No one talks about how lyrically beautiful I Remember You by Skid Row is like if that was written about me I would never shut up about it

So on Monday one of my dreams finally came true… I saw Skid Row play live in London!!!! When I say it was one of the best nights of my life…
They were incredible, and so were their opening bands: Collateral, Enuff Z’Nuff, and The Treatment🤘
Skid Row have meant a lot to me for a long time, so to see them doing what they love filled me with so much happiness, and I can’t lie, I left the gig feeling quite emotional🥲
Here are some snaps from the night (not great ones I’m aware but I was too busy rocking out), and me and my friend also got to meet some of the guys from the Treatment🖤

Skid Row - The Gang’s All Here Out of all the bands that were popular during the 1980s glam / hair-metal wave, only a few of those bands are still around, but their quality really fluctuates. Def Leppard released an album earlier this year, and I haven’t heard it, but I’m not a terribly huge fan of them, but I may check it out at some point. Motley Crue is still going, but they haven’t released any new music in years, minus a couple of terrible singles when The Dirt soundtrack was released a few years back, but they’re in pretty bad shape, especially vocalist Vince Neil. One band that hasn’t really been talked about too much in the last handful of years is Skid Row, a band named for the area in California that they came from (as well as many bands in that vein). Earlier this year, they announced their first album in sixteen years, entitled The Gang’s All Here, which is kind of a lie, because original vocalist Sebastian Bach is not on this album, but instead they have a new vocalist, Erik Gronwall. I heard some of the singles they released, one of which was the title track, and I thought it was pretty good. His voice is good, especially for that style of rock and metal, but it wasn’t anything special, so I wanted to see what the whole album would sound like. The day’s here, and the gang’s apparently all here, so what do I think about the comeback album from one of hair-metal’s most underrated bands (who also have two of the best late 80s and early 90s hard-rock / hair-metal albums in the form of their 1989 self-titled and 1991′s Slave To The Grind)? The Gang’s All Here is a really weird album, because while I’d say it’s “good,” I’d also use that term very loosely. While this album is good, and it’s got some catchy moments, it’s also really bland, generic, and not that interesting. I don’t really know who this album is for, because while I can see a majority of diehard fans that are ride or die for this band really loving it, I can see some of them not being crazy about it because Bach isn’t in the band. No offense to Gronwall, and his voice is good enough, it’s nothing like Bach’s. He’s what made this band, but looking at the album for what it is, his voice is honestly a cheap imitation of his. It’s not bad, and there are some good melodies and hooks, but he doesn’t have the same power and range he does. The instrumentation is also kind of lacking here; there are a few really cool solos, but a lot of the album is just repetitive and generic hair-metal. This kind of sounds like what would have happened after Slave To The Grind, albeit it a little less aggressive. That album was oddly aggressive and heavy for a hair-metal album, which is what made it awesome, but this one tones that down and has more of a feel of the debut. That’s not bad at all, but it’s not as interesting. It just feels like a retread, and hair-metal fans might enjoy it (especially those that are nostalgic for the era), I don’t know who else will. Kids today are too young to know who this band is, and they’re not on the same level as Metallica, just for a topical example, so the only people that are going to listen to this are their parents and grandparents, who grew up with that kind of music (or were around when it was happening). This is a tricky album to talk about, because I personally like it, as I love this band, and I love their sound, but I just haven’t gotten that into it, at least as much as I wanted to. I’ve been struggling to enjoy this album, at least more than a surface level. It’s a fine album, and definitely not offensive in any way, but I just don’t know who this album is for. If you’re looking for a solid hard-rock / hair-metal album, you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s not a bad listen, but you might not remember anything you hear after it’s done, and that’s kind of how I feel when the album’s done. I’ve listened to it a few times now, and my collective thought after it’s done (it’s luckily only 41 minutes, so it’s a quick enough listen) is that I don’t recall a single thing I heard, minus a couple of the hooks, and that’s not enough to keep me going back to it, especially when the hooks aren’t that strong in the first place. The album’s fine, but don’t expect to get much out of it. I’m going to forget it as soon as I’m done with this review, and after I delete the album from my phone, because I don’t want to listen to it anymore. I got other stuff that’s more worthy of my attention, and while it’s cool to get a new album from these guys after so long, it’s not that great, unfortunately. I wouldn’t say I was disappointed, because I was not expecting much at all, but it’s a bit better than I expected. It’s catchy, fun, and their vocalist is good, but it’s nothing unique, special, or interesting. It’s “good,” but in the sense that you can play this in the background of a function of some kind, and no one would complain, because it sounds like every other hard-rock / hair-metal band.

Time for your Rock Report
Lzzy Hale is set to replace Erik Gronwall for Skid Row's upcoming shows. The rock band and the Swedish singer announced in a joint statement that Gronwall will step down as the vocalist for Skid Row while he focuses on his health. Longtime friend and Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale will be taking over vocal duties for the upcoming four concerts. Gronwall has decided that the travel and rigors of the road is not conducive to his overall health and recovery from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and wants to focus on a lifestyle that is more amenable to his well-being, healing and family. It has also been revealed that to celebrate the last two years Gronwall has been with the band, Skid Row will be releasing a live album.
The Ivors Academy has revealed Bruce Springsteen as the latest songwriter to become an Academy Fellow, the highest honor the organization bestows. With this, the iconic U.S. musician will become the first-ever international songwriter that the Academy has inducted into Fellowship in its 80-year history. One of the most influential and important songwriters of all time, Springsteen's music has sound tracked the lives of millions across the globe. Often described as "the embodiment of rock & roll," Springsteen's recording career spans fifty years, beginning with 1973's Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ, and most recently in 2022 with Only the Strong Survive, his twenty-first studio album. He has sold more than 140 million records worldwide, with his countless accolades including 20 Grammys, an Oscar and a Tony Award, induction into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian award. Springsteen said he is proud to be the first international songwriter to be recognized by The Ivors Academy."In addition to recognizing my songwriting, the award stands as a tribute to the fans and friends who have supported me and my work for the last fifty years," he said. "This entire country has made me feel welcome every step of the way, and for this, I will always remain deeply appreciative."
The Ivors Academy said Springsteen's induction as its twenty-seventh Fellow recognizes his outstanding contribution to the craft of songwriting and acknowledges his impact on the U.K.'s cultural landscape.

Erik Grönwall + Jareth! 🔮🦉
“Everything that you wanted I have done. You asked that the child be taken. I took him. You cowered before me, I was frightening. I have reordered time. I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you! I am exhausted from living up to your expectations. Isn’t that generous?”
