Thinking if in s7 epidose 1, Chris was forshading just in part Eddie love life there are some points that are really interesting:
1) The first girl that Chris brings at home, eating pizza and playing videogames is Penny, a blonde girl that he met at math class (as Eddie told to Buck) and Eddie say that he doesn’t get if it was a date because it seems to him that they were just hanging out as two male friends do (👀👀). Even though from the scene we know Christopher and Penny are smiling so they both are enjoying this date. Even though Eddie can’t see it because he was behind them and watching them afar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, It's pretty obvious who they are referring to because videogames and pizza is what Buck, Eddie and Christopher did from the past 6 years. Penny is blonde as Buck and him and Eddie smiled everyday when they are with each other because they enjoy their time with each other
Tumblr media
The math class also is a methaphor because in the past seasons we saw that neither Eddie and Buck knows anything about math until Buck died and when he came back he knew all the answears and he was a jenious at math. That brought them to their first poker date night togheter as Chris and Penny dated because they met in math class. Even though neither of them knew it was a date
Tumblr media
Eddie watching Chris from afar it can be also a methaphor of the fact that now he can’t see what he have with Buck because he doesn’t think that what they do is romantic coded or anything but then Buck line came and it's very important because Buck is the first one who are saying that there is just ONE CASE where there's underlying sexual tension and Eddie face to that was speechless. Almost as he got what Buck said but he doesn’t want to think about it. So what Eddie did? He just change the subject
Tumblr media
Because if we think about it, in episode 5, Eddie didn’t think Buck and Tommy was interested in each other in a romantic way. Also, Eddie didn’t think Tommy was gay in the first place and it freak Eddie out a bit but then he just proceed to support his best friend because nothing will ever change his bond with Buck. As he tried to change the topic and talking about something else. But then at the bachelor party Eddie couldn’t hide his feelings and from his expression is pretty obvious is jealous of Tommy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what Eddie did in next episode? Instead of understand why he was a little mean to Tommy he put himself in an emotional cheating relantionship with a copy of his dead wife (💀💀). Again, he's trying not to think about it and putting that feeling away. Changing the subject
2) The second girl Chris was talking to, she was a black hair girl who we don't even know her name (👀👀). As we don't know Marisol last name. And the first thing we see about her is her jealous towards Penny because Chris was two timing her. As now Eddie is doing it to Marisol with Kim. And if Tim wasn’t jocking with the Vertigo post, we know Marisol (the nun) will break Eddie illusion to bring back Shanon on his life and of course they will break up in the end (😍🥳)
3) Buck talked with Christopher of why he was seeing more than one girl and how it was wrong for his sake. Christopher answer that he doesn’t care about them because he knows they will leave him in the end as his mom did. Eddie heard them and later he give his son the Shannon letter and with that. It seems Christopher have his closure with his mom (We don't know it yet until the last two episodes airs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, from Ryan interview we know Buck is going to meet Kim and I think if that's so. Then Buck would try to tell Eddie how it is wrong for his sake and his relantionship with the nun (lol) as he did for Christopher. But I think also, that as Christopher didn’t listen to him. Eddie won't listen to Buck either. Because Eddie is still missing Shannon in some ways and seeing her in Kim face made him again romanticed his marriage with her. When we know the memories he played weren’t happy ones but where we saw there were problem in their marriage. Problems in wich Shannon asked Eddie to divorce him before dying
Tumblr media
But as Christopher have found his way to close that chapter with the letter. Kim is the key to Eddie to have that closure with Shannon and realize why he can’t commit to any women he's been with or have what he though he had with Shannon. Because he have to go deep into himself and understand something he didn’t understand before (as his sexuality or his feelings for Buck)

Summoning lordbettany to ask if she remembers any other scenes where Ni is asleep (or just generally chilling in a horizontal way). So far I've got:
Mozart
the guy from Lady W whose name escapes me at this moment
Daniel in the 1899 storm ep, being all post-coitus
Richard in his depressed era aka my entire gothic romance moodboard
the very brief scene in Thirteen where he's sitting on the bed Thinking about Stuff
I feel like I'm missing some. This may or may not be related to me needing some bed-related Ni pics for my fic 🙏

Note: Danny Phantom spoilers, from last epidose
.
