god this is so hard, but this is what came to mind immediately! From IWTBY's Thanksgiving/Long Island chapter.

Bradley grinned and leaned against the railing next to him. They both quieted down, looking out at the waves lapping the shoreline. A cool wind carried off the ocean, but it was a relatively nice day for November with the sun shining bright overhead. He took a deep breath, inhaling the salt air, and tried to picture growing up here, what that must have been like. Everything here felt open, free, like he could actually breathe. It was so different to the suffocating confinement of the Texas plains.

He focused on the warmth of the sun on his skin, the way the breeze blew against his sweater. The faint sound of some old 60s song and Carole’s voice drifted through the screen door. All around him was evidence of warmth, safety, security…home. He felt out of place, like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole, edges a little too jagged to fit without snagging. It was the way he’d always felt when visiting friends’ houses.

He looked over at Bradley, at his stupid fucking jorts he was wearing even in November and the vintage oversized Mets sweatshirt and the damn mustache. He was just him- no shame, no apologies. He could see Carole there, Nick, even Mav, clear evidence of their influence and love, but beyond that, parts that were simply Bradley. The kind of parts that grow and flourish only under the sunlight of an environment that encourages it, planted with care, nurtured, grounded by a strong root system. He was a Bradshaw through and through, and this house was nothing more than a reflection of a mere piece of what that meant. And Jake…well, he was a product of the Texas desert, grown with spines and thorns, bred to survive in the scorching sun and the barren desolation.

set the scene : braille by regina spektor plays softly in the background. she was lying on the floor and counting stretch marks / she hadn't been a virgin and he hadn't been a god / so she named the baby elvis / to make up for the royalty he lacked flora & grant mccallum might have had something resembling love at some point in their life, but the two of them were never meant to last. only, at twenty years old, they brought their first child into the world (on accident). flora named him luke elvis mccallum, thinking that maybe, if she tossed in one of the greats to his name, he’d be great too. four years later, and whatever semblance of a marriage they had was falling apart. enter hudson king mccallum, the boy who was supposed to save their marriage. again, flora had  bestowed him with the honor of carrying the middle name king, after the great nat king cole. ( spoiler alert: hudson did NOT save their marriage )

growing up in a small town just outside of cincinnati, mackey had a somewhat normal, if not mundane childhood. sure, his family was a little quirky. his father was a drunk who never really wanted kids in the first place, and his mother was a hippie/dead head/stuck on some 80′s acid trip lady who didn’t really believe in parenting, and saw her kids as her friends. his older brother, luke, was a real jock kind of guy — played on the baseball team, disrespected women, a general bummer to be around. he had a god given talent of getting under mackey’s skin, and he was far stronger than him which meant fights never really resulted in mackey’s favor. so it was safe to say he avoided being home as often as possible, instead taking to the boring, suburban streets of loveland ohio in search of something to do. 

he’s been quoted before saying “the only thing my mother ever gave me was music.” very true! flora did not much else, but she did have an extensive record collection and taught him everything he knows — from nat king cole to smashing pumpkins, flora not only had the record but knew the history. and the only time mackey could stand to be around her for long periods of time was when she was telling him about music, teaching him about the greats ( of course, even those moments weren’t the best — he can still recall a time when he was nine and she was going on and on about led zeppelin, and passed him a joint as she explained the beauty of whole lotta love. again...he was nine )

in high school, mackey and his best friend decided to start a band. this was mostly due to suburban boredom. they were called believer (as in believer of aliens), and they made (pretty admittedly) shitty rock music. but it was throughout that time that mackey fell in love with making music, however poor their band sounded (it was literally just the two of them, a guitar and drums, so it was never really going to sound good). though mackey discovered that he actually had a way with words, and getting them down on paper. first time he ever actually realized this was when his english teacher pulled him aside after class. he was never really a good student — other than history and english, he was failing most his classes — so he was expecting a lecture. instead, she told him he was incredibly gifted. for someone whose father constantly reminded them what a piece of shit they were, it meant more to him than she’d ever know. ultimately, it ended up changing his life. 

fast forward : GRADUATION DAY ! hoorah ! mackey had no plan in sight. no college acceptance letter or trade school opportunities. instead, he bought a one way greyhound bus ticket to new york city. so long, ohio! and go fuck yaself! he’d picked NYC because his cousin, blue, lived there and, not knowing anyone in los angeles, that sounded like a better option. save for the fact that blue spent most his nights crashing on random couches and basements, which meant mackey would spent the next few months doing the same. that’s okay, he could handle it. in fact, he kind of liked it. anything beat loveland, ohio. 

