Reading Oliver’s new interview and honestly, there is a lot to unpack there. The interviewer openly said they shipped Buddie and asked way to many questions about it but I found Oliver’s answers interesting.

The fact he he brought up previous love interests feeling like they were treated unfairly by shippers, saying you have to block them out and directly saying Buddie shouldn’t happen just because the fans want it shocked me because it’s the most direct he’s been about it since the season dropped.

He’s also talking about Lou like Tommy is sticking around and is softly pushing that pairing. There has definitely been a tone shift with him in the last 3 interviews he’s done and I might break that down later. But it made me hopeful about the future of Buck and Tommy

Tommy has heard of the horror of clipboard Buck but he has never witnessed it. The 118 told him about it, even showed some videos of it that made him smile because his boyfriend was just the silliest goose sometimes.

But being at the 217 he never had to deal with it directly, he did enjoy the aftermath tho because each time Evan would be a little frustrated from the others and it would do wonders for the way he rides Tommy that night or how he bends Tommy over his kitchen counter as soon as he gets back from a shift.

So to be fair Tommy likes clipboard Buck, he likes everything of Evan Buck anyway.

And they’ve been together for a year and a half now and it’s going so fucking great. Tommy can’t imagine it going awry anytime soon so he asks Buck to get a house together. One that is theirs, not moving into the personal space of one or the other but creating a new space, a space that is BuckandTommy.

They found a house finally and now it’s the whole mess of putting things in boxes and moving them around.

And a morning Buck arrives with a clipboard and start inventorying everything, and planning the boxes and everything. Planning what they’ll need to box everything, calculating bubble wrap need and even the time it should take.

He’s excited alright, he wants to start their BuckandTommy house quick!

And Tommy is just, looking at his tornado boyfriend walking around purposefully, opening cupboards and drawers he opened maybe once or twice in all their months together.

And he’s looking at the barely 3 boxes Tommy was able to make this week because his shifts killed him, ok? He had a 24 hours shift and a night shift with fog, it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

So yeah, he procrastinated a bit but he planned on going hard on it on his next full off day.

Buck just start berating him, and start calculating how long it would take if Tommy did only 3 boxes every four or so days and it will! Not! Do!

Buck just writing down goals and expectations for each day and squinting his eyes at Tommy when he grumbles about it before shutting up when Buck’s glare get that side of intense.

All their fights so far has always been about silly thing, and realistically he knows even if he was to push back Buck wouldn’t be actually mad, but he still just shut up and nod, which get him a smile for it, Tommy will take what he can.

“I’m going to buy that bubble wrap, because I’ve not seen any around. You better get these two more boxes out of your bathroom before I come back.”

And with that, he just kisses Tommy quickly on the lips and turn around to leave his house, he leaves his clipboard on the kitchen table and Tommy looks at it like it’s either going to bite him or Tommy will break it in half.

His phone buzzes then with a text from Buck : “actually make it three boxes x”

Can’t we just agree that in 7x04, Buck was seeking the attention of both Eddie and Tommy but in different ways? It took Buck until the end and talking with Tommy to realize exactly why he wanted Tommy’s attention, maybe even that he was looking for it at all.

I mean, you can’t dispute that he wanted Tommy’s attention, he literally went to the hanger, a place he never would have expected to see Eddie at all.

It was about Eddie and Tommy both. Buck saw himself potentially getting replace by Tommy. And Eddie was getting the time with Tommy Buck had been hoping for.

Can we let this argument go? Please 🥲 Can we let those who love Buck and Tommy love them, let them believe their endgame whether they are or not? Can we let the Buddie truthers continue to hold onto the hope for Buddie being endgame? Can we not be so hostile and negative? It’s honestly exhausting and toxic and so unnecessary.

Can we also get a better ship name than BuckTommy because that’s terrible and lazy 😅

The….the best love interest? He made a snide comment about closet space and almost outed Buck to Eddie and Marisol because of it. Left him standing in front of the restaurant after letting him think the date was continuing because he couldn’t communicate properly (which is very Taylor Kelly like and to various degrees all his other LI as well) And then never even apologized. But Buck had to. As usual. The delusion is strong with this one I fear.

ehhhh, i’d argue that the closet space comment was both relevant to the current conversation and only recognizable as having a double meaning to buck. eddie and marisol are talking about extra furniture, such as an armoire, tommy says closet space isn’t a bad thing. 100% an innocent comment to the two of them when they have zero reason to consider it anything else. and tommy kind of has a decent reason for saying it.

later, tommy says he doesn’t hide who he is, which is pretty significant when you consider the oppressive environment of the american military and the 118 under captain gerard— he’s probably come a long way to being open about being queer. i know i wouldn’t appreciate my date shoving both of us back into the closet. not just keeping the date in the down low: actively going out of their way to make us both look straight.

buck is clearly just learning about his own sexuality, but tommy’s not wrong when he says buck might not be ready to start dating if this is how jumpy he’s going to be about being public as a couple. buck definitely doesn’t have to come out to everyone around them and start waving rainbow flags around, but tommy has a right to decide that he doesn’t want to be in a relationship with someone who’s clearly not quite comfortable being seen as gay yet (the self-conscious looking around at the restaurant, the awkward insistence that he’s an ally, the panicked explanation that he and tommy are going to pick up hot chicks, etc.)

i did clock it as a bit abrupt when tommy left, but it’s not like he just up and ran or ghosted buck with no explanation— he turns visibly distant after eddie and marisol show up, orders the car, tells buck he doesn’t think he’s ready, and goes. not a crime to be honest, and i think taylor blueballing buck in a parking lot for a news story was a lot higher on the shitty moves scale than this.