I don’t understand why people say it was bad. Like, it was perfect.
Other than one thing. WHY IN THE WORLD THEY WOULD MAKE A CHILD A PRESIDENT OF THE AMITY PARK.
Like, the danny phantom fandom website says the show’s timeline is same with the years the show continue which means Danny and his friend must be 17 or 18 when show ends which would be more great cuz it’d mean that a new adult is president.
But here we are. Only one year passed in the serie, (if you ask how the first epidose is prob at the start of 9th grade and it ended at the end of their summer. The whole s3 was at their summer. If you think a bit s3’s 1-9 epidoses probably were in one month and they probably made timeskip to end of the summer at s3e10 with that summer camp.) which means Tuck become president at age of 14-15.
Imagine your president is literally your classmate. Strange, isn’t it? I think it’d be A MUCH better if Tuck/Sam/Danny’s one of parents become president.
I have to say, I personally think it’d be so great if Maddie was president. It suits her.

Social gatherings are not your preferred activity. But this one is obligatory, and it threatens to ruin you. You are Karen Zhao, a senior in college who is home for winter break, and seeing your old high school friends for the first time in years. You are not ready, not even close, but perhaps you could make the best of it. Two endings, many paths to arrive there.
============= Other Info
New Year's Eve, 2019 is a Dendry* game, submitted to the 2022 Edition of the SpringThing. This game is a sequel to Pageant (review). *Autumn is also an unofficial maintainer of the Dendry format.
Status: Completed Genre: Dating-sim, Slice-of-life, LGBT
CW: social anxiety, panic attacks, depression, family conflict
============= Playthrough
First Played: June-2022 Last Played: 31-May-2023 Playtime: around 1h (1 full playthrough - 1 half-assed) Rating: 4 /5 Thoughts: A science-type forgets how to human, has a panic attack at a party. May or may not be fine at the end.
============= Review
Jumping a few years into the future of Pageant, Karen Zhao comes back, more anxious than ever, for a short evening, celebrating the turn of a new year*. Stuck in a house out of social obligation, Karen has the option to interact with a cast of familiar faces, go down memory lane, or hide from everyone as best she can to avoid starting a panic attack before the clock strikes twelve. How ever will she cope????? *and what 2020 brings... rolling eyes
Spoilers ahead. It is recommended to play the game first. The review is based on my understanding/reading of the story.
The one thing that I love about Autumn's games is how real the characters and their interactions feel. NYE19 is no different, continuing on the tradition of anxiety-inducing situation and self-deprecating humour bordering on self-loathing. But unlike its predecessor, Pageant, NYE19's tone translated less as slice-of-life-of-a-stressed-teenager-trying-to-make-it-through-the-semester-oh-god-is-she-having-a-panic-attack-again-just-kiss-her-you-dummy and more of this-is-what-a-college-student-forced-to-come-home-for-the-holidays-special-sitcom-epidose-feels-like. From the really awkward meetings with your old high-school friends (or did you date them? or were they crushes?), to the adults hounding you with questions about your future, or your family wanting to uphold a certain image around people. It's a party we've all been to, it's the kind we wish we didn't have to stay...
And Karen, our favourite anxious lesbian, does too. From the start, she warns the player she does not want to be here, really does not find having to engage in small talk (especially with people she's lost touch with), and actually wishes being anywhere but at this party. It is awkward to interact with people you knew (or more than knew) some years prior but with who you have lost contact (life...), finding how they have (not) changed, and how they've been fairing compared to you.
