⋆ Grim’s like, ‘No. Please, Great Sevens, no…’ He wants anyone but him. Grim wouldn’t mind if it was one of the Leech Brothers, or hell even, that weird ass bowl cut kid that tried to light everything on fire. Just anyone but Ace! He can’t! Just imagining Ace’s cocky ass grin sends Grim into a fit of rage. Really considers all his life decisions.

⋆ Ehm, can you please speak a little louder? Ace didn’t hear that. Ace squeals like a high school girl who just got asked to prom. Considers this his greatest accomplishment tbh. You’re the hottest thing since sliced bread and Ace is the super cool, incredibly good looking super mage. Like it’s a no brainer. A match made in heaven. Deuce + Grim <3

⋆ Honestly, Grim’s okay with this one. Sure Deuce is a little airheaded, but Grim likes him a lot more than Ace! (that’s a lie, he loves both of them equally, just too stubborn to admit it) And he knows that Deuce will treat you right. Though, Grim doesn't know much more arguing he can take from the flustered idiot one and jealous idiot two. 

⋆ So so happy. He calls his mom immediately after, (i mean, he’s been calling his mom about you since the day you met) Deuce has really tried to be better, to be the type of guy that you wouldn’t hesitate to call yours and knowing that he made it makes him want to explode (in a good way ofc) He wants to cry, jump up and down, take you by your waist and give you a big ol’ smooch. There’s so many things he wants to do, so many things he wants to make you feel, because Deuce is so in love it’s embarrassing really. (Ace gags while also mourning the fact that it’s not him, jealous bastard)

⋆ Grim is a little on the fence about this one. Jacks a great guy, don’t get him wrong, but Grim doesn’t want to spend his mornings, afternoons and nights working out. Well, on second thought, the image of Grim sporting a rocking six pack kinda gets him to rethink….No, no…he does not want to give up his tuna! Jack will have to pry his box of tuna from his cold dead paws before he lets that happen. 

⋆ His tail does a little waggy once he hears you bragging. Like how can he not? He already talks about you a whole bunch. I mean if you count him always going ‘C’mon, even the prefect could do better!’ or ‘you might be even more airheaded then the Prefect…” then yeah, Jack’s doing a lot of bragging. He’s loyal by heart, but also emotionally constipated, so you’re going to have to look for the hidden meanings behind his brash words. Because it’s there! You just have to look hard and be patient!

⋆ Grim is honestly okay with this one. Epel and him are on good terms. So it doesn’t bother him all that much. Really there's nothing else to say other than, Grim is just happy that you’re happy.

Ortho + Grim <3

⋆ Second son? SECOND SON? NAH! GRIM’S IS YOUR ONLY SON! He literally gets so offended that you're talking about Ortho more than him. Every little ounce of affection or praise directed towards you little robotic buddy is greeted with an irritated huff and eye roll from Grim. Like did you forget that Grim’s been with you since forever? Grim truly see’s Ortho as a rival/threat, because unlike the other boys who you continuously thrist over, you’re so sweet and kind to Ortho and treat him like he was your kid/brother. It really gets Grim’s gears going. He just wants you to know that he is not above fighting a child, robotic or not, he’s going down.

⋆ Oh, Ortho’s over the moon. The person he sees as a second sibling loves him so much! It makes him so happy. Literally, he thinks he’s dreaming (can he dream?). And omg, this just fuels Ortho to get Idia to confess to you, so you’re all like an actual family. You and Idia can be the parents and Ortho and Grim can be your kids! Ortho has already taken to treating Grim like a little brother, constantly patting his head and giving him treats (which does soothes Grim’s dislike to him by a lot, at this point you think Grim likes Ortho more than you) Ortho does ask if you four could all take a christmas photo together (or whatever the equivalent to christmas is in their world) and he sends it to every one of his friends with really fancy blue and pink glitter gel pen font that says ‘From the Shrouds!’. Sure he knows you aren’t actually a family yet, but he’s sure he can do a little convincing and bam! The wedding is bound to happen!

Sebek + Grim <3

⋆ There’s dead silence from Grim. Like you do realize that you have no insurance right? How the heck are you supposed to pay for hearing aids for the both of you? He doesn’t get it. What’s the appeal? Did you hit your head that hard? Grim’s judging and he’s judging hard. But overall, Grim surprisingly feels bad. All he can think of is that one lyric you scream out every now then by that Rana le Del, um… What was it again? The Other Woman~ and that’s you. He just shakes his head because he knows you can do better. 

⋆ Sebek is a blushing mess. He’s on two ends of the spectrum, one being incredibly smug and two, wanting to scream the ears off anyone in the ten mile radius of him. There is no inbetween because he’s not a chill guy. When Sebek wants something he puts 110 percent into it. And that's what he does for you. You know what name becomes a frequent occurrence in his vocabulary? Yeah, it’s your name. There’s not a sentence that he says that does include you and Malleus in it. Yeah, he is making and joining every club that there is about you and yes, that is a shrine dedicated to you right next to his Malleus shrine. And no, you cannot stop him.

Riddle couldn’t bare the thought of you being away from him. That day, that fateful day where you took him out for a walk for a breath of fresh air, was the day that he would always remember and cherish. The way you asked for permission to hold his hand, the way you held onto them so gently, the way you laughed, the way you smiled and the way your eyes lit up at the sight of a blooming flower. Your eyes were the most lustrous that he had ever seen, and when you would look at him, he could feel himself melting inside.

Trey knew that he fell in love with you when he realized that he would always want you to accompany him. He would always seem to find ways to get you to assist him with baking, no matter how easy the recipe is. He will never get sick of the feeling of flowers blooming in his chest. Your joyous laughter always sound like a melody to him, and he would smile in return. He is never missing the opportunity to admire you from afar.

Cater never knew that he would actually fall in love. He couldn’t see himself liking anyone, but when you arrived, everything changed. In his point of view, you were the best person to ever appear in his life. You are so beautifully created, and if he were to ever see a flaw of yours, he would say that his eyes are the flawed ones. Ace finds it ridiculous that he fell in love with you. No matter how hard he tries to deny his feelings, he would always go back into your warming embrace. He couldn’t help but notice of how enchanting you are, quietly watching you talk to your friends. The way he looks at you is so soft, it makes you bubbly inside. He bullies you lovingly, not aware of the glances that his friends give him... He’s so mushy it’s disgusting. He’s so going to get teased for this by his friends.

