Your MikaHisu headcanons/ficlet got me thinking about their dynamic as well as EreMikaHisu.

I'm glad you enjoyed my little fic and that it got you thinking!

I'm afraid I'm not a huge fan of EreHisu, mostly because I interpret Historia as a lesbian. I know that in canon she ends up with a guy and that she even blushes while she's talking to Eren, which could perhaps indicate that she's bi, but I got so attached to the idea of this tiny, high-femme lesbian monarch during my watch of aot that I find it hard to let the image go.

However, I do like Eren and Historia's friendship, and, as you can see from my ficlet, I actively ship MikaHisu, so I understand why a throuple between the three could be appealing.

Also, I have seen a couple of headcanons around that interpret Eren as a trans woman. They point out that Eren saw the memory of Frieda through the mirror and, along with Eren's general feelings of alienation and the fact that they carry a part of her consciousness in their mind, theorize that symbolically Eren can fit a trans narrative.

So in a scenario where Eren is a woman, you know 👀

Naruto- Sasunaru because they were basically brothers

Sasusaku because Sakura only liked Sasuke for his appearance and was obsessed with him

Sasukarin because it's the same as Sasusaku but worse

Bleach- Byaruki because Rukia is Byakuya Kuchiki's adopted sister. The same goes for his deceased wife Hisana because she never loved him, and he's over her. So basically, I don't ship Byahisa. People need to understand that she never loved him.

Renruki because they had more of a brother and sister dynamic

Ichihime because it's similar to Sasusaku

Shunsui x Nanao because she's his niece

Aizen x Momo because he stabbed her

Attack On Titan- Yumikuri because Historia was never gay and 104th Ymir only liked her as "Krista" and Historia only saw her as a sister and mother figure, and Historia is most likely bisexual or aromantic

Reikuri because like 104th Ymir he only liked "Krista" and he thought that Historia would be the same he's a simp for her.

Levi x Petra because she wasn't a major character and admiration can mean different things.

Levi x Eren because Levi was an asshole towards him, and he was more like a father figure for him

Eren x Annie for various reasons I can't explain

Armin x Annie because he never showed interest in her up until he inherited the colossal titan. This leads people to believe that Armin inherited the characteristics of Berthold as a result of inheriting the colossal titan because anyone who is a titan shifter, and once they shift into a titan some of their human characteristics stay with their titan form such as eye color, hair color and sometimes facial features. This could probably apply to personality as well.

King Fritz x Ymir Fritz because he enslaved her as a child, cut her tongue out, and used her as a weapon after she was saved from death by the creature in the tree after it gave her the founding titan. He also did awful things to her as she got older, and not once did she crack a smile, and the ending of her being in love with the king was an ass pull, and it contradicts chapter 122

Last but not least is Eremika because they were adopted siblings, and Grisha has acknowledged her as his own daughter. When the show was still being produced by "WIT," a majority of the scenes with Eremika were actually supposed to be Eren and Armin and their friendship. It's like Sasusaku in a way, but at least Sakura doesn't go around acting like a creeper when Sasuke is talking to another girl or woman, especially if said girl is a child and said woman is an elderly woman who is in a wheelchair.

In actor au, Annie and Mikasa became fast friends during filming! After they filmed some rivalry scenes, they always posted pictures together on social media.

Connie is very hairy! the poor thing had to shave his hair because of the character.

Historia sometimes liked some fan posts that said things like: "Why fight over erehisu or eremika when you can like Mikahisu?" and that kind of sparked a bunch of theories about maybe mikahisu being a couple at the end of the show.🤭

Armin and Mikasa were really close so some fans theorized that they were dating in real life lol and they have a very strong fanbase in the style similar to kpop shipping, but they're just friends anyway.😭 (And Eren was a little suspicious too.)

arumika went on one date after armin’s breakup with historia (that relationship lasted two weeks) but before he started hooking up with annie. I think mikasa and jean were on a break and they briefly got back together but alas it didn’t last lol because she realized where her heart really was.

