how dare this character be absolutely vulgar, vile, sexist, toxic, and a meanie. This show is terrible, and is teaching children terrible things. I don't care if this is hell, this is wrong and I hate.

this is SO hard to answer, because so many of the characters are, like, those pet adoption ads that say "MUST STAY TOGETHER, CANNOT BE SEPARATED". it's all about the relationship dynamics! and I think everybody in the main cast is pretty neat, honestly; there isn't anyone who doesn't have something I really like about them. but if I haaaaad to choose...

Hearts - Trey, partly because I do like me a good Mom Friend™ character, and partly because he pretends like he's all sane and normal, right up until he does something to prove he's just as much of a dipshit as everyone else. you're not immune, sir.

Savana - BUFF 👏 TSUNDERE 👏 WEREWOLF 👏

Octa - this one took a lot of soul-searching, because I do feel like the Octatrio is at their very best when it's all three of them, especially when they're in full Ed Edd n Eddy mode. but in the end, Jade ekes out a win, because sometimes you get this Jade:

Scara - Kalim, my sweet little moron. such a good heart, so few braincells.

Pome - 90% of the time when Rook shows up, you know it's going to a be fun time watching a silly little man dance around and break into song for no reason and wax poetic about the beauty of, like, a chair. always a delight!

Igni - MUST STAY TOGETHER! CANNOT BE SEPARATED! ...but I would probably go with Ortho, just because right now I'm pretty invested in his Learning Emotions story arc and looking forward to seeing it progress. he's a good boy who will post your cringe fanfic publicly if you annoy him

...and at this point I'm calling technicality because the ask says "other dorms", and I genuinely do not think I could choose between the Dia boys at this point. let's see how episode 7 goes first!

It seems to be a common thing for people to act like the dsmp was always some cringe, problematic, unfun thing that no one ever really liked, but that's just... objectively not true? It was huge in 2020/2021. Being added to it could make your career! It's completely fine to not like the dsmp anymore, but claiming that you were stupid for ever liking it in the past is upsetting to see.

The user on here calling Trey Clover abusive is actually so hilarious to me. Like, did we even read the same story? Trey is one of the nicest characters in the game besides characters like Kalim and Silver.

He and Cater have a really good friendship, and it's made pretty clear that they care about each other. The most obvious example is that Trey is one of the only people in the school who knows about Cater's hatred of sweets. He even makes food he knows Cater will enjoy, and he uses his special magic to make sweets taste less sweet.

I see most people point out that one card where Trey says he's closer to Riddle as evidence that Trey hates Cater, but that evidence is weak at best. Obviously he'd be closer with Riddle. The two were childhood best friends whereas he's only knows Cater for about two years. However, this does not mean he hates Cater, it just means he's closer with Riddle, which makes sense.

Look, I understand not liking a character. I have a couple of characters from this game I dislike as well. However, going so far as to blatantly mischaracterize a character is uncalled for, and just plain stupid. As I stated before, Trey Clover is one of the kindest characters in-game, and he would never abuse someone, especially Cater.

I'm not going to @ this account, but I do hope they see this, and I do hope they understand that they are wrong. Like I said, there is nothing wrong with disliking a character, but this goes far beyond a mere dislike, and I am genuinely concerned for people who mischaracterize a character this badly.

The worst part is that this isn't the first time. So many characters, including Cater, have been horribly mischaracterized by the fandom simply because they have some personal vendetta against them or something along those lines. It's upsetting to see, but hopefully this post, along with all of the others calling out the problem, will help people to see just how badly they're mischaracterizing certain characters.

Saw one of my friends about me on discord and it reminded me that it should be more normal to tell people with ‘Interact with caution’ alters to leave you tf alone because if your alter is so dangerous you should get them the fuck off the internet, your dangerous ass alters are not other people’s responsibility, we are not specialists, have some responsibility for your system
