Balance

Danny didn't hate the Justice League for never showing up to deal with the world ending things he dealt with. He's not been upset with them over this since he learned about overshadowing being a thing.

That is, he wasn't upset with them. Until he met Dan. Dan who had killed the Justice League. Dan who had destroyed the world. Dan who had told him about Justice League Dark. The secret magic division of the Justice League that apparently could have dealt with the bs Amity Park has been through since the portal opened.

They had the resources to avoid being overshadowed and they were, even just one of them, powerful enough to have taken down Fright Knight or Vlad or Pariah Dark. Instead they'd marked Amity a "no fly zone" and promptly ignored the town. Their reason? Danny was already taking care of it.

So years later, he's King of the Infinite Realms and being summoned by the Justice League. (in all his kingly regalia of course) He's being rather belligerent whenever one of the magic members start talking, but is rather friendly towards the others. When asked why he mentions Amity Park.

The JLD's reply? The Embodiment lord of Balance is taking care of that place.

Guardian Deity Spirit Danny

"In the spiritual realm, there are specific steps a being can take to ascend to the status of a god, with certain restrictions defining what a god truly is. Typically, a deity emerges as a result of being worshipped by a group of people, their worship infusing them with divine energy and granting them godhood.

They can be born from an unconscious belief or concept, such as the worship of the moon or nature. Over time, this belief gains sentience and power through the devotion of their followers.

They possess spiritual powers and establish a cult, amassing considerable influence and strength.

They are born from another god.

They achieve godhood by defeating and absorbing the essence of a pre-existing god, embodying their concept.

This means that even if a being is incredibly powerful, like Clockwork, they must be worshipped by someone to attain godhood. So...

In the Infinite Realms, time operates differently than in the outside world. I believe that since the Realms exist beyond space and existence, serving as the cosmic glue holding the multiverse together, they remain separate from the flow of time.

So, my idea is this: Danny is already immensely powerful, as he embodies the balance between life and death. Because of his connection to Clockwork, this being occasionally sends him on time-traveling missions, perhaps for preparations related to kingship. As a result, he appears in various places throughout history, safeguarding people and cultures. Over the centuries and millennia, people begin to worship him, seeking blessings and offering sacrifices.

Usually, this would lead the Justice League to believe that he's simply a very old being. However, what if he truly is ancient?

As I mentioned earlier, a god's powers are derived from belief, and this belief gradually transforms the deity. Here's my take:

Batman might insist, "I know you're Danny Fenton," until a summons or a crisis causes Danny's godly side to surface. This aspect of him is truly ancient, as time doesn't flow conventionally in the Infinite Realms. Consequently, Danny could be three years old in terms of his death, yet also an ancient entity. Nonetheless, he remains physically too young to fully comprehend his true power and existence, resulting in considerable confusion.

Ultimately, there are two interpretations:

The Justice League ends up believing that Danny is either a) a vessel for a god, b) a sort of priest, or c) the physical incarnation of a bored god curious about experiencing humanity.

Ghosts do not treat him like a typical ghost child because, due to the nonlinear nature of time in the Zone, his core possesses the essence of an ancient being. The ghosts perceive him as the rebirth of balance, incarnated as a human to restore equilibrium.

Feel free to use this concept for any story or interpretation you find compelling."

So this started with a headcannon:

Anything can become a god with enough time and power. Humans r the rarest gods bc they don’t life long enough. Most ghost can’t bc of their obsessions. A ghost can only draw power from their obsession so the less specific their obsession is the more likely they will become a god. Like clockwork is the god of time bc his obsession with time is broad, allowing him to gain much more power than someone with a more narrow obsession like say box ghost

Halfas however r pretty much guaranteed to become gods. They r alive enough to have changing obsessions and gather power in other ways but dead enough to life much longer than humans.

So that brings the question of what god Danny would be. This line of thinking gave me a cool idea.

Danny would be a protection god and a death god. There is other death gods but non like Danny. There r many gods that r gods of different things but non like Danny. Danny is the first that is a god of juxtaposing things. Protection is inherently preserving life. Death is distorting life. These factors make him a being of balance. He is the embodiment of ‘necessary evil’ or ‘doing bad things for good reasons’.