Deuce realized that he becomes a shy mess around you. Whenever he talks to you, his eyes would always avoid your dreamy ones. You smiling at him will always make him combust, making epel and ace laugh at him. He acknowledges his feelings, unlike Ace. He tells his mother about you, on how wonderful you truly are, the radiant smiles that you send him, he tells his mom everything. And that’s when he knew, he truly fell head over heels for you.

Leona spends more time with you. The moment that he realized he had feelings for the herbivore, he shuts you out and refuses to acknowledge his feelings. But being away from you is hard, it’s difficult. He would always be grumpy if he didn’t see nor interact with you. Once you step into the Botanical Garden, his ears would perk up and his tail would swish, the sudden excitement rushing through his body. The only person that he would let scratch his ears or head is you. You will always be that person.

The moment that Ruggie realized that he fell in love, he becomes all giddy. You and him had a picnic in the middle of a dandelion field, which makes him excited as he was surrounded by his favourite flower. You plucked a dandelion and gave it to him, “make a wish.” you said. He parted his lips and took a look at your gentle smile that held nothing but kindness behind them. The beauty of your smile is something that he cannot describe. Ruggie carefully cupped the dandelion in his hands before making a wish.

At first, Jack didn’t care about love. But he seemed to be proven wrong when he realized that he was in love with you, his friend. He shows you that he loves you by always shielding you from nearby trouble and protecting you ‘till his last breath. He will help you with anything, no matter how simple the task is. He will help you do your daily errands, accompanying you along the way— who cares if he’s tired? he needs to protect you!

Azul finds ‘love’ troublesome. He thinks that love is a waste of time— but that was before you came along. When you went to Monstro Lounge to dine in with your first year buddies, he couldn’t help but notice how bright your eyes looked that night. So, he took it upon himself to take your orders, as well as deliver the meals that you ordered. He will always be screaming on the inside from your interactions. Jade and Floyd knew of his little crush on you, and decided to tease him for it. He definitely tries to make you sign a contract, while hiding the written part that says "be forever mine".

Jade fell in love with you when you both went for a hike. He realized that you were actually listening to his ramblings about mushrooms, and it warms his heart. You would listen intently to every word he says, even commenting at some of the mushroom facts. His heart swirls with pride when he hears your hearty laughter, a sign that you enjoy his company. He is very subtle with his feelings, but everyone (except for you) noticed on how his eyes softened at the mere mention of the ramshackle prefect.

Floyd becomes more clingy with you. It isn't a surprise for anyone to see the eel cling onto you like a sloth. Nothing changed from his behaviour, everyone would think. But you and Jade knew that he became much more closer to you, more touchy. He craves your touch. Annoys you ‘till the end, but will always be by your side. Other students won't be able to approach you if the Leech hangs around you like a... well, a leech. So, free protection? He will protect his shrimpy no matter what!

Kalim can’t see the difference between platonic and romantic affection. But he does know that he wants to hug and kiss you. Holding hands and any form of physical contact will having him cooing in delight. But, the moment that he realized that he fell in love with you was when you were checking if he had any injuries on him. You could’ve let Jamil do that, but considering the fact that he’s incredibly tired, you let him rest. To him, you are the most beautiful human being to ever exist— the way your hand gently touches his, it’s making his heart flutter. You are perfect!

Jamil has no problem with love whatsoever. Although he doesn’t focus on that topic but focuses on Kalim instead, he could not ignore how you offered him help. Jamil didn’t doubt your cooking skills, but he does have a part of his brain that prays that scarabia’s kitchen doesn’t end up in ashes. In the end, your creation was mouth-watering. Jamil smiles at you, and you were beaming in delight when they said that it tasted delicious. He couldn’t help but notice how precious you looked in the moment and basked it in. But, he ignores his feelings— so you have to be the one to confess.

‘i don’t have time for love.’ Vil thinks. Surrounded by fans who adore him, he couldn’t care less about love. Sure, love sounds wonderful but it’s difficult to deal with. However, there was a time when Vil pulled you into Pomefiore’s dorm to get you dressed up, since you looked like a rotten potato. You could only sigh and accept your fate, patiently waiting for the makeover to finish while Epel struggles beside you. “open your eyes, potato.” so you opened them. wait— since when did the prefect had such an angelic look? You looked like you were perfectly glowing. Vil’s cheeks were decorated with a soft red hue, eyes softening at the sight of you.

Rook is well... Rook. He understands the concept of love too much. Most might think, "he def fell in love the first time he saw u" and you are not wrong yet not right. At first glance, he only adored you. You were just doing archery for fun, when Rook popped up beside you. “Trickster-kun, doing archery? So magnifique! Come, show me your skills!” you held the archery arrow towards the apple above Rook and shot an arrow, a subtle smile present. “Jackpot. Thanks for the offer, Rook—” He immediately held your hand and got on one knee, “mon trésor, please be mine.” “what?!” congrats, now you have a hunter trailing behind you, asking for your hand in marriage.

‘ew, love.’ that’s how Epel views love. Love is so... yucky. Seeing all those happy couples makes him want to vomit. He gained feelings after spending more time with you, most of the time trying to escape from Vil. Once he realized he had a crush on you, he tries his hardest to be a man in front of you. Becomes an agressive chihuahua whenever someone talks bad about you. If he wants to lead you anywhere, he would tightly hold onto your hand and curse ace for laughing at him. One of the priviledges you get for being his crush is that he doesn’t mind you calling him pretty.

How the hell did you get Idia to fall in love with you? Being a naturally caring person, you asked Ortho to give Idia a bento that was made for him. Ortho happily agreed and gave it to Idia, who was confused. Once Ortho said that it was from you, he started to blush aggressively as the tips of his hair begins to turn pink. Attached to the bento, was a note from you. Agh, he can’t take it anymore! He needs to cool off!

Malleus fell in love with you during one of your late night walks. “Malleus?” you called onto his name, making him look at you. The way his name rolls off your tongue sounds so perfect. “What’s wrong, child of man?” he softly asks. It was clear to everyone that he was infatuated with you. “here... i made you a flower crown.” Malleus stares at the huge ring of flowers on your palm, before returning his to look at you. “A flower crown..?” you put it on his head and smiled at him. “like this. You wear it like this!” Malleus could feel his heart thumping loudly againts his ribcage, as the tip of his ears turn pink. “I see. Thank you, child of man.”

