screaming on the inside
When Steve was five years old he fell off his bike and his hands and knees were grazed and bleeding. He had scared himself when he'd come off, giving a startled yelp, and blood was running down his legs. His palms were stinging and he just wanted someone to hug him and tell him it would be alright. He knew some parents did that. He'd seen it happen before when kids fell over on their way to or from school or on the playground.
Tears burned his eyes as he tried to hold them back, but despite his best efforts a few fat tears escaped and rolled down his red cheeks.
When he came into the house limping and bleeding his mother had sighed and told him to go clean himself up.
When his father saw his still wet lashes and red blotchy face he had sneered and told Steve that crying was for babies and he'd better cut it out and grow up. Men don't cry. Harrington men did not show weakness. Crying was for women and babies.
Steve had dried his eyes and apologised to his parents for bleeding and crying respectively.
As he sat in the bathroom cleaning out his grazes with antiseptic and applying bandaids to his knees he promised himself he'd be better. He'd make his mom and dad happy. He would be a good boy and he wouldn't cry.

X
At twelve years old Steve had fallen during a basketball game after another player had run into him. He knew something was really wrong, he'd felt and heard a crack as he'd landed, left arm twisted beneath his body.
His father only came to games he deemed as important. Usually the first and last games of the season.
This was the final and Steve's father was watching from the stands. By now Steve knew that if he let on he was hurt that things would not end well for him so he picked himself back up and took the penalty shot.
Agony shot through his arm, but somehow he made the shot, he honestly didn't know how.
He managed to get through the last few minutes of the game before heading to the bench, cradling his injured arm against his chest. He knew better than to cry, he truly did, but now that he wasn't focused on finishing the game the pain was getting to him. He squeezed his eyes closed trying to stop the tears from escaping.
As the other kids on his team cheered at their win, Steve clutched at his arm and hoped this was an injury that would heal on its own.
Despite Steve's efforts the coach, one of the other boys' parents, noticed something was wrong and came to check. He gently pried Steve's right hand away and looked at the injured arm which had begun to swell.
"Hey buddy that looks pretty painful. Are your folks here? I think you might need a trip to the hospital," the coach said, looking around. When he saw Steve's dad he waved him over, explaining that Steve was hurt and should go get checked out.
Steve made sure to dry his eyes before his father approached him, not allowing any sounds of pain to escape his tightly sealed lips.
Somehow Steve passed the test.
His father simply nodded at him before leading Steve to the car. He was taken to the hospital, given a few quarters for the payphone,  and his family's insurance information and told to call when he was finished.
Steve waited until his father was gone before speaking to one of the nurses in the emergency room. She gave him an ice pack and told him to wait in one of the chairs until the doctor called him.
Only when he was sure nobody was paying attention did Steve let the tears fall, silent as they burned hotly down his cheeks.
X
Steve is eighteen years old when he is beaten by Russian soldiers in a secret base beneath the mall he works at. He is well versed in not letting on how much pain he is in. For perhaps the first time in his life he is almost grateful for all the 'lessons' his father taught him.
Between concern for the kids and Robin, and the many reminders throughout his life about not showing his weaknesses Steve keeps the attention on him.
He doesn't break.
He doesn't cry.
He does eventually pass out.
Then there's the drugs that are given to him and Robin and he's too busy laughing to cry
He maybe lets a few tears slip while he's puking his guts out, but if he did nobody would know.
Hours later when he's home in bed, house empty, he does let a few tears slip silently down his cheeks. He cries for only as long as he can't stop himself, trying to regain control again within moments of letting it slip.
Even if there had been anyone else in the house they never would have known. He had long learnt to stay silent if he could no longer contain his emotions.
x
When Steve is nineteen he goes to the Upside Down. He is choked, bitten and dragged across jagged rocks but he doesn't cry. There's no time.
After they get back to their version of Hawkins, there is too much to do to break down, even if he had wanted to.
So he kept everything bottled up, just as he'd been oh so graciously taught.
Then they had battled Vecna.
Max had nearly died.
Eddie had died, at least for a minute or two.
He sat vigil at both of their bedsides, switching rooms every few hours until Max had woken up on day two.
Then he spent his time in Eddie's room, the Party was keeping Max company, but Steve didn't want Eddie to wake up alone.
So he waited.
Finally after three days the newest member of their little group woke up.
Steve managed to keep it together until everyone had visited, until Eddie had spoken with the doctor and been filled in on his injuries and how he was healing.
It wasn't until later that evening, when he was sure Eddie was asleep, that Steve broke.
One moment he was sitting in a chair beside Eddie's bed, watching the older boy breathe and just being grateful that they had all made it out alive, the next he was crying, silent sobs making his whole body shake.
Eddie chose that moment to blink his eyes open, he looked at Steve breaking down without a sound and he knew Steve needed someone to take care of him too.
"Steve," Eddie's voice cut through the silence and Steve tried to wipe away his tears roughly, failing miserably as more fell to replace them even as he scrubbed at his face.
"Stevie come here, please," Eddie called once more.
Reluctantly Steve stood up and moved over towards the bed, finally sitting on the edge of the mattress when Eddie motioned for him to sit.
"Sorry if I woke you," Steve mumbled, sounding shattered both from crying and exhaustion.
"You didn't. You do look like you could use a hug though," Eddie shifted on the pillows and opened his arms, mindful of the many bites littering his body.
Steve was ready to protest, but something in Eddie's gaze made it clear that this was happening. Not wanting to aggravate either of their wounds he allowed Eddie to wrap his arms around him as he carefully returned the embrace.
"It's ok if you need to cry Steve. You've been doing so well taking care of everyone. If you need to let it out I'm here for you."
Such simple words, but as Eddie spoke Steve felt the last pieces of himself shatter.
When Steve was nineteen he is comforted for the first time as he cries.
He's not sure how long he sobs into the crook of Eddie's neck but the metalhead never stops whispering soothing nonsense into his ear. Eddie never once complains or pulls away. He simply holds Steve and Steve lets himself be held.
Eventually Steve's tears slow from great heaving sobs to muffled sniffles. Eddie keeps holding him as long as he needs though, not pulling away until Steve is ready, hand gently rubbing his his shaking back.