People that fall into these ‘morally grey’ parts of life become his subjects. As his subjects they r under his protection and when the day comes he will be the one to great them in death.

He has been this for a long time, watching over his people but unable to interfere as is the nature of a god. That is until Jason Todd comes along.

As a man that has been touched by death and now lives to protect Jason is closer to Danny that any of his subjects before. This always Danny to speak with him, to guild him and to protect him. For a long time Jason didn’t even know about this. His only interactions with Danny had been threw dreams or soft words in the back of his mind when the pit got to loud. He thought it was either just the pit or his brain trying to coup with what he has been threw.

Then in a mission one day he has to work with the JLD. This is his first time working with them and upon meeting him they r all rather jumpy. He thinks this is bc of his ‘reputation’ and just decided to let it go. However as things get more and more desperate and they start realising this threat is not something they can deal with alone John turns to Jason and goes:

“Alright, time to call in ur Eldritch sugar daddy.”

Surprise husbands + "How are you real?" ; requested by @vehan-tikkun-olam-and-stuff!

They may not have planned to get married, or even wanted it all too much at the beginning, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to treat each other right. It was rough going, with both of them coming out of relationships and having secret identities, but time had softened the hurt feelings and allowed them to actually get to know each other.

And Danny, Duke has discovered, is a really good husband. 

Neither of them ever saw themselves as married at 20, but sometimes life throws horrible curses at you and the embodiment of balance and life and death swoops in to save your life. Via marriage. 

His life is weird, okay? Duke has made his peace with it.

The thing is, if they had met naturally and started off as friends, Duke could see himself falling for Danny and asking him to marry him in a far off future. Instead, they’re doing everything backwards: married, then going on dates to know each other, and finally feeling close enough to be friends. 

It helps that Danny does his best to communicate and that helps Duke find the words he needs as well. 

He’s sweet, too, so kind and doting and affectionate. Like a really lovable cat, honestly. Duke’s never been cuddled so much in his life and he’s loving every minute of it. 

He… might be falling in love with his husband. What a revelation.

“Duke?” 

He blinks, looking up from his half-empty plate, pulled out of his thoughts suddenly. Tim and Dick stare at him, concerned, and he realizes he’s missed the entire conversation because he was so preoccupied thinking about Danny. In his defense, it was their one year anniversary the night before and Danny had kissed him for the first time after a date night spent playing video games and talking shit about their respective rogues. 

Tim snaps a finger in front of his face, and Duke startles. He got distracted by his Danny Thoughts again.

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“You okay? You’ve been out of it all day,” Dick says, clearly concerned.

“Oh, uh, yeah, it’s all good. Just… adjusting.”

“To what? Did something happen?”

Duke shrugs, scooping up another forkful of pasta to shove in his mouth. “Yeah, I… this is going to sound kind of stupid, but I think I’m in love with my husband.”

Tim, taking an ill-timed drink, chokes and spits out his Zesti. Dick springs back, trying to get out of the spray zone but doesn’t move far, shocked still by Duke’s words.

“Oh, yeah,” Duke realizes, “I didn’t tell you guys, did I?”

“You’re married?!” Tim shrieks as Dick clutches at his chest, eyes wide.

“You didn’t tell me?” Dick asks, offended.

“Seriously? That’s what you focus on?”

Duke smiles as they begin to bicker. They do it constantly, but this time it’s halfhearted, as if they’re just going through the motions of something familiar to distract themselves from the bomb he’s dropped on them.

In all fairness, Duke did forget that he didn’t tell them that he’s married to Danny. He’s also only mentioned Danny once or twice and heavily implied that Danny was just a classmate at GCU. And then forgot that he didn’t tell them, assuming that they’d figure it out eventually being Batman trained detectives, after all.

Well. 

Oops.

Clearly that is not the case. Duke hurries to finish his pasta before Tim and Dick finish their joint freak out and get their senses back together enough to interrogate him. He can’t escape it, but he refuses to have this discussion with an empty stomach. 