Lilia has had past partners before. You’ve been Ramshackle’s prefect for straight 3 years now. However, to this day, Crowley still hasn’t found a way for you to return back to your original world. Although it hurts to imagine you leaving him alone, he has to accept it. He fell in love when he realized that you care a lot about Silver, Sebek and as well as Malleus. They were like family to you, and it warms his heart. He loves you so much. The more that he is in love with you, the more that he scares you. It’s his way of loving, okay?

The moment that Silver fell in love was that when he woke up from a nap to find a lunchbox made especially for him. He moved his head, coincidentally finding a flower crown on top of him. Still a little drowsy, he read the note that was left to find out if was by you, the ramshackle prefect. His cheeks slightly turns red, a small smile graced upon his face. Nobody except for Lilia had cared so much for him, and he is grateful for it. The birds that were surrounding him chirps happily as he ate the lunchbox’s contains, thinking about you. He’s definitely in love... and he doesn’t mind it.

Sebek’s purpose was to protect Malleus, his waka-sama. He didn’t think that he would fall in love, much less with the ramshackle prefect, his acquaintance! He wouldn’t focus on his feelings, but would instead focus on protecting Malleus (who doesn’t need protection but sebek dgaf). He fell in love with you once he spends more time with the first years (containing you). He needs waka sama

crowley is (finally) allowing you the choice of leaving ramshackle to move to whichever dorm you please, but you’re still unsure which one to choose. knowing that, everyone is trying to win you over.

“so, prefect! tell me, which dorm would you like to move to?”

you froze up. you have to make the decision now? “w-way to put me on the spot..” you muttered under your breath, nervously looking at crowley who was expecting an answer. you like all the dorms! how are you supposed to choose just one?

“i’ll go with… heartslabyul? no, no, scarabia! wait, scratch that, i’ll move to pomefi—”

crowley put a hand in front of you, stopping you from speaking any further. “it seems to me that you’re unsure, but it’s no problem! because i’m so very kind, i will give you as much time as you need to consider.”

“thank you, i’ll be thinking things over!” you waved before exiting his office. the door closed and crowley grinned, spinning around in his chair and rubbing his hands together.

“and i will be informing all your little friends that you’re still uncertain on which dorm to move to— a headmaster must keep himself entertained somehow!”

heartslabyul

riddle is stressed, brainstorming different ways to convince you to come. he totally might just make a powerpoint presentation on why heartslabyul is the ideal dorm to be in, which is gold.

cater is just acting like he always does. he feels no need to do anything extra, isn’t he charming enough as is to bring you to heartslabyul? besides, everyone else doing the most. look at them!

ace “you and me are best friends” trappola. he absolutely exploits the fact that he’s one of the closest people to you, if not the closest. he bugs you about it so much though, it’s kinda becoming counterproductive. not that he realizes it.

like most other times, deuce is dragged into ace’s scheme. and he totally buys that it’ll work too! they have the same logic of “we’re best friends, so they’ll choose us” and they’re gonna die on that hill. of course, until it comes out that you don’t choose them.

trey’s just caught up in the mess. he’s said “riddle, calm down”, “ace, leave them alone— you too, deuce”, and “thank god you’re so chill, cater” so many times.

savanaclaw

leona doesn’t put in a lot of effort— he’s already certain you’re gonna choose his dorm. he’s not overbearing in the slightest, you’re given a lot of free rein, and though other dorm members can be pretty combative, he’ll drive ‘em away if they try to mess with you. it just makes sense that you’d pick them.

ruggie has nowhere near as much confidence as leona does about this, so he’s going overboard with giving you gifts, doing little acts of service for you, buttering you up with praise, anything that might make you gravitate towards picking savanaclaw.

as per ruggie’s request, jack is trying to act sweeter than he normally is. keyword is trying. but he’s struggling real hard— it’s way too embarrassing for him. he just ends up acting like the regular old him. (but the guy is just so likeable, it’s fine.)

octavinelle

persuasion? it’s azul’s time to shine. he’s a master at this stuff, but there’s one mistake he’s making— he’s being so damn persistent and borderline annoying about it! the number one way to drive away customers! unless you’re a fan of that kind of clingy behavior.

but you think it’s hard to catch a break from azul? pfft, he’s got nothing on floyd. there’s hardly any breathing room with him, literally and figuratively. he’s squeezing you nearly every second he’s with you and he’s squeezing hard. you think you’ll have to get your ribs checked to make sure none of them are cracked.

jade just watches from the sidelines. he’s restraining himself from laughing as he sees azul trailing after you as you desperately try to shake him off or floyd tackling you to the ground. when you’re tired of their antics and manage to get away, he’ll pour you a cup of tea (on the house btw), asking if you’re alright. it feels as though he’s octavinelle’s only hope.

scarabia

kalim is basically like, “i don’t wanna sway your opinion, BUT—” he’ll tell you the most amazing things about living in scarabia and how cool the dorm and their members are with the biggest grin on his face. he hypes it up so much it’s sounding like the perfect place.

there’s not a lot left for jamil to do is doing since kalim’s doing pretty much all the work. just to pull you in a little closer though, he’ll flash you a pretty smile and give you more treats (baked lovingly by him) during the day, sometimes reminding you that you could have his cooking every day if you lived at scarabia.

pomefiore

now, vil is sure you already have your sights set on pomefiore— but he is not going take any chances! so he sends rook and epel to spend some time with you. or in other words, advertise their dorm. he’s expecting to see you with luggage soon, asking where their spare room is.

rook is having a field day, he’s probably having the most fun out of everyone here. he’s reciting poems he wrote just for the occasion and practically throwing flower bouquets at you, all while epel…

epel is just chilling. he thinks rook will take care of everything, but no. he freezes up when told by rook to “tell the prefect what you have to offer!” and his brain malfunctions as he tries to put together a poetic sentence. all that came out was, “i’ll.. cut apple slices for you..?” not quite what rook had in mind, but it’s beautiful in it’s own way.

ignihyde

idia is extremely anxious— he wants you to pick his dorm, but has no idea how to convince you into doing it. or even how to make his dorm look like an appealing place to be. he feels like the greatness of his dorm pales in comparison to the other ones, so he kinda just hopes a miracle will happen and you’ll choose ignihyde.

diasomnia

oh, malleus is dead set on having you in diasomnia, you have no idea— he’s pulling out all the stops, pulling so many strings. wins “the most desperate” trophy by a landslide. you just can’t tell because externally he seems so nonchalant. every time he thinks you’re gravitating towards another dorm, he’ll up his game.