Eddie shuffles over as much as his injured body is able and Steve settles into the space beside him, exhausted enough to not dwell on any of the events of the night too much.
Tomorrow he may need to reconsider just what he feels for Eddie, but for tonight he will just accept the comfort as it's being given and allow himself to rest.

Febuwhump- idk what I’m doing
Based after the prompt for day 17: silent tears!
It’s in the perspective of Legend, and Tulip is his Zelda! This is all for link between links which is my links meet au, not a lotta links meeting honestly but hope y’all like this! It’s been in my head for a while
Everything Reminds Me of Her
Legend ran through the courtyard, dodging the apple trees as he sprinted across the ground. He looked up at the plants around him and smiled. It was springtime and the flowers were in full bloom. A beautiful mixture of white, pink, and yellow flowers were all around him, and he let out a laugh. He loved the spring.
Legend waved at the gardeners and workers from the castle, excusing himself as he almost ran into a knight. He ran out of the garden area and hopped over a parapet, yelping as he rolled down a hill near a creek where Tulip sat.
She looked up in surprise at the crashing hero and giggled at him, his hair was a tangled mess that was covered in flower petals, his face was flushed from running, and he had a big, goofy smile on his face.
“Enjoyed your run?” Tulip asked, a teasing smile on her face. Legend scratched the back of his neck.
“How did you know I was running?” He asked sarcastically. Tulip looked him up and down and giggled again. Legend rolled his eyes and let out a chuckle. He sat down next to her and looked at the flower in her hands.
“The apple trees are beautiful this spring,” she said, carefully plucking out the petals around the center, “you take care of them well.”
Legend gave a bashful smile and looked behind him where the trees stood, a warm feeling forming in his chest. He wanted nothing more than to have the best apples in Hyrule, he was glad that he made his dream a reality. He wondered what Uncle would say.
Tulip smiled at his pride and rubbed his knee. “The apples are wonderful, I should have you know.”
Legend scratched the back of his head again. “Ah, it’s nothing really.”
Tulip rolled her eyes at his modesty and went back to picking at the flower petals. “You came here quickly,” she stated, grabbing a different flower from the side Legend wasn’t on.
“Well, I can never ignore a call from you,” he bumped her shoulder, giving her a wink. “Though, I thought that you’d use your Triforce communication in emergencies?”
Tulip giggled again and bumped him back. “This is an emergency. I found something special,” She put the other flower in his hair and cupped his face, making Legend blush a little. “It matches your hair, isn’t that incredible?” She said in a sing-song voice, making Legend blush more.
“Oh princess…” Legend turned away, making Tulip giggle even more. “That’s not very special if you ask me.”
“Oh but it is!”
“There’s like a million pink flowers here, one of them is bound to match my hair!” Legend started to pull up his hat, trying to cover up his hair more.
“Oh it’s a unique shade, no reason to be so modest about it!” Tulip leaned in closer and began to run her fingers through his hair. “There’s no reason to cover it up either!”
Legend gasped when she pulled off his hat, waving it around.
“See? Isn’t that better?” She teased.
“Zelda, give it back,” Legend chuckled and held his hand out. Tulip raised her eyebrow and continued to hold it in the air. Legend sighed and reached for it, unsuccessful in grabbing it when she pulled back. He huffed and reached again, grabbing nothing as she hid it behind her back, giggling like a maniac.
“Zelda,” Legend said again, crouching down. “Give it back, or else.”
“Or else what?”
“Or else I’ll do this!” Legend jumped after her, only to land on the ground as Tulip stood up and jumped out of the way.
“Oh, the hero of legend can defeat the king of all evil but can’t get his hat back?” Tulip teased, putting her hand on her hip.
Legend smirked and got up on his feet. “Now you’ve done, better run quick princess!”
Tulip squealed as Legend chased after her, him nearly stumbling over her scattered belongings in the grass that he didn’t see before. He got up and followed her to the creek, her laughing when she saw him so close. She hopped across the creek gracefully as Legend slipped in after her. He let out an embarrassed laugh, trying to get up from the slippery rocks. He saw her waiting for him at the bottom of a small hill, waving his hat around in a teasing manner. He smirked and stumbled out of the creek, running up the hill where Tulip was running to. She began to slow down which allowed Legend to grab her from behind, snatching back the hat.
“Noooo!” She cried, slumping over in Legend’s arms, catching him by surprise. He yelped as he fell over, both of them on the ground. Legend got off of Tulip and laid on his back, breathless from laughing so hard. Tulip rested her head in the crook of his neck, laughing as hard as he was.
Legend clutched his hat to his chest, beginning to giggle more quietly, his ribs hurting from laughing so much. He felt Tulip rest her hand on his chest and he smiled, opening up his eyes up at her.
Brown eyes smiled back down at him. Red hair flowing through the wind. A soothing and beautiful voice laughing with him.
Legend’s eyes widened and he stopped laughing, his heart nearly stopping as he shot up, staring hard at her.
Tulip’s dark blue eyes stared back at him in concern, her hand on her chest.
“Link? What’s wrong?” She asked, breathless, leaning in closer to him.
Legend stared at her for a moment before turning away and squeezing his eyes shut. He slumped over holding his head in his hand.
“Link! Are you ok?”
Legend barely heard Tulip’s voice as his emotions began to take over him. A lump formed in his throat and he choked back the urge to cry. He needed to leave.
He stood up and started to walk away, trying to stop the tears from falling. He heard Tulip run after him and gently grab his shoulder.
“Link, please talk to me! What happened? Was it something I did?”
Legend stopped walking, guilt forming in his chest. He took a deep breath and turned to Tulip, faking a smile.
“You didn’t do anything wrong Zelda. I promise. I just… need to be alone right now…”
Legend turned away from Tulip just as a tear fell down his cheek. He started walking again, the tears pouring down uncontrollably like they always did when he thought of her.
