Doofenshmirtz having face blindness is so relatable to me tho cause i will straight up not recognize my close friends unless they’re wearing a certain article of clothing or a certain feature i use to ground myself with who they are and sometimes I cant say that feature because its something they’re self consious about but examples i have are one friend I recognize because of the location i see him in and a friend who always wears a cowboy hat

I wear face masks

I just feel more comfortable with them, it's not so deep... I'm not hypochondriac or anything.

But as a server it may lead to some funny interactions

Last night when I was taking an order, one guy told me that I had a hole in the mask and I was like: "Oh gosh, where?" and I tried to find it with my hand but couldn't. He was dead serious so I walked away, took it off and checked and he was wrong.

Now, when a costumer tries to gaslight you it's either that they want a discount or they are psychopaths.

In this case I thought that surely they were playing truth or dare. And I'm proven right later when a woman from the same table told me that her dare was to convince me to go outside with her for a smoke. I declined politely.

There was something strange about her story, usually you don't tell other people that you are fulfilling a dare, there was more to it... and I got a hunch that probably they made a bet and whomever could've make me take off my mask wouldn't have to pay for the dinner. And I was right.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is a completely fine way to approach a person with a mask imo. I got a lot of other costumer that straight up told me "Dude, covid is over, take that off right now".

Everytime I went to their I looked forward to see what they would come up with to win the bet. If you succeed to make a waiter look forward to go to your table it means you're doing something right as a costumer imo.

At the end they lost (because I found out too early) but it was all fun either way and they were very nice when I explained to them why I was still wearing a mask.

Saw someone on Twitter complaining that tv shows and books and such made during modern times often don’t depict anything having to do with the pandemic and how it’s some big conspiracy about pandemic denial and I can understand why someone would think that considering all the denial irl but personally I don’t want to depict Covid in my work because the pandemic completely affected so many aspects of our lives and by depicting it in my work I’d have to completely change so many parts of my stories because there’s no way the events would go as planned if there was a pandemic happening and I’ve been writing these stories for YEARS, since before the pandemic, and I don’t want to change anything and even if the work was new, how do you incorporate this huge life event into your story without it taking away all the focus?