everyone’s trying so hard, it’s amusing, lilia thinks. it all looked like a ton of fun, so of course he was gonna hop onto the “winning you over” bandwagon! he’ll recount all the fun stories he and his dorm mates have had at diasomnia! such as studying gargoyles, and training, and the horrific yet oddly comedic injuries had during training… you question if lilia is throwing you off on purpose.

sebek is bugging you whenever he gets the chance, boasting about his dorm. diasomnia is the best dorm all around! not only do you have the pleasure of worshipping the young lord, there’s plenty of fun things to do— don’t mind the dark, intimidating atmosphere! now, why don’t you just go and tell the headmaster your choice already?

silver honestly doesn’t know what he’s doing, he’s just goin’ with the flow. when sebek sent him after you, it was a bit awkward. he just said, “you can protect malleus with us and take naps with me :)” and called it a day.

you let out a groan as you slumped on top of your bed, grim following after you.

“these guys have been draggin’ you all around! they’re treatin’ this like war!”

“no kidding.” you sighed, turning over on your back. “crowley just had to tell them, didn’t he? now they’re all trying so hard, it’s just making deciding on only one of them more difficult. i don’t wanna hurt any feelings… should i just eeny-meeny-miny-moe it?”

Epel just needs a break now and again. The skincare routine, intonation and vocabulary training, posture correction, calories check…everything is little too much for today. 

He honestly just wanted a rest in the courtyard before Vil figured out he’s skipping out on his lessons. Which is how you found the lavender-haired freshman laying behind the bushes. 

“So, how long are you planning on hiding?” You asked him with a cheeky grin Epel doesn’t appreciate

“When I’m good and ready” or caught. Epel whispered those last words under his breath as he guessed that Vil had already noticed his absence and was looking for him or had ordered Rook to bring him back.

Epel cursed as he heard the hunter’s call and in hurried desperation, pulled you down with him as he rolled into the bushes. He didn’t realized how he pinned you down as he peered out through the gaps of the leaves trying to see if Pomefiore’s vice housewarden was out of sight. 

He only realized his position when he heard a shaky tone whisper his name. 

He looked down to see you looking at him, surprised and flustered. He felt a rush of adrenaline as he assessed his situation. His arms and legs caged you underneath him, and the low height of the bushes forced him on his elbows and knees to avoid peaking out from the foliage, so your bodies were so close that he swore he could feel your heartbeat (which he noticed were quite fast) on his own. 

He’s been trying for so long to make the first move on you but now that he had you so close to him, he’s blanking on his next move. He’s wondering what would Leona do in this situation? Heck, what would Vil do? 

Epel was so nervous that he didn’t notice your own mental battle as you decided what you should do. You were fidgeting with your hands whether you should push Epel away or if you should pull him by his cute little bowtie. Finally you decided to shoot your shot, reaching out to touch the lapels of Epel’s school jacket, gently pulling the flustered freshman towards you. 

Taking the hint, Epel started to lower himself as he watched your expression for any last minute second thoughts or discomfort. You showed none. 

Too bad that’s as far as he got as reality smacked him in the face with a burst of light shining through a sudden gap of the leaves being pushed away. 

“Beaute! A beautiful embrace between two young lovers, intertwined like vines of the foliage that hides their rendezvous from the eyes of their peers.” 

Rook’s sudden intrusion forced the two of you back to your senses as you and Epel scrambled out from each other’s arms, looking away in embarrassment. 

Perhaps because Rook senses the awkwardness, Rook reached for Epel and pulled him to walk with him towards the Mirror Chambers to head back to the Pomefiore dorm. 

“I sincerely apologize, young freshman. But, our esteemed Housewarden is awaiting our presence as to begin your daily lessons” 

Epel didn’t grumble or sigh under his breath at that like he usually would. Instead, his thoughts were swirling around the last few minutes with you. He’s stunned and honestly a little giddy over the positive step in his relationship. You reached for him, right? That means you, his crush, want something more with him, right? 

Epel braved a glimpse behind him and noticed you fanning yourself to cool your warm face. He felt his ego swelled at the notion that he made you that way. 

He promised to himself that he’ll be the one to make the first move next time. 

when he saved you during Basketball Club 

Basketball was one of the few aspects of Jami's life that doesn’t revolve around Kalim or his duties as the servant of the Asim family so he assumed that he could have some time away from his responsibilities. Too bad that’s not the case when Floyd, the wishy-washy eel merman and Ace, the scheming slacker are his clubmates. Whenever one or both of them are here, there’s always a possibility of something that is bound to give Jamil a headache. 

Today was a little different however, when Ace decided to invite you to watch the club activities. Regardless how quiet or chaotic you are, Jamil would much rather deal with you than the worrisome Floyd and no, it is not because he finds you charming or attractive in any way. He swears it’s not that…not at all. 

You sat on the side benches, watching and sometimes giving encouraging hollers to your friends, including him which certainly boosts the morale of the club members. Almost unfortunately so as Floyd started getting too into his slam dunks. In his manic glee, the eel merman wanted to see if he could slam the ring hard enough to break it. 

Despite everyone’s pleas not to do so, Floyd went for it and slammed the basketball hard, succeeding in bringing the ring down along with the ball. The rest of the team ran from the hoop as the ball that was still stuck in the net of the hoop bounced towards you, bringing the ring with it. 

With quick reflexes, Jamil dove towards you to push you away from the ball’s path. The Scarabia student covered you as the both of you got on the ground, the basketball safely bouncing away from the two of you. 

Recovering from the fall, Jamil raised his head to survey the damage. It looks like the ball lost its momentum and is now rolling to a stop somewhere far from him. He sighed a breath of exhausted relief and looked down to ask if you’re alright. 

Still a bit shaky, you answered back with affirmation as you loosen the tight grip you just realized you had on Jamil as you must have wrapped your arms around his neck when he reached for you. To be fair, Jamil also just realized he had placed one of his hands behind your head, worried you might hurt yourself when diving to the floor. 

The both of you didn’t say anything else, lost in each other’s presence as you both wondered what’s the best course of action. Jamil is a tactful man but even he can be confused as to what to do. He searched you for a clue as to what you’re thinking. Were you uncomfortable? Scared? Maybe happy? 

