As Ninth Princess of Xi State, I married into the Li Empire. I did it for the continued peace of Xi State and the Li Empire. Today, if you must still cross swords on the battleground, then I have failed in my duty to my Father. I’ve failed Consort Mingyuan. I have also failed the Grand Empress Dowager. But most importantly, I have failed tens of thousands of people of the Xi State. If today you really must start this battle, regardless of which side I stand with, it is betrayal. There, if my life can wake Elder Brother and Crown Prince to the truth, can bring back true peace and happiness to Xi State, then I will not have any more regrets. Gu Xiaowu. You once promised to do three things for me. Do you still remember? You still owe me two things. I want you to definitely do them. The first thing is that for the rest of your life, the armoured cavalry of the Central Plains will never enter Xi State again, not even half a step! The last thing! Promise me that you will live well.

Biography of Feng Jing (ZS22)
[He was from Hejian and served as an official on the staff of Xiao Baoyin (the exiled Qi prince) and later Heba Yue and Yuwen Tai.]
Feng Jing, courtesy name Changming, as young had the same aspirations and was friends with [Zhou] Huida. Middle of Yanchang [512 – 515], people of Liang robbed and plundered Xu and Yang. Jing spoke to Xiao Baoyin, saying:
Now the Liang bandits rely on infringing, and the imperial court is pondering on a general to stabilize the border. Suppose you my King was able to be first to race ahead and conform with the instructions, not only would it wipe away the shame of your house and state, but this also would sustain a person's long term strategies.
Baoyin deeply considered it so. When Baoyin became Great Chief Controller, he used Jing as Army Advisor of the Board of Merit. Later when he became Archer-Servant of the Right, he pulled in Jing to enter the department and act as Chief Head Clerk to the Masters of Writing.
Middle of Zhengguang [520 – 525], when Baoyin became Great Acting Tribunal of Guanxi, he again made use of Jing as General of Hills and Rivers, acting as Chief Head Clerk to the Acting Tribunal. He accompanied Baoyin on his campaigns and chastisements. When Baoyin was about to raise troops in rebellion, Jing firmly admonished and did not follow.
After Baoyin was defeated, Jing turned back to Luo. The imperial court had previously heard Jing had talked admonishingly, and for that reason pardoned him. He was appointed Chief Commandant of Serving Chariots. When the King of Ruyang, Yuan Shuzhao, became Great Acting Tribunal of Longyou, he nominated Jing to be Gentleman-at-Centre to the Acting Tribunal.
When Heba Yue became Great Chief Controller, he again used Jing as Central Gentleman Engaged in Affairs. When Taizu pacified Houmochen Yue¤, he appointed Jing Grand Warden of Luoyang, and soon after Combined Left Assistant to the Acting Tribunal, and kept him behind to defend Yuan province. When Xiaowu of Wei moved west, he was ennobled Earl of Gaoyang county, with an estate of 300 households. He moved to Cavalier in Regular Attendance and Master of Writing to the Acting Tribunal, and additionally Inspector of Ying瀛 province. Beginning of Datong [535 – 551], he Acted on the Affairs of Jing涇 province. Later he passed on due to illness.

Shengzhuang Mountain and River
Chapter 2
*Machine Translation*
Liu was startled and quickly covered her mouth with a handkerchief: "Why are you vomiting blood? Come, take Miss Fourth back quickly and call a doctor."
Xiaowu stamped his feet anxiously. He was eager to carry Yunluan out.
Unfortunately, he was too small and could not bear Yun Luan's weight.
The eldest sister-in-law was stronger and loved to wield swords and guns, so she ran over without saying a word and asked the second sister-in-law to help Yunluan up and put her on her back.
Liu cried and helped, and several people supported Yunluan and hurried to Luanfeng Pavilion.
When the maid Ruchun saw this scene, she was so scared that her eyes turned red and she cried and called out "Young Master".
After a while, my eldest brother, second brother, and father came hurriedly.
The third sister dragged the breathless doctor inside. Under the anxious gaze of everyone, the doctor nervously took the patient's pulse and checked the condition.
Yun Luan looked at the familiar relatives in front of her with a dazed look.
The eldest brother, the second brother, the eldest sister-in-law, the second sister-in-law, and the third sister.
My father and mother are not dead, they are still alive...
  Her eyes gradually became blurred.
She wanted to reach out and hug them, but her whole body was very weak, and her eyelids were heavy, so she couldn't open them.
Liu's hand was always tightly holding Yunluan's hand, never loosening its grip at all.
In Liu's warm arms, Yun Luan's consciousness gradually became blurred uncontrollably, and she fell asleep unknowingly.
Half a quarter of an hour later, the doctor finished taking the fourth young lady's pulse. He said that the fourth young lady had caught a cold and was vomiting blood because of her emotional excitement and sudden blood attack.
He prescribed some medicine and briefly explained the situation.