He just barely manages to scrape the last mouthful off the plate when his fork is being yanked out of his hands. Tim and Dick close in on him, standing to either side of him, trapping him in place, and look at him with knife-sharp smiles.

Here we go, Duke thinks tiredly, and resigns himself to clearing up this misunderstanding.

Somehow, he manages to explain the situation (I got cursed, he saved my life, we ended up married because magic is bullshit, he treats me so well) and Tim and Dick both agree to not hunt down Danny to show him the wrath of older brothers on one condition: Danny has to join them for a family dinner.

“Don’t worry, we’ll catch everyone up on your… situation,” Dick says, pulling on his jacket to head out. Tim is already on his phone, no doubt telling someone already. 

“Great,” Duke says, unenthused. “You’ll also be answering all the questions because I’m not in the mood. So if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to figure out a day that works for all of us, and then I’m going to kick my husband’s ass in Mario Cart.”

He walks out the door, grinning as he hears them scramble after him, then twists the ring on his finger (not a wedding ring, but a magic portal making gift) and steps into the portal. It closes quietly behind him, leaving him in Danny’s lair, a comfortable, spacious house with high ceilings and little bits of his personality scattered about. There are soft rugs with geometric patterns on them, star maps on the wall, stained glass windows that throw colors across the floor, and a giant couch and pillow pit in the living room.

Danny’s asleep in it, curled up and looking completely at peace. Duke toes off his shoes and carefully makes his way over, footsteps silent so he doesn’t wake him up, all plans of Mario Cart fading away instantly.

Danny doesn’t get much sleep, with the stress of school and an internship and ghost fights to worry about. It’s why his lair is so quiet and comfortable; it’s what he needs, and he doesn’t let anyone else in without invitation, rare as it is.

Duke is allowed to waltz right in thanks to the ring Danny gave him. It never stops making him feel overwhelmed by how much trust Danny puts in him to allow him unlimited access to what is his only true sanctuary, letting his lair be a place of safety and respite for Duke as well. 

He crawls into the pillow pit, There’s no way to do this without waking Danny up since he can’t fly, so he isn’t surprised to see Danny blink his eyes open, still looking soft and content. He smiles when he sees Duke, reaching a hand out to him that Duke gladly takes, bringing it up to his mouth to kiss his palm.

Sitting up, Danny tilts his head up in a silent request. Duke happily obliges, still reeling over the fact that he’s allowed to do this! He can kiss his husband whenever he wants! 

Yeah, he’s going to be riding that high for a while.

“Hey,” Danny murmurs, sleepy and quietly pleased to see him.

“Hi honey,” Duke returns fondly, “Have a nice nap?”

Danny nods, leaning into Duke and closing his eyes again. “Mhm. How long are you staying? I wanna cuddle.”

“I got nothing going on today. I’m all yours, baby.”

“C’mon,” Danny tries to tug him down. Duke goes slowly, covering Danny’s body with his own, but holds himself with one hand before he blankets his husband completely.

“Wait. There’s something we need to talk about.”

Immediately, the sleepy haze is fading from Danny’s eyes, leaving him alert. “What’s up? Is something wrong?”

“Not really? You know how we agreed to keep our marriage a secret until we weren’t in danger anymore and all those cultists and sorcerers were taken care of?”

“...Yes?”

“Well.” Duke sucks in a breath and offers a bashful smile. “Guess who forgot to tell people we were married after that whole mess was dealt with?”

The nervousness clears from Danny’s gaze as he stares up at Duke with incredulous amusement. “No. No way.”

“Yeah. Kinda dropped a bomb on them and they started freaking out over me being married. Anyways, they want you to come to dinner?”

“When?”

Duke leans back, sitting on his heels. “Let me check.” He pulls out his phone and sends a quick text to the group chat asking for a day they could have a family meal to meet his husband.

His phone is bombarded with texts and calls immediately until Barbara, bless her entire soul, forcibly mutes all of them and puts in a poll with a few dates, setting the poll to close in 24 hours.