No matter how hard he tried to forget, he couldn’t stop thinking of her and that world. He could never stop thinking of her…
No matter how hard he tried to forget, he couldn’t stop thinking of her and that world. He could never stop thinking of her…

Doing
Warnings: blood, wounds, field med, hurt/aftermath
Villain landed on their back with a cry of pain. They could feel the hole in their gut. Could feel their blood pooling around them. It wasn’t good.
“Shit!” They heard Supervillain mutter as they came up. “Hey, Villain. Hey, it’s not that bad. Hang on.”
Villain could barely move their head to see Supervillain kneel down next to them. They could feel hot tears tracking down their cheeks. But they couldn’t make a sound.
Supervillain rummaged through their pack. “Hey, hey, it’s ok, Villain. It’s ok. How are we doing?” They continued to rummage, looking for something--anything--to keep Villain from bleeding out right there and then.
“H-H-Hurts,” Villain managed.
“Yep, getting lasered through the gut will do that to you. Hold this there, Villain. Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.” Supervillain pressed a wad of gauze to the hole in Villain’s belly. “Hold it there.” Supervillain pressed Villain’s hand over the wound.
Villain’s world whited out with pain. So much pain that they couldn’t even cry out loud. Just cry silently as Supervillain worked to keep them alive. “It’s ok, Villain. Keep your eyes open. It’s ok. I’ve got you.”

Febuwhump day 17 - silent tears
I keep taking these kinda loosely but I also do not care <3 I’m happy enough with how this turned out anyway
Sprite is oot/mm Link, Hibiscus is alttp, oos/ooa, and la Link.
Courage of ages explanation
————————————————————
“Ow.”
“Ugh... Seconded. Who knew moblins could kick so hard?”
Sprite groaned, pulling himself out of the bush he’d landed in. “Slate probably did,” he grumbled. “His stupid monsters are jerks.”
He brushed several leaves and twigs off himself, and watched Hibiscus do the same, glancing up at the cliff they’d been kicked off.
A group of monsters had taken them by surprise on the narrow path, and a chain of several bad decisions had led to Sprite being kicked into Hibiscus, unbalancing then sending them both tumbling down the cliffside.
Fortunately Hibiscus had managed to pull out a weird feather of some kind that slowed their descent enough so that they merely crashed into the bushes instead of breaking their necks on the rocks, but Sprite was still scratched up and bruised from the fall, and his knee was bleeding a little.
He spat out a leaf, and sighed, wincing when his chest ached. Man, he’d probably have a bruise from where he got kicked too. Ugh.
“We need to get back up there,” Sprite grumbled, pulling a twig out of his hair. “You okay enough to climb?”
“I’m fine,” Hibiscus nodded, dusting off his tunic and replacing the flower that had fallen from his hair. “I just got a little knocked around. I’ll be— wait.”
He froze, and looked at his tunic, patting down his chest and neck with a confused expression.
“My necklace, I— where is it?” he breathed. Then he began to pat himself more frantically, looking in his shirt and falling to his knees to search around at the ground beneath him. “I can’t find it, it’s not on me Sprite I can’t find it—”
“Whoa, calm down Hib, I’m sure it’s here somewhere,” Sprite said with a raised eyebrow. “It probably just came loose when we fell, stop freaking out. Is it really so important?”
“Yes,” Hibiscus snapped, shooting him a look, and Sprite froze at the unusual panic in his voice.
“Okay, okay... well I bet it’s right around here somewhere,” he said a little awkwardly, getting down on his knees. He began searching through the grass for the necklace, in the opposite direction from Hibiscus, pointedly ignoring the other while unease simmered in his guts.
Hibiscus never snapped at anyone like that. Even when he got angry, he usually took a firm tone, but not... snappy.
Boy, maybe he hit his head on the way down.
Neither of them spoke for what felt like a long time, leaves rustling as they looked around. Sprite hissed in pain when he accidentally stuck his hand into some thorns, but nothing was comparing to the racket Hibiscus was making a little ways away, tearing frantically through the leaf litter.
Sprite had seen the chain around Hibiscus’s necklace before: he’d never seen him take it off in fact. But he didn’t really know what it looked like aside from the chain, whether it had any charms or a pendant, different colors or anything on it.
And he sure wasn’t having any luck finding it.
After what was a solid fifteen minutes of fruitless searching, Sprite decided that some defining features would help. He glanced over at where Hibiscus was searching, and opened his mouth to ask what the necklace looked like.
But the words died in his throat, and he stared in shock.
Tears were dripping down Hibiscus’s cheeks as he pawed around the leaf litter, eyes wide and movements frantic. Sprite continued to stare, and felt a sharp wave of uncomfortableness roll over him as he watched more tears fall down his face.
Nayru preserve him, he was terrible at emotions.
“...Hib?”
Hibiscus paused in his frantic search, mopping a sleeve over his face. He looked over at him, eyes glassy, and Sprite hesitated.
“This is really important, isn’t it?” he asked quietly.
Hibiscus swallowed thickly, and nodded, looking away.
“Sprite I can’t lose this necklace,” he whispered. “It’s all I... it would be like you losing your ocarina, I just can’t.”
“Okay,” Sprite said softly, and went back to looking, much more determined now.
If this was as important to Hibiscus as his ocarina was to him, he’d search with him all day if he had to.
Sprite slowly worked his way closer to the bottom of the cliff where they’d fallen, searching for any kind of sparkle or glint of the chain. Hibiscus had gone in the other direction, deeper into the bushes, and as Sprite looked around in the dirt, he absently thought through all of his items, wishing one of them could help. Too bad Gloam isn’t here, he’d sniff it out in seconds.
He was about to give up and go look in Hibiscus’s direction again when something shone in the corner of his eye. Sprite jogged over to it, and smiled at the sight of the necklace caught in a bush.
He began to untangle it, studying the thing as he worked. The slender chain was the same as he remembered, but a small wooden ring hung on the end of it, lightly enchanted not to break he could tell. There were a few designs carved around it, nothing fancy, but obviously made with a lot of care.
Sprite carefully tugged it loose, and cradled it in his hands.
“I think I found it Hib!” he called, and the other hero nearly tripped in his haste to reach his side, reaching for the necklace as soon as he saw Sprite holding it.