The eldest sister-in-law went to see Doctor Zhou off. The family did not dare to disturb Yunluan's recuperation, so they quietly left the inner room and gathered in the hall.
The second sister-in-law asked the servants to serve tea and snacks.
Liu frowned deeply and looked at Yun Fuqing with a sullen face: "I told you not to lock her up for so long, but you were so cruel to lock her up. Now she has caught a severe cold and just vomited blood. My Luan'er, she has lost half her life this time."
Yun Fuqing had a stern face and said nothing.
Liu became more and more angry as she watched.
"What do you mean by not saying anything? I'm going to say this today. If Luan'er likes Prince Rui, then let her like him. No one in our family is allowed to object... If we object again, will Luan'er still be alive? This is my precious baby that I risked my life to carry for ten months. If you don't feel sorry for her, I do."
Third sister Yun Qing squeezed Liu's shoulder. She looked up at Yun Fuqing and echoed, "Father, mother is right. Since fourth sister is so devoted to Prince Rui, we shouldn't break them up."
"Yes, father, Xiao Si has been stubborn since she was young. She won't turn back until she hits the wall. If this goes on, she might really become desperate." The second brother Yun Feng has always been impatient and lost his temper, so he started to yell first.
He was only two years younger than Yunluan, and they always fought and played together. This was the first time he saw Yunluan looking so lifeless and terminally ill.
Seeing his usually lively and trouble-making sister become like this, he felt sadder than anyone else.
The second sister-in-law looked at Yun Feng's anxious look and she also gave him some advice.
Little Yunhuai has been dependent on Yunluan since he was young. His other brothers and sisters often had to go to the battlefield, but Yunluan was the only one who spent more time playing with him, so he was closer to Yunluan.
With red eyes, he ran straight to Yun Fuqing, knelt on the ground, and pulled his robe like a spoiled child.
"Dad, please have mercy on my fourth sister. Seeing her in so much pain, I feel bad too..."
The eldest sister-in-law turned her head and looked at the worried look in her husband's eyes. She sighed, looked at Yun Fuqing and followed suit to persuade him.
"Father, we all know Fourth Sister's personality. If we don't give in, I'm afraid she will fight to the end... I'm afraid she won't be able to marry Prince Rui and will die for him."
Yun Fuqing sighed, with a hint of helplessness in his eyes.
Everyone in this room is his flesh and blood. They love and care for Luan'er, so does he.
The fatherly love he had for Luan'er was no less than theirs.
But Prince Rui is not a good match for Luan'er at all.
However, no matter how much he talked, he still couldn't change Luan'er's heart.
Yun Fuqing closed his eyes, his face full of fatigue.
"The current emperor has five sons, and has not appointed a crown prince. These five sons are all adults, and each of them is outstanding. There is competition for the throne... Originally, our Yun family did not get involved in party disputes. We just watched those princes fight to the death, and we just kept to ourselves."
"Now that the incident three days ago has happened, our Yun family is destined to be inseparable from the Rui Palace. The situation is set, and our Yun family is bound to be involved in the stormy and treacherous struggle for the throne in the court."
Yun Shen usually considered everything he did, and at this moment, he had to say, "Father, even if Xiao Si had no involvement with Prince Rui, it would be impossible for our Yun family to remain unscathed. The fight for the throne is getting more intense, and no one can escape from this chaotic situation..."
Yun Feng calmed down for a rare moment and began to ponder the undercurrents between the General's Mansion and the royal family: "We have repeatedly distanced ourselves from those princes and refused to choose any of them. They will all regard us as a thorn in their side. They will feel that if a weapon cannot be used by them, they would rather destroy it than give it to others."
“By then, our General’s Mansion will be in dire straits. I’m afraid that before the Emperor has even decided on a candidate for the Crown Prince, our General’s Mansion will be the first to become a victim in their fight for the throne.” Yun Shen sighed worriedly.
These words from his two sons completely awakened Yun Fuqing.
  He stood up suddenly.
Yes, although the General’s Office does not participate in party struggles, they hold military power, and even if they try to keep out of trouble, they cannot escape from this political whirlpool.
The others stood up as well, looking at Yun Fuqing with eager and burning eyes.
  "Father……"
  "Father..."
Yun Fuqing looked back at them and replied word by word.
"Tomorrow when I go to court, I will personally ask the emperor for permission to grant Luan'er and Prince Rui a marriage in the Golden Palace."
  ——
In her dream, Yun Luan seemed to have returned to the scene before her death.
She watched in pain as Prince Rui Xiao Xuanrui walked towards her holding the pregnant Yin Bailian.
The loyal maid Ruchun angrily hit Yin Bailian's stomach, and Xiao Xuanrui kicked her away.
Ruchun died on the spot with blood splattering. Xiao Xuanrui squatted in front of Yunluan and narrated to her one by one how all the members of the Yun family died tragically.