“Okay, well, they’re deciding now, but probably soon.”

Danny nods. “Alright. I know these aren’t normal circumstances at all, but I’m so excited to meet the Bats.”

“You do not mean that after hearing all my stories about them.”

“No, I do!” Danny laughs, surging up to wrap his arms around Duke and pull him back down to lay among the giant pillows with him. “They sound nice!”

“The Bats sound nice?!” Duke repeats in horror. “Did you hit your head?”

“They do sound nice! You talk about them so fondly, and yeah they have problems and are dysfunctional, but they’re heroes. Of course they have problems. Even with all their baggage, they’re kind. And you clearly love them, so I do too.”

It’s hard to resist the urge to hug Danny tight enough to make him squeak while peppering his face with kisses, so Duke doesn’t. He just goes and does it, because he’s allowed to shower his husband (!) with affection (!!!) as much as he pleases.

“How are you real?” he says against the corner of Danny’s lips. “How are you so perfect! To me specifically! Honey, if we weren’t already married, I’d be going down on one knee right now.”

“I mean, you still can. We never got a proper wedding either. Think if we offer them a chance to help plan our wedding, they’ll forgive us for secretly being married for so long?”

“Oh, absolutely,” Duke says. He’s already giddy, just imagining what their wedding will look like, what song they’ll play for their first dance, where they’ll have the ceremony… He should create a Pinterest account to start putting ideas together. 

Later, though. He wants to woo Danny properly and take him on so many dates.

Dates which include dinner with the Waynes and Wayne-adjacents, apparently.

“You sure you’re okay with meeting them over dinner?” he asks, just to be sure. He knows how intense they can be, even when pretending to be normal civilians. It took him years to get used to them, himself, and he doesn’t want to push Danny into doing something he’s not ready to do.

Danny cups Duke’s face in his hands and gives him a quick, reassuring kiss. “I’m sure. If nothing else, it’ll be fun to see how long it takes for them to realize I’m not fully human.”

“I really am glad it’s you.”

“Yeah, me too. I’d choose you all over again if given the choice.”

“Took the words right out of my mouth,” Duke laughs, wrapping an arm around Danny’s waist.

“Can we nap now? Now that you’re here and holding me, it’s taking everything I’ve got to stay awake.”

“Yeah, we can nap now.” Duke settles into the pillows, Danny cradled in his arms and closes his eyes to bask in the quiet easiness of it all. 

He really couldn’t ask for a better husband, unexpected as he was. The others will see that too, once they meet him. It’s impossible to not love Danny once you meet him; Duke knows this all too well.

He loves his husband.

And his husband loves him back.

Duke is fully prepared to keep making that choice for the rest of his life.

Sudden thought I had:

Phantom, after everything he did for Amity, now being an adult (I'm putting at 27 here) with the necessary emotional maturity to recognize that he doesn't owe them anything, seals the portal, places the entire frame in his lair for safekeeping, along with all the blueprints his parents had, and leaves to go explore the world, like his little girl likes to do so much (I'm a sucker for Danny adopting Ellie, and being very supportive of her while also being always ready to be summoned next to her and crack some skulls if needed).

While going through Paris, and finding a pair of teenage heroes, like he and Valerie had once been, Danny decided he can take a break from his travelling to helpd these baby heroes and give them the training and support they need.

They get along better than anyone expected. Danny is Life and Death, Balance personified. Who else would be better to teach the hosts of Creation and Destruction than the one who embodies both in perfect balance?

I'm envisioning Danny sits down to have a nice chat with the Guardian about getting the kids proper training, and he's not going anywhere. The kwami in the box swarm him because he feels like a spirit of incredible power, and really, what else would happen except Danny finding himself taking spiritual custody over two teenage heroes who are clearly way over their heads fighting literal adults.

Step number one: get legal custody of Adrien Agreste and get his father charged to the fullest extent of the law for being so negligent to his own son.

I'm seeing this going 2 ways:

Danny gets custody over Adrien, moves into an apartment next to the Dupain-Cheng bakery, and their place becomes Vigilante Central, with Phantom often watching over the kids as they go out at night, typically going invisible to not give away his presence.