Haha i wanted to share about emh. I personally have a hard time believing in it or eren being in any relationship/having any child in canonverse despite his personal desires, but i have sometimes hc’d“what if eren got historia pregnant, mikasa found out and she ran away and did her own journey” type of story. & ends up finding someone else. She still loves Eren but the context of that love changes b/c she feels betrayed & sad but grows apart and forms her own fam, & sees E again yrs later. But+

+where I get stuck is how Eren might respond to Mikasa in that situation after she runs off and disappears without saying anything and no closure. I also have a hard time envisioning her and Hisu’s relationship after she finds out the once-supportive Hisu got pregnant by her crush behind her back 😭 Like I think Mikasa would be cordial but idk that’s where i get stuck in my hc. Like Mikasa would forgive since she had her own fam but maybe it’s be awkward? Idk, angsty love triangles are hard!!!

(Last part) but the last part of my hc (after figuring out the response to themall reunifying again) Erehisu’s kid and Mikasa’s kid playing with each other and seeing them interact happily (as well as eren still seeing mikasa has her scarf) brings some sort of closure to Eremika’s friendship and acceptance that they weren’t meant to be but that it didn’t make life bad, like it was cruel but there was beauty to it (the new life they created apart)

what would make this particularly heartbreaking is, if eren realized his true feelings for mikasa shortly after she left. his whole thing with hisu was just,,, a fling, a teenage relationship forced to tighten at the noose by their own carelessness. historia sees it too; eren gets depressed shortly after mikasa leaves, and as much as he tries to fight it, as much as he tries to show up for her and take her to doctor appointments or buy her medicine for cramps, sometimes he drifts off somewhere else, a place that is inaccessible to her.

at first it hurts, to think that the father of your child would much rather be anywhere else than by your side is a painful pill to swallow. but eren and historia have an easy relationship, they always have. not too difficult and not too deep, so it doesn't matter if eren's heart belongs to another, he never promised her it belonged to her, after all.

as the years grow, their relationship becomes one of friends, co-parents and even though they don't discuss it too much, historia dates other people. she doesn't have to discuss it because eren is fine with it. they love their child and perhaps even each other but eren knows what it's like to be *in love*, what it's like to feel that aching tug on your heart every single day, feeling like you might just die if you don't see your lover's face.

for eren, it was always mikasa, and that was never historia's fault.

when mikasa comes back, he is filled with a different kind of ache. and this one even more tortuous and addictive. because he can see her again, every day at the park where he takes his little girl to play. but this time with a child of her own, a beautiful baby girl who looked just like her mama. and perhaps the final twist knife is this: the man who comes to pick them up from the park every evening, seven-thirty sharp, dress pants and a formal shirt and one of those ridiculously shiny office shoes. he kisses mikasa on the cheek when he greets her. her child waddles up to him and fusses to be picked up. she looks up at him with a smile.

eren wonders if mikasa ever smiled at him like that. perhaps not. and now she never will.

I find it amusing how some people get heated when certain characters who aren't often in the spotlight still get popular. I mean, if that character's a one-dimensional piece of shit, then I would also be confused and get a little agitated, tbh. However, if the character is quite a loveable fella, a bundle of joy, or an amusing oddball or whatever, then it should be obvious that the character must be giving some sort of comfort to quite a number of people for them to be popular.

It's hilarious how people who get mad or salty at the popularity of a side character would still take the time and effort in repeatedly talking about that character, diminishing their seemingly small yet significant contribution to the plot or other characters' development, and/or make biased character comparisons with that certain character. All that effort just to show their idiotic pettiness is so damn amusing to me. 😂

I'm mainly referring to BnHA's circus fandom filled with spiteful clowns, but this shit also applies to all other fandoms with similar levels of toxicity. lol

Never EVER I am considering the toxic yaoi/yuri shippers to be a part of the lgbt community. LGBT community, which I have seen in general are very fun loving and are a mature community. Sometimes, in times of some issues I shared with them before, they have actually given me advice on how to overcome a particular situation, they are a really a great community of amazing, strong and down-right mature and cool people. They are brave for withstanding their ideals and all in all are a community of amazing people.