“Floyd, this is why we said stop. Now how are we gonna play?” Ace complained to the tall Octavinelle student who responded with a frown

“I wanna see if I can, so I did it. You got a problem with that, Crabby?” Floyd said, showing off a glimpse of his sharp teeth in intimidation “We can talk it over if ya want. Come over here” 

“Nope. No thanks!” Typical Ace, running away after running his mouth but Floyd is unfortunately a chaser. 

Jamil sighed, getting to his feet then helping you onto yours. He weighed in the pros and cons of intervening before deciding to do so, in fear Floyd may break more things if left alone. Before he did, he took a quick glance at you and his keen eyes caught something rather pleasant. 

You were biting your lip.  

when he accidentally bumped into you 

Jack Howl is an honest student. He does his best in school and he makes an effort to not miss a class if he can help it. Except one day, that may not be the case. 

Jack was assisting his senior Ruggie in convincing Leona to attend one of his classes. He already missed too many classes that week and Professor Crewel was scarily serious that the lion beastman attend his class as his grades depend on this particular attendance. Worried, Jack had offered to literally carry Leona to his class which offended Savanaclaw’s Housewarden enough to walk on his own, angrily declaring that no one is going to carry him like some sack of potatoes. 

But now, Jack was almost late to his own class which explained his long steps and quick walking as running in the halls was prohibited. In his haste, he didn’t consider looking ahead as he rounded a corner which ultimately caused his collision with another student. 

Jack was young but he was still a bulky beastman. A collision with him would mostly end badly for the other party which is why with Jack’s build and strength, pushed the other student backwards onto the floor with Jack following suit. Thankfully, Jack managed to catch himself before he reached the floor, softening his landing and using his arms to avoid crushing anyone. 

“Ah, sorry-“ Jack started to apologize before he looked and realized it was you. You were also in a hurry to your class and the last thing you expected was to bump into what you initially thought to be a firm but surprisingly soft wall. 

“I’m sorry, Jack!” You apologized as well with a look of worry. “I should have looked where I was going. Are you ok?” 

But Jack didn’t respond. He was slowly working his feelings whenever he’s near you. He noticed that his tail starts to wag excitedly around you which he curses his obvious joy he feels in your presence. Thankfully you haven’t realized or you weren’t aware what his tail wagging means. 

That may change though as you spoke once more, “Umm Jack. Your tail is tickling me” 

Jack’s ears perked up and he looked behind him and to his horror, he watched his tail whip about, occasionally brushing against your legs that were under Jack’s. The soft fur was tickling your legs which made you reflexively move away but being under Jack meant you accidentally bump into the beastman’s thighs, which definitely made him flinch. 

Mortified, Jack scrambled hastily off you but still offered to pull you up which you accepted. After a quick look to see you’re ok, the white-haired student gave a quick nod before running towards the direction of his class, school rules be damned. 

You were left in the dust but you didn’t try to stop Jack. Especially since you needed to head to your class as well. With that, you turned to walk towards your destination but with a shy but satisfied smile on your lips. Turns out what Ace and Deuce told you about Jack’s tail was true after all. 

when blocking others from you 

It was not a secret that the school cafeteria was filled with delicious meals and treats for the students in NRC. Considering the rich, the powerful, and actual members of royalty were attending here, the school can’t afford to serve anything else but the best and finest lest they want to hear complaints. 

Still, that doesn’t mean there’s enough to go around. The cafeteria works on a first-come, first-serve basis where you gotta be there quick if you want what you want for lunch, especially when there’s something particularly rare on the menu. 

Which is why one day there was a scrambling line of hungry and greedy students who were on the brink of starting a fist fight for a special limited edition sandwich made by the finest and rarest of ingredients. Grim and Ace in particular were hankering for a taste of the supposedly grand sandwich so you, Grim, Ace, and Deuce were quick to get in line for the chance of such a treat. 

The crowd was getting restless. Students were pushing and yelling, agitated over so-called line cutters or people pushing each other to accelerate the pace. You could handle yourself well enough but a push too far from these relentless students could send anyone to the wall at this point. 

And luck would have it, a student was aggressively pushed back which in turn pushed you out from the line and back against a wall near the food line. You groaned over the slight pain coursing your back before seeing the back of another student coming your way. 

Before you could brace yourself, a strong arm came between you and the incoming student, effectively blocking the impact from you. You looked to see Deuce’s body protectively covering you as he placed his other hand against the wall near your head, glaring at the student who came flying towards you. 

“Watch it, buddy” Deuce said, his delinquent side peeking out as he gave the student a nasty warning stare. The student walked away, grumbling how it wasn’t like he wanted to get flung around like that and returned back to the line. 

Ignoring him, Deuce turned to look back at you with worry. “Are you ok?” His voice was nothing like the gruff tone mere seconds ago but instead a sweet voice of concern which had you more flustered than before. Not trusting your voice, you nodded your head. 

But Deuce wasn’t too convinced, he was worried that the slam might cause a bruise on where you landed. He cautiously moved his hand to the side of your head, gently touching you as he tried to feel for something, perhaps a bump or some blood. “You gotta tell me if you’re hurt, ok? A hit like that can do some serious damage” 

As sweet as Deuce was, you couldn’t pay attention to his words right now. Not when he’s caressing your head so softly like that, as though you’re a fragile baby chick in his hands. He was so oblivious to his effects on you that you curse him for his obliviousness but at the same time, you’re relieved he can’t tell how nervous he’s making you. 

“Yo Henchhuman, Deuce!” Grim’s voice called you and Deuce out from your own little world as the cat-like creature ran to you. “We got the yummy sandwich! Let’s hurry and find a seat” 

“What happened to you guys?” Ace questioned with a suspicious quirk of his brow, as he noticed the closeness of you two. 

“Some jerk pushed Prefect into the wall, and then nearly crushed the two of us,” Deuce angrily explained. “Looks like we’re good, though” 

“Well then, if nothing’s wrong then let’s find a spot to eat. I’m starving!” Grim already started walking with Deuce already following to make sure he doesn’t crash into somebody with his small body. You and Ace followed soon behind but yours and his attention were somewhere else. Ace watched you with mischievous curiosity, dying to interrogate you on the details Deuce left out in his story, and you looked anywhere but the red-haired freshman as you already knew what he’s thinking about.

When Ace likes you, there’s a lot of back and forth banter and teasing between the two of you. He’s a bit mean, but he knows (or at least, he hopes he knows) that you don’t take it to heart. He likes to talk a big game but Ace is kind of hopeless when it comes to romancing someone. Such a showoff for you.