Hawkmoth tries one last desperate move to get the Miraculous before the police come for him. He takes to the field...and is subsequently trounced by Phantom, who beats him into the ground for picking on a bunch of children instead of getting therapy.

Plucking the Miraculous and setting the kwami within free from the old man's control, certainly expedited the process of acquiring custody over Adrien, but it also sent the poor boy spiraling for a while.

Or 2:

Their entire issues are solved by Gabriel being unable to use his Miraculius, because prison doesn't really...allow...jewellery. Which means Hawkmoth no longer shows up. Until Natalie, ever loyal to her boss, picks up the Moth Miraculous and tries to make his dreams come true. Except Phanton is...a little more ready to throw hands, and by the gods she's going to catch them whether she wants to or not.

By the end of it, Danny just doesn't really go anywhere else. Just stays in France full-time to help raise these two reckless kids. And sure, Marinette has her own wonderful parents. Doesn't mean Adopted Cousin Fenton won't spoil her rotten and enable all her chaotic gremlin tendencies while also keeping her safe. Add Ellie into the mix, and Paris has never been more happy and yet annoyed by all these gremlin heroes running around, cracking the most awful jokes and keeping the city safe.

I actually really like the idea of option 2, not gonna lie. I like the slow, dawning realization some people might have, Adrien specifically, as they realize the possible reason for Hawkmoth's sudden disappearance. While I usually like public reveals for Danny, for Hawkmoth I actually prefer more low-key ones because I know people would probably blame or question Adrien for not knowing sooner. (Because let's face it, this is the same world that lets kids like Chloé get away with all sorts of stuff.) So I think if I ever wrote a fic following along with this kind of idea, I would actually go the route of #2.

There is only one true Halfa

Ok, hear me out on this. So Danny, Vlad and Dani are all considered Halfas which is understandable but if you think about it then it’s not actually true. Why?

Well Danny was the only one that actually died. He was electrocuted to death as the portal started and then a hole was ripped between two dimensions right on Danny or heck more like it was ripped open inside him. Flooding him with ectoplasm while he died. So his DNA merged with the energy of a whole dimension made of energy leaving Danny at a balance between the two dimensions. This also might be why Danny seems to never stop growing power wise. I mean he literally merged with a whole dimensions worth of energy. He is the embodiment of the balance between the two parallel dimensions. (I’d like to think that he is the only reason the portal opened as well for maybe there needed to be balance between life and death but hey. Also Danny may be able to open and close portals himself.)

Now Vlad was flooded with a large amount of ectoplasm but he wasn’t killed and his DNA never merge with the ectoplasm. So Vlad isn’t half dead but fully alive and maybe it’s like a symbiotic relationship between him and ectoplasm. As such Vlad dose not have a core or an obsession like ghosts and Danny. Though maybe the ectoplasm is trying to form an obsession at least. This is why that Vlad is only so powerful with his years of having his powers, sure he’s far more powerful than most ghosts but he also holds a small amount of the Dimensions very energy.

Then there is Dani, she’s an imperfect clone of Danny. And she was the only clone that survived out of the many Vlad tried to create. Vlad cannot replicate life and death at the same time nore can he forcefully merge Dani with the right amount of ectoplasm or the right kind. Danny is one of a kind, and his life long exposure to ectoplasm is probably the only reason he is what he is instead of a pile of ash but how could Vlad know that and how could he replicate it to the exact. Dani is basically more like Vlad, but maybe instead of a symbiotic relationship it’s more of a parasitic relationship between her and ectoplasm, she will die without it as it’s part of her but it also try’s to destroy her thus why she needs to be stabilized.

Okay, listen. I was just minding my own business and was reading a good fic (not DP unfortunately) and this come to my mind.

Hear me out!

Human Sacrifice

Danny died inside the portal actually cause him to be a human sacrifice for the Infinite Realm. So like the Zone needs some sort of sacrifice to keep it balanced but over time people who knows about the Realm or who left offering (you know like how people believe in small gods etc and left offering for them and the stuff? Yeah those things are what keeping the zone's balance).