He looked it over frantically, running a shaky thumb over the tiny carvings, turning it over in his hands several times. Then he held it close, eyes shut tightly as he breathed out a shaky breath.
“Yeah. This is it. Thank you Sprite.”
“No problem,” he muttered a little awkwardly.
He shuffled his feet as Hibiscus put the necklace securely into his pouch, running a thumb along the wood one last time before setting it away.
“Sorry about... freaking out,” Hibiscus said in a quiet voice. He breathed out a little shakily, and rubbed his eyes, subtly trying to remove the moisture from his cheeks. “That ring means a lot to me.”
“Yeah... I kinda figured. Where’d you get it?” Sprite asked curiously. “Did someone make it for you?”
Hibiscus was silent a moment, a strange emotion shining in his eyes. Then he turned away, walking back towards the cliff.
“Yeah. Someone did. Come on, we need to get back to the others.”
Sprite watched him go for a few moments, blinking in confusion. That was it? Just a quick brush-off? He wasn’t going to get any explanation?
He huffed out a sigh, then followed Hibiscus, several questions burning on the tip of his tongue. But he didn’t ask them.
He had a feeling he wouldn’t get any answers.

Silent Tears (Read the warnings before proceeding. Dead Dove Do Not Eat.)
Day 17 for @febuwhump . Yes, I skipped forward on the other prompts that I'm still catching up on. If I don't get this out of my brain I'll lose my mind. I might have to abandon febuwhump entirely though and just work through the prompts at a different time. My fic for the steddie big bang is heavy whump and doing this too isn't really doing me any mental favours 😅
So now. CONTENT WARNING. *Pinches the bridge of my nose* This is a noncon story. The characters are trans male Steve Harrington and dark/creep/perv!Eddie Munson. We're all grown up here (or at least we should be because this is an 18+ blog and I block minors) so we can all put 2 and 2 together on what's going to be under the cut. It's exactly what you think it is. I'll say it one more time. This is a noncon story, it is a dead dove fic with rape as the subject matter. Do not act surprised when it's exactly what I've said it is.
2264 words. Rated E (obviously). Modern AU, no powers, no upside down, no kids. Characters aged in mid 20s.
Story below the cut. You're responsible for yourself from here on out.
Remember me fondly as the writer you thought I was before reading this. See you in hell <3

Eddie heard a rumour.
He wasn’t really one to listen to idle gossip, but whenever it concerned Steve Harrington, he paid attention. Steve, who had been on the fringes of Eddie’s social group for about a year now, who never seemed to have a girlfriend, who seemed to pick and choose who he spoke to about his past.
Eddie was always going to have his interest peaked by someone like that.
Eddie watched Steve for a long time. They flirted back and forward after a few drinks whenever they saw each other, but Steve always shut it down if Eddie got too close. He always batted Eddie’s hands away if he tried to touch his thigh or put an arm around his waist. God, he was such a tease. Eddie wasn’t against chasing after someone who was playing hard to get though, it was half the fun. Eddie revelled in the glances that Steve shot him while others spoke, especially if he tried to act like he hadn’t been staring in the first place. It was cute to look over and see Steve looking the entire opposite direction, as if Eddie didn’t already know how badly he wanted them to make eye contact instead.
But fine, Eddie could play this little game for a while if it meant finally getting his prize.
So when someone whispered in Eddie’s ear at the bar one night that they’d been to visit Steve and his roommate at the same time Steve’s mom was there, yeah, Eddie took notice. They told all about how Steve’s mom kept throwing a name around, one that definitely wasn’t his. Eddie rolled his eyes at first, pushed his friend away and said no way, man. But as time went by, Eddie couldn’t help but let the idea float higher in his brain.
A friend’s house party was the perfect setting to finally find out. To stop the hunt, and go in for the kill. The house was big, plenty of bedrooms that had been locked in advance of everyone arriving much to Eddie’s dismay. But there was a small laundry room between the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom that was well enough out of the way. It wasn’t exactly what Eddie had pictured when he thought about getting his hands on Steve, but it’d have to do. He was sure Steve would be happy to let him make it up to him in other ways.
Eddie watched Steve all night, closer than he had been before. Steve must have known that their little game was turning up a notch because he definitely didn’t look Eddie’s way all night. He acted like he was fully immersed in his glass of gin and the girls who cackled around him. It drove Eddie wild, and his brain was fried imagining Steve feeling the same way. He was practically bursting out of his jeans at the thought of how the night might end. They could put the pretence behind them at last and Steve could stop acting like he didn’t even notice Eddie.
It was almost 2am by the time the chance came. Eddie was hanging out in the kitchen listening to someone who might have been called Michelle cry about her boyfriend. Eddie’s advice of “If he’s such a cunt then dump him” wasn’t very well received and she just wailed even louder. Two of her friends came over and glared at him, and when he rolled his eyes, he caught sight of Steve going towards that downstairs bathroom.
Bingo.
Eddie waited until he heard the sound of the door closing before following down the hallway, and slipped into the laundry room. He left the door cracked open, and when Steve had washed his hands and was making his way back to the kitchen, Eddie shot his hand out, and grabbed his wrist. Steve gave a small wail of surprise as he was pulled into the room.
“Shhh sweetheart, it’s only me,” rumbled Eddie into Steve’s ear, holding his waist tight and pressing his weight forward. The room was dark so it took Steve a second to figure out who had him pinned against the wall.
Steve tried to push Eddie’s hands away from him and started to make loud protests, but Eddie clamped a hand over his mouth.
“I said quiet,” he said, firmer than before. The door was still open a crack and a line of light from the hallway left a strip across Steve’s face.
Steve whimpered behind Eddie’s hand, his eyes wide. He was still trying to wriggle free.
“I heard something about you,” whispered Eddie right into Steve’s ear. “Think maybe I should find out for myself if it’s true,”
Steve froze as Eddie’s other hand moved from his waist onto the button of his jeans.
