I want to hear more about your version of season 3 of HSMTMTS with the changes you made.

im just gonna list the things that are different cause a fair amount of things are the same, and i already explained most of what i would change for Carlos and Kourtney, so this is mostly going to be explaining what I changed for Nini, Lily, Seb, Big Red, and what takes the place of the love triangle i eradicated.

3x01: Nini and Lily are at camp and Nini is gay panicking about Gina, as they've become a lot closer since beauty and the beast and she started working with Jamie. Lily is at camp as well and is putting on a very saccharine sweet performance with Maddox but the other four girls are just soooooo over her bs. none of them were expecting her to be there, even Ricky is surprised lol. so during the opening Rily and Portwell are being all coupley and Carlos, Kourtney, Ashlyn, and Nini are hashtag over it. there are sneaky hints about a Maddox-Madison-Nini love triangle from the past few years that never actually gets explained until later. also there's a scene at the end where Seb and Big Red are playing video games in Red's basement and overall just being very cute.

3x02: Nini is having a chill ass morning by the lake and Maddox finds her working on a song. Nini tells Maddox she was invited to work on an ep with Jamie in LA but that she left her friends behind once for YAC and doesn't want to risk doing that again and it being the wrong choice, but Maddox is like "girl it's two weeks you'll see your friends again in the fall" and at some point in this episode she sings You Never Know. I think everything else in this ep is pretty much the same. Interspersed scenes of Big Red trying to teach Seb how to skateboard and failing miserably.

3x03: The Frozen cast list comes out: Gina is Anna, Kourtney is Elsa, Jet is Kristoff, Carlos is Hans, Ricky is Olaf, and Nini, Ashlyn, and Lily in various ensemble roles. One of Nini's roles is as the Queen (that's important later). Jet and Ricky go on a Just Bros Bonding Adventure because Ricky is pointedly avoiding Lily and Jet is pointedly avoiding Maddox. When EJ won't go to the shrine, Gina takes Nini to find it so she can ask why Nini's been acting so weird around her lately. When Nini won't say anything cause she's still not sure herself, so she finds Kourtney and tells her (and Carlos cause he just happens to be there and he clocks her almost immediately) everything that's going on. Also, Big Red and Seb break into East High and find a ghost.

3x04: So since Jet is Kristoff this time around, when he disappears and EJ fills in for him, he and Gina do WDYKAL. When Jet comes back, he bumps into Nini preparing to leave, and the two have a very weird moment. Jet returns and Val tells him to clean up his act, and he passes Gina on his way into the movie. Gina goes to ask if they can watch Camp Rock, and sees Nini getting the last of her things. Confronting her, Nini reveals she's leaving to work with Jamie and that she can't stay at camp while she's so confused. Gina is lost and Nini tries her best to say what she's feeling without actually up and saying it, y'know? but Gina is way smarter than anyone likes to give her credit for ofc and says she wishes Nini didn't feel like she has to run away from herself. Cue, you guessed it, GINI GOTTA GO MY OWN WAY!!!! Oh, and Big Red and Seb begin investigating who could be haunting East.

3x05: So after Nini leaves, Lily is bumped up to the role of the Queen, and she continues to suck up to Kourtney and in trying to make them trust each other, she reveals that she stole Ricky's beast harness. In rehearsal, Gina and Carlos do LIAOD, but Carlos starts to feel sick and he ignores both Ricky and Gina asking him what's wrong. Gina expresses to Kourtney that the people she cares about the most (EJ, Carlos, Nini) keep ignoring her genuine concern, and the two bond. Kourtney sings "Monster" in rehearsal and then runs off, with Ricky running after her, and the two reconcile, while Gina goes after Carlos and says that she's not gonna force him to tell her what's going on but that she is there for him should he need it. Kourtney tells Ricky that Lily stole his harness, and he breaks up with her. That night, it's not an official campfire, but the Wildcats make one of their own and sing "This is Our Song" together. Meanwhile, Seb and Big Red plan a stakeout at EHS.

3x06: Mainly keeping the same plot as the original RCOSL episode, but instead of WDYKAL it's Carlos doing "Hans of the Southern Isles" and then he almost runs away again but then he just goes and sits with his friends and is like. Scarily quiet. We see him stretching a lot. And Seb and Big Red lock themselves in the bomb shelter and FaceTime Nini, who is working on her music in LA still, and get her onboard with the idea that East is haunted.

3x07: The color war is largely the same as it was before, with the addition of Lily being there and making fun of Kourtney for not wanting to climb the wall but then everyone else just shoots her the DARKEST look and she shuts up. Seb and Big Red are discovered by Mr. Mazzara, who reveals he's been working on stuff all summer and the noises they heard were probably just him. He kicks them out, but then hears the noises for himself.