There was pride flashing in his eyes. The death of the Yun family was like his military medal, and his face was full of boasting.
He said that it was he who designed the slander against the Yun family for plotting rebellion, and it was he who personally ordered the killing of 90,000 Yun family soldiers.
He even framed his third sister, who died to save him.
He deliberately ordered the soldiers to embarrass the women and children of the Yun family. In order to save her brother, the eldest sister-in-law hit her head on the guard's knife and died.

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 8
Tumblr media
I haven’t typed episode 7 yet, but I was busy subtitling episodes so yeah. After a super nice bath, I figured I could treat myself a little more with a sheet mask and a few episodes before going to bed. Costume drams are just so addicting to me and this one is just soooooo beautiful. I just can’t. And I have candle that smells super good soooo yeah! So nice! So happy!
Okay let’s get down to business. Last episode Zuo Qingluan gave suspicious pills to Feng wu and I want to know if she was dumb enough to eat them or not. Hopefully not.
So Zuo Qingluan is teaching Feng Wu swordsmanship but there is no improvement at all. Well Zuo Qingluan probably just wanted to check if she had any spiritual powers left. She leaves after receiving a not. Communication was very convenient back then, notes would always find their way. She tries to summon the colourful phoenix but he won’t come out of the ring. She’s feeling a little down and lies on the beach. Then Jun Linyuan comes and teaches her. He’s so elegant, seriously! Where can I get one me too?
So Zuo Qingluan was called back to the capital by their master to attend some special guest.
Feng Yiran goes to pay a visit to his aunt and brought her gifts as a token of his apology for what happened. She’s rather upset about it and wants him to leave but that annoying guy has something which he wants to discuss with her which is finding a good match for Feng Wu. Qiu Ling happens to hear that and she’s so shook that she drops the medicine she was bringing and runs away. That Feng Yiran is really an annoying dude and ennemies of Feng Wu will definitely take advantage of the fact that he’s so dumb.
Qiu Ling finds Feng Wu after they are done flying on Jun Linyuan’s sword. He’s kind of unwell but the news that Feng Yiran is looking for a husband to marry her makes the two girls leave without poor Jun Linyuan, probably having trouble because of his loveless venom.
Zuo Qingluan asks Feng Liu to assist Jun Linyuan in her stead while she’ll be gone. I hate that girl. She’s so... ugh. Well. At least Zuo Qingluan knows how to use people to her advantage. She tells her to focus on Jun Linyuan, but Feng Liu is still determined to take Feng Wu down. While Feng Wu is arguing with Feng Yiran and making it clear that she won’t get married as he decides, Feng Liu comes out with her whip. She’s definitely ready for a fight. Ugh. I so hate her, she’s a pain... Okay so she callenges her to a fight. If she wins Feng Wu has to give away the Phoenix Chant sword. If she loses, she’ll go back to the capital. Well that’s unfair. FEng Wu has no spiritual powers. Not to doubt her wit, but how could she win?
At the same time, Yu Mingye comes at Jun Linyuan. He shows him the pendant and say he will give it back if he tells him what’s his relationship with Feng Wu. But he won’t. That’s kind of dumb. They don’t have a relationship, what’s the point of hiding it?
So it’s a double fight. Feng Xun wants to help Feng Wu but neither he nor Xuan Yi can interfere with the business of the FEng family. They’ll save her last minute if needed. Yu Mingye asks Jun Linyuan to give him back his pendent and to hand Feng Xiaowu to him. Jun Linyuan figures out Feng Wu told Yu Mingye that he has captured Feng Xiaowu. So he hands back the pendent and leaves. Yu Mingye asks him why is he not fighting anymore and Jun Linyuan tells him he has been tricked again. Both of them now knows that Feng Xiaowu is Feng Wu. When Feng Liu is about to beat FEng Wu, the sword comes to her and her phoenix blood, well her master’s, mark appears on her forehead and she beats the crap out of Feng Liu. Right when Jun Linyuan arrives. Then she faints and everyone rushes to her side.
When Feng Wu wakes up, she hears the trio talking about interrogating her, so she runs away through the window and goes to see Old Ba who finished making the nine transformations spiritual restauration pill so she eats it and the taste is disgusting, as all good medicine are. Just when she’s done eating it, Jun Linyuan is on his way up to Old Ba’s place. While she’s trying to hide, Yu Mingye comes in through the window - he doesn’t like doors as we now know so well. He tries to hit on her but then Jun Linyuan is coming so she hides him behind the furnace. When she says she has no ties to the darknight court, Yu Mingye isn’t happy about it and comes out saying he wish they were working hand in hand but Feng Wu wouldn’t give him the chance of doing that. All of this activates yet once again the loveless venom and Jun Lin yuan summons his sword, drawing lightning from the sky. I feel poor Old Ba’s house will burn into ashes. Beut then Yu Mingye kidnaps Feng Wu. And Jun linyuan has pains again when he takes back control of himself.