“That’s ok, right?” purred Eddie, flicking the button open. Steve pushed back towards the wall and tried to shake his head loose from the hand over his mouth. Eddie flexed his fingers into Steve’s cheeks. “Stop that,”
Eddie unzipped Steve’s jeans and pushed his hand in, pausing to play with the loose material at the front of his boxers. Steve’s breathing was shallow and fast now. If Eddie wasn’t so sure that it was from excitement, he might think it was panic. As his fingers dipped into Steve’s underwear, Eddie removed his hand from his face and instead placed it around Steve’s neck. No pressure, not yet. Not until he thought Steve might like it. He licked over Steve’s trembling mouth.
“Oh shit, sweetheart,” said Eddie, rubbing over Steve’s pussy. “The rumours are true,”
“Please, please don’t, please stop,” whined Steve as Eddie’s middle fingers slipped in between his folds.
“I’m just gonna feel it, that’s all, just gonna feel how much you want me,” cooed Eddie, kissing Steve in a sloppy open mouthed movement. “You’ve been such a tease, I think I deserve this,
Steve shook his head again, hands frantically trying to push Eddie back. Eddie was stronger than he was though, even though they were the same height. Steve was stuck. Eddie moaned lightly as his fingers breached Steve’s hole.
“So warm, feels so good,” breathed Eddie. “Bet it’s a pretty one too, huh? Pretty boy like you must have a real pretty pussy,”
Steve sniffled.
“Don’t be shy now, come on,” said Eddie, rocking his hand back and forward, tightening the hand around Steve’s neck. “You can talk to me,”
“I’ll yell, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll call someone,” stammered Steve. “You can’t… I don’t want this…”
Eddie chuckled. He pulled his hand out from between Steve’s legs and pushed the jeans down further, exposing him completely.
“Sure you do,” he said, looking down to admire the sight in front of him. “Look how wet you are for me. We don’t have to play this game anymore, you can enjoy it, it’s ok,”
“I’ll scream, I’ll scream so loud,” said Steve again.
Eddie sighed and rested his forehead against Steve’s.
“No you won’t,” he said plainly, gently petting over the skin between Steve’s legs again. Steve was shaking with what Eddie assumed must be anticipation. He was delighted. “You’re scared people will find out about this,” He gave a small squeeze to the mound for emphasis. “You don’t trust any of them, out there, do you? You don’t know how they’ll react. That’s why you never told anyone,”
Eddie felt Steve deflate, and smiled, knowing he’d won this round.
“Please don’t,” said Steve quietly.
“This would be so much easier if you just relaxed,” said Eddie, slipping his fingers inside Steve again.
Eddie used his other hand to start fiddling with his own jeans, unbuckling his belt and quickly unzipping.
“Please no, please no, please,” pleaded Steve.
Eddie just smiled as he took his dick out, stroking It slowly.
“Is it how you imagined, sweetheart?” asked Eddie, brushing their noses together. “All those times I caught you looking at me, is this how you thought my cock would look?”
A tear slid down Steve’s cheek now and Eddie smiled wider. It was so great that Steve was so happy to be here with him. It didn’t even matter that they weren’t in a bedroom, this was perfect.
Eddie slotted a knee between Steve’s and pushed his legs open as much as the jeans around his thighs would allow.
“Gonna make you feel so good,” sighed Eddie, rubbing the head of his dick over Steve’s pussy. Steve let out a yelp and Eddie clamped a hand back over his mouth. “But only if you’re quiet,”
Eddie’s voice had an edge of warning now. Steve squirmed as Eddie bent his knees a little to line himself up.
“I’ve been wanting to fuck you for a long time,” said Eddie, breathless as he pushed into Steve’s hole. “Fuck you feel amazing, feels so good to finally get you on my dick,”
Steve was crying openly now, tears hitting the top of Eddie’s hand. Eddie rocked his hips forward in increments to get his dick as far inside Steve as the awkward angle would allow. Steve pressed his hands to the wall behind him, hoping desperately that it might just fall down.
“Would’ve, oh shit, yeah that’s it, would’ve preferred to have you in a bed but,” Eddie huffed out a low laugh. “Ah, ah, this’ll do. It’ll be a fun story to tell people for our first time, right?”
Steve’s eyes were screwed shut as Eddie put his other hand on the small of Steve’s back to roll their bodies together.
“Hope I’m not hurting you,” said Eddie, kissing Steve’s cheekbones and licking away the tears that were there. “I know my dick is big but you’ll get used to it,”
A sound from outside the door made Eddie stop moving. Steve’s eyes shot open and he looked towards the sliver of light that was cast over them. Some of the girls from the kitchen were making their way to the bathroom. Eddie held his face level with Steve’s, and raised the index finger of the hand that was over his mouth. Eddie pressed the finger against his own lips, in a gesture to tell Steve to keep quiet.
Eddie let his hips twitch forward again in a few experimental thrusts, eyes locked with Steve’s, making sure he was making no noise. Eddie’s grin returned as Steve made no effort to get noticed by the people right outside. He just closed his eyes again. When the girls finished up in the bathroom and the sound of footsteps faded back towards the kitchen, Eddie spoke again.
“Good boy, Stevie, fuck, such a good boy,” he puffed. “Knew you wanted this just as much as I did, you didn’t want them to interrupt us either,”
Steve’s shoulders bounced now as he sobbed while Eddie fucked into him.
“Oh shit,” said Eddie, his voice strained as the rhythm he built up started to falter. “I’m not gonna last much longer here, I’m usually much better at this but jesus your pussy just feels too good. Maybe next time you’ll get to come too,”
Steve started to try and speak against Eddie’s hand. Eddie moved it aside to hear what he had to say.
“Don’t come in me, please, please don’t come in me,” he whimpered.
Eddie laughed softly again, the sound making Steve’s stomach turn.
“No can do, sweetheart,” he said. “Boys like you are on the pill, right? So what’s the problem?”
“Please don’t,” sobbed Steve again quietly. “Please don’t, please,”
Too late.
Eddie snapped forward three times in rapid succession, burying his face in Steve’s neck to cover the grunt he let out. It was a good thing no one chose that moment to walk to the bathroom because the sound of skin slapping on skin was definitely loud enough to draw attention.
Eddie lifted his head up and planted an wet open mouth kiss on Steve’s cheek. He bit the skin there and held it between his teeth as he pulled out and tucked his dick back into his pants.
