Empty Houses

So, before I start, I think we just need to talk about some misconceptions first, one being that an empty house has no meaning or value to your life, the lack of placements in that area being equated with complete silence, like an empty house. The most common practice people will use, when trying to understand empty houses, is by looking at the houses "lord", aka the ruling planet of the empty houses' ruling cusp.

 

When looking at the house lords, I prefer the modern method (but still use Traditional alongside it):

Aries - Mars

Taurus + Libra - Venus

Gemini + Virgo - Mercury

Cancer - Moon

Leo - Sun

Scorpio - Pluto

Sagittarius – Jupiter

 Capricorn – Saturn

 Aquarius - Uranus

Pisces – Neptune

 

When looking at house lords, we look towards where that placement falls in our chart, using the house it falls under, any aspects, and if you apply it, malefic/benefic delineations to understand how that houses themes express themselves. So, say someone has an empty Cancer 3H, the lord of that house would be the Moon, meaning that we look to their Moon placements, any aspects towards it, etc. to understand how they (3H) communicate their emotions.

For me, under that same circumstance (empty Cancer 3H), let's say the house cusp is at 25° 25°- Aries- square degree influence- causes conflict between (25°) their desire for leadership and (square/cancer) their understanding of being able to express themselves as that leader. So, through house lords and other theories, we're able to see that we are able to find meaning in empty houses. Especially when it comes to transits through those houses, we can miss out on a lot in our chart if we treat these transits as *entering a void*. So, now to go through the houses and what they mean on their own! If these don't apply, try applying the degree aspect method and see if you have square or inconjunction degree influences over said house.

 

EMPTY 1H

This is someone who doesn't have to put thought into who they are, most struggles they face when it comes to their identity having to do with almost being careless with who they represent themselves as. This is someone who doesn’t feel the need to prove themselves. An empty 1H is someone who... isn't by any means immune to insecurity, but they aren't driven by it. Doubting themselves, if they're able, only happens in response to failure, needing a direct cause to make them start thinking about themselves.

 

EMPTY 2H

This is someone who has an easy time communicating their morals, values, and need for stability to people, sometimes overstepping by laying out an NDA for a new friend. Empty 2H folks tend to be... while they value their possessions, this is someone who isn't broken by something breaking. If they lose something, to them, all they can do is either find it or replace it. There is no intermission with them, they push forward.

 

EMPTY 3H

This is someone who... may have issues with recognizing social dynamics and cliques because they're so ready to give everyone an equal opportunity to get to know them, usually never considering what can be done with all that information. An empty 3H shows someone who, really, talks to hear themselves talk. While the house may be empty, this is where the silence of it becomes uncomfortable, pushing the native to make up for it on their own.

 

EMPTY 4H

Empty 4H's tend to have a cohesive home life, possibly getting in trouble for not switching things up enough. These are folks who tend to go home with the intentions of staying home, entering a new mindset depending on what side of the door they're on. The 4H being empty can show someone who, actually, needs an empty house. Not having any placements, these folks aren't used to not being able to escape the stress, so shadow work literally starts at what they consider to be "home".

 

EMPTY 5H

An empty 5H represents someone who, maybe even though having a touch childhood, still never lost their connection to their innocence and curiosity. This is someone who's never felt scared of or embarrassed by their own need to share and receive love. The 5H being empty shows someone who tends to follow trends more than starting them, and it's because they don't mind being introduced to something new. Their love isn't limited by any insecurity, their heart reaches as far as consent allows them to.

EMPTY 6H

This is someone who has little problem staying organized, or lives life so comfortably that they have their own version of being organized. These will be the 6H cusps to have their own system, holding to it no matter how much sense it makes. When they don't need to do a lot of work to maintain their life, this can sometimes lead to them... not being so great at adhering to other peoples' schedules. They tend to assume everything will take the least amount of work, sometimes falling apart because they didn't check up.

EMPTY 7H

An empty 7H shows someone who, usually, doesn't ever know the relationship is going south until they're literally told it is, assuming everything is alright as long as the two people who need to be together [are] together. They're truly about "us against the world", having a habit of forgetting, romantically and platonically, to check up on the other person and actually ask what they need out of a partner. This 7H needs to focus on more active communication, even if they don't think they "need" it.

