-Jay’s hands are cold. Frigid. Zero circulation. So when Tim first found this out, he held Jay’s hands for five solid minutes until Jay had to get back to what video he was editing. Hand holding is now a regular thing for them.

-Tim has always had this need to feel independent. He just hates relying on someone else in fear of being a burden. So he feels somewhat guilty whenever Jay buys him anything. Too bad Jay’s love language is gift giving.

-Great segway into saying that Jay’s love language is gift giving, with physical touch being a close second. Tim prefers quality time. Though they make it work somehow.

-While they both get anxiety talking to strangers, Tim’s more than willing to go up to somebody for Jay. Especially if it’s someone that could potentially be connected with The Operator. Tim knows first hand how easily it is for Jay to rub someone the wrong way. He’s found it’s easier for him to take the reins in social situations.

-If Marble Hornets was in present day, Jay would send cute cat videos to Tim with the text “us?”

-Tim is a dry ass texter and Jay hates it. He’s already an over thinker, so Tim uses tone tags (specifically ‘/nm’) to assure Jay he isn’t upset or anything.

-Jay will always wear Tim’s clothes. He used to find the smell of cigarettes too much, but after meeting Tim, it brings him so much joy. Prompting him to wear Tim’s jackets often.

-Tim, of course, noticed the first couple of times.

“Is that my jacket?”

“..no.”

-He stopped trying after that.

-I headcanon them to both flail in their sleep. This leads up to many nights of them getting smacked in the face by one another.

-So, as much as they love each other’s company, they sleep in separate beds. Or with a pillow in between their sleeping bodies. It’s the only way for a night to not turn into an unconscious smack down.

-Tim can handle spicy food well, though Jay can’t. That doesn’t stop him from taking a bite of Tim’s spicy food at a restaurant often.

-Jay spits it out onto a napkin and chugs his entire water. Tim watches across from him, trying desperately not to laugh.

-Tim shaved his beard one time without telling Jay. Jay was left wondering why his boyfriend was in the bathroom for so long. After a few minutes, Tim emerges clean shaven.

-Took a while for Jay to get over grieving the lack of hair on his face. He’ll still wake up in the middle of the night — well after Tim has grown his beard out again — haunted by the image… /j

-Tim accidentally stumbled upon Jay’s yearbook once. Safe to say Jay never heard the end of it about his highschool haircut.

here is my definitive thought process re: ranking (no one is allowed to boo me)

#4 oikawa: PROBABLY A VERY UNPOPULAR OPINION but i think he rests on his pretty boy laurels a bit! not saying that he's in ANY way a bad fuck but i simply do not think he outranks his competitors here. so hot it's almost kind of annoying when he takes his clothes off.

#3 makki: he's got the spirit!! into weird stuff but is also very eager to please. very average guy energy but in an endearing way. still a very good fuck and especially as a hookup because he makes u feel very comfortable.

#2 mattsun: listen. i wanted to put him first. i really did. this is where i quite literally agonized in my internal debate. in fact, i would argue that he IS the most sexually charismatic of the four—however i live and die on the hill that his dick is HUGE. to the point that. it is arguably too big. u cannot have a quickie with issei because u either need like an hour of foreplay or enough lube that u basically need to take a hazmat shower after you're done. this is the only reason i marked him down. champagne problems.

my very serious writing advice for people who are trying to write more morally complex characters is to stop caring about their morality and focus instead on their individual motivations

it’s hard to articulate exactly what I mean, but the essence of it is basically: when a character does a murder, not only do I not care about whether they’re justified in doing so, it’s straight-up irrelevant. a character’s moral standing from some nebulous universal standard has no bearing on the plot or their interactions with other characters and has no use in the story for me as a writer. what does matter is why the character thought they were justified and then if it comes up to other characters, what they think about it.

you can obviously think about your characters’ morality but it’s not your job as a writer to interpret your stories for your readers and tell them how to judge your characters. your readers can see the evidence for themselves and draw their own conclusions. your job is just to understand why a character is motivated to act in a certain way and have it make sense

focusing on character motivations is a much more versatile framework than trying to give them specific personality traits or moral alignments, and frankly more useful to understand why a character would do a certain thing instead of just what they do. that way when something fucked up happens and your character starts acting differently, there’s an actual logical reason for it that isn’t you forcing characters to do things because it’s what’s required to make the plot go

when you write your characters with the understanding that people are not static and they act differently under different circumstances, complexity in character and morality follows naturally.

I applied for an athletic scholarship too. Track and field. The one the school gave was just for basic tuition. This one will cover the rest. It helped that I won a couple of track meets in high school. Guess all that running from gang’s in middle school paid off, huh?

First years have to live on campus and the dorming system fucking sucks ass. And my roommate was an even bigger dick than you but at least he wasn’t a slob. No one will top you in that department I guess.

Rented a cheaper apartment off campus this year. It’s a shitty studio type, a bit cramped, but I like the privacy. It’s also closer to my part-time job and there’s this elderly couple who lives below me. I help them around sometimes and they give me food. The old landlady is a bit of a hardass though but…I think you would’ve charmed and won her over too, you smarmy ass shithead.

Rent isn’t cheap but it’s not too expensive either. If you were here, we could’ve shared an apartment. A regular one, not the high-end one you used to live in. Better for costs and splitting chores—not that you were any good at them, but you would’ve gotten better if you stayed. I wasn’t gonna tolerate your rich boy ass in college.

It was menthol. The cig I smoked. It fell cool in my lungs, calming almost, and I kind of understand why you're addicted to this shit I guess. If I didn’t hate the taste of smoke and the aftertaste maybe I’ll be too.

Make the Most of It

Roo boarded a busy bus after an outing with Rylan, and Roo knew the trip was going to be a long one and fell asleep. After sometime, an aching worry creeped into his stomach and began waking him up, and all it took was a gust of summer wind, and an acrid smell of oil to fully wake him up, which was just in time to read his unexpected welcome into Strangetown. Like most people, he inched towards the front to ask the bus driver where in god's name he was, but... there was no bus driver! Who was driving the bus? Where did everyone AND the bus driver go? How did they get here? How long had Roo been asleep? So many questions and all left unanswered as he departed the bus. Curiously, he approached the front door of a home nearby, where he saw a sign that said "This home is now property of Roo Norman," and although he was incredibly stressed and worried, the harsh wind gave him a feeling... He knew he was gonna be here for a long time... So with a free home, sparse money to his name and practically a new life, Roo figured it was best to make the most of this unexpected "vacation"...
