Bárður Jákupsson (b. Dec. 23, 1943) is a Faroese artist who works in a colorist, almost abstract expressionist style of landscape painting. Jákupsson trained at the Academy in Copenhagen in the 1970s and after his return to the Faroe Isles he became the director of Færøernes Kunstmuseum. His art is probably best known from the numerous Faroese stamps that feature it.

Date of Birth: July 29th, 1973
Astrological/ Zodiac Sign: Leo
Ethnicity: Irish and Faroese (with minor British heritage)
Nationality: Irish
Species: 13/16 Human, 3/16 Siren

Occupation(s): (Future) Private detective, licensed to use and capture Beasts by the Ministry’s Beast Division
Magical Characteristcs
Form of Boggart: Jacob as he was before he left telling her that she was a disappointment that shouldn’t have been born. Later on becomes herself, completely alone and telling herself just how much nobody loves her
Form of Riddikulus: Jacob/any one of her friends telling really bad jokes until they start laughing at themselves. Because Seren finds their reaction to their own jokes funnier than the actual jokes.
Form of Patronus: Common Seal
What do they see in the Mirror of Erised?: Herself with her hairstyle from before she cut it. Jacob is leaning on her shoulder and wearing a Quidditch uniform while a beater bat lays at his feet. He’s playfully batting at Charlie, also in Quidditch gear. The rest of their friends are surrounding them and it’s fairly obvious that there was a Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor match that Hufflepuff just won. She doesn’t see a world where Jacob is back. She sees a world where Jacob never left in the first place. (In the future it changes to everyone in their adult appearances, laughing in the Dwyn Detective offices. Seren looks confident and happy, because all she really wants is to be sure that the people she thinks love her actually do)

Favourite Spell(s): Aguamenti, Depulso, Metelojinx/Meteolojinx, Stella Cascadia ;)
Trivia
Her father made her and Jacob take step dancing lessons as a kid, and she can still do several of the steps even if there isn’t a single instance in which she’d use them (besides a duel)
She’s actually a very skilled watercolor painter. She and Badeea have been teaching each other in the use of the other’s medium, though watercolor is still Seren’s preference
Seren has no idea how wizard money works and at this point is too afraid to ask
She does the Alex Russo wand-in-boot thing all the freaking time, to the point where it’s her preferred place to store her wand and it makes her very uncomfortable when she’s not wearing high boots because she has no idea where to put her wand anymore
She’s garbage at Gobstones. None of this “distract your friends” nonsense, she hasn’t won a single game once in her life. Not even against Barnaby, who doesn’t know the rules. The first time she played against Charlie, she managed to skip the ball over every other ball in the ring without hitting any of them and then screamed into her hands for a full minute
She’s actually very interested in Alchemy and will absolutely take the class if they ever offer it during her time at Hogwarts
She’ll eat anything once. She’s constantly being dared to eat Flobberworm sandwiches in the Great Hall. She also habitually challenges people to blind-bag Every Flavor Bean challenges where each player has to guess what bean they grabbed without ever seeing the bean
My personal headcanon for the Quidditch sidequest is that during Year 2, Penny pressured her in going for a tryout. She did the training right up until the Vault of Ice happened just before tryouts for the next year and decided that it wasn’t worth the effort
Similar thing with the Frog Choir in that she got in during Year 4, but was only in it for half a year before dropping out due to the Vaults yet again
She has four creatures that are “employed” at her and Jacob’s detective agency:
Brishen, the Augurey and Seren’s cooler alternative to an owl. Brish is a messenger primarily, but also an excellent scout when doing stakeouts
Spud, the Crup that she got as a puppy in Year 6 who is excellent at sniffing out clues and identifying the scents of people who would have been on the scene
The Kneazle kitten that she’s gonna get at around the same time but I haven’t developed yet
Nickelboon, the Niffler from the Creature Reserve that she eventually adopted who... steals evidence from crime scenes now. And also everything in Jacob’s desk. The two don’t like each other much
@oveliagirlhaditright this isn’t really a tag or anything, but I thought it would be helpful if you ever wanted to keep Rapunzel’s info organized

willkommen-in-germany: Forseti Seated in Judgment (1881) by Carl...
Forseti Seated in Judgment (1881) by Carl Emil Doepler, German painter, illustrator & costume designer, who created the costumes for Richard Wagner’s opera Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuther Festspiele in 1876.
Forseti (Old Norse: “the presiding one”; “president” in today’s Icelandic & Faroese) is an Æsir God of Justice and Reconciliation in Norse mythology. He’s generally identified with Fosite, god of the (German & Dutch) Frisians. Fosite’s sacred island was Helgoland (a German island). It’s plausible that Fosite is the older name and Forseti a folk etymology.
Norse Forseti. In the Prose Edda, Forseti is the son of Baldr and Nanna. His home is Glitnir (“shining”), referring to its silver ceiling and golden pillars, which radiated light that could be seen from a great distance. His is the best of courts; all those who come before him leave reconciled. This suggests skill in mediation and is in contrast to his fellow god Týr.
Frisian Fosite. According to Alcuin, the saint visited an island between Frisia and Denmark that was sacred to Fosite and was called Fositesland after the god worshipped there. There was a sacred spring from which water had to be drawn in silence, it was so holy. Willebrord defiled the spring by baptizing people in it and killing a cow there. Altfrid tells the same story; Adam of Bremen retells it and adds that the island was Helgoland. There is also a late Middle Ages legend of the origins of Frisian laws. Wishing to assemble written law for all his subjects, Charlemagne summoned 12 representatives of the Frisian people and demanded they recite their people’s laws. When they couldn’t after several days, he let them choose between death, slavery, or being set adrift in a rudderless boat. They chose the last and prayed for help, whereupon a man appeared with a golden axe on his shoulder. He steered the boat to land with the axe, then threw it ashore. A spring appeared where it landed. He taught them laws and disappeared. The stranger and the spring are identified with Fosite and the sacred spring of Fositesland. Fosite has been suggested to be a loan of Greek Poseidon into pre-Proto-Germanic, perhaps via Greeks purchasing amber (Pytheas is known to have visited the area of Heligoland in search of amber).
In popular culture, Forseti appears in the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game’s pantheon, and is often chosen as a patron god by paladins.

You get inspiration from Nature and try to develop sustainable collections. In your opinion, how the textile industry could become more eco friendly and socially responsible? The textile industry should be more open to sharing knowledge. There is a lot of pressure on the people in this business and sustainability can mean a lot of things. It is not only being aware of using eco-friendly materials, but also being socially responsible. The textile industry should be better at sharing knowledge. Contributing to your local area, using local materials and resources. Making long lasting garments, recycling and contributing to the society.
Any specific scheme in preparation for 2018? 2018 is in for a bit more color and hopefully new collaborations.

William Heinesen (Jan. 15, 1900 - 1991) was a Faroese writer and artist. He is considered the greatest capturer of Faroese culture and mythology, but since he wrote in Danish he did not wish to be considered for a Nobel Prize as he felt that would detract from the stature of the Faroese language.
He also painted, mainly pastels, and became a master of the art of paper cutting when in his 70s and no longer able to get around the islands to do plein air landscapes. His cuttings masterfully capture the figures and sceneries of Faroese folk beliefs and Norse myths.
Above is also a translation I’ve done of parts of a poem of his, from his last collection of poetry, titled Panorama with Rainbow, 1972
