In honor of 2024 being the year of the dragon in the Chinese zodiac, it felt appropriate to repaint my own noodle dragon girl Dollzone Po in white skin. I had absolutely hated the previous Faceup I’d put on her for many reasons, so I was happy to redo her. Also who can resist shimmer freckles?

The new Faceup is much much cuter in my opinion. I opted for no applied eyelashes this time because her eyes are just so dang small!

The redo was prompted by her new wig, which was the first wig I’d ever sewn like this. The part is messy, but acceptable to me and not bad for my first time working with sewn wefts!

She’s just so adorable, I’m glad I finally bonded with her

I tried again with an unmodded sculpt aaaand... yeah, I don't like it any better 🥲 I think I'd have to mod the eyes just a little bit, so it's an in between of these two, but I'm a bit worried I'd take off too much again like I did the first time...

So I'll see if I'll do that, or if I'll just go with the first modded version and use the other as a romance sculpt, or if I'll sell that one...

Here she is, the first of a trilogy: Anastasia/Anya in her orphanage look!I always loved this look in the movie so much and ever since my first Anastasia repaint in 2016 I wanted to recreate that one for a doll glad I was finally able to do that! Unfortunately the hat doesn't fit anymore with that hairstyle.. and the original doll never came with that enormous jacket. Guess I have to do another one some day that can wear the hat and maybe commission someone with the jacket Let me know what you think of her :3

Narwa and Ibushi! Paintups of the Monster Hunter Figure Builder series figures, with customised bases and "floating" rocks ✨

Narwa was the most time consuming, but is my favourite of the two. Ibushi has a less detailed design overall, but his pose is so long and "flat" that he was hard to photograph. I don't have a properly lit photography setup and these were taken in winter, so definitely suffered from subpar lighting.

They're no longer with me so I can't take new photos, but they look much better in person!

I got to try some new things with both of them, they were definitely fun and Narwa is one of my favourites to have painted so far ♥

So, in May I attended PNW BJD Expo and did a faceup presentation/demo. For that I took exhaustive step by step photos of the faceup on my Megu and made a whole Powerpoint presentation on it. You can read it if you want! But be warned that the notes are speaker notes and not proofread at all, haha.

Some commissions <3 A rare Garden of Dolls Narah, a Minifee Sarang 2020 and two Lunarmate Sorens. green skin was a realy challange, but a lot of fun to paint.

Doing this spooky inspired skull faceup on this Faewoods Dolls Dahlia in lavender skin was fun and a challenge! The skull part is mostly acrylic with some pastel blushing.