3x08: Maddox wants to take pity on Lily, but the other girls, having adopted Maddox already, insist that she's nothing but trouble. Carlos is much more standoffish, even when Seb arrives, and the looming inevitability of the water bucket tradition keeps him from really enjoying their night. We get a genuine cover of "Wouldn't Change A Thing" from Seblos, rather than the weird disco quartet with Jet and Maddox. Jet and Maddox sing a different song that's much more appropriate for siblings. The Portwell breakup unfortunately still happens, but it's more mutual, and there is no third party involved. Ricky's post-Lily time is spent being determined to have a hashtag free and fun summer and helping Jet with all his schemes, completely ignoring any romantic feelings he might be having for anyone because he's single and free and that's totally gonna make the feelings go away, right? At the end of the episode Carlos tells EJ he doesn't want to do the tradition, and he's not ready for it.

3x09: Miss Jenn, Nini, Big Red, and Seb are all there for opening night and the three kids celebrate Ricky's birthday and definitely aren't worried about a ghost, what are you talking about? The episode is largely the same, with the change of Ricky being the one to sing In Summer and still being on his "I'M FINE THERE IS NOTHIGN WRONG" bit that everyone kind of sees right through but especially his besties.

3x10: We get the second half of the performance, including Jet singing Kristoff's Lullaby and looking dramatically over at Kourtney. Nini starts to tell Gina her true feelings, but Gina is whisked away before she can reply, and the cast sings "Everyday" together.

At the premiere a month later, EJ tells everyone that he's not being forced to go to St. Louis and is going to a school further out in Utah, but still doesn't think anyone actually cares about that or him at all. The Jetney and Madlyn confessions still play out, and Jet and Maddox panic over it. Gina is upset that EJ and Val were edited to be romantically involved, when the breakup wasn't really about that, and also that Nini has been radio silent since the performance and she went back to LA. Carlos is mortified that his debilitating body/eating issues have been manipulated to make it look like he was cheating. Ricky wants to comfort all of his friends, but his facade is starting to crack, so instead of chasing after any of them, he just sits alone onstage in confusion.

Apparently I'm living in a cave because recently I learned that the definition of lesbian was changed from women loving women/ women attracted to women to non-men loving non-men and I honestly feel very sick about it. Not only are they trying to make the lesbian label more and more "inclusive" but they also center it around men. I feel uncomfortable and scared that my whole existence is being eradicated. I don't feel comfortable in the LGBT community anymore...i just want to run...these developments scare me so much.

Seriously though, I'm right there with you, anon. I'm fucking terrified too. I don't consider myself apart of the LGBTQIAXYZ123+ "community" anymore. That shit has been taken over by homophobic heterosexuals, and its no longer a place for us.

But don't ever think we're being eradicated, ok? Our gay and lesbian foremothers and forefathers have persevered through way worse than this. We've always persevered. Even while the government was letting us die by the thousands, even when bigots like Rush Limbaugh celebrated our suffering, even when we had that pink triangle forced onto us and we were sent away to our deaths and experimented on like lab rats... we're still fucking here. Even now- conversion therapy, corrective rape, forced transition? We're still here. We're still out.

Whatever the fuck happens, they will never, ever, be able to erase, diagnose away, truly appropriate, or ever fucking stop us from being homosexual. They can delegalize it, rename it, diagnose it, or even try to beat it out of us. They can play dress up in our culture and try their hardest to rewrite our history. They can proudly call themselves the slurs we've spent our lives in fear of, and they can create new ones to call us when we refuse to bow to their demands. They can cry all they want about how we're the bigots for not fucking them. But its all futile, and they know it. Because, at the end of the day, when they take a shower and wash their gender down the drain, all that will remain is their sex, the bodies they were born in, and therein lies the raw, bleeding truth. No amount of slurs or hormones or plastic surgery can change it.

But us? All we have to do is keep on loving each other. That's it. Try all they like, they'll never take our love. It's fucking eternal.

CHoG Theories and Review!

I absolutely must get this out. Chain of Gold was exactly what I needed during the time of this coronacation to keep me from going absolutely crazy. However, it made me go crazy in an entirely new way. I need the next book like a dehydrated man needs water, like a drowning man needs air. How can I possibly wait until next year?

GRACE BLACKTHORN:

This character is incredibly interesting. Throughout the entire book, she keeps claiming that she hates her mother and wants to get out of her mother’s clutches, however in The Midnight Air, she says that she is her mother’s weapon. So which one is it Grace?? I know exactly which one it is. This bitch is using Jamie to help her mother try and eradicate the Herondales with her magical love charm body. And that bracelet? I feel like that’s an entirely separate section in itself. How can nobody notice??? I do think that Magnus and Anna will notice and hopefully one of them will tell either James or Mathew and it will burn in fire. I think that Grace is gonna be hella annoying in the next book, but maybe she gets a redemption arc when she teams up with Lucie? Like, I would be fine with or without it, but it would be nice if such a well written character ended up on the side of our heros.

