— a/n: somebody got into loki again (me) and it’s been a while since i’ve written a marvel au (like probably 6 years ago HELP) and just for some backstory, my writer buddy (@yourstrulyksm) got me into this because she wanted me to write a christmas special but uh, the idea came in late……. and also, brainrot for loki……….. so here’s a short, teeny tiny winter special to end the year with! let’s welcome 2024 with a warm embrace (and perhaps a kiss…? maybe ship yourself with the upcoming year??? i’m def going insane)

“are you alright?”

oh, you were pissed off, and not in a healthy amount. you were unhealthily pissed off. him asking you that question while you both stood in the middle of the wilderness clearly was not a great way to have a brand new conversation that opened with him doubting your mental state in some way. a loose nightdress was the only thing keeping you warm and as much as it looked so good on you, you were now beginning to hate it with all of your soul. 

that and the god who dragged you out of your home to fulfill a mission, loki.

“it’s almost twelve o'clock and you’re expecting me to be okay out here, in the cold, outside of my damn apartment, dressed in this sleeveless, thin cotton dress– are you that dense!?” anger was just inching closer with each second that passed as the god looked you from top to bottom, keeping his lower lip under his front teeth as he tilted his head.

‘right, he was a front giant. i forgot,’ you thought, huffing as you crossed your arms in both the burning annoyance and in the cold. to your surprise, that ticking bomb inside your head wasn’t really going to do much to keep you warm. 

“why didn’t you bring a jacket, then?” he questioned again. “you showed up at my doorstep panicking! i didn’t have time to get one!” you complained.

and then, there was silence, a moment of clarity which was later interrupted by the god once again. this time, he laughed, shaking his head at the supposed funny moment that took place earlier. “... oh, my friend, i do apologize–”

“you should,” you quickly snapped back, walking next to him as you followed his directions as if you weren’t familiar with the location. “now, i’m freezing like shit here– what are you doing?”

without thinking twice, the thick, dark blazer he wore was slipping off of his shoulders and arms as he gave you a state, later offering it to you by nudging your arm with his knuckles. “come on, wear it. the cold never bothered me anyway,” he said, both of his eyebrows raised as his eyes glimmered, hoping that you’d just take the blazer from him.

“... thanks a lot, elsa.” you still spoke in that grumbling tone you always had when it came to him but deep down, it was all for the humor… and the never-ending stage of denial.

it’s been a while since those feelings for him bloomed like a flower on a spring’s day.

and now, you’re stuck with him like a pine tree on a winter’s night. “what are you even doing here? didn’t you tell me that we’re just supposed to see each other throughout time like… periodical visits?” you questioned, still wondering why he was now standing next to you. 

although he and mobius did need the help of a licensed historian, it was clear that you weren’t like the two of them. you had an entirely different role and just like what they both would say, you should play your role in the timeline. 

“why? isn’t this just like one of those periodical visits as well?” his shoulders slowly rose throughout the question as you sighed. 

3 days ago. it’s been 3 days since loki and mobius left…  and now, one of them is back again and it didn’t seem like he’s in trouble as you assumed.

“yeah, but like, i thought you’d come see me a few months after the last visit,” you muttered, taking steps with him slower this time, clearly diving deep into the talk. “you know? like the last time… for you, only a week passed but for me, it took six and a half months. is there another problem we have to fix or is this gonna be your thing?”

in return, he chuckled and asked back, “can’t i just pay my favourite historian a visit?”

“... but i’m the only historian you know–” “shut up.”

though it sounded bitter, both of you still smiled over the friendly banter and somehow, it was nice to know that loki traveled through time again just to meet up with you.

as a busy historian constantly checking if the two tva employees or sylvie herself made any of those rewrites in the many pages of history, you never really had a chance to go out with friends… you weren’t even sure if you still had contact with those old friends of yours.

in some way, you were lonely. 

you’d never admit it to yourself or to anyone around you but it was undeniable that you still were. “so, what you’re telling me is that you probably got bored and thought to yourself that you should seek me out just so you could take me here in the middle of the night? for fun? is this your brilliant idea of fun?” you questioned, syncing your pace with him as leaves and snow rustled beneath your boots. 

again, he chuckled. “well… it’s not exactly boredom,” the god answered, taking a deep breath right after. “... i did have plans to see you tonight.”

‘... what?’ that one word danced around your mind in circles because not once did you think of that possibility.

he just said he wanted to see you exactly tonight, how could that happen?

“and it’s getting late, i know. i’m sorry for dragging you out here but this one…” he trailed off, taking another deep breath as he suddenly stopped walking… and of course you did the same, choosing to face the trees instead of him. 

“this one’s important.”

then, he raised his hand mid-air, just above his own shoulder as his fingers fluttered, emitting vibrant sparks in every color you could think of. he had a genuine smile on his face, his emerald eyes staring back at you while you focused on how the sparks flew and twirled around his palm. once you looked at him, you held in your breath, absolutely overwhelmed by the situation. “... loki.”