During the span of an evening, you meet (again) Emily, a trans woman (out of the closet then?) who helped you in Pageant to win (kinda) said pageant; Miri, your best-friend, who tagged along for the party because she did not want to be at her family's party* and became the social butterfly you could not be; and Aubrey, your high-school rival, who seems to still be doing just as well with her Harvard education, her Harvard boyfriend**, her probably-perfect-looking Harvard life... You also get to roam around the party daydreaming nihilisticly about the state of the world, hide in the basement to watch a MCU movie and be cringe to your brother, stuff yourself with food*** to temper with your imminent anxiety attack, play some mahjong and lose badly, hide in the bathroom and take selfies sending your into some self-loathing, play some games on your phone****... *the reason is pretty unclear, even with the option of confronting her. **who the fuck brings up the election topic on a New Year's party?!?!?! The gall of that man... ***which of course, I did... ****that one is hella meta, since you can play IF games AND a Pageant-like dating-sim
Whatever you do (especially your interactions), you are constantly reminded of your shortcomings from the past and how you let your anxiety cause the dwindling of your relationships. Your past haunts your every move and your every thoughts, and being in the presence of people from your past makes it all the worse for your mental being.
Half-way through the game, you sit down to have some dinner, forced at the kids-but-not-really-kids table where all your (former?) friends are interacting. It is very awkward, with Aubrey forcing everyone to introduce themselves as if they were having some sort of team-building meeting, her boyfriend forgetting about the No-No-Conversations (Politics-Religions...)... You can choose to participate in the conversation, eat, or listen, but no matter what happens, you will leave the table before the meal/conversation is over, leaving the party as well to go for a walk.
This is where things get interesting. Emily asks whether she can come along, and agreeing or not will give you very different outcomes. The latter will find you wallowing about your loneliness and how devoid of human connections your life is (much due to your own actions), while the former has a more hopeful and levelheaded conversation (leading possibly to a relationship...). With each still, and throughout the whole game, Karen goes on an introspection about the seemingly importance of human interaction, how easy it is to fuck up things, and the transactionality of relationships, all wrapped in a nihilistic and fatalistic bow (everything goes wrong, even if you do the right things).
Even if this sounds all depressing, it strangely is not. I found myself giggle at some passages*. The dry self-deprecating humour is honestly hilarious (especially the Narrator's comments). At any moment, I was expecting a laughing track to cue. Or maybe I was just playing this with a strange mood... * You have committed CRINGE. Kevin may not remember this, but you will. don't worry, game, I will remember...
The game is also very meta about what it is trying to convey. From playing a dating-sim game within an essentially dating-sim game, to the commentary on human interactions being comparable to dating-sims in the optimisation of [emotions/variables] to get the best possible outcome through a sequence of actions we hope is the correct one while we play a dating-sim where the sequence of choices can be optimised to get that "good ending", the story and the gameplay play quite interestingly on each other to get those points across.
Still, unlike other works from Autumn, while I enjoyed myself playing it, it didn't have the same impact on me. I didn't click as much with it as her other games, and felt a bit unsatisfactory? by the end of the playthroughs. The game has some strong moments, especially the part outside of the house, and some funny moments during the roaming around before dinner/before the countdown, but at other moments, it felt hollow. Maybe it is because of your limited agency in the way you interact with others or act, since Karen is an anxious and socially awkward person who has a hard time expressing her feelings and thoughts. Maybe it is because some of the characters you interact with and the way you defined your previous relationships don't feel as fleshed out (Miri and Aubrey comes to mind*, especially compared to Pageant or even Emily). Or maybe it is Karen's blasé look on dwindling and lost relationships that ticked me** that only allows her to have superficial contact with people (aside from Emily). Or maybe it is the more fragmented type of different gameplay/mechanics that didn't work as well as the Storylet format of Pageant***, or the more linear work of GG and the war. Or maybe because the end was a bit too abrupt... *I was wondering if you could choose to have had a relationship with either of those as in Pageant, but you can only with Emily **was it because the game called me out of doing the same as Karen did to some friends from school? Who knows... ***yes, it's bad to compare games that are inherently different...
There is a wonderful sentence from the post-mortem that really encapsulate the vibe of this game, and strangely reminds us of the hope Karen feels just before returning to the party... and this is where I will be ending this review: The past is inescapable, but the future is not entirely determinate.