Eddie leaned back and pulled Steve’s jeans back up for him, smirking as he lifted the zip and refastened the button.
“You were perfect,” Eddie told him. “Just like I knew you would be,”
Steve lifted a hand and wiped the tears from his face, looking at the ground. Eddie put a knuckle under his chin to lift his head up, forcing eye contact.
“So can we act like adults now, hmm?” he asked. “Can we be less coy about how badly we want each other? Because I gotta tell you sweetheart, I’m gonna want this again real soon,”
Eddie grabbed Steve’s ass roughly and grinded them both together.
“Don’t worry though,” said Eddie, putting small kisses over Steve’s mouth and inhaling the little cries that were coming out. “I won’t tell anyone your little secret. I wouldn’t want to have to share,”
Eddie stepped back fully now and made sure his own jeans and belt were fully done up. He smoothed down the front of his shirt and put his hand on the doorknob.
“I’ll call you, I promise,” Eddie winked and pulled the door open, and was gone. He made his excuses shortly after to leave the last dregs of the party. No one cared who was or wasn’t there at this time of night anyway.
When Steve was found an hour later, on the floor of the laundry room with his knees against his chest, he blamed the fact that he was sobbing on the gin for making him an emotional drunk.

Febuwhump Day 17: Silent Tears (Twilight)
AO3 link. This is a bit pain BUT there's comfort at the end! I might post the other idea I had with more pain an no comfort if I have extra time to write today. We shall see.
Warnings: some body horror, panic attack.
Requested by Andorudoru on AO3. Enjoy!
The comforting sounds of the campfire cracking and popping put Twilight’s mind at ease. Wild was cooking his favorite soup, and the smell was wafting throughout the forest. It felt like a comforting hug, strengthened by the sounds of his brothers’ laughter.
Time and Warriors were telling a story, and Wind, Hyrule, and Sky were captivated. Legend and Four were playing some sort of card game, but Twilight couldn’t follow what the rules were supposed to be. He thought Four was winning, but he really couldn’t be sure.
Wild set the lid on the pot to let it simmer. He nudged Twilight with his elbow, eyes on Time and Warriors.
“Let’s go hear the story!” Wild said. He grabbed a corner of Twilight’s pelt and dragged him over. Twilight laughed and swatted him away half-heartedly. They settled on the forest floor next to Sky, Wild leaning against his side comfortably.
“The journey was finally over,” Warriors said. “The hero defeated the monster, and he was reunited with his princess and his companion in her Hylian form. She was breathtaking.”
Twilight’s brows curled in confusion. There was no way they could know, but that almost sounded like…
“But it was not meant to last,” Time said. “The companion turned to her hero, a single tear running down her cheek. ‘As long as that mirror’s around, we could meet again,’ she said.”
Twilight's heart skipped a beat, then dropped into his stomach. His blood ran cold as he pushed himself to his feet. “How do you know that?” Twilight asked, heart beating madly. No one seemed to hear him.
“Her tear floated to the mirror, her only connection to the hero’s world,” Warriors said, one hand outstretched in theatrics.
“Stop,” Twilight said, voice shaking.
“As soon as the tear touched the mirror, it started to crack,” Sky said.
Twilight whipped his head around. Sky had his head tilted to the side, and his face contorted in an imitation of a smile. All around him, the world began to crack. The trees disappeared into darkness, the ground shook, and the sky looked like it had lightning streaks burnt into it.
“Link…” Midna said.
Twilight gasped, falling backwards in shock. He desperately looked around the clearing, but she was nowhere to be found.
“Twilight,” Wild said. There was a pressure behind his eyes, in his chest, constricting his throat, as Twilight looked at Wild. His face was cracking, shards falling away before Twilight’s eyes.
“No!” Twilight lunged for him, but his limbs were too heavy, he couldn’t move fast enough.
“Twilight, please,” Wind said, hands outstretched towards Twilight as he shattered.
“NO! Stop!” Twilight yelled. He was frozen in place, watching his family fall apart before his eyes.
“You could have stopped this,” Time said. His armor was rusted, and plants had taken over the space where his muscles used to be. His flesh cracked and leaked out of his armor, leaving behind a skeleton with glowing red eyes.
Twilight screamed.
“Twilight!”
Twilight jolted up, breath coming hot and fast. More words filtered into Twilight’s mind but he couldn’t comprehend what they meant. Someone grabbed his wrist and Twilight flinched violently.
“It’s just me, it’s okay.”
Twilight’s vision finally focused enough to see Wind kneeling in front of him. Wind put Twilight’s hand on his chest and Twilight felt the beating of his heart, his breaths evenly coming in and out.
“Can you breathe with me?” Wind asked.
Twilight blinked rapidly, clearing the blur from his eyes, and nodded. He closed his eyes and brought his legs up to his chest, letting his head rest on his knees. Wind scooted closer until he could wrap an arm around Twilight’s shoulders. He held Twilight’s hand over his heart until Twilight was able to follow his breaths.
It felt like it took a century, but Twilight eventually calmed down. He felt drained and exhausted, and his eyes burned. Twilight hastily wiped away his tears.
“Are you okay?” Wind whispered.
Twilight took a deep, grounding breath before he answered. “I’m alright,” he said. Twilight wrapped his own arm around Wind’s shoulders. Wind curled into his side and Twilight soaked in the comfort.
“Did I wake anyone?” Twilight asked. His voice was rough and scratchy.
“No,” Wind said. “You were crying, though. Bad dream?”
Twilight shook his head. “It’s over, now. You don’t need to worry about me.”
Wind huffed. “Will you shut up and let me help you? I’m a big brother, too, you know.”
Twilight smiled and huffed a laugh, ruffling a hand through Wind’s hair. “Okay, okay. You win this one, sailor.”
“Good,” Wind said. He shifted enough to wrap both arms around Twilight and squeezed him in a tight hug. “Do you want to talk about it?”
Twilight dropped his cheek into Wind’s hair with a weary sigh. “It… I lost someone, and I was remembering that. But instead of her-” Twilight’s voice broke. He tore his eyes open, not willing to see what lay beneath his eyelids. He focused on the dull glow of the campfire.