Well Feng Wu won’t follow Yu Mingye to the darknight court and on her way home she saves a little boy that was bullied. And that triggers a memory to Yu Mingye and ugh. This character is going to break my heart, I can already feel it. It seems he was raised the harsh way. Poor baby. The ring is starting to act up so she leaves him behind. As soon as she’S alone, she goes into the ring. She tries to wake up her master but he’s still in deep sleep.
Jun Linyuan finds Yu Mingy and asks him where is Feng Wu. Oh wow. Fist fight. None of them wins over the other. Yu Mingye finally tells Jun Linyuan she went back home. Aww. Those two. The so would have been BFF if there were born in the same clan. This is such a shame. They so break my heart. I just know it so bad.
Yu Mingye gets called back by his father.
Feng Wu’s mom promises that Feng Wu will help Jun Linyuan to repay her debt for causing him that much trouble.  They organize some event that I don’t really get and during that time she apologize and young master Bi seem to take a liking to her and Feng Yiran notices that. Jun Linyuan seems to see also the looks of young master Bi on Feng Wu and he gives him the killer stare: he’s a possessive lad. Oh so basically they sent notes to the dad of Jun Linyuan to make him happy. Someone even compared him to Liu Bei and he doesn’t who it is. OMG. That’s... OMG. And he’s the big ruler. Wow... So lacking culture. I really like how they plug so many stories characters so far. It makes it more enjoyable to me.
Well there’s not much to say about my expectations for next episodes. Also I’m just moving on with episode 9 right now. A lot happened in this episode. I feel the story is starting to move on. See you in episode 9!

Urgh I freaking loved Goodbye My Princess. Its just so damn good it hurts. I feel like rewatching it and make myself a sobbing mess again.
Li Chengyin is such a great character. You love him but then you hate him! But you just hate that you love him. Ugh so good! We need more morally gray protagonists like him!

I was reading about Jangsu of Goguryeo and apparently, Liu Song went to war with him. Doesn't that seem impractical? Does the Samguk Sagi mention this?
Samguk Sagi does mention this:
Year twenty-six [438], spring, third month. Earlier when the king of Yan Feng [Heng] went to Liaodong, the King [Jangsu] sent an envoy to express appreciation [for making the trip] saying, “King of Longcheng Fortress Lord Feng as you have marched to this distant land, your soldiers and horses must be weary.” [Later] Feng Heng became embarrassed and angry and, calling himself Emperor, he scolded [the Goguryeo King]. The King detained him at Pingguo and then soon moved him to Beifeng. Although Feng Heng originally had looked down on us, he still continued to govern and administer laws as if he were in his own country. The King took away his attendants and made the Crown Prince Wang Ren a hostage. Resenting this, Feng Heng sent an envoy to Song with a memorial asking to be welcomed. The Song [Emperor] Taizu sent the envoy Wang Baiju and others to welcome him and, at the same time, ordered us [Goguryeo] to provide for his expenses for this trip. As the King did not want to have Feng Heng go south [to China], he sent generals Son Su and Ko Ku, and others to kill Feng Heng in Beifeng together with more than ten of his offspring. Baiju, leading more than seven thousand soldiers, attacked Son Su and Ko Ku, killing Ko Ku and capturing Son Su. Because Baiju and others arbitrarily killed people, the King had an official capture and send them back [to Song]. Because Goguryeo was a distant country, Taizu, not wanting to go counter to [Goguryeo] wishes, ordered Baiju and others to be imprisoned and, after a short while, set them free.
So, according to Samguk Sagi, Emperor Taizu also thought war with such a far country would be impractical. In 454, King Jangsu sent tribute to the Song Dynasty, and in 463 he received some titles from Song Shizu, Emperor Xiaowu, so they did build their relations up afterwards. I hope this helps.

The #MeToo movement arrives in the people’s republic
WHEN Luo Xixi was studying for a PhD at Beihang University in Beijing, her supervisor, Chen Xiaowu, asked her to go with him to his sister’s house to look after her plants. Women, she recalled him saying at the time, are innately better at domestic chores. Once in the house, she says, he demanded sex, letting her go only when she pleaded she was a virgin. As she left, he warned her not to tell anyone, claiming he had merely been testing her to see whether she was “a well-mannered student”.
Thirteen years later, in October 2017, Ms Luo was working in Silicon Valley as news spread of a social-media campaign by victims of sexual harassment using the hashtag #MeToo. With a handful of fellow Beihang graduates, she formed a group on WeChat, a messaging app, to discuss the abuse they had suffered. Ms Luo decided to take her case to the university. For three months, the college remained silent while Mr Chen began his own campaign, warning possible accusers not to let themselves become “agents of evil foreign forces”.