“i’m in love with you,” he said softly, his eyes turning glossy, admitting to it all wholeheartedly. no more secrets now. “and it’s killing me to keep these words to myself for longer so nothing’s stopping me from saying them now. i am so in love with you, y/n… i can’t imagine not seeing you every single minute.”

with the sparks from his own palm flying into the air, syncing with the fireworks that blasted into the dawn skies, he pulled you close, the lips you’ve dreamed of every night brushing against yours soothingly as you started forgetting about how cold it was… the kiss he was giving you was enough to keep you warm.

even too warm, perhaps…

“whoa– hey, wait a second.” you pulled away from him, your palms touching his chest, grazing a little bit against the fabric of his ironed as if it was to restrict you from letting the kiss get deeper than expected. “... we just kissed? is this for real? or are you enchanting me? loki, i swear–,” you were then cut-off by quick peck on your cheek, his hands touching the back of yours so delicately as he looked at you with relief, shaking his head.

“this is for real, trust me.” he smirked, smothering his lips against yours once again as your eyelids closed shut, indulging everything he’s been giving you right at that moment.

well, isn’t this such a great way to start the year?

I hate F2 with burning passion and I want the next movie to retcon it as much as possible. All these Elsa-is-now-a-homeless-white-Pocahontas-2.0 fangirls can suck it up. Now that Lee is out of picture we can finally get a good sequel (let me dream pls). And Elsa has already been ruined as a character in F2. Like, comletely ruined. Totally OOC. Which means it can't get any worse and the only way is up.

Honestly, I used to be someone who didn't understand the big deal people made out of bad sequels in their franchise, but F2 made me understand... boy, did it make me understand.

I can't help but feel the people who are scared of F3 retconning F2 are only scared because even they know F2 retconned the hell out of F1 (wheter they're willing to admit it or not), so they're aware it's a thing this franchise loves doing and they're scared of ending up like us F1 fans.

On the one hand I understand the fear, because I've lived it, but on the other hand, after years and years of being told I'm "overreacting", because "F2 isn't that bad" or "you shouldn't let a bad sequel ruin a franchise for you" (or even "the writers know best" like writers can't make bad decisions!?) ect. And now suddenly they're acting like, yes, a sequel can in fact ruin things.

If this isn't the wake up call these people need to understand how F2 made F1 fans feel (or in general fans of a franchise with a bad/retcon sequel) then I don't know what will.

Apperently Jen Lee is still involved with F3, just not on a director level, more on a consultant level, so I do am still worried (it's been confirmed that whatever F3's plot is, she approved it). I really don't know what to expect of F3, but I'm trying so hard to keep hope that it might fix this franchise.

I guess only time will tell, but either way I will keep fighting for F1 and the importance of returning this franchise back to it's core of Anna and Elsa TOGETHER (the actual definition of this word, not the bullshit definition F2 came up with).

Aina (short pencil) is yet-to-be-named (tall pencil)'s younger sister. She is cool and nice— she like listening to pop. Now I headcanoned the pencils to have long and sharp nails but if it got shortened, they will go see pencil sharpeners 😌

Danuja (ruler) is the leader of le group. I got him as a Christmas gift btw. He is a smart and thoughtful person, and because of that, he and Hinoku sometimes fight to see who is the smartest in the group 👀💦. He likes winter and the cold (NO MORE ELSA).

Akira (Correction Pen) is... a guy. He likes to go shopping and girl stuffs. He also enjoy people get trolled by his appearance and voice. He can play the electric guitar and piano but he kept it quiet.

Mikoto (Multi-colors pen or whatever it is) is a professional artist in her school. She has a beautiful brownish-skin but she never admit it. She is very kind and willing to help people-in-need. Despite all of this traits, deep down inside Mikoto, are insecurities.. She is a heterochromia (two eye colors), one is light brown and other is dark brown. I think she likes bear and baked-goods.

Yuna (Blue rabbit eraser or smth..) is Shou's younger sister. She is incredibly shy and is sensitive to sounds. She doesn't speak often because she thinks that people would judge her by how she speaks. Yuna is easy to get bullied (poor girl) so she gets regular checkups from Shou (your brother is going to yeet those people)

Both of you, hosting two different streams, were playing Suika to see who could get to 3000 points first.

Spring onions

It was quite a busy day for your dearest, today. He had called you today during lunch to tell you that he had been assigned quite an extravagant mission today, hence, he might come home later than usual. You had rushed home after your shift had ended to cook him a lovely dinner. You had been experimenting in the kitchen lately. You were tired of ordering takeout, but seeing how Akutagawa was almost always busy, he could not take over cooking duty. It was up to you to make your meals healthy, and you were going to ensure that both of you got the right amount of nutrition for a healthy body.

“Spring onions? We don’t have those!”