“It was all of you, too,” Twilight finished in a low voice. Wind squeezed him tighter.
“We’re not going anywhere,” Wind said. “You’ll make sure of that,” he added with a chuckle.
“You’re right about that,” Twilight said. He sighed again, and let the remnants of the nightmare fade from his body.
“I don’t think I’ll be falling asleep again,” Twilight said.
“Lucky for you, it’s almost morning. We’ll stay up together,” Wind said. He still hadn’t released his hold on Twilight. Twilight tightened his arm around Wind’s shoulders.
“Thanks,” Twilight said.
Wind picked up his head and beamed. “Anytime! Now, do you want to hear about the time I swindled some rich people out of their most treasured possessions, or the time I found five different solid gold statues of the weirdest person I’ve ever met?”
Twilight laughed heartily, bringing up one arm to muffle it into his sleeve. “I’m all for tricking rich folk,” Twilight said.
“Excellent,” Wind said. He squirmed until he was once again curled into Twilight’s side but had his hands free for maximum storytelling potential. “So, there’s this one island…"

Day 17 - Silent Tears
Medical setting, physical therapy, angst, crying, nerve damage and paralysis, recovery, wheelchair use, surgery and pain medication mention
[Follows Bear's Body]
The physical pain was never as bad as the frustration. It shouldn’t have been this difficult - was he doing it wrong? Was he too weak to will his body into cooperation? Was he an idiot for even trying?
Tears trailed down his face, but he was too focused on keeping his balance to lift a hand to wipe them away. Expression grim, he walked forward. One leg after the other, like a child learning to stumble for the first time. Starting from the left hip, lifting, bending the knee, leaning forward and -
He gripped the supports on either side of him as his knees buckled, muttering angry curses under his breath as he tried to right himself and regain his footing.
The automatic door to the room slid open and David held himself still, swallowing back his tears. If he was quiet enough, whoever it was wouldn’t notice...
“Christ, Dave - nearly gave me a heart attack.” Of course it was Awesome. “What are you - hey, we talked about this; you shouldn’t be in here alone.”
David shuffled himself forward along the supports, legs a deadweight pendulum. At least his upper body strength was the best it had ever been. Maneuvering himself into his chair was the hardest part, and an excuse to keep facing away from the doctor.
“I know, I know. Just - keeping busy. Hard to sit and watch crappy soap operas all day.” His voice was still strangled, but as long as he didn’t look - as long as Awesome didn’t see -
“Dave.” There it was, accompanied by a disappointed sigh. Awesome had brought out the Doctor Voice. “If there’s something-“
“I’m fine.” David couldn’t help but snap, finally secure enough in his chair to unlock the wheels and head for the exit. “See ya Doc.”
“David.” Awesome stepped in front of him, expression uncharacteristically serious in response to his patient’s glare. “What do you want?”
“…what?” It caught him off guard, the same way it had when Casey offered to order him his favorite takeout. Awesome stepped out of the way - David could roll away from this conversation if he wanted to - and sat down on one of the non-slip chairs.
“Normally, after an injury like yours, I try to gauge what the patient wants from their recovery. But I never asked you directly, so - what do you want?”
“I - I don’t, what’s that supposed to mean?”
“Do you want to walk again?” Awesome’s eyes held no judgement, but soft sincerity. “Do you want to take pain medication for the rest of your life? Do you want to even stay here, at the clinic, while you recover?”
“What I’m saying is you have options, David. I’m sorry I didn’t make this more clear when we first talked after your surgery. If you don’t want to do this - now or ever - you don’t have to. I won’t lie, it will be harder to try later, but not impossible. What you want, right now, is the priority when an immediate threat to your health isn’t the concern.”
David felt hollowed out, the words echoing in an empty skull. What did he want, right now?
“I don’t know.” It was a shaken exhale of whispered words, muffled against the padded floors and walls of the physical therapy room. Tears were falling again, sobs interrupting his words. “I - I don’t know if - if not now - it’s hard.”
“It’s alright Dave.” Awesome’s hand was warm and steady on his shaking shoulder. “Do you want to stop, until you do know?”
“No.” He hated how small his voice was, but he tried to sound confident. “No - no, but..I just, I can’t…”
“How about we take things a bit more slowly? Go back to the basics instead of jumping ahead at the first sign of progress. That sound like a plan for now?”
“Yeah.” David nodded vigorously, hiding his face in his hands even as he responded. “Yeah that - I, I would like that.”

silent tears
@febuwhump day 17
warnings: none
characters: whumpee, caretaker
232 words
---
“Whumpee?” Caretaker calls from the kitchen, “Are you coming down for dinner?”
Whumpee exhales sharply and rubs her eyes, “I’ll be down in a minute! Just need to finish something up!”
She turns onto her stomach and kicks her legs out from underneath her in one swift movement. She inhales deeply and flips over, hands coming up to her face; muffling her sobbing. She rolls off the bed and tosses the blanket back on the mattress.
“You’ve got this,” she says to herself, looking in the mirror. She takes a deep breath and runs her hands through her hair. Forcing a smile, she pushes the door open and walks down the hallway into the kitchen.
“What’s for dinner?” she asks.
Caretaker spins, hand over his heart, “You scared me.”
“Sorry.”
He waves his hand dismissively and gets plates from the dishwasher, “It’s just buttered noodles, we don’t have a whole lot right now.”
She smiles and gets silverware from a drawer, “Buttered noodle supremacy.”
He chuckles and takes one of the forks from her, “Hey, your eyes are red, are you alright?”
“Oh, yeah,” she shakes her head, “It’s my allergies. I ran out of my eyedrops and I’ve been rubbing them all day. I’m fine.”
He bites his lip and sighs, “Well alright. I can get some at the store tomorrow if you want?”
“Yeah, that’d be great, thanks.” she says.

Febuwhump Fills Difficultly Breathing, Knife wound, Silent Tears & Survivors Guilt
Viren has returned from death changed and nothing seems to work quite the way it ought to anymore.
Again on Ao3 as the link defaults..
Chapter 1, Chapter 2
Alright, for some reason this one was really hard, so I hope it’s okay..
