.

Udesla is the first member of the clan you can recruit. As one of the younger members of the clan, she brings a lot of youthful enthusiasm to her military service, but also shows the potential to become an officer of the highest caliber. As a Soldier with an above average speed stat, she brings good survivability to early maps while retaining a better movement range than any of the more heavily armored classes, and if promoted to Halberdier that speed stat becomes pretty much hilarious since she can potentially trigger the Impale skill twice in a single round.

Udesla’s reclass options are Mercenary, Armor Knight (lance), and Pegasus Knight. Her magic stat is not going to be great no matter what you do about it, but a case can be made for reclassing her then promoting her to Dark Flier anyway, simply because catapulting her across the map with Galeforce is really, really funny.

Ooooh this is an interesting set of people!

Fake date: Ellekai - because while I really love her I suspect my emotional states would not be too great for her to deal with and her style might wind up putting my back up. That said I bet we’d hang out as pals and it’d be great and that when it came time to fake date we’d seem like a Judgey Nerd Couple! (Also, imagining how Ellekai would fake date gives me giggle fits.)

Enemies-to-lovers: I have a hard time imagining Gentian as an enemy really so what I’m imagining here is “we start on different factions and and then we’re on the same side and we have to work together and then we start realizing “oh no they’re hot” “oh no I like them” “oh shit have we started off on the wrong foot it’ll never work” etc” and I’m just here for it.

Slow-burn: LF! It would involve a lot of working on developing a relationship where it isn’t my one-sided awe of him and when I’m doing something notable and worthy that puts me on an equal level, and that might take literal years and prove the “slow” in the name but the payoff would be so worth it!

Ellekai Chsea She was forced to grow up too fast. Nothing in her life was "fair". Constantly she thinks "maybe if I had just..." but there's no point, she can't change what's in the past. She's quiet at first, and you don't know what to think of her. A different kind of beauty. She'll break your heart into millions of pieces but you'll still find a way to forgive her somehow. You just can't help but love her.