EMPTY 8H

This house being empty shows someone who has no hesitation in how they share themselves with people, simply following the desire to be closer to someone and wanting to be the one who changes them for the better. And it isn't necessarily their goal to change the people they love, but intimacy to them is pushing each other forward through the anxiety and fear, not letting each other get stuck in feeling out of place-- fear they forget to say they don't really experience.

EMPTY 9H

This is someone who swings around a sword with three edges, one who needs no validation for their beliefs, one who sees no limitations in exploring other peoples' beliefs, and one who asks so many questions that people perceive it as doubt. Empty 9H'ers are... always looking to understand, over anything else. I think sometimes digging too much can get them in trouble, but it's never enough to put an end to their curiosity, because that ease in their approach to expansion already accounts for growing pains.

 

EMPTY 10H

The 10H being empty represents someone who doesn't usually feel a strong desire to change who they are to affect perceptions of them, not seeing value in being [known] if it means they have to be known for being someone else. This is someone who... for better or worse, rushes past criticism, setting their minds to a goal and only accepting failure if that specific goal isn't reached. This is representative of a hard worker, but tunnel vision can be their worst enemy in terms of other areas in life.

 

EMPTY 11H

I think, when it comes to the 11H being empty, this can either represent someone who finds ease in surrounding themselves with people, or finds ease in knowing they don't need that many people in their lives. An empty 11H shows someone who's dreams change constantly, maybe so much that people lose belief in their ability to follow through, but everything is connected. They may bounce around a lot, but every "thoughtless" risk they take has purpose.

 

EMPTY 12H

Probably being the most intimidating house to face silence in, an empty 12H, to me, either represents someone who is in constant communication with themselves, or is so driven to push past their subconscious that they don't find the closure they need. An empty 12H shows ease in the connection between conscious and subconscious, but not everyone can handle a relationship they have little choice in being a part of. Sometimes it's silencing the endlessness of their anxiety that helps them find the answers they need.

Astro observations pt 1

Hey y'all this is my very first post :) Please take it with a grain of salt. These are just my interpretations and observations and a placement could mean million different things on how its being viewed and understood and nothing is sure on how it manifests for you in your chart.

Jupiter in 8th house can mean many things, one of them being your spouse would bring transformative experiences into your life.

2. Scorpio mercuries may have a tendency to over analyze what is being said or always wanting to read between the lines

3. I have seen Pluto in 5th house of all the people who's mothers were dominated. Though this can mean the other way around too, and could be that the mother was dominating.

4. I think other than most people saying Pluto 1st housers go a massive change in appearance, I think it could actually mean that their personality and persona goes a massive change at some point in their life, or its constantly being evolved through learning experiences

Life, unfortunately, isn’t a Disney movie. As a result of the psychological and emotional abuse you’ve endured in childhood, your friendships and relationships might’ve been quite turbulent, at times even violent. Juuust a small number of you could’ve dealt with being called a violent kid, or you could’ve struggled with anger management and have terrible tantrums. All of these have made human connections quite difficult to navigate.

It’s not like you want to be a nasty person, right? Dsc) The amount of stress and literal change caused this person to have a hard mental illness and misuse a lot of substances because they didn't know best for themselves anymore. Almost everything in their safe zone changed, and mostly not for the good. People around that person mostly mistreated them hard and even for no reason, most of the time

💥 Moon conjunct jupiter retrograde signifies an overload of negative emotions and probably indicate substance abuse

💥 Having 11th house ruler conjunct lilith usually means that the person will change a lot of friend groups due to feelings of unacceptance and loneliness

People Pleaser Steve

Steve is a people pleaser. Years of living with his parents and their demeaning stares and harsh words have destroyed his sense of self preservation.

"Keep Eye Contact, Steven," his mother would say. "Stop Complaining, You need to make our guest Comfortable." His father would say. Until the age of ten all Steve got was criticism. Constant reminders on how to behave perfectly and how to appease his parents.

The morning they decided he was old enough to stay home himself, coincidentally on his 10th birthday, they packed up and started renting an apartment in Chicago to better monitor their Business. They sent him money for food, got him a bike so he could go to school, they even sent a few extra 20s every other month so he could get new clothes as he grew.