Viren sits in the cave and stares at the burning embers of the fire. On the other side of it his daughter lies sleeping, next to him is the elf, Terry, face calm in repose. He can hear the soft sounds of their breathing, the occasional movement of fabric against the earth floor as they shift in their sleep. There is the occasional crackle and spit of the wood and in the darker corner of the cave he can hear the shuffle and scrape of Aaravos’s creature. It doesn’t ever really seem to sleep and he can see its beady eyes watching him, the slight glow of them shimmering in the fire’s fading light.
He sighs and rubs his eyes. He would like to lie down, to let sleep embrace him, but his dreams are troubled now. They are the dreams of a corpse, earth shovelled over it, lungs filling with cold, damp clods of dirt, hands reaching always for something that isn’t there, and he is afraid.
He sees the world differently now and it bothers him. Where once he had seen the bigger picture - the golden beauty of a sunrise colouring the sky, the slow gathering of the evening stars as twilight turns imperceptibly to night, the infinite patterns in the ripple of grass bent beneath the summer breeze, now he sees only the cracks in things.
He looks for the fissures in rocks and stones, the gnarled, twisted edges of a tree’s bark, the crevices in the dry soil that splits and fractures beneath his feet.
The world is full of broken places and he searches for them, absorbs them until they become a part of him. He is fractured. He is altered beyond his own recognition, and he tries and he tries to put the pieces back together but he can’t. Chunks of him seem to be missing now, and all he is left with is existence, nothing more.
Everything crumbles as he touches it, food is tasteless in his mouth, eating it just an exercise in existence and the world is covered with a film of sadness. If he picks at it, if he peels away at its edges there is nothing beneath it. It is as if he has consumed all the magic his body possesses, drawn his very soul out of him and extinguished it for an inconceivable spell, and the world has become grey. The colour will no longer come back and the fear of it gnaws at him, it follows him everywhere.
He starts slightly when the creature shifts in the darkness and takes a couple of slow steps towards the embers, it crouches there with its wings opening and closing, there is an odd beauty to their iridescent shine and it stares at him curiously.
He shuts his eyes, tries to forget the tiredness draped over him like a blanket, tries to forget the many awful ways his life went wrong. It is one thing to tell Terry to get a grip, the words sound right, like the only way to survive when the world throws its pain at you, but he has nothing to grip onto.
He fell, and there was nothing but air, it slipped through his fingers without substance. It returns to him in odd moments so that he feels as if he is falling again, it seems more real than anything else in this world. Leaves his heart thumping and the blood racing thick to his head, leaves him feeling untethered from everything and everyone.
Now he feels the many ways he died before death actually claimed him, the loss of each person that he had loved, until all he has left is Claudia and the depth of her love terrifies him, as if it is his fault alone.
These are the times when the other life he might have had seems to hover at the brink of him. He doesn’t want to see it, doesn’t want to picture it, but it is there. A life without magic, the life of an ordinary man, the life he had fought tooth and nail to escape. Still it comes to him, the vision of it imprints itself on his closed eyes, his wife who would still be there at his side, his children who would love him, who he wouldn’t have hurt. Only it is not quite so simple, for his son would be erased from that picture, it is only a delusion. It could never really exist.
It is the helplessness he feels as the picture fades that makes him cry, brings tears that he must keep silent to his eyes, wraps its anguish around him.
Helpless, he is helpless. There is no way to change anything, the same choices would always be made somehow or everything would slip away anyway. It is the inevitability of life, it seems so full of rich potential, yet it is so oddly preordained from the first breath of air that comes retching into lungs.
His sadness is for so many things he cannot find the bottom of it, for the boxes the world had put him in, heavy like tombs with lids of stone, impossible for him to escape. For the love of a mage who had been more than a father to him, who had saved him, and earnt his unending devotion. For the love of a king he would have done anything to please, a kingdom he only wished to benefit. For the love of a wife who would have chosen him, who had asked only that he didn’t destroy himself. For the love of a son he had needed to save, as if saving that life could somehow save his own. For the love of a daughter who he has led to the same tomb he inhabits, who he has pulled into the darkness after him.
He had put the lid on his own coffin and he’d pounded it shut, but didn’t they help him climb into it, hand him the hammer and nails?
He weeps for the man he could have been and he weeps for the man that he is, the tears burn heavy behind his eyes. It hurts to keep the sobs silent, there is an agony to it that breaks in his heart. All his love misplaced somehow, buried by his baser traits, and he feels hands pushing at him and pulling at him until he wants to shout. What had they ever wanted from him? What did they think he had to give?
He weeps for father he could have been, for the son he had lost, who he would always have lost, to death, or to his own degeneration. For the daughter who walks the same path as him, who he has let down more than anyone, who is the only thing he has left.
He has to fight to stifle the sobs, to stop them from echoing out into the cave and he shakes with the effort of it, with the overwhelming sadness that is his life now.
He had died, and there was nothing in the grave, death was implacable and he ceased to exist.
The creature, and he cannot bear to call it by the name his daughter has bestowed on it, moves towards him slowly. Its gait is shuffling, head tipped curiously to one side, shifting from knuckles to feet and back again, it ought to be disturbing but he has grown oddly used to its presence.
It is another living thing in the world and it pauses beside him, and he is struck by the way all living creatures seem to share some strange compassion for the suffering of others, as if they can sense it. It places its hand on his shoulder, watches him, as if he too understands this life is simply one of sorrow and of pain, but there is a web that holds them together, some thin web of empathy that is spun over everything.
A little more of him dies each day, a little more is lost, and the pieces scatter on the path behind him like rice after a wedding day for the birds to peck at.
He will survive for one thing now and she lies sleeping on the other side of the fire. He has walked with his choices, he had tried to win the fight. Now it has beaten him and he is exhausted, the tears dry heavy in his eyes and he rubs them away with the back of his sleeve.
He feels the creature lay its head against his shoulder, its warm skin oddly comforting against his own. He has no idea of what matter it is composed, only that is one more thing living and breathing the hopeless air of this world beside him.
Its hand reaches up and touches his head, there is a strange consolation to it, and the sadness tightens in his chest.