But you know what ISN'T great?

Weird yaoi/yuri shippers.

I don't even know at this point what to think about them. Even if they see two male or female characters they will on to shipping the two of them saying shit like "so gay" and all that. AND yaoi/yuri ships always get double standards. Take akuhigu and shin soukoku. If you go to the shipping website for akuhigu, it will most likely be called a toxic ship because Akutagawa slapped Higuchi once. In the same manner, when Akutagawa has shown explicit distaste in Atsushi, and has cut of his leg, tried to MURDER him countless times, there is hardly any criticism for that ship! You know why? Because they are always in said to be gay and in a "romantic relationship." People have no problem in forgetting that shit and writing cringy fetish fanfiction/making people believe in which Atsushi is a submissive pussy lil bitch and Akutagawa is a yandere rapist. And what's worse? If Atsushi and Akutagawa were opposite genders, this would be the most hated ship in the fandom. Let's take another example. Sasusaku . Ah yes. good old times. If Sakura was a BOY or if Sasuke was a GIRL, people would have no fucking problem with the ship being canon, it would most likely be positively memed around and would be called the best ship. People have legit said this to me: "Well if both Sasuke and Sakura were females, then I'd ship it." Like WHAT? Take Izuocha. If Ochaco and Izuku were the same gender again, this would probably be the most wholesome gay ship to ever exist! But the amount of criticism for Izuocha in exhausting and it's been called "puppy love" on instances. But if it was gay, there'd be no problem! Take todomomo, people always complain like "nO this isn't canon they hardly have any screentime!!!" But mfs would start shipping it if they were "gay" or som shit. Akuhigu's criticism would practically be non-existent if they were both the same gender. Yaoi/Yuri get irritated if they see any straight or hetero ship and start saying stuff like: "but aren't they gay tho." "you guys must be crazy to ship this shit." "y'all need to learn friendships." "gayest of besties." or "nah more like mean bisexual or meaner lesbian." Go to the itakugi or yutamaki pages. Nobamaki or Itafushi shippers get so irritated that they just can't stand the sight of seeing people not shipping yaoi/yuri. They have legit said that "fr, people shipping yutamaki should choke on a log." like can't you leave the hetero shippers be? I ALSO ship m/m and f/f ships like YmiHisu and Uenomoya x Mafuyu, Victuuri etc. Not tryna brag, but atleast my homo-ships make SENSE considering the storyline and the characters. Now, I've ALSO seen aggressive hetero-shippers like erehisu shippers or narusaku shippers. I mean NaruSakus have calmed down a bit, they ain't as aggressiveas they were, but they've still shitted a alot. But erehisu shippers are just the worst. I mean y'all gotta stop harassing eremikas for no reason and stop spreading false shit on the internet.

So kindly stop with the toxic shipping. Shipping is for fun not for bullshitting and harrasing people.

Edit: Okay so I noticed a lot of people are getting the wrong idea of what I said so let me clear something up:

1)About yaoi/yuri wording. I am so incredibly sorry about that. I wasn't sure about wording and I typed some stupid shit. I really don't know how to apologize about that I am REALLY SORRY. (I don't fetishize I promise! I mostly write angsts with happy ending stories,)

2)This blog wasn't meant to offend any homo-ships out there! I am just saying that double standards are not cool. I mean, consider an example of itakugi or yutamaki, if you go to that related media which shows them to be romantic, people will start typing things like, "nah brotp" like I don't really ship anyone in jjk tbh. So, when a place is there to talk about a romantic ship, some people suddenly jump of the bandwagon and start telling stuff like this (mentioned above.)