There is still time...
Some loose points:
Dendry has some really interesting customisations, from the addition of backgrounds to extra assets in form of character portraits, putting the game in a strange text-only choice-based/visual novel limbo.
The conversation bits, especially the dinner between the gals, have such BPH vibes, which is not surprising, since his work is mentioned in the influence for this game. (with the character portraits style and the formatting of the dialogue with the colours (though the grey for Emily was a bit hard to read).
I really liked the inclusion of the Chinese characters in the dialogues in Chinese. This was only included on the first few lines in Pageant (continuing only in italics), but this really helped distinguished better the conversations in English and the ones in Chinese.
As with Pageant, some choices are worded in a way to form a full sentence or complete a thread of thoughts. I liked that.

Prince, 1.
Rasanya? Biasa saja ternyata.
Kalau ingin kemudahan, laluilah banyak kesulitan.
Mau pakai baju apa? Mau makan apa? Mau pakai motor atau bus saja? Mau duduk di mana? Mau berdiri atau tunggu bus selanjutnya? Mau hidup sama aku atau dia?

Finished the first episode of Dead Boy Detectives, my thoughts?
I n s u b s t a n t i a l
The epidose feels SO RUSHED and who gives a shit? Who gives a shit about a girl talking alone in the streets, who gives a shit about the parents, who gives a shit about anything.
Feels so, so rushed. There's barely any time to address any of the things happening. 5 seconds to talk about David, 5 seconds to care about the grieving parents, 5 seconds to explore the Which house. And of course nothing is addressed in serious or meaningful way.
Edwin died? 5 seconds. Take it or leave it. The fight with the Witch? We need to move on, 5 seconds and that's it.
Like seriously I get that being a pilot you need to do exposition and keep things started but come on, the episode in Doom Patrol was ONE EPISODE and did it pretty fine. This is THEIR series first episode and somehow if feels flimsier than the other one. Nothing has a meaningful impact. Just by showing me some insubstantial flashbacks of AN ADORABLE GIRL and some TEARS I'm not gonna feel moved by the mother's pain. And that's pretty bad because you want it to matter, you want the missing case to matter because that was the whole point. That they're here because they cared about a missing girl.
No one gives a damn, cham. Give the parents 5 seconds and move on. Give Crystal 5 seconds to shout about David and move on. Nothings is addressed with actual care but the show insists in HOW much you should care about them because they're gonna matter later. Probably.
Like Crystal memories, we saw barely any emotion. She didn't questioned it or said anything beyond "give 'em back! >:/". And that was it. Amazing.
Also the Witch is another fucking can of worms, innit? Hhashahsa. ARE YOU TELLING ME they went directly into a Witch's house? This is exactly what I mean about the poor exposition and the "show, don't tell". Edwin told a morbid story about a TERRIBLE WITCH but then, they went into the house hust like that. JUST LIKE THAT. No magic protections no magic boundaries, NOTHING.
Somehow this terrible Witch that we should care about because she's the deal at hand, the baddie of turn, the villain material who kidnapped a girl that she should care about (because she's a girl... and she's little... and that's it) has the most SAD and SLOPPY home defense ever hahsahsa. BUT YOU'RE RIGHT EDWIN, WITCHES ARE MONSTERS but hey what a fucking chance that you found the most pathetic one of them all. Did she did anything actually frightening? She paralysed and threatened a girl, and kidnapped another one. And... that's it.
Like I can gaslight myself into thinking "WELL, maybe she didn't have any protections because she was living her life in a quiet and nice neighborhood. No one suspects anything and there are no ghosts or other witches to watch out for, only common folks that represent no threat to me, an innocent lady" but that's A ME RAMBLE, the show didn't tell this! They probably didn't even think about it because whoooooooo careeeeeeeeeeeees!