Of course, Steve never complained. This was how he kept the peace, how he avoided the cold glare from his parents.

The pattern continued into adulthood, Steve practically raised himself for the last 8 years of his childhood, he only saw his parents when they needed him.

When he (accidently) became the mother of the nerdiest bunch of kids in Hawkins, he made himself a promise, No matter what he'd be there. Every recital, every birthday party, every holiday, and every time they needed a ride; he was there.

When Christmas came around after everything had happened, after Max had recovered and Eddie's wounds had healed perfectly, he decided he would make it the best Christmas they'd ever seen. Just to make them happy.

He decorated the entire house, made enough food to feed his small football team of a group, he got so many presents for everyone that he had to skip out on food three days a week for two months just because he wanted it to be perfect.

The kids came over on Christmas Eve night to spend the night together, slept in sleeping bags he bought special for them. Eddie came to help wrangle the crazies until Robin got back from visiting her grandparents in Ohio.

They ate like they were starving or like it was their last meal. All except Steve, who was too afraid to overstep or take away from someone else to even try one of the many kinds of food he made.

The games died down and the food was gone by midnight. The kids slept peacefully in their sleeping bags. Steve let out a small sigh, a smile on his face as he stood and took empty platters and plates to the kitchen.

He washed the dishes in silence, a baggy crew neck sweater replacing his usual polos. He knew if he wore them the others would notice he had lost weight and he didn't want to inconvenience them. Steve looked so beat down and tired, the bags under his eyes told so much and Eddie knew that from now on he would do Everything to keep them away.

He took the empty bowl and washed it before walking over to Steve. "I know it's a bit early but...I got you something," he whispers, pulling out a small box from his back pocket.

It was a light blue box with a thin red ribbon and white trim. Steve's thin fingers removed the lid to find a locket in the shape of a guitar pick.

Inside there were two pictures, one with the kids, and one with Steve and Eddie. It was the picture from when Eddie was discharged, the day Steve agreed to get treatment for his wounds. Eddie's arm is around Steve's shoulders, it's the only picture in the world with Steve's Real smile. His eyes swelled with tears. It's the only gift he's gotten since he was 10, since his parents left to run their company, since Everything.

"Shit I didn't mean to make you cry again! I just-" Eddie is cut off with the tightest hug he's ever gotten.

"It's Perfect," Steve whispers.

He's met with calloused hands on the back of his head, gently massaging his scalp.

Astrology Lesson of the Week: The 10th House

In continuing with this exploration of the houses, we are going to talk about the 10th House today.

The 10th House is the most public house. It’s where we feel exposed, in a sense, but we set ourselves up for that exposure.

It is known as the “house of fame” and celebrities are looked at in the same sense: receiving a lot of attention from the public, whether good or bad, but having put themselves in that position. You often don’t get the utmost sympathy in the 10th House, unless the Moon or Neptune are involved here. Otherwise, we can be harshly judged in this sector, if we fall short of certain expectations, but we can also receive great recognition and success and respect if we live up to those expectations.

I tend to look at the 12th House as more of a fame indicator; at least in terms of huge and iconic fame that stands the test of time and has a cultural impact. The 10th House is more about celebrity, in general, and the nature of fame. Generally speaking, this house can provide you with publicity and attract recognition. But, do you have what it takes to maintain it?

We are tested in the 10th House and asked to either meet a certain bar or set it. This is also where we can “flop” or experience backlash, scandal, career-damaging controversy. It’s a house that can indicate failures and setbacks in addition to successes. With Saturn as its ruler, the 10th House can put us through our paces. Setting the fame metaphor aside, any person can feel the heightened exposure that comes from the 10th, whether it’s your reputation in your community or professional field, your visibility on the job, or even your social media platforms. Image matters here and it is maintained through our 10th House traits.