FAME LET’S HIM LOOSE, HARD TO SWALLOW

as much as mackey loves making music, he’d never actually expected it to make him money. he never actually expected to get a record deal, to become famous, to sell out shows and be on tv. it was a pretty tough pill to swallow, when he began to realize that his life may not be his own life anymore. 

he has never claimed to be dealing with the fame well, but he does it in the best way he knows how — turning to drugs & alcohol. hey! like father like son! he’s an absolute mess and the press picks up on it, and their pr team would step in but people seem to rave about him online. “he’s so real!!” “mackey having a mental break down on stage last night was so me” “manifesting becoming a mackey tour groupie.” All common threads you’ll find below tikok videos of him! he’s an absolute mess, a pretentious, self obsessed, unapologetic mess, but at least for right now, the internet is eating it up. until he gets cancelled, at least (he also has made a lot of commentary on stage about cancel culture. he’s like go ahead and cancel me!!!!! ok mackey...calm down)

he is probably the reason the band keeps having to go through media training. he just! cannot! be good! it’s hard for him to care too much about anything other than music because his entire life, he didn’t really care about anything other than music. this poses a problem when it comes to relationships and friendships as well, he can often times come off as apathetic even when he doesn’t mean to. 

i like to think of him as a combination of matty healy & dominic fike. says really outlandish things, drinks on stage every night, maybe has cried on stage before, kisses his fans because why not, talks about being dumped while on stage, super relatable tingz 

I THOUGHT THAT YOU WERE STRAIGHT, NOW I’M WONDERIN?

a believer in all sorts of conspiracy theories. big foot, loch ness monster, jim moorison is alive and well and living in cuba, you name it. he doesn’t trust the government, didn’t have a bank account until VERY recently and his credit score was like 300 (in his defense, his mom took out a credit card in his name as a kid and now his credit is shot, but it’s slowly climbing back up), and he  refuses to be a “cog in the corporate america machine.” as a teenager, he was a self declared communist — so this newfound fame of afternoon daydream has been something he has been struggling to grapple with. was he just becoming another cog in the machine? another money bag for a huge record label like columbia?

he loves wearing thrifted clothes that have weird sayings. some of his personal favs: a baseball cap that says “bigfoot is real and he tried to eat my ass”, a t shirt that says “women want me fish fear me”, and a hoodie that says in red gems: “i wanna talk about me.” 

he’s a self professed music snob. but that doesn’t mean he’s above listening to pop music — some pop music meets his standards (little mix yes, fifth harmony no). he has perfect pitch, meaning he can hear pretty much any sound and tell you what note it’s in (okay charlie puth. he’s slightly less annoying about it) but he DOES act like this fact makes him a better musician than most.

Bruce Willis has been spotted out in public for the first time since his family revealed he is suffering from frontotemporal dementia.

On Friday, the Daily Mail published photos of the Die Fat star on a recent afternoon with two pals in Santa Monica, Calif.

While out with his friends, Willis, 67, was seen wearing a grey toque, blue sweatshirt and black pants. In a video published on the Daily Mail’s website, the actor could be seen walking in one direction. However, one of his friends tried to get him to stop and go the other way.

After going public with his “cruel” dementia diagnosis last month, Bruce’s family — wife Emma Heming Willis, 44; his former partner Demi Moore, 60; and his children Rumer, 34; Scout, 31; Tallulah, 29; Mabel, 10; and Evelyn, 8 — are spending as much time with him as they can.

“The focus for Bruce is to keep him active. He has a busy schedule with activities every day. They make sure both his body and brain are exercised,” a family source told PEOPLE.

“The family is all closer than ever,” the source adds, saying that Emma wants to make sure their children, Mabel and Evelyn, have a meaningful memory of him.

Willis stepped away from acting last March after his family revealed he was suffering from aphasia — a neurological affliction that leaves a person unable to communicate.

His condition has worsened and in February his family confirmed that the Hollywood icon is suffering from frontotemporal dementia.

“FTD is a cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and can strike anyone,” Willis’ loved ones wrote in a statement on the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration website. “For people under 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because getting a diagnosis can take years, FTD is likely much more prevalent than we know.”

The statement continued, saying that Willis would want to spread information about the disease.

“Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others and to raise awareness about relevant issues both publicly and privately. We know in our hearts that — if he could today — he would want to respond by bringing global attention and connectedness to those who are also dealing with this debilitating disease and how it impacts so many individuals and their families.”

Earlier this week, Bruce’s wife Emma took to her Instagram Stories to share a throwback video of her husband showing his support for her body care line CocoBaba.

“What’s this new memory thingy on IG?” she wrote alongside the post. “OMG my biggest fan. I’m in love with him.”

Meanwhile, his former wife, Demi, is happy that Bruce has such a strong support system around him.

“Demi and the kids … rally around Bruce, whom she still adores, and it really touches her soul how loving and selfless their kids have been toward their dad as he copes with his situation the only way he possibly can,” a source tells Us Weekly.

Elsewhere, Emma shared this week that she had met with dementia specialist Teepa Snow to learn more about how to help her husband.

“I’m grateful I had the opportunity to work with @teepasnows_pac who has helped me add to my dementia care toolbox,” she wrote in an Instagram message.