She was quite a perv but nothing else. Do you see what I mean? SHE DID NOTHING than a normal perv wouldn't do. She was cunty (and that was nice) but then what? The most flimsiest bitch ever too because the ghost of a teenager possesed her with 0 problems ahshas. Her, an adult and apparently very VERY old witch taking in account the massive mountain of shoes. Our powerful and fearsome lady did some jokes and was possesed by the ghost of a teen just like that.
No one gives a shit, that's the veredict. Insubstantial. A lot of words about HOW IMPORTANT but then... nothing. Like seriously. They gave Charles' parents like 10 seconds to appear and nothing else. Take your first episode AND FOCUS IN DOING SOME GOOD EXPOSITION. I don't care about the Witch nor the girl or David. Take your FUCKING TIME and adress every character with genuine care. And I'm sure there's at least 1 episode focused in each one's backstory. I'm not talking about that.
I'm talking about giving an actual damn about what is happening. You need information from the parents of the missing girl? Go to their home and present them to us. Let me hear a sappy story from the mother, let me se some photos, let me care about this little girl and feel how heartbroken is this little family in this little town. Show me how the disappearance has consequences on them. I WANT TO CARE, BUT YOU NEED TO MAKE IT MATTER.
Then again this is the PILOT, I'm putting all my money in horse "Episode Two".

I started a podcast with an American friend. In every epidose I play her 6-8 songs by a rock or metal band that I love, we discuss, then we talk about her cats, and about books.
You can find us on Spotify, Amazon Music, Samsung Podcasts.
I feel pretty lucky to have a friend who will sit and listen to songs I've chosen specifically for her. Music is one of my main ways of connecting.
Episodes available: ep. 1 Sabbath, ep. 2 Zeppelin.
Upcoming episodes: In This Moment, Uriah Heep.
In the future: Deep Purple, Steve Vai, Boston, Free/Bad Company, Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, Motionless in White, Depeche Mode, Avatar...

As much as I love 9-1-1 and this epidose was percefction the consistency of staffing just annoys me.
So in season 1 they never mention it or seem understaffed but then add Eddie in season 2 as Buck's partner. Fine, I assume there was a spare spot for him and I am going to pretend they where legally allowed to work one down or a fill in staff was around. Then Ravi comes in and joins the crew but no one leaves and I mean his rookie year is up now so yeah he joins the full fledged crew. Then Lucy joing to replace Eddie which makes sense but when he comes back she just remains. Bobby, my man what is your staffing ratio? Am I just meant to believe that a whole bunch of people in the other truck that sometimes follow you and who mill around the firehouse never interacting with the core group (guess thier family adjacent?) are leaving sporadically? Or does Bobby just get to roster at will. Like he contacts Chief Alonzo and says sorry sir I need more money, you see we have added to our fire family again.

Did you watch ONE-TWO PUNCH?
I'm so interesting about Jungwoo revealed his priority that Doyoung do with him. Sometimes lots of fans think they're really close to eachother but ... just look at what jungwoo said?
PS. waiting for you to analyze this. I think there are many point that Jungwoo trying to tell us that he's not the real no.1
Tumblr media
I have. I actually even saved my commentary, that I initially wrote but decided not to post.
------
At the very beginning Jungwoo tried to mimic Haechan with "Doyoung-ah, come out!". Except he used "Kim Doyoung". But his bravado didn't last long, in the next sentence he shifted to "Doyoung-ie-hyung". Habits. Reminds me how Jaehyun had troubles calling Doyoung "Doyoung-ah' during ShowChamp times.
8:36 - The funniest part was when Doyoung stood on tip-toes to become higher than Jungwoo, such an "animalistic" way of dominance, heh. Don't you use your height on me, brat!
DoWoo work in unexpected way. Do remembers small grudges and reminds Woo about them, but Woo has a tough skin and just brushes small things off.
21:00 - That was so real in comparison to measured DoWoo's bickering, lol.
--------
To answer your question. Yes, "I'm on the second, no, even on the third place" was about Jae and Tae respectively. It was half-joke, half-statement.
DoWoo didn't have greeviences, they invented it for the show. Although I'd say Do's sentiment "you only find me when you need an advice/help, but not to have fun with" was real (but sad with no real grudge, just a fact).