Like I will keep saying throughout this series, empty houses matter, too. You might be a little less preoccupied with the concerns of your empty house(s). But, it still matters. That is especially clear when it comes to the four angular houses: the 1st House, 4th House, 7th House and 10th House. They represent the four most essential pillars of our lives: our identity (1st), home/private life (4th), relationships (7th) and career (10th). So, yes, even if your 10th House is empty, it still plays a big role in your life. We look to the signs on the house cusps to figure out how they express themselves. The sign on the 10th House cusp is also known as the Midheaven. Our Midheaven sign tells us how we can most successfully carve out a career, establish our reputation and public presence, and gain the respect and recognition from the world at large. This can be on a major scale, a la fame, or just among the people in your community or professional arena.

Since the Midheaven is an angle in the chart, it is also possible for you to have planets conjunct the Midheaven (which may either fall into your 10th or 9th House) and planets in aspect to your Midheaven. That further colors what kind of image you can curate and how you will be perceived. The interesting thing about the 10th House is that there is something very limiting about it. It’s like people are predisposed to see you in the light of your Midheaven and its aspects and any planets in the 10th. You can try to do other things but you will be most successful if you know your lane and stick to it. This is where the “image” and “public persona” element come in. It’s not necessarily an inauthentic version of you. It is just a premeditated version of yourself. It is short-sighted to strive to be absolutely “authentic” via the 10th in a literal way. Even if your 10th House does require a bit more of that genuineness from you, people in the public sphere can only know you so much. Like a celebrity, even when it appears like they really know you, they don’t.

People with planets in their 10th House seem to understand this better than most, either by instinct or through hard earned experience. They learn how to “play the game” more expertly than most, using their placements in this house as tools and assets to succeed. An inability or unwillingness to do so seriously works against them. 10th House people often have to endure major tests on a large scale. It is common to see famous people with planets here but even 10th House people who don’t have literal fame will still feel like they do. For some, they exalt themselves to this status in their minds. Those with 10th House placements tend to love being on social media and put a lot of effort into building their platform and impressing people with it. They are typically popular people, socially or in the workplace, and pride themselves on the reputation they’ve built.

However, there are also consequences that are experienced here. The 10th House is not all about being admired or celebrated. If someone with 10th House planets has this sort of attitude and is going about this image-mongering in a very manipulative or very destructive way, they will eventually get hit with backlash. This is where you get held accountable. The public won’t let you just get away with everything. Some 10th House people find themselves experiencing a major fall from grace if they have pursued status or success in a really underhanded way. If they have abused their power, spread lies about people, stabbed others in the back, or portrayed an undeniably false image, it will come back to bite them. People can accept you putting on a persona. What people can’t accept is outright deceit or hiding bad behavior. And the result could be a loss of the popularity and position they did so much to get/maintain.

It is also possible that the 10th House person has to endure a certain unflattering or unpleasant trial before the public. It really may not be their fault. It could be the harmful choices of other people that negatively affects them, such as an untrue smear campaign or a huge betrayal from someone else, a person they are highly associated with or work with. They could lose their job and deal with a devastating aftermath or lose their career altogether. But, this kind of “fall from grace” can lead to an ultimate success story. Those with an occupied 10th House often achieve remarkable things after a period of struggle, hardship, loss, or disadvantage. This is a house that requires wisdom and maturity, which is why it often doesn’t fully express itself until well into adulthood. It shows us that the difficult things we go through can be seen as opportunities to learn and grow, setting us up for true success down the line.

Whether you have planets in the 10th or not, it takes us some time to understand how to use the energies here. We are meant to wield them in the world. The 10th House is a weapon meant to be utilized to achieve great things. But, a weapon can be used against others or ourselves. It takes mastery for us to learn the proper and most effective usage of it. This part of our chart is a point of power and with that comes responsibility.

hey!! I hope you all are doing fine. If its your birthday, then happy birthday haha(so random lmao) This is a long post, so you may need to read through :) Apart from your solar return, profection years are another way to check major themes of your year.

At its most basic, every age that’s a multiple of 12 is a 1st House year. So that’s when you turn 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 and so on.

Your Time Lord for the Year

The other thing profections will do is turn on a planet as the ruler or ‘lord’ of your year ahead. This is called a time lord. This planet will be the traditional ruling planet of the sign on the profected house.

For example, your profected house by age is the 7th House, look at the sign in that house. Gemini in 7th? Mercury is the ruler. Taurus in 7th? Venus is your time lord.

