On this day in 1920, a bomb exploded outside Federal Hall on Wall Street, killing 38 people and injuring hundreds more. A man driving a horse-drawn cart had stopped in front of the US Assay Office, next to Federal Hall and across from JP Morgan's headquarters and the Stock Exchange. The many quickly disappeared into the crowd and minutes later the cart exploded, instantly killing 30. The New York Stock Exchange was immediately closed, and JP Morgan's chief clerk was killed. There were many theories into the bombing; attempted assassination of JP Morgan, who turned out to be in Europe; an attempt to rob the Sub Treasury, which planned to transport $900 million in gold bars that day; or communists who wanted to send a message, at the center of American capitalism. The FBI was never able to solve the case but pointed towards Italian anarchists, confirming it was an intentional act of terrorism, then the deadliest in the United States. Today you can still see the damage on the limestone facade of 23 Wall (JP Morgan Building) from the bomb's shrapnel. #onthisday #nyc #wallstreet #wallstreethistory #nyse #nysehistory #stockexchange #newyorkstockexchange #federalhall #jpmorgan #23wall #23wallstreet #nyhistory #nychistory #skyscraper #skyline #fidi #fidinyc #urbanism #urbanhistory #manhatan #downtownnyc #manhattanhistory #nycurbanism (at Wall Street) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFNczTUHiI2/?igshid=sj2tuj4zww37

Of NASDAQ, Buttonwoods and Limestone
On Friday, February 18, 2022 Indiana State alumnus Michael Alkire, ’85 (Computer Science), President & CEO of Premier Inc., led the ringing of the Nasdaq Stock Market opening bell at the Nasdaq headquarters in Times Square, New York.
But what about the buttonwoods and limestone? For that you’ll have to read the short article at https://www.indstate.edu/business/news/2022/#nasdaq

The Federal Hall. There are huge privilages of studying architecture in New York, that I found. You basically get a semi-private tour guide that knows in details the most significant buildings in terms of architecture and highly encourages you to explore those, spend hours and draw, learn plans, be highly attentive to the structure, movement of people, the connection of purpose of the building to the shape of it. And also you're pretty frequently exposed to the aesthetically pleasant works of art. *I was walking around taking pictures while my professor was giving a lecture to the whole group and I'm not sorry😂* . . . . . #icu_architecture #jj_architecture #creative_architecture #arkiromantix #tv_architectural #archimasters #excellent_structure #interior #instahome #homedecor #interior4all #decoration #interiores #furniture #homestyle #interiors #nycprimeshot #what_i_saw_in_nyc #ig_nycity #ig_great_shots_nyc #icapture_nyc #sonyimages #sonyalpha #sonyalphasclub #sonyphotogallery #federalHall #photographer_newyork (at Federal Hall National Memorial)

We had a blast at free #nightatthemuseum downtown. Had a difficult conversation at the #911TributeMuseum, had a blast at the #chinainstitutenyc with brush painting ( with a lovely and caring teacher), live music, tour and movies, visited #federalhall and had dinner at #francestavern , where Hamilton went before the first day of the revolution. #momanddadcentral #homeschooling #homeschoolinginnyc #welovemuseums https://www.instagram.com/p/BzMEjAinzyE/?igshid=13j23yctg1fa6

Algunas tomas de Wall Street. Se puede observar en las fotos: Donald Trump Tower, Trinity Church, el edificio de la Bolsa de Valores de NY, Federal Hall y el rascaielos mas grande de Nueva York, One World Trade Center.