But then some humans decide to disturb the already fragile balance that has been loosing it's hold after humans mostly stopped believing so much on the nature and the unseen. It was the first time human tempted to tear a hole through the dimension and now another hole is about to be made. (We all know who these humans are)

The Realm is already weak enough without the sacrifice and with its King gone mad long long time ago and is currently locked away, unless they found someone to replace the King and is compatible with the Realm. The next tear might cause the balance to finally tipped off and the barrier keeping both Realm separated would disappear. Causing chaos to break lose all over the dimensions.

But it seems the Balance itself won't take it and has already decide to take matter into their own hands.

A boy has died and survived the ceremony that day, making him the perfect embodiment of Balance as he is dead and part of the Realm with the ectoplasm inside him and yet alive for the living Realm still has its claim on him.

Alive yet dead.

The Balance has choose it's Host and champion.

The Human Sacrifice had been made.

I thought i wanna write some dp x hp au plots i have in head but then it change into dp fusion au where basically you can fuse with a halfa as long as they have the abilities to fuse their soul with you. For that you really needs a stable halfa as the base to hold the fusion soul and we basically know Danny is the only one real stable and balance halfa ™.

Danny find out this ability accidentally when he is in distressed and Jazz is comforting him by hugging him. Danny felt safe in her hold and he feels something warm in his core and BAM.

Sitting on Jazz's bed is a person. Uh. Not really one but still look humanoid enough. Both was shocked by it and panic for a bit.

Their fusion is pure protectiveness and one hell of a sibling. If this fusion meet Dani, let just say Dani will not be able to escape from their vision at all. Jazz and Danny's fusion is a mother hen. Mama bear dare i say. Intelligence and strength. A bit gooofy but more mature. That fusion may look calm but they literally are a chaos inside.

The fusion likes to cause some chaos a bit and have fun.

Danny did experiment with this fusion ability thing with a couple of others. For example :

5. Ghostwriter (surprisingly)

6. Pandora

7. Wulf

Let me tell you i am so excited when a thought of Clockwork and Danny's fusion came up. Like bam.

Time.

Space.

Imagine the pure power.

But then it can never rival up against infinite realm and Danny's fusion.

I love imagining a pure disaster and misery of a fusion where Danny's ghost half fuse with Danny's 'dead' human half. (I like to imagine that Danny's human half mever really dead but exist outside his timeline and always stick around Dan)

I am not going to call Dan as Danny's older future self. That one is a fusion of two halves between Danny and Vlad ghost half side.

Pure Misery and sorrow x Ball of anger and vengeance. A recipe for disaster.

You may think the 'dead' human half in the apocalypse timeline will refuse to fuse with the ghost half but you are wrong.

He is desperate to be back with the other half. You will not have regular Danny because he did not exist anymore.

The thing that exist is pure embodiment of despair.

With the release of Oppenheimer, it feels like a good time to reflect back on just some earlier brilliant Cillian Murphy roles, for those that might be unfamiliar with them. Jim – 28 Days Later (2002)

For many, this might be their first exposure to Cillian. If you love zombie movies they just don’t get much better than 28 Days Later. In my opinion, the movie is one of the absolute best films within that genre. After waking up in a hospital with no recollection of what’s happened, Jim (Cillian Murphy) starts to make his way through a ravaged London. Cillian Murphy’s introduction in 28 Days Later is unforgettable. The first thing most think of is Jim walking across an empty Westminster Bridge. it’s an impressive shot, considering that it was done for real. Backed by an outstanding soundtrack from John Murphy, and directed by Danny Boyle, Jim’s quest for survival is a savage one.

Tommy Shelby – Peaky Blinders (2013 – 2022)

Peaky Blinders shows us the criminal life of the Shelby family during the early 1900s. At the heart of it is Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy). Tommy is a very determined character intent on building a criminal enterprise. Tommy’s enterprise eventually, thanks to greed, expands outside of just his hometown of Birmingham. Tommy is ruthless and often puts his business before his family, which can be a really tough watch. Traumatized by his time in World War I, Tommy comes across as quite cut-throat, and relentless. Ironically his one weakness is his family.