This made me so happy you have no idea Moment There's two, first one being during the battle in Liberio; Jean not hesitating and pulling the trigger. Second one being this stupidly weird moment of various characters, Jean included, turning into titans during the final battle and it being reversed a whole chapter later because my boy Jean did not deserve to go out dirtily like that.

Saddest Moment Oh man, Chapter 131, showing the immediate consequences of the Rumbling + Eren's feelings about his upcoming actions and how he feels like there's no other way + Eren's apology to Rhamzi. I cried like a baby you have no idea. And while I'm not keeping up with the anime anymore, I cannot wait for that chapter to be animated because it's SO good

How to defend yourself well against EreHisu Antis.

EreMika is canon: But Jeankasa is Endgame. Bless their childs. Eren and Historia have zero chemistry: They look similar. Isayama stated that they´ve a similar character. Historia is Eren two, but they´ve no chemistry? YumiHisu is canon: The only one who stated that, was the Producer Wada-San and it is turned as mistake. They´re not canon. You´re an homophob, because Historia belongs to Ymir: Then I would have to call everyone a heterophobe who ships straight characters yaoi / yuri. Live and let live. Hello-I think that ymir didn't have to die, she died very soon when she began to develop as a character, she still had potential,the author killed her to be able to develop a romance(bond/friendship idk) between eren & historia. thanks to her death, he started erehisu

I'm of the opinion that Eren and Historia never had a (in particular) romantic thing even hinted at.

I think it's not intended to be a thing.

I think Ymir's character wasn't actually a collateral of the typical trope of killing gay characters for the sake of straight relationships, but rather the plot knowledge she had. I think it's a byproduct of having to kill her for the plot.

(I think Historia is the same way, Isayama just couldn't figure out any other way to keep her from breaking the plot, which is another conversation to be had because he still resorted to a pregnancy to do so; he could've even just killed her, I think it would've been a bummer, but still better than making her a baby machine.)

I think it makes sense Ymir would protect Historia any way she could, so her choice at least makes sense, but if she had come back with Historia, she could've also spilled the beans about the world before the basement.

In hindsight, I really think this is the case. I think you could've done this in any number of ways without killing freckled Ymir, but that's sadly not what happened.

But now I get to talk about the Eren/Historia relationship and Eren's relationships with most of the major female characters of the story.

The biggest reason I think the Eren/Historia pairing has gained traction romantically is because some people like certain tropes/want some things to happen narratively:

1) Stone-faced guy protecting his demure object-like wife.

Seriously, whenever Historia is paired with Eren I always see her portrayed as this hyper-feminine, helpless damsel.

At least make her just as proactive or fierce or anything resembling her as when she was a character. Make her the actual "worst girl", but no, it's all mostly the boring "protect pregnant waifu" stuff. More fanworks of her as this selfish asshole would be wonderful.

But they also do have an actual complex two-sided dynamic present in the story.

(Chapter 54)

Eren values her as herself, as Historia and Historia basically tells him to stop sacrificing himself and live in the cave.

I love their dynamic in the Uprising arc, but instead most of the time I see any fan works centered around them be the most milquetoast, standard "protect the cute girl" crap you can find basically anywhere else, with maybe the added fantasy of genociding the world. It's fucking boring to me.

This is also really interesting to me because before this final arc, Eren/Historia was even unpopular as a crackship. Even after the Uprising arc. Not many people seem to have given a shit about their relationship (their actual complex dynamic) before Historia became the mute baby machine.

It's what I see as the "taming of the schrew" syndrome/fantasy (named after the Shakespeare play) – the female character being the passive silent observer that needs to stay in the kitchen, listening to and doing everything the male characters say.

2) If a male character as much as talks to a female character, they are clearly in love.

This has happened with Eren and most of the main female players in the story. I already covered Historia.

Second is Mikasa.

I think Mikasa actually is the only female character with any actual setup for romantic feelings for him in the story and the only female character Eren actively asks what she feels for him:

I think where they ended up narratively makes perfect sense and if there is basis to romantically ship one dynamic in this story, it's this one.