You rushed to the fridge, rummaging through the drawers in search of the leafy green. The vegetable drawer was filled all sorts of exotic stuff, save for spring onions.

Sighing, you close the fridge, bunching up your hair with your fingers.

“It’s Chinese food we’re talking about here, of course, we need spring onion. God, I’m so dumb!”

Akutagawa loved Manchurian. You had intended to cook some of that tasty dish and toss up some fried rice to go along with it. But you cannot do any of that without bloody onions.

You defeatedly picked up the paper menu of the Chinese restaurant that delivered to your address and placed your order. Sighing, you flopped yourself on the sofa, reaching for the tv remote and randomly tuning into a channel.

“What do we do now, chef?”, a sweet voice echoed from the screen. A man wearing one of those crazy chef hats grinned at the camera and held up an egg.

“Now, we add the eggs! Then we beat the batter properly. That way, our cake will turn out soft and spongy!”

You sat up straight.

“Of course, cake!”

You could bake for your beloved! Rushing to the kitchen, you put on an apron and rustled about, searching for some flour and cocoa. Opening Pinterest on your phone, you searched for that chocolate chip cake recipe that you had pinned a few weeks ago.

Grinning at the pin, you got to work.

Akutagawa came home to the wonderful fragrance of vanilla and chocolate. He rushed to the kitchen to see you invert the cake onto a container.

“Wow.”, he said, eyes trailing over the golden-brown dessert.

“Welcome home!”, you said, holding up your mitten clad hands to wave at him.

He hurriedly changed into home clothes and rushed to the kitchen. He was so tired. All he wanted now, was a warm meal. You handed him a plate of the takeout you had ordered, ushering him towards the table that was set up with candles and a bowl full of delicious looking slices of your tea cake.

“You did all this, for me?”, he said, astonished and touched.

“Yup! I wanted to lighten up your mood. Also, considering today’s mission, I figured you would be beat, and some lovely cake would do the trick.”

He reached forward to gently grasp your palm in his. Kissing your knuckles, he thanked you.

You tried your best to prevent your face from turning a deep red hue.

“S-shut up, no need to thank me. When did you get so soft?”

“When I met my darling.”, he said, eyes trained on his meal, trying to avoid your gaze.

You giggled at his flirty words. Nobody had expected THE Akutagawa Ryuunosuke to be a hopeless romantic. He flirted with you 24/7. It was very entertaining to watch him say such sweet words, only to blush and hide his face behind a cough to avoid you because of how flustered he gets.

Placing a slice of the warm cake on his plate, you urged him to take a bite.

He bit into it and froze. You grinned, your eyes shining brightly.

“Is it that good? Good enough to make you pause??”

He chewed slowly, smiling ever so slightly.

“Yay! Here, have some more!”

You were about to place another slice onto his plate when he stopped you.

“What’s wrong?”

"I love you a lot, but please stop trying to cook me dinner, you suck.”

You blinked at him, trying to understand.

Sighing, he held your hand, giving you a pitiful look.

“You’ve been trying so hard to cook some healthy food for me, I love you for that. Its just that, cooking isn’t quite for you.”

“Hah?! Everything I’ve made so far was fabulous!”

“You burnt the chicken.”

“That was an accident!”

“The soup tasted like tar.”

“I added a wrong powder, how could I have known?!”

“The omelette was undercooked and overcooked at the same time. How did you even manage that?”

“That’s the pan’s fault! It isn’t non-stick, so the underside got burnt, but the top layers weren’t cooked and- ”

“The cake doesn’t have sugar.”

“Bullshit. I remember adding it!”

He sighed, offering you a slice.

“Here, see for yourself.”

You huffed, biting off a large chunk, only to spit it out.

“Blegh! That’s horrible!”

He rubbed circles on your back comfortingly.

“There, there.”

You glared down at the cake.

“But I remember adding sugar...”

He chuckled, patting your head.

“You remember adding a white powder. It probably wasn’t sugar.”

You gasped.

“I added salt!”

He nodded solemnly.

He hugged you, pecking your forehead.

“Hey, it’s the effort that counts!”

You snuggled into his chest, gazing at his jet-black hair. The icy white tips looked so elegant. They kind of reminded you of Elsa. Also, flour. Now that you think about it, he was just like the cake. Super salty, but soft hearted.

“I love you, frosty.”

He snickered.

“Frosty?”

“Yeah. Your hair looks so beautiful, especially the white ends. Besides, you’re always freezing cold. So, Frosty.”

You smile up at him innocently.

He sighed, kissing your nose.

“Do you remember that time you had tried eating cupcakes and that little boy ran into you? The frosting was all over your face! You looked so adorable.”

He grumbled, “Why must you remember that?”

“Because it makes you even more of a Frosty!”

“Sh-shut up.”

“But it’s true! I’m going to text Gin about this. We should all call you frosty!”

“Don’t you dare!”