Because your clubs meet on different days, Ace often bugs you to come to practices. Most times you say no since you use your free time to catch up on studying or to do preparation for your next club meeting, but today’s different and you take up Ace’s offer to watch practice.

There’s a practice game going on when you enter the gym, shoes squeaking against the polished wood floors. Jamil and Ace drive down the court, shouting and dribbling. As you sit down in the bleachers, you watch Jamil pass the ball to Ace, who notices you out of the corner of his eye. He bounces the ball twice and says, “This one’s for you!” Without even looking at you, you know who he’s talking to.

It’s also at the exact moment that Floyd chooses to take the game seriously, crouching down into a defensive position from his previously lazy stand, eyes gleaming with mischief. Ace aims and shoots and the ball, predictably, is blocked when Floyd jumps up.

“Too bad, crabby,” he jeers and Ace scowls at him. Jamil looks exasperated as he throws a look at you that tells you to fix whatever you started.

“Don’t worry, Ace,” you yell. “You’re always a winner in my heart!”

When Deuce realizes that he likes you as more than a friend, he stops being able to function normally around you. He’s dropping things left and right, stuttering and tripping over most of the things he says to you, and he’s some shade of pink constantly.

Deuce never wished for the ground to swallow him whole more than this moment. He’s standing, frozen, in horror, staring at the tea that drips down the front of your white uniform shirt. Now, this problem is two-fold; one, that’s Riddle tea — or, it was — and Deuce’s sure Riddle’s going to have it out for him, and two, he spilled it on you, the person he likes so much and just can’t seem to do anything right around.

Deuce scrambles to get napkins, the force of his pulling causing the container to topple off the table and skitter across the dorm floor.

“Hey, Deuce,” you say and he steels himself for your ire, for you to tell him you never want to ever talk to him, look at him, or breathe the same air as him. It never comes and instead you smile gently and say, “It’s okay, it’s laundry day tomorrow anyways.”

“I’m really sorry!” he finally blurts out.

“It’s seriously okay,” you say. Then, you add, “Let’s brew another pot before Riddle notices.”

“Notice what, exactly?” Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Deuce, however, doesn’t feel the impending doom he expected. All he can focus on is the little wink you give him and his face blooms a bright pink.

Because beastmen usually have one partner they’re with for their whole lives, Jack is very discerning about crushes so if he likes you, you’re definitely a special person. Jack tries his best to act casually around you but the excited twitch of his ear and the rapid tail wagging is a dead giveaway. Plus, he puts in a little more effort into whatever he’s doing when you’re around (like Ace, he’s a big showoff around you).

“Are you sure you’re okay with carrying all that?” you ask Jack as the two of you make your way to class. He nods, head still visible over the mountain of boxes. You were running an errand for the librarian when Jack found you struggling to balance the massive pile, swiftly moving to take the entire stack from you.

You have to walk up five flights of stairs to bring the books to the correct section, and Jack does so with ease, the two of you chatting on your way up. You ask about his siblings, watching fondly as he perks up. He asks about your parents and how your grandmother’s health is. You’re surprised he remembers.

“Okay, you can put them down there,” you say, pointing at a table and Jack sets them down.

“Need my help with anything else,” Jack asks, trying his best to subtly puff out his chest.

You consider it for a moment and say, “Yeah, I could use your height.”

Jack resists the urge of his inner wolf to howl proudly, but his wagging tail give everything away. 

epel felmier

Epel can’t decide what approach to take with you, if he wants to try to show you his manliness or if he wants to use his cute charm to win you over. He shows a very keen interest in things that you like — he watches shows and reads books that you like so you can talk about them together and he practices activities that you like so he can do them together.

Epel clutches the novel close to his chest, scanning the crowded cafeteria for you. He bristles when some Savanclaw meathead brushes past him roughly, scoffing like it was Epel’s fault. Epel rolls his eyes, glancing down at the book in hand. It’s over five-hundred pages and between school work and Spelldrive practice, it’s a miracle he finished it so quickly. That’s Pomefiore for you, tenacious to the end.

He finds you as you come in with some of your friends and darts for you. He calls your name and you wave at him. “Hey!” You peel off from your group and approach him, smiling widely.

You notice the book in his hand and gasp, “Is that the new book in the Paladin’s Sword series?”

“Yeah!” Epel leaves through the pages and says, “I really enjoy them!”

“Me too!” You ask him, “Have you seen the movies?”

Epel considers lying (he hadn’t lied about liking the books, he did wind up actually enjoying the series) but he shakes his head. You nod sagely and say, “Let’s watch them together sometime then!”

Epel’s heart skips a beat.

sebek zigvolt

Sebek goes to Lilia for advice on what to do about a crush, and given that Lilia is centuries old, the advice is a little old-fashioned. Sebek walks you to classes and brings you bouquets and gives you secret admirer notes that are a little clumsy and awkward, but so Sebek that it’s endearing.

Sebek watches anxiously out of the corner of his eye as you slide an eggshell white envelope out from your textbook. Ace and Deuce “ooh” and “ahh” and tease you over it, Deuce suggesting, “Maybe it’s a secret admirer.”

Ace shakes his head. “Who’d like this one?”

Sebek’s eyes narrow. How dare Ace believe that you were undeserving of affection? Didn’t he know that you were so special and incredible, second in Sebek’s heart only to Malleus? The audacity! How dare he?

Deuce snickers, “Stranger things have happened.”

That’s when Sebek slams his hands down on the desk in front of him and shouts, “HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO THEM THAT WAY, HUMANS? DON’T YOU KNOW THAT THERE’S ONLY ONE BEING ALIVE MORE SPECTACULAR THAN THEM — THE YOUNG MASTER HIMSELF!”

Well, that’s certainly not how he wanted to confess to you, and his heart sinks to his stomach at the deafening silence in the room. When he glances at you, you’re beaming, and his heart is afloat once more.

baking will always be TREY CLOVER’S speciality. he goes along the flow, waiting to get signals from you. how does he confess? he confessed by leaving a box of homemade truffles on your bed, a sticky note attached to it. “i like you, [name]. be mine? yes or no?” you couldn’t help but swoon, a delicate hue decorating your face. you took out your phone and ticked ‘yes’ on the paper, sending a picture of the truffles and note you received with the answer.