JAMES HERONDALE:

Honey. Get yourself together. Hopefully, on his wedding day he takes off his bracelet because he has to keep up with his ‘act’. I’m hoping that he takes it off before he’s getting ready and by the time he’s walking down the aisle with Mathew he forgets all about it. I want Mathew to be like, “Jamie, once this is over, get out of my way,” or something and James is like, what? And he starts getting all mad and he’s thinking about it and by the time he’s staring into Cordellia’s eyes and their exchanging runes, he’s like oh shit I actually love her. Like love love not just friend love. And that night, he’s all stressed out because he’s like I did this all wrong, I’m a horrible person and he thinks Cordelia doesn’t actually love him like he loves her, and he just blurts it out because he’s a Herondale and he can’t help himself. And Cordelia's just like, bitch, stop messing with me you dipshit, make up your mind and then she figures it out because she’s a smart badass. And she’s like oh shit, you really do love me and they have a *night* and when they wake up they throw that stupid bracelet in the fire and they are like actually together, but Grace notices something’s off with James, he’s not doing her evil bidding anymore and she’s like why aren’t you wearing the bracelet and he’s like oh, I threw it in the fire and she’s like lol, it doesn’t work like that and then their’s another bracelet but then Cordelia notices something is off and she gets the bracelet off of him and this time SHE BREAKS IT WITH CORTANA BECAUSE CORTANA CAN BREAK THROUGH ANYTHING. Ok that was really long, but I love James and I love the way Cassie writes him and his relationships between all of the other characters. 

CORDELIA CARSTAIRS:

I honestly think I’m in love with Cordelia. She is one of the bravest people in this series and she’s so cool. She’s able to be a badass while keeping her femininity which I feel like YA books don’t have a lot of. I think that in the next book, my poor girl finally breaks down and confesses her feelings about James to Lucie because she knows that Lucie will be supportive and Lucie gets pissed at James and goes to yell at him but he says something about Grace but Grace and Lucie are teaming up to get Jesse back. And maybe Grace doesn’t actually want Jesse back, all of this was another plan by Tatiana to get rid of Lucie through necromancy. I don’t think Lucie will figure out the bracelet thing, but she’s so pissed at Grace for leading her brother on so much that Lucie is gonna go and duel Grace. And maybe Cordelia finds out through Thomas and she’s like oh god, and she goes to stop her, but then James is there and he gets all hurt but it’s fine because Cordelia is smart and is able to think of something to save her and Lucie. I swear to god, if Jordelia isn’t endgame for love, I think I might just have to throw some hands. 

LUCIE HERONDALE:

Ooooo I love this character. Her and James’ sibling relationship was written so well, it’s like they actually were siblings (which is very rare to see). I think that Lucie is going to do some weird shit and bring Jesse back and Grace is like haha I caught you now you’re gonna get arrested and Lucie gets super upset and I think she’s gonna be the first one to open up to Will and Tessa. And they are gonna be like…? Alright? We’re the cool parents, remember? And they call in Jem and they get Lucie the help she needs to be able to deal with whatever side effects necromancy has on her. Also, she’s def gay for Cordelia (but like, who isn’t?).

MATHEW FAIRCHILD:

I need this boy to be okay. I really really hope that this love triangle with him, James, and Cordelia doesn’t get in the way of this boy’s happiness. I also think he’s gonna pull a Will Herondale and talk to Magnus about causing his mother’s miscarraige. And of course Magnus is going to help this kid find happiness. Also, can I just talk about the fact that he named his dog after Oscar Wilde? Absolute legend. I don’t really have any theories about him because I really just want him to be okay.

ANNA LIGHTWOOD:

This character. MY GOD. There is nothing about her that I don’t love. She’s entirely herself and really doesn’t give a shit about what anyone else thinks. She’s so perceptive and witty and lives for the tea. Rooting for her all the way.

JESSE BLACKTHORN:

I have so many questions. What was Tatiana going to do with that last breath? How was that going to work? How is it going to work now? Will it still work now? How is Lucie going to bring this boy back? Also, does he alley himself with Grace and Tatiana? I really don’t think so, because he was willing to save James’ life and Lucie’s life. But was that in Tatiana’s plan to make sure Belial had a body to enter? Who knows. But I’m really happy that Lucie confides in him, and maybe he also helps Lucie deal with her ghost powers. When Jesse was talking about how he finally had a chance to become a real shadowhunter, you already know I was in tears.