On January 1st Ms Luo went public on Weibo, a microblogging site. When Mr Chen denied the claims, Ms Luo published transcripts of him saying things like “Can’t I touch you?” and “Then can you touch me a little?” On January 11th the university ruled that her accusations were true and suspended Mr Chen. Three days later the Ministry of Education stripped him of a prestigious scholarship and demanded he repay the stipend. Thus #MeToo finally arrived in China, claiming its first scalp and establishing a new hashtag with the Chinese characters for “me too”: #WoYeShi.
China’s movement against sexual harassment is very different from those in the West. So far, accusations have all come from universities, not the film business or politics. No celebrities have tweeted #WoYeShi. Almost all the accusations have been made anonymously. Ms Luo’s story stuck out because she used her own name. That was partly, she said, because she lived in America, where she had some protection from the retaliation she might have suffered were she in China.
The movement there faces greater challenges than elsewhere. Tian Dong, a lawyer who specialises in gender-related cases, says there is no legal definition of sexual harassment in China. Chinese companies often ignore harassment in their terms of employment and training. Social attitudes have changed profoundly in the past 30 years, but traditional sexual roles remain entrenched. Women are expected to shut up and look demure. A study by the Guangzhou Gender Centre, an NGO, found that almost 70% of students said they had been harassed. Fewer than 4% said they had, or ever would, report assaults to the police.
Above all, #WoYeShi faces the Communist Party—the most powerful organ of which, the Standing Committee of the Politburo, has never had a female member. Given the party’s ingrained sexism and hostility to any form of activism, the surprising thing is not that #WoYeShi has had less impact than #MeToo. It is how far it has come in a short time. Universities face a wave of accusations. There have been petitions in 68 of them demanding systems for reporting and investigating harassment charges, says Feng Yuan of the Women’s Study Centre at Shantou University.
In 2015 five activists were arrested for trying to campaign against sexual harassment on public transport. Recently, internet censors have been busy deleting #WoYeShi petitions. But the party appears to have changed its tune. In an online commentary, its flagship People’s Daily praised Ms Luo, saying “being brave is the best stance.” By sounding sympathetic, the party may hope that it can forestall demands that could evolve into a broader popular movement.

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 7
Tumblr media
Yeah so I’m crazy. I realized that new episodes were out like an hour ago it’s past midnight and I don’t care. I’m note sure how many out of the 6 episodes came out and how long will I be able to watch before I pass out, but... here I am, ready for some more fun. I’m glad I didn’t have to wait too long to know what will happen with the crazy cousin, if you remember well, last episode she was about to go and try to hurt Feng Wu. And the guys were fighting against Yu Mingye.
Feng Wu manages to injure Feng Liu with the hairpin, which makes the mad woman even more crazy than she already was. She’s not playing anymore and she takes out her whip to fight Feng Wu while Qiu Ling runs aways, probably to ask for help. In their fight, Jun Linyuan and Yu Mingye can hear the screams of a woman. Will they stop the fight to go check it out ? Yu Mingye is unhappy about Jun Linyuan being distracted from their fights and decides to attack first. Meanwhile Feng Wu is barely saved by her mom. Feng Yiran tells Feng Liu to calm down, but she goes even more crazy, I didn’t think it was possible, and burns Feng wu’s herbs and throws the spiritual ring into fire. Feng Wu tries to go get it but her mom stops her and gets down herself on her knees to get back the ring from the fire. And there was a zoom on Feng Wu pester. I’m sure it’s the sword they are looking for. I have no doubts. Feng Wu’s screams still distract Jun Linyuan from his fight and Yu Mingye escapes, so they go check on the situation instead of chasing him. Feng Wu’s mom’s hands are all burnt from the fire which angers much Feng Wu and she’s really mad at Feng Liu so she tries to attack her, but Feng Liu draws a sword out and Feng Wu tries to block it with her bare hands. And either the blade doesn’t cute, either editing was bad here because her hands are not bleeding.
But that’s exactly the moment Zuo Qingluan gets to the Feng house. Oh now Feng Wu’s bleeding. They are right on top of the pester.  Seems like Zuo Qingluan won’t interfere. Blood drips on the pester. I was right. It is the sword. It protects Feng Wu when Feng Liu tries to finish her off. Looks like she possessed by the sword and then she faints. Feng Yiran recognizes the sword as the Phoenix Chant sword. Brother and sister are shook that the sword chose Feng Wu. Feng Liu isn’t ready to give up, but Zuo Qingluan stops her. Now that Jun Linyuan is here to see her... she’s playing nice right... Bleh. They both get scolded badly.
At night, Jun Linyuan pays a visit to Feng Wu. He gives her a pill, maybe it’s to calm her nightmares? He tells her not to try so hard and when he’s trying to check if she’s Feng Xiaowu, Qiu Ling comes back so he leaves and finds the pendant left behind by Yu Mingye. That is trouble coming up. Erf. Why does nobody clean this house more often? Most likely because they’re poor.