CATER DIAMOND confesses through text. although he feels like it’s one-sided, he couldn’t help but notice the mixed signals you give him. do you like him or not?! so one day, he texted you out of the blue “i like you! no— i love you!”. you just got out of the shower and was drying your hair before receiving a notification from cater. a soft smile appeared on your lips as you texted back at him, “i love you too. where do you want to meet up? <3 :)”

it’ll take a millenia to get ACE TRAPPOLA to admit his feelings for you. nah, he likes you, but not like that. right? he is so stubborn. literally everybody can see the way he flutters his eyelashes at you 🙄 though one fateful night, the both of you were stargazing— you rambling your thoughts away. “i like to travel” “i like you.” silence overlapped the atmosphere before you looked at him, confused. “you like me?” he realized he couldn’t sugarcoat it anymore. “you’re an idiot— of course i like you. you’re so smart yet so dumb AND dense!”

DEUCE SPADE is so conflicted. should he confess or should he not? what happens if he ruins your friendship? agh, it’s so frustrating! he just wants to hold your face and kiss every part of your features! why must you be so complicated? he asks his mother, now this is where it led him. deuce at your doorstep, holding a bouquet of flowers while wearing a suit with his hair slicked back and a nervous smile. “deuce?” you stared at him then at the flowers. “[name], i like— no, i love you a lot! will you go out with me?” he trembles.

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR is too lazy to set up a whole ass plan for this. yeah, he likes you, he admits— but he’s just gonna go with the flow, relaxing while letting fate do this for him. it’s obvious to everyone that this lion has the feels for you— i mean... he only uses you (and only you) as a pillow, cuddle buddy AND he lets you scratch his ears?? fuck yeah he likes u. if you haven’t taken the hint, you’re either really dense or really dumb. “leona, do you like me?” he snuggles into your shoulder and growls. “you just noticed?”

RUGGIE BUCCHI honestly doesn’t know what to do. i mean... he does like you, but he doesn’t know how to approach you. screw that, he’s 100% sure he’s in love with you. he isn’t an expert in the romance field, what do you expect? so, there’s only one way he confesses. asking you out on a date when he thought he was gonna die during leona’s overblot :D isn’t that so romantic? “hey prefect, if we survive this, wanna go out?” “ruggie what the fuck”

what the hell is that. JACK HOWL is the dense one here, not you. yes, his heart beats at an abnormal pace whenever you’re near, yes he misses you whenever you are not near him but nah, he thinks that it’s normal for friends to feel that way. this fr made epel hit his head and tell him that no, it is not friendship. that’s legit a crush!! now that’s when he realized he likes you. yeah once he realizes he just goes up to you and says “prefect, i like you”

AZUL ASHENGROTTO plans literally everything out. unlike riddle, his doesn’t go as plan. everything went wrong and he is about to lose his absolute shit. why must he be so unlucky? jade is putting his hand on floyd’s mouth so he doesn’t burst out laughing. just as he was about to ask you to meet him, the first years dragged you away to create another batch of chaos that are legit nightmare fuel. now at the end of the day, he’s sick of everything and with a fake smile, drags you away from these goons you call friends. “this took me all day. i will not let them steal you away this time. i like you, prefect.”

the moment JADE LEECH realizes his feelings for you, his eyes would never leave your form. it becomes a whole ass mission to find out whether you like him back or not, and it wasn’t difficult for him to decipher your feelings. oh dear, what’s this? you’re getting flustered over simple things that he does. this truly amuses him, and he enjoys every second of it. he holds your hand and gave a gentle kiss on top of it, a teasing grin on his face. “prefect, would you be mine?” JADE>>>>

FLOYD LEECH is a pain in the ass. once he realizes that he’s in love with you, he’s glued to your hip 24/7, it’s not even funny. he always say “i love you”. those words are always leaving his mouth. you might take it as a joke, but he is not joking at all. now, on a particular day, he wasn’t feeling it. so you know what he did? “floyd?” he kabedon’d you. “listen, shrimpy! i’m sick of you thinking that everything’s a joke! do you want me to squeeze you as hard as i can so that you know that i’m in love with you?”

KALIM AL-ASIM is trying his best, okay? jamil was the one who made him realize that he was in fact, in love with you. when found out, he was dying to tell you his feelings. so, the only solution to that is *drum roll* confessing his undying feelings for you! now how did he confess? inviting you on a carpet ride (pretty cliché, but i agree w/ the fandom) and showing you the true beauty of this world. that moment he realized, nothing could compare to your beauty. “i love you, prefect! i’m falling harder each day!”

love who? yeah, JAMIL VIPER is not confident enough to confess. he believes that you deserve someone better, someone like kalim, not a servant like him. although you like him a lot and he is aware, he couldn’t bring himself to confess. i strongly believe that jamil would try to make you hate him so that you wouldn’t get hurt by him. during his overblot, he banished everyone from scarabia except for you— who he kept by his side. that is when you found out what he actually felt for you. “don’t you dare leave me. i have fallen for you, and you will stay by my side forever— i’ll make sure of it.”

now, VIL SCHOENHEIT couldn’t believe that he would fall for a rotten potato like you! what spell did you cast on him, oh dear prefect? you’ve got him wrapped around your finger like a thread. he is definitely one of the romantic types, preferring to confess face to face. “potato, i can’t help but notice how wonderful you look today.” thanks for calling me a potato, vil. it’s highly unlikely for him to confess, so you’re gonna confess first. then, he would ask you to meet him at pomefiore, he told you to ‘dress nicely’. “finally arrived, prefect? i’ve made reservations, just you and me.”

ROOK HUNT is folding for you. he would appear during the most random times, confessing his undying love for you through poems. “oh, mon trésor—” “rook we are literally about to die” honestly, everyone questions your sanity. he follows you everywhere, sometimes it gets on your nerves. so one day, while sitting under a tree, an arrow was shot right beside you. “I love you, mon trésor. will you do the honours of being mine?” you could only stare at the paper in your hands. what’s your answer, prefect?

believe it or not, EPEL FELMIER would rather dive off a cliff than admit that he wrote love letters for you. love letters? haha what’s that? he’s so in love with you, i’m not joking. he definitely imagine scenarios of him protecting you (prove me wrong LOL). although he is very nervous to confess to you, he needs to man up for the love of his life! and when he gets in front of you to confess, he wastes no time to tell you what he feels... in great detail. this is honestly a great view, seeing epel all flustered and ready to be teased by you and his friends.