Third is Annie.

They had a teacher-student relationship. But they actually were a fairly popular romantic pairing for a time, too, eventhough we also don't get anything all that suggestive between them.

I still think it's much more natural to read them as a romantic pairing than anything with Historia, too, although it's still a pretty big of a stretch.

He is fiercely defensive of her and learned to fight from her and she admires his courage, wants him to care of himself because he's someone she thinks wants to genuinely make the world a better place and she's kind of a tease.

There's the really old detail of Annie having feelings for Eren in a databook and Isayama clarifying it's not like that.

I really like how their dynamic is called back to in the final chapter:

In the end, Annie wanted him to learn to care for himself. I'm sad I haven't seen anyone comment on this little bit of characterisation all that much.

Although the warriors wanted to die, they didn't get what they wanted and although Eren ultimately wanted to live, he didn't get what he wanted, either. I think it's neat.

Finally there's even Pieck. They were just talking to each other, too:

But this pairing became a thing when this chapter happened, although this also was more of a crack pairing thing.

It's the combination of a (main) male character and the belief that apparently male and female characters can't ever have non-romantic dynamics.

This is common in shounen writing for sure and I think is the case in AoT with Annie and Armin and Sasha and Nicolo (but it's still better than most because I think their relationships at least make sense), but people imposing a romantic relationship between a male and female character where there is none is actually also really common in fandom. It's both a writer and a fan thing.

Not knocking any shippers that are decent people or people who like that stuff: it's not my thing, but if you care about it, you're free to.

3) Wanting a "happy ending" for Historia.

Her ending up with farmer is disliked by many because he's not a character. People want it to be Eren also because he's a character we actually care about and we know a character that cares about Historia.

It's the very basic, "at least they chose it and that's why they are happy" kind of thing, not really considering any other aspects to Eren's or Historia's character.

Eren's relationship with Mikasa was set up to be romantic a long time ago, so I think that's the right direction for the story to take.

Overall, I think it's pretty obvious where people take the romantic relationship between Eren and Historia from, but I don't think it is mostly from the story.

They have a strong friendship for sure, but I also don't think freckled Ymir was killed just so that relationship could exist and Isayama delibrately "created erehisu".

There are literally no romantically-framed scenes between them. Every time they talk, they just talk to each other.

I recently watched an hour plus long video of one my favorite youtubers that discusses anime. After watching, it left me feeling a bit salty inside as I was surprised by how Erehisu biased it was. Usually his videos aren't biased lol. I understand that Historia played an important role in Eren’s life and that she saved him as Eren himself stated. I do not deny her importance in shaping Eren’s character especially when he was younger. Eren felt guilty about his father’s actions and Eren wanted to die but Historia gave him the courage to keep on living. Also, there was a scene in the cabin where Eren complimented Historia and whatnot. So the video is claiming there was more development for Erehisu to be cannon because Eren and Mikasa had a sibling/childhood relationship. Eren had the ability to go back in time and knew past/future events so I will like to know the moment Eren knew he was in love with Mikasa. Was it the moment they both almost go eaten by Dina and Mikasa thanked him? Personally, I saw Historia’s and Eren’s relationship of true friendship but not romantically because Historia was in love with Ymir- she was saved by Ymir.  As a young kid, I don’t think romance was in Eren’s head because he was filled with anger over what happened to his mother and wanting to end all the titans. Later on in post time skip do we see Eren showing more romantic interest when they visit Marley undercover and he asks Mikasa what he is to her. Obviously he cared to know so he asked. The scene of Eren and Historia talking about the rumbling and Eren not wanting to sacrifice her, it felt more like Eren wanting to repay Historia because she saved him in the past and helped him when he needed it the most so he didn’t want her to have a tragic fate or be used. However, Historia herself chose to get pregnant. Some people are still hoping the baby is Eren’s and they are waiting for the official coloring to see the color of her eyes. Someone can save you and have an important place in your life  but it doesn’t mean you have to like them romantically
