I've been reading too many books about elves where everyone of every gender is dripping in jewels and silks. I had to crack with the art eventually...

✧ Check this polymer clay necklace on my Kofi shop: it's a one of a kind piece sculpted in polymer clay, resin and metal. The main inspiration for this piece comes from fae courts, elven designs and fairies. It's a perfect piece for any elf, fae or magical creature out there ✨

Does anyone know of any cool winter fashion videos/lookbooks on YouTube? I'm a fan of Jfashion or fantasy vibes.

ELVEN DRESS: LABOR WEAR
Written by: Florence vixen
Underwear is gender neutral for the most part. Cotton undershorts are worn by everyone. Linen undershirts are used to line the outfit and wick up moisture. These are always short sleeved. A laie (1) supports the back. Depending on body shape and size the corset can cover the chest. Underwear can be as decorated or as discreet as the owner wishes.
Overwear usually consists of a plain shirt and pants combo. The shirt can be long or short sleeved depending on the weather. It is usually an earthy tone with a bit of embroidery at the collar. It fits loosely around the chest but is more fitted every where else. Pants are in earthy tone with no decoration. Both can match in color but it’s considered unnecessary. The pants also fit loosely but don’t bulge out. Pants can be exchanged for knee length shorts depending on the weather. A jacket can be worn in winter but legs are left as they are for freedom of movement. Sturdy ankle boots would be worn.
Hair is covered in a linen cloth to wick moisture and protect from heat. The cloth is called a wrap . There are many ways to wear the cloth and the style is usually up to personal choice. Long hair is plaited and pinned into a bun. The wrap would be pinned into place. For shorter hair it would be wrapped as it was and tied at the nape of the neck.
This is worn by the untitled classes and nobles rarely don it. It is used for gardening or other manual labor which in titled homes is done primarily by gnomes. It is considered the least formal wear even for form (2) clothing and is only worn when around family. Wearing it in public or when guests visit is considered rude.

Elven Dress: loungewear and sleepwear
Written by: Florence vixen
Traditionally there was no distinction between loungewear and sleepwear. A person would merely change into a near identical outfit for bed. Recent trends have transformed sleepwear into something completely unrecognizable.
Loungewear is a very vague term. The outer garments can be practically anything from robes, to shifts, to dresses. Undergarments are one of the only consistencies. Men wear simple cotton undershorts. Women will wear either a pair of combinations or a shift. Both of these garments can be as lacy or simple as the wearer wants. A laie (1) may be worn for certain activities such as letter writing but goes generally unused.
Younger men generally go around in loose clothes. They wore linen undershirts and pants. The pants are heavily embroidered. Some men prefer to go without pants and wear on their undershorts. They may wear a robe over this when the weather gets cold. Older men generally wear a long robe. Robes have three highly decorated ties braided together. These ties can be separated to hitch up the sleeves.
Women’s wear is incredibly diverse. Many choose to keep their shift as their only layer. Others wear looses gowns in multiple different styles. These are meant to emanate softness, gentle and full in their design. Embroidery is extremely prevalent especially around the bust area. Women may also wear a light colored shirt and pair of pants. These are as full as men’s wear and as elaborately decorated as the dresses. Robes may be worn over all clothing when cold. Older women prefer robes as overwear in any weather.
In recent years, sleepwear trends have changed. Shifts have been abandoned, but undergarments stay relatively the same. Outerwear has morphed from elegant practicality to utter ridiculousnesses. The youth now sleep in garments that emulate different animals. These can be compared to the human garment onesies. Even the youth in titled households have adopted this crude trend.
Loungewear is worn on leisure days at home. The only people unrelated to a person that will see them in this dress are extremely close friends. Leisurewear is entirely modeled after functionality and freedom of movement. Domestic tasks like cooking are easily accomplished. This is considered mid level formality for form (2) dress.
1 a garment that provides back support
2 a type of dress which seeks to at most softly emphasize the body
