doing favours for others & asking others for favours

I learnt 3 forms:～あげました、～くれました、～もらいました

The verb before it should be in its て-form (e.g. 書いて、飲んで、手伝って、教えて、説明して）before adding one of the above.

Examples:

私は山田さんに本を貸してあげました。(I lent Mr. Yamada a book.)

私は佐藤さんに大阪城へ連れて行ってもらいました。(I had Mr. Satou take me to Osaka Castle.)

健太さんは私にコーヒーを入れてくれました。(Kenta made coffee for me.)

DM: A priestess takes you aside.

Harriet: Hi. Are there any rituals you can do to find a missing person?

DM: She says, "Well, there are a few, but they're very expensive."

Diardi: We have quite a lot of money.

DM: The cheapest one is over 10k.

Winnifred (kalashtar bard): We don't have that much money.

Harriet: We're looking for Marilee, one of the high priests at the temple of Corellon.

DM: "Marilee is missing?"

Harriet: You know her? Do you have an exclusive priest club?

DM: "Something like that. Since this is for Marilee, let's see. I could do the ritual for the components you have, plus a favour owed."

Diardi: *suspicious* What sort of favour?

DM: "Nothing nefarious! Work that's hard or dangerous for us to carry out ourselves - components to be gathered, locations to be checked. If we suggest something that's unacceptable to you, we can find a different task for you."

Winnifred: Okay, that sounds reasonable.

DM: She says the ritual takes an hour to set up, so to meet her back at the temple then with your questions.