Lord Jun has his court having a meeting and his wife is kind of doing all the work for him. They decide to make Gao wei in charge of something, I’m too lazy to check it out again and lord Jun says he’s going to isolate and that they should find someone to replace him while his son hasn’t come back yet. They all suggest his wife which kinds of make him unhappy and she tries to avoid it but all the ministers agree for her to be in charge. They are about to disperse when the old man Xuan Yi spoke to earlier comes in to stop the wedding. Hahaha! I’m so funny! Seems he has something important to say. OMG. That Lord Jun speaks to that old man as if he was senile. I really don’t like Jun Linyuan’s dad. So thirsty for power and narcissist. Anyways, the old man was sent by Jun Linyuan to come and help deal with the palace affairs in his stead. Lord Jun seems very pleased about it and his wife is seeing her power leave her sadly. She’s so bitter about it.
Feng Wu finally wakes up and she only cares about her mom. She really worries about her. And she feels sorry. Her mom tells her to go thank Jun Linyuan but Feng Wu doesn’t really want to. Her mom is really moved that the sword chose her, as it was her dad’s before. She still ends up going and Feng Yiran is begging to be shown mercy upon. He says since nothing too bad happened this time around there’s no need to be too severe. But when they thing they won’t be punished, Jun Linyuan still sanctions them by taking some of their cultivation away. Feng Wu is super happy about it and Feng Xun calls her to come in as Jun Linyuan knew she was listening.
Zuo Qingluan is the first one to welcome Feng Wu, but she definitely feel something is weird and she leaves to get ointment for her mom. Then Feng Wu asks Jun Linyuan how he knew she was outside and he scolds her for laughing at the misfortunes of others and she says she won’t be stingy with him. And calls him ice cube face like when she told Feng Xun she would chose him over the two others back in the frozen forest. Feng Xun laughs and then has a flashback of Feng Xiaowu and Feng Wu is like ooops I messed up big time. So she pretends it’s a usual phrase in the border city.
Feng Wu makes some tea for Zuo Qinglun and calls her goddess Zuo. Zuo Qingluan says she changed a lot from before and Feng Wu is kinf of uncomfortable. She says it’s normal after what she has been through three years ago and Zuo Qingluan asks her if she really forgot everything and praises her to be satisfied with what she has.
Feng Yiran tries to calm down Feng Liu. They want to get the sword. Zuo Qingluan happens to come in that time and she gives them a pill to restore their spiritual energy. She asks them about Feng Wu and confirms she really forfot. And the discussion gives Yiran an idea. They need to marry off Feng Wu, that way she’ll have to let go of the sword as she won’t be part of the Feng family anymore. He goes to meet with Feng Wu’s mom to discuss it.
Feng Wu is trying to use the sword to light candles but it won’t work. Qiu Ling asks Feng Wu what she thinks of Zuo Qingluan, as people agree that she’s the best match for Jun Linyuan. She pretends she doesn’t care about it and then somebody knocks on the door. It’s Zuo Qingluan. She gives her some medicine pills, which I hope she won’t eat and she offers to teach her how to practice swordmanship. I hope she says no. But only episode 8 will tell.
The scene between Zuo Qingluan and her master after she took away Feng Wu’s phoenix blood leaves me kind of wondering what are really her motives. Is she really a bad person? Also she put the blood in a bangle and didn’t use it yet it seems. Can’t wait to see more. I don’t trust her though. And won’t like her easily, that’s for sure.
And that will be all for today, I’m exhausted. I will keep on watching tomorrow morning.

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 4
Tumblr media
I didn’t expected to start watching so late. It’s already 9pm, almost 10pm, but today has been a busy day honestly. I’m now chilling on my sofa, with a glass of milk tea and life is so good. Sheet mask is on, I’m so ready to see who will get the celestial fruit.
The Firecloud Giant Hawk wakes up and the three guys leave Mu Yao behind to take care of Feng Wu, which definitely makes her unhappy. So while the others manage the fight, Mu Yao pushes Feng Wu in the battle. Is she dumb? If she wants to get rid of Feng Wu fine, but do it in a smart way. Pushing her in the middle is increasing the chances that the guys will get hurt, plus it’s her job to watch on Feng Wu so they would blame her too, nothing in her plan is logic. Anyways, all four of them are fighting now and Yu Ming Ye not only wants to have the fruit, he also wants Feng Wu for himself. As she is not watched upon anymore, Feng Wu pretends that she wants to take the fruit for them. She manages to take it though and the cave is starting to collapse while the big birdie goes into Feng Wu’s ring. Then she’s about to get cruched by a rock and beautiful handsome cold hearted Jun Linyuan runs to save her. Did he manage to protect her ???