IDIA would be caught dead before confessing to you. nothing, absolutely nothing will make him confess to you. so, you will be the one to confess to this guy. he is too nervous for his own good, and would rather die than go through rejection by his long-time crush, aka you. although ortho knows that you like his brother back, idia can't help but feel his anxiety rise each time he feels like confessing. so he goes nope. i'm good 👍. so the big question is, will YOU confess?

it is clear to everyone that MALLEUS DRACONIA has fallen head over heels for you. just the mere mention of your name has got him smiling and feeling all giddy. the confession happened during a night walk with him, and as usual, he can't help but admire you. “child of man, i have something to say.” you turned to look at him and noticed how gentle he looked at you. "what is it, tsunotarou?" he gently cupped your cheek and confessed his undying love for you. his eyes would glimmer with delight once he finishes.

LILIA VANROUGE prefers traditional ways of confessing. he is an old man after all. he tends to scare you a lot just to show that he cares for you. he literally confessed like this: lilia was upside down when he spooked you. with a grin, he handed you a letter that smelled just like him. it makes you think, did he spray his perfume on this letter or something? the envelope itself was very pleasing to look at, a beautiful colour of beige and rose gold wax seal. open it, prefect! what was contained either made your heart flutter or not.

SILVER prefers simple ways to confess. of course, he asks lilia for help. while he had his head in your lap, you placed a flower crown on his head, making him stir awake. “did i wake you, silver? i’m sorry.” his lips curled into a gentle smile, pleasured to wake up by seeing your face. you could only look at his delicate features that were staring up at you. silver closed his eyes to continue his slumber, but before that, he whispered a delicate “i love you.”

SEBEK ZIGVOLT simply yells out what he feels for you. it was quite an odd scenario, him holding on to your shoulders while his face flushed a red hue. the tips of his ears turned pink as he stared at your face, eyebrows furrowed. “sebek??” he gulped his fears away and took a deep breath before confessing his feelings for you. “human! how dare you make me feel such things? you make my heart flutter at each mention of your name, so tell me— what have you done?”

how they act when they miss you

Genre: fluff <3

Characters: first years (Ace, Deuce, Epel, Jack, and Sebek) x gn!reader PART 2

Scenario: you're away from NRC for a few weeks, and they have to find ways to get by until you return.

Notes: each can be taken as platonic or romantic! reader is the Prefect and the reason for the absence is up to your imagination :)

Ace Trappola ;

Let’s get this out of the way. Ace is not well.

In his eyes, you’re like the whole reason school is fun. So when you’re gone he’s sulking all day, sighing dramatically at the mere mention of your name. 

"Remember the Prefect? I wonder how they're doing these days *sniffle* I hope they haven't forgotten us..." (Definitely gets yelled at by Riddle for acting like you died.)

He'll start spamming you with messages. You thought you’d get a break from Ace? Silly Prefect, not if he has anything to do with it.

He'll text you pictures of the randomest things, tell you every insignificant detail of his day, and ask you bizarre questions, all in the hopes of getting as many replies back as possible.

When you do answer, he's smiling like an idiot, replying asap while you're active. He's happy that you're okay and making time for him.

Ace will need lots of cuddles and quality time when you're back. He will vehemently deny all allegations of his behavior, though. He did no such things, how could you believe that?

Deuce Spade ;

Deuce hides his feelings the best out of everyone, but you are on his mind constantly in the form of daydreams.

He's a bit quieter as a result. Usually you’re the one he’s replying to and speaking to the most, so when you’re not there he prefers to listen instead, picturing what you would be doing or saying.

If someone mentions you though, he’ll be quick to join the conversation.

Would be more involved in his dorm activities as well as track and field. It helps him stay distracted and gives him more time to think about you and what to text you later :')

Being the model student he now is, he'll copy a second set of notes for you so you won't be behind when you return. He'll even draw little pictures on them and leave helpful (and sometimes silly) comments for you. If you see a scribbled out "I miss you :/" or two... ignore it.

Stays cool and collected throughout your absence, in the end. The time without you makes him appreciate you more when you're back. Just promise him you won't leave again.

Epel Felmier ;

Progressively starts spiraling the longer you’re gone.

He calls you nightly for as long as you’re away. 

Goes out of his way to make plans or do interesting things just so he can have more to talk to you about when he calls. 

He’ll make you talk to him until he falls asleep because he finds he usually dreams of you when your voice is the last thing he hears.

Probably gets a bit more snappy, though. Usually you’re there to keep the peace within the group and prevent their schemes, but without you they start to lose it just a bit. Perhaps he’s hoping that if he does something really stupid you’ll come back faster.

It doesn’t work, obviously. You scold him over the phone instead.

And now he's carving your initials into apples aggressively and pouting. You made him more sad. How could you?

Epel is definitely a handful in your absence. Come back asap.

Jack Howl ;

Also doesn't make a big deal out of missing you.

He's very considerate of whatever your circumstances are for being absent, so he leaves you alone unless you text him first.

He'll reply instantly when you do message him, though. He even set a special alert noise for you :')

Definitely carries something of yours with him at all times, like a piece of jewelry or an accessory. He was a bit embarrassed to ask for it from you before you left, but the comfort it brings him makes him glad he did. He’s very sensitive to smells so this little piece of you keeps him from worrying too much while you’re away.

The cutest thing he does though? He listens to the music you like. When he's out on runs he'll have your playlist on shuffle, thinking about you until Leona tells him he's falling behind.

Overall handles it well. You wouldn't even know he missed you if he wasn't seeking you out more than usual after your return.

Sebek Zigvolt ;

Sebek is so good at hiding the fact that he misses you, that he almost fools himself.

Epel and Ace would no doubt tease him relentlessly if they found out, so he keeps quiet and focuses on his duty to Malleus. That's always supposed to be his focus anyway, no sweat.

But when he can get a quiet moment to himself? He’s somehow always going through pictures of you.

There’s a secret folder on his phone titled '🤦‍♂️' that is filled with dozens of pictures of you and him. They’re all selfies you dragged him into while he pretended he didn’t want to be in them, but when you’d sent them to him, he’d saved them all immediately. He’s made sure no one's seen it though, especially you.

(Besides Lilia who’d crept up on him and seen it once and was overjoyed. Sebek is still mortified.)

Occasionally, he’ll check in on you through text and send something like “Make sure you’ve eaten, human!” or an image of the other first-years with, “Why did you make me befriend them?”

Pull him aside and give him a hug when you get back, please. He's in denial but he'll appreciate it.