The sentence "you (Doyoung) call me only to eat together" was more revealing. Remember how during the quarantine Do commented that he didn't see Woo for a couple of days (they lived in the same building back then, 5th and 10th floors).
DoWoo's exchange supported what was guessed before by me. Although Woo is Do's bias, he isn't in his inner circle. A new nuance is that Woo spends enough time with Yuta for Doyoung to list his name alongside Mark. Notice, that Jaehyun wasn't mentioned. There is no best bros JaeWoo in reality. Jaehyun should be even more boring than Doyoung to spend time with, heh.
Doyoung and Jungwoo have a good hyung-dongsaeng relationship. Close to a mentor-pupil. Doyoung forgives Haechan a lot, but he reminds Woo about the smallest things. In a passive-agressive manner (joking), but the desire to not let Woo get away with things is there. Basically, they always battle for dominance, Do wins because he is a hyung and he has an upper hand mentally (his experience and resilience with the idol work).
I'll tell one thing, but readers should read it without feelings. Many fans get on the fence about close friendships.
Firstly. In the second epidose it was revealed that Doyoung congratulates Kun with BD despite it being January 1st. Doyoung and Kun are not close, they are classic collegues. Kun can help Doyoung arrange a cover, but Doyoung doesn't visit him in dorms. Still, they used to work closely together, they are of the same age, they are friendly and belong to the same family. Therefore Doyoung remembers to congratulate him, while Jungwoo, who was taken care of by Kun in the past, and who goes to WayV dorms to play, doesn't. Doyoung is attentive like that.
Doyoung takes on "projects". For a period of time he pays newcomers or those members that need it special focused attention. When he thinks he is not needed anymore, he refocuses on other things or members. WinWin, Jungwoo, Johnny and Yuta are prime examples. Doyoung wrote homework in Korean for WW, explained how to order food, etc. WW found good friends in others soon, so Do never developed as strong an attachment to him as he did with Jeno or Mark. When WW is nearby, Do dotes on him, but it's Jae who is WW's friend, who keeps in touch.
Same with Jungwoo. Do paid him a lot of attention, he even roommed with him in US, because it was Woo's first trip abroad. However, once Woo became integrated into 127, he "was left" to Mark and Taeil. Doyoung renewed his focused attention after Woo's comeback since his hiatus, but only for some time.
People don't become best friends only because they spend a lot of time together. They become friends or comrades, but best friends need to click. Doyoung is boring for Jungwoo, Woo wants things his way and be entertained/played with. Do wants rest outside of working hours. So how can they become very close if Woo isn't interested in just spending time in each others space. And when there are so many other contestants, who usurp Do's "active hours" time (like Taeyong during practices).

Your dad thinks it's best for you to pay off the credit card that you just maxed out. Meaning, it’s time for you to finally get your very first job...at the mall. As a true blue spoiled daughter from a very rich family, what could possibly happen? Form a labour union and overthrow the oppressive government with 7 other underpaid and overworked guys??? Or maybe just form a bond with them and have the best time of your life?
PAIRING: bts x reader
GENRE: mall!au, lowkey a sitcom, fluff, a touch of angst, and a whole lot of pure crack
NOTES: You know how in most tv series there wouldn’t be a concrete linear storyline? Idrk the best way to explain this but like, there is definitely a main overarching plot but each episode has its own story and there would always be an indefinite time jump in between them. Almost like you can watch any random ep and everything would still make sense, Yeah, this series is going to be like that. Don’t expect that the next part would pick up exactly from where the last one ended.
This is also highkey inspired by the amazing tv series, 6teen. That shit was my jam during middle school and recently, it’s literally the only thing I’ve been watching. Btw, I didn't want to use real brand names (for legal reasons lol) so the shops that are used in this fic sound familiar but they are only (somewhat) inspired by them. Like, I know Ikea usually has its own place and if they are located in a mall, they're pretty small. So I took creative liberties with that. As always, enjoy and message me if you want to be added to the taglist!