Yep, he made it. Of course. And he gets the celestial fruit. Yu Ming Ye then comes out to take Feng Wu as hostage. When Ming Ye threatens to kill her to hurt Jun Linyuan, his loveless venom curse activates which makes him say that he doesn’t care if she gets killed or not and everyone is super shocked hearing this. Well, they take her away anyways and Feng Xun is super shocked for what Jun Linyuan said. Feng Xun is super upset that they lost Feng Wu to Yu Ming Ye and even Jun Linyuan seems saddened by her being taken away.
When Fengwu wakes up, Yu Ming Ye touches her face which takes away the make up (yeah and it didn’t fade away when she fell in the pond, but one touch of a finger is enough to make it go away)! She gets scared and asks Yu Ming Ye to save her from Jun Linyuan.  But then we don’t know what she says to him because we go back to Jun Linyuan wondering why would his curse activate again for such an unimportant person. Then Feng Xun bugs him for having left behind Feng Wu into Yu Ming Ye’s hands. They then get a note. If they want to get Feng Wu back, they need to meet him at the lake. My Yao votes that they just move on. Feng Xun is adamant that they should save Feng Wu swho’s part of their group now. In the end, Jun Linyuan sends Feng Xun and Xuan Yi to check it out, while he stays behind with Mu Yao. But he’s kind of restless. Then he notices on the paper that was went the same drawing as the embroidery Feng Wu made on his cape. He decides to join the two other and gives the vruit to Mu Yao. Bad move in my opinion.
Right when Feng Xun and Xuan Yi are in a tight spot fighting Yu Ming Ye, Jun Linyuan comes to battle and get Feng Wu back. But she’s gone to take the celestial fruit, she pretended that they mistreated her and asks Yu Mingye to fight in her defense while she gets the fruit back for him, he only needs to wait for her at the pond. He agreed. Aw. That Yu Ming  Ye, I like him. But when he tells all of this, Jun Linyuan shws him the letter. They were both tricked by Feng Wu.
And Feng Wu made it out back to the billage. Without any of them while de frozen forest is supposed to be epic dangerous. Omg. That’s awesome. Oh. Okay. It was the Hawk or either the ring. Anyhow, she’s really happy that she got the celestial fruit.
Mu Yao won’t wake up so Feng Xun suggests that they go ask help to find Feng Wu... well Feng Xiaowu, to Feng Wu herself as she is Jun Linyuan’s fiancée. He doesn’t seem so thrilled about it.
Feng Wu takes the fruit to Old Ba so he can finally make the pill for her. It will take three days and three nights. She offers to cook for him but he wants to ask her first if she saw Jun Linyuan. He asks her if she doesn’t have any feeling for him and she says she doesn’t but he is convinced of the opposite. She goes first to take a shower.
On their way to Feng Wu’s place, Mu Yao receives a note from Zuo Qingluan. She asks her to come over and join her. Well she won’t have to meet Feng Wu and Feng Xun is quite happy about her leaving. WEll I agree because she’s really annoying.
Why is she taking so long to go back home? Don’t be so iddle. Her cousin is still there looking for something that can’t be found. Oh they are looking for some sort of Pheonix chant sword, but it’s not there. Mom is so bad ass. The sword is supposed to have fly back there the old house but they have no idea where it could be nor do they care for the business of the Feng family. Seeing how they are bullying her mom, Feng Wu’s really unhappy. So she comes in to serve the tea and spills it on her cousin’s face. Then he starts flirting with her and she tells him the sword is hidden in one of the flower terrace of the old house. She just wanted to play a trick on them, because in fact she doesn’t know.
Awww. Yu Mingye saves the boss lady of a tea house from episode one’s fatty. Yay! He asks fatty if he have seen this girl on a drawing. WEll it’s Feng Wu of course.
And that’s the end of episode four. Will they recognize her when she’s herself and not disguised with the pearl and ashes powder? I can’t wait for her to get her powers back and see what wil happen after that. How will she wake up her master, how will they repair the energy barrier and save the mortal realm from the danger that will befall on them. And... I had to say it, but Feng Wu is just so pretty. I didn’t know this actress at all, but she’s gorgeous. See ya!

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 6
Tumblr media
So yes. I am weak. I decided to watch one more episode ather the cleaning. I mean... after watching something like this I will surely have sweet dreams. Maybe meet with Feng Xu or something, who knows.
Minister Bi reveals there are words that Xiaowu went to see Old Ba. He then offers them to stay at his place as he prepared nice rooms for them, but Jin Linyuan says it’s not necessary. Feng Wu Wants to protest but they decide to leave before she can say anything more.
Are we finally going to know who is this Zhao Ge girl ? Seems she was from the same school as Qingluan, but it’s not the case anymore. Zuo Qingluan wants her to come back, she would even beg their master, but Zhao Ge says it’s fine. While Mu Yao And Zuo Qingluan go take care of something, Zhao Ge leaves a note saying she’s going back to the capital by herself. Mu Yao and Zuo Qingluan are going to go to the border city.