According to the Mayo Clinic, frontotemporal dementia is an “umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These areas of the brain are generally associated with personality, behaviour and language.”

Willis, whose career started in the early 1980s with a role in Sidney Lumet’s The Verdict. He is most famous for playing New York City cop John McClane in the successful Die Hard franchise. He also starred in television’s Moonlighting, opposite Cybill Shepherd, Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, and Looper, which opened the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. He also played David Dunn in M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable trilogy.

He’s been nominated for five Golden Globes (winning once for Moonlighting) and won two Emmys (for Moonlighting and a guest appearance on Friends).

Willis’ final film, Assassin will premiere later this month in select theatres and on VOD.

Colin and Tripp: Part 2

“I just hope this whole thing doesn’t implode on us.” Colin said as he folded some jeans and placed them in a suitcase. “This is going to come as a HUGE surprise to them.”

“You’re not kidding, babe.” Tripp said as he closed his laptop from atop their bed. “HUGE, indeed.”

Tripp got up and walked behind Colin to rub the belly that contained his unborn sons. Tripp had never been so turned on by another person than Colin in all his pregnant glory. Colin had ballooned over the past couple weeks and easily resembled a man nearing full-term. At 29 weeks, Colin had managed to pack on forty pounds, all of which seemed to go to his belly.

The dinner started off awkwardly, but by the end, everyone seemed comfortable with Tripp and Colin’s situation. The pair said goodbye to their dinner guests and after the caterers left, they retreated to the backyard for a bonfire.

It was a cold, late-fall night and Tripp donned a baggy Cornell sweatshirt, chinos, and boat shoes, while his pregnant lover lowered himself into an Adirondack chair wearing a similar outfit. Tripp had a beer in his hand as they discussed what they believed was a successful dinner with Colin’s family.

There were other tweets that Tyronic continued to tweet and then delete (April 1: “I think about you all the time” - April 3: “You my favorite” and “I don’t know what I did to deserve you” - April 7: “Really like what you’ve done to me”), Insta-stories and posts by both, and other public appearances together to increase the public’s curiosity. Such as: 1) Mani’s birthday. 2) August 16, 2017, when 5H did that famous and messy phone interview with The Sun for Dan Wooton’s podcast, one of Salmoned Cow’s well-known puppies friends, during which Dan asked Lauren about his relationship with Twinkly and she replied that they were just vibing. 3) Lauren’s birthday. 4) On September 11, 2017, Lauren posted pictures about the FentyxPuma party, and in one of those posts with pictures of her and Troglodyte, she put the caption with three hearts emojis, thus confirming to people that she and Tipsy were together.

February 2017 was the chosen month for Pukeren to ‘become’ official, confirmed by Typed in an interview at the Power 105.1 FM morning show The Breakfast Club on October 31, 2017, though, so a long time later and when the waters had already calmed down. Following that meeting, it was supposed to start in October 2017, when they also started to follow each other on IG, but everything was postponed because C’s album was postponed. 11. Last Show: ..I can’t even remember. I’m not sure if that’s because it’s been so long or because my memory is failing me. I don’t watch a lot of shows during the school year so I don’t have an answer for this one, sorry

Why I chose my url: I came across a hippie-name-generator (the ones that are like, birth month for the first word, first initial for the second word, you know the drill) and my result was actually Karma Liberty (which I personally think would be an amazing band name) but I substituted the karma for sunflower because I love sunflowers

20. Average hours of sleep: Anywhere from 4 to 7, depends on the day and how much I procrastinated

22. Instruments: I used to play both the piano and the violin, but haven’t played in a while. I also played the recorder in seventh and eighth grade and was terrible

23. What am I wearing atm: very old sweatpants with a hole in the knee that I keep forgetting to patch and my favourite enormous green sweatshirt. very comfy clothes

24. Dream trip: There are many! But a big one that I’ve been dreaming of for years is going backpacking across Europe

25. Favourite food: Pasta. Pizza. Chile. Any kind of cake and anything with chocolate.

28. Last book I read: If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregor, for an essay due next week for my English lit class. I loved it a lot and cried at the end both times I read it. Highly recommend.

29. Top three fictional universes: This is.. an incredibly difficult question. 1) Howl’s Moving Castle universe, specifically the book but honestly both are amazing. I love them and would very much like to live there. 2) Ok I don’t know if this is actually canon but in my head I like to imagine that all ghibli movies exist in the same universe, and that would be the ultimate universe. Let me live there please. 3) I have a soft spot for the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children universe (even though I’ve only read the first three books. The fourth one is staring at me from my shelf as I write this). But also, I would not want to live there, there’s a terrible war going on for a lot of it so it’s not really a good time. Oh and honorary mention to the Harry Potter universe which was basically my entire childhood. The basic consensus of all these answers is that I want to live in a magical world and have magical powers. If anyone’s looking for someone to grant magical powers to, I’m here