Cillian constructively balances all of these heavy themes throughout the series. Told over six seasons, with a corker of a cast (Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory), Peaky Blinder is considered by many as Cillian’s finest acting role. I can believe that claim too as he’s had so much time to actually live and grow with the character. Like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, it’s hard to imagine anyone else portraying Tommy Shelby. Capa – Sunshine (2007)

Sure, Cillian Murphy has worked on a stack of movies with Christopher Nolan. After the success of 28 Days Later, Cillian once again teamed up with Danny Boyle, and this brings us to Sunshine. Once more backed by composer John Murphy, Sunshine is a claustrophobic trip towards the center of the sun. Why you ask? Well, the sun is dying. A team of astronauts packs a colossal bomb on their ship, the Icarus II. They do this in hopes of reigniting the sun back to its full strength and potential. Cillian does a superb job at keeping Capa grounded in the first act of the movie. Cillian the calm and concentrated character in the situation. However, the closer they get to the sun, the more Capa is horrifically tested. Capa is pushed to his limit, and Cillian captures that whole progression with ease. We are only “stardust” indeed…

Cillian has been featured in a diverse list of simply amazing projects, and these three outings are just the tip of the iceberg. From Inception, Batman Begins, Red Eye, and that project I haven’t named which you’re thinking of right now.

Cillian is having an impressive run, and after Oppenheimer, we can’t wait to see what he will do next...'

Edit: Might re-write this so I'm not using terf content. I haven't kept up with the Harry Potter bs and didn't realize it was that problematic until a few hours after it posted. The reason I'm leaving it as-is is because where this prompt takes place isn't too integral to the plot, but I haven't found a suitable replacement yet as it (preferably) still needs magic school ties. Time Lapse

It’s interesting how you can connect a location with someone, and once that person is gone, it doesn’t feel the same, ever. Like something in the balance is off, and it feels like there’s always someone over looking his shoulder. ( No one is doing this, it’s a feeling he can’t shake off, without reason. ) At times he still goes to 'The Ruby’ to spend time with his friends, but the ambience is different. It doesn’t help that one of their main talents is no longer performing there. It was stark. The first time, he thought she’d simply been off, but then the absence after that, he had to ask around. 

And it’s not as if he is actively looking for her, but he did enjoy their conversations and he’d gotten accustomed to her presence. So when he spots Yuji out about in the local area, his introverted self hesitated at first before walking up to her, lest he let the opportunity slip him by. Perhaps too eager, Danny embodies the vibe of a lost pup who’d just found a long lost friend or previous owner - awful analogy, but he’s so excited- and then an onslaught of thoughts come crashing behind him. What if she’d been kind because he was a patron there and it was nothing more than just greetings between employee and customers? Okay, he was definitely thinking way too much into this - just say hello!

“Hi Yuji!” Danny all but exclaims, before catching himself. “I don’t know if you’d remember me or anything of the sort but - it’s been so long since I’ve seen you since you stopped working at the bar.”

Black Mirror's "Striking Vipers": Reality v. Virtual Reality

After watching Black Mirror’s “Striking Vipers” episode, I honestly wasn’t sure what to make of it, but I allowed myself to watch it thoroughly as it was a lot to take in. The plot follows Danny Parker, a married-family man who lives in his own world of despair and is awakened from his monotone slumber after being visited by Karl, an old friend. Karl gives Danny “Striking Vipers X,” a simulated, virtual fighting video game where they reconnect through their characters. However, they begin to have a sexual affair within the game as they embody both of their characters. I think one of the overall themes of the episode is gender and/or sexual fluidity as the story follows two heterosexual men who attempt to balance the idea of homosexuality and how it’s presented in both the real world and virtual reality. Additionally, I believe that this can be seen in modern-day society where people are consistently combating their real identities and their online identities. People are expected to be one thing in real life, whereas in virtual reality, there ar no (actual) limitations to who or what you can be.
