The Besties Ever

I love these two, so much. I'm not 100% confident with my Mei design just yet but it's getting close! I'm so tempted to give her scales & a tail but wanted to keep her more human, I guess I'm just worried about Tang being to bland among his animal/creature featured friends.

Also, I find it funny that I decided on giving MK top surgery because doing everything he does in a binder isn't safe... and then I gave them these baggy ass clothes that are also not safe.

Anyways! Flags & Symbols! Mei is wearing both a lesbian flag pin (look at her hands for a more subtle hint that I hc her as a lesbian) & a pin for autism awareness (I'm pretty sure the rainbow infinity is the right one? I just know it's not the puzzle pieces). MK has a necklace with the trans flag & their pronouns.

Some other random design notes are the claws on Mei's sneakers, I like to think she also has wings on the back of her jacket, pointed ears (mostly covered by hair), & she also has fangs (not visible here ofc). MK, I just gave him the baggies clothes ever because I thought he looked cute in them, & he is wearing high-tops but you can't see them under the pants.

I love you, fics that take months to update. I click on the newest chapter and have no memory of this place and get to go back some chapters and rediscover how much i love everything about this story.

I love you, fics that take years to update. I think of you fondly, and know your names, go search for you and see an update from this year and scream, diving in uncaring of any missed details (i will finish the update and read you in reverse because this is a treat you have bestowed)

I love you, fics that probably will never update again. Thank you for being a roman empire for my mind, thank you for teaching me about the ephemeral fandom experience, for inspiring a thousand million what if-s, for being a comfort read and a nostalgia read and a reread.

The Killer

So I was hanging out with some friends last night, and for whatever reason, we got onto the subject of whether or not we sleep with the bedroom door closed. Apparently it's safer in case of fires? But it turns out that most of my friends keep their bedroom door closed because of concerns about The Killer, aka, a person breaking into their house at night with the express intention of murdering them.

For the purposes of this poll, "I share a house/apartment" is for situations where you have your own bedroom, but there are other people living with you; "I share a bedroom" is for situations where there is another person sleeping in the same room.

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good

Here's an updated Salah posted last night, after he and his family were displaced for the sixth time:

Please help us, we are being subjected to genocide in Gaza. Hours ago, a house was bombed next to the place where we are and escaped death miraculously. Help us get out of Gaza in order to preserve our children.

Though Salah and Manar started out with the hopes of rebuilding, they've now made the difficult choice to begin saving up for an evacuation. Their campaign, however, is still very low on funds, and its been stagnating completely for the last few days, leaving them with barely enough for their immediate survival.
