i feel like what some of y'all don't understand is that by making Buck's bi arc, specifically his coming out to Eddie, all about Buddie, you're not just taking away the significance for Buck, you're also taking away the significance for RYAN. Ryan, and even Oliver, have talked about how part of the reason this story is so important to him (Ryan) is because of what Ryan went through with his friend coming out to him. That the reason he loves this story is because he wants to show that two masculine men can have a close intimate friendship, and even when one of them is attracted to men, it doesn't make the straight one uncomfortable. He wants to show that even though coming out to your straight friend can be scary, it doesn't and shouldn't have to be, and a good friend won't care, and will still be comfortable being friends, talking about their love lives, and even hugging. This arc does so much, not just for bi or bi men rep, but also for close male friendships rep, and by making it all about buddie, you take away a lot of that.

Ah.... I think a part of the reason why the ACOTAR fandom have felt more hostile lately is because people can never just peacefully making up scenario of two character or more kissing around here without getting someone else write a whole ass essay with "proof" on why that pair will never work™ ..... You can't ship anyone in peace in this fandom without having One (1) person trying to debunk your ship😭 once or twice is fine. But with every single ships that's not canon? That's just tiring.

Example:

*some post about rhysta and how their dynamic will work if they're in a relationship*

Some person: making a 5 paragraphs essay on why rhysta will not work in a romantic relationship backed with proof of excerpt from the book like they're quoting the bible

Roger doesn't praise Buggy, like he'll give him a small compliment but that's about it. It's to a point where Buggy gets genuinely surprised when it happens Shanks absolutely gets praised though. -Forgotten birthday anon

It's not that Roger never praises Buggy, he does. It's just rare, and somehow that makes it worse. Sometimes Buggy feels like he is doing everything in his power just to get Roger to recognize that he is in fact trying. He may not be as skilled at fighting as Shanks, but that doesn't mean that he is useless. He can still be a great pirate. Roger just needs to see that.

That is why Buggy steals the damned fruit. If he manages to sell the thing for far more than the rest of the crew could, then surely everyone would have to acknowledge that he is more than just a cabin boy. That would show them that he could hold his own, even if he isn't the best fighter on the Grand Line. After all, wealth could grant just as much infamy as power. Of course, having a lot of money is a very welcome byproduct that Buggy won't shun.

But things don't turn out the way he thinks they will. Instead of stealing away in the middle of the night and returning with heaps of money and Roger's respect, Shanks makes Buggy eat the Devil Fruit. Which means that now nobody will be able to sell it and to make it worse Buggy loses the only thing he was better at than Shanks. Swimming.

And somehow all of this, Buggy thinks, is because Roger praises him sometimes. Because if Roger were to never do it, then maybe Buggy wouldn't have to try. If Roger just never muttered praise towards him, then Buggy wouldn't believe that there is a way to make his captain acknowledge his skill. If there is no way for you to win, why play in the first place.

But the head pats and the "you did goods", as rarely as they happen, are enough to spur him on. To make him believe that it's not that Roger doesn't want to praise him, it's just that Buggy, no matter how hard he tries, is simply not good enough to be praised.

By the time he grows older, Buggy accepts this. He knows that Shanks is Roger's favorite, it's okay. He just wishes his captain would tell him once, just once, that he is proud to have Buggy on his crew. But who could be proud of a clown?

yknow how i mentioned I'm thinking of writing a spite fic that's just TOTK but the narrative is allowed to acknowledge that imperialism is really fucking evil? Yeah so I might be outlining that fic and let me tell you i have Plans. I've now got a whole backstory about the Gerudo sage, namely what kind of person she must have been to be in the position to meet Rauru and Sonia (aka accompanying Ganondorf to Hyrule Castle, meaning someone he put a lot of trust in), while also being the kind of person that Rauru and Sonia would consider a viable option for a Sage (aka someone clearly opposed to Ganondorf). That's an interesting contradiction, and made me wonder why this woman would be part of Ganondorf's inner circle, but also look like his political opponent on a surface reading, and I wound up following that to the logical conclusion and now her story is making me really, really sad.

Also I found the helmets worn by the four non-royal sages to be really ominous and creepy, along with their complete lack of names, personalities, and that one scene with the four of them spontaneously swearing eternal loyalty to Rauru with zero prompting yet still speaking in perfect unison. That has Implications. I have done things with those implications.

Oh and I thought it was kinda bullshit that Sheikah are completely brushed off in this game, so I dug into wtf is going on there. I mean, it's weird that to fight a war against the Gerudo, Rauru decided that it would be a good idea to try recruit a Gerudo woman to fight against her own rightful king, instead of like... recruiting a Sheikah, y'know the people that can be trusted to be diehard supporters of the Hylian throne. That's a really weird absence, and I've decided that the fourth sage was originally a Sheikah, and they wound up turning on Rauru (over legitimate greivances!), and the resulting backlash caused the split that formed the Yiga Clan, AND caused them to be allied with Ganondorf.

Listen I accepted my bisexuality and thus opened up the avenue of m/f shipping but in a queer way. Largely poly and/or bi4bi kinds of ways. But mostly m/f shipping where I actually delve into their emotions and see what really makes them tick.

It was always the shallow m/f shipping that I had a problem with. The "he's a boy and she's a girl, so of course they'd end up together" kind of thing. Given actual proper emotional development with their relationship, though...