This planet becomes a guiding influence for your year ahead. Not that if you have Venus as your time lord you will fall in love daily lmao, But rather, you will experience rulership of this planet affecting your themes of the year. I hope im making sense.

Planets in Houses

Next, check the placements and themes of your profected house in your natal chart. For instance, everyone turning 18 will be in a 7th house year BUT each person will have different planets in their 7th house, and a different sign ruling the house.

For example, my 7th house is empty, and in my 18th year nothing major or life changing has happened, I am on my gap year.

If you have Mars in your 7th House, then your Mars themes – developing or managing assertiveness in partnerships, dealing with a little tension, the impact other people have on your decision making process, that type of thing – are highlighted for that year.

If you have Pluto in your 7th house, then themes like power, struggles, isolation and transformation maybe highlighted that year.

As explained in the preceding issue, the Sun is regarded as the generator of power that gives spirit and life to all planets, the Moon is considered to be the conductor of power lent by Sun and rules over the lives of the beings on this earth. Sun represents individuality, whereas Moon shows one’s personality

MOON IN 6 HOUSE

This house is affected by the Mercury and Ketu. The Moon in this house will be affected by the planets placed in the 2nd, 8th, 12th and 4th houses. The native will receive education with obstacles and will have to struggle a lot for reaping the benefits of his educational achievements. If the Moon is placed in the 6th, 2nd, 4th, 8th and 12th houses it is auspicious. The native would enliven a dying person by putting a few drops of water in his mouth. But if the Moon is malefic in the 6th house and Mercury is placed in the 2nd or 12th house, the native will have suicidal tendencies. Similarly, if the Moon is malefic and the Sun is placed in the 12th house, then the native or his wife or both will have severe eye defects and troubles.

Moon in 7th house

The 7th house belongs to Venus and Mercury. When the Moon is placed here, the results of this house will be affected by the Venus, Mercury and Moon. Venus and Mercury combined together give the effects of the Sun. The 1st house aspects the 7th house. Consequently the rays of the Sun from the 1st house would be enlightening the Moon if placed in the 7th, which means that the things and the relatives represented by the Moon will provide highly beneficial and good results. Educational achievements will prove fruitful for earning money or wealth. He may or may not have properties but will certainly have cash money in hand always. He will have good potential for being a poet or astrologer, or else he will be characterless and will have great love for mysticism and spiritualism. The 7th Moon also denotes conflict between the native’s wife and mother, adverse effects in milk trade. Disobedience towards mother will cause overall tensions and troubles.

Moon in 8th House

This house belongs to Mars and Saturn. The Moon here affects the education of the native ad- versely, but if education goes well the native’s mother’s life will be shortened and very often such a native loses both -education and the mother. However, the evil effects of the Moon in the 7th house will be mitigated if Jupiter and Saturn be placed in the 2nd house. The 7th Moon often deprives the native of his parental properties. If there is a well or pond adjacent to the parental property of the native, he will receive adverse results of the Moon all through his life.

Moon in 9th House

The 9th house belongs to Jupiter, who is a great friend of the Moon. Hence the native will imbibe the traits and features of both these planets - good conduct, soft heartedness, religious bent of mind and love for virtuous acts and pilgrimage. He will live upto 75 years. A friendly planet in the 5th house will augment comforts and pleasures from the son and develops intense interest in religious deeds. A friendly planet in the 3rd house ensures great increase in money and wealth.

Moon in 10th House

The 10th house is in every manner ruled by Saturn. This house is aspected by the 4th house, which is similarly ruled by Moon. Hence the Moon in the 10th house ensures a long life of about 90 years for the native. Moon and Saturn are inimical, therefore, medicines in liquid form will always prove harmful to him. The milk will act as poison if taken during night. If he is a medical practitioner, dry medicines administered by him to the patient will have a magical effect for cure. If a surgeon, he will earn great wealth and fame for surgery. If the 2nd and 4th houses are empty money and wealth will rain on him. If Saturn is placed in the 1st house, the native’s life will be destroyed by the opposite sex, especially a widow.

Moon in 11th house

This house is strongly influenced by Jupiter and Saturn. Every planet placed in this house will destroy its inimical planets and the things associated with them.