Back in said city, Jun Linyuan and co go to see old Ba who’s still being threatened by Yu Ming Ye. Jun Linyuan forces the door open, but there is nobody inside. Then he notices the hand print left by Yu Ming Ye earlier to scare poor Old Ba. Our little prince is so smart and makes their favourite opponent come out. Again, during the fight yu Ming Ye uses Feng wu to threaten them and again Jun linyuan’s venom is acting up, but not as much since he claims her back. Yu Ming Ye escapes but Jun Linyuan says not to chase him, they need to find the celestial fruit. They ask old Ba about Feng Xiaowu, but he has a little trouble lying about it. Well in the end they leave because they heard enough and Jun Linyuan knocks on Feng Wu’s forehead. I can’t understand this guy. As they leave, Jun Linyuan’s chest hurts again and Feng Wu is like wow this guy is a male version of Lin Daiyu, which is extremely funny. Well to me. Lin Daiyu is a character from the Dream of the Red Pavilion and she’s always sick.
Feng Wu treats Jun Linyuan’s pain with acupuncture once they are back home. When she takes his pulse she feels there’s something unsusual and Feng Xun says it might be the loveless venom she made him eat back then. So she realizes that when he said she wasn’t one of them to Yu Ming Ye it was probably the curse.
Xuan Yi meets with and old man to tell him something but those screen writers won’t let us hear it DDD:
While she’s making medicine at night, Yu Ming Ye gets in her room to ask about Feng Xiao wu. He thinks their smell is similar. Is he a dog or what% But he says Feng Wu isn’t as pretty as Feng Xiaowu. They are all so dumb... But she tells him it seems Jun Linyuan found Xiaowu, so he should go and save her then. And he dropped a charm while leaving and now Jun Linyuan is finally being smart and suspects  that Feng Wu might have informed the darknight court of their whereabouts maybe and that she’s Feng Xiaowu. You’re half right... So he takes her out to look for Feng Xiaowu and she almost exposes herself.
From afar, Yu Mingye looks at them and a town’s person tells him he doesn’t stand a chance with the fifth lady. She’s loved by many as she’s nice and pretty. He follows them while Jun Linyuan tries to expose her.
Feng Liu th crazy cousin is getting more and more greedy, she even wants the pheonix chant sword for herself now and to become the next head of the family so she would be a match for Jun Linyuan.
Yu Ming Ye tries to go and save Xiaowu from the mean Jun Linyuan but both Feng Xun and Xuan Yi are waiting for him. Non-epic fight scene. Jun Linyuan joins at that moment too.
When Feng Wu comes back home, crazy cousin is ready to attack her and she wants to scar her face so Jun Linyuan won’t like her anymore. They are always that crazy, right? Side girls in dramas are really scary honestly. Qiu Ling tries to protect Feng Wu, which makes Feng Liu even more angry and crazy. Feng Wu fights her back with a pin takin from Qiu Ling’s hair.
Oh!!! EPIC FIGHTING SCENE! Nothing too crazy but the coordination there between Feng Xun, Xuan Yi and Jun Linyuan was awesome to look at.
And then it’s the end of episode 6. And no more episode. So I have no choice but to go to bed. However this is pretty annoying because this cliffhanger is killing me. I want to know what is going to happen next. This drama is really good seriously. Even though many things in the plot aren’t new, it still has somme freshness. The story really is addictive, the visuals are gorgeous, the OST is enchanting, the acting and dubbing are good. So far, 10/10!

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 9
Tumblr media
Sooooo! In last episode, Feng Wu was exposed as Feng Xiaowu and finally ate the nine transformations spiritual restauration pill, but her master is still asleep. We already knew Yu Mingye and Jun Linyuan have feelings for her and there’s no doubt Feng Yiran will try to have her marry him to get the phoenix sword back?
The queen seem rather upset about the gifts. Is she Jun Linyuan’s mom? I feel like she’s not. Why does she seem so pissed?
Jun Linyuan comes to sse Feng Wu. He bought her a comb, but he pretends it’s not a gift and he’s just so adorable trying to pretend he doesn’t like her even a tiny bit. She comes closer and asks him if he gave her that so she’ll think of him everytime she brushes her hair. She’s so close haha. He runs away pretending she didn’t hit right on spot. I just can’t. This guys is just wayyyyyyy too cute. She looks really happy about this gift.
Qiu Ling is really unhappy and when the guys see her, she tells them that Feng Yiran threatened Feng Wu with her mom so she had to follow him. Jun Linyuan happens to hear and he storms away. As I thought Feng Yiran tries to marry her off to young master Bi. But then Jun Linyuan comes in and claims her as his future wife as the engagement isn’t cancelled. That is so adorable! He holds his hand to her and takes her away. Minister Bi is super upset at Feng Yiran. Jun Linyuan is really mad and drags her away. She tries to free her hand because everyone can see them and it’s unproper. Then he kabedon her against a wall. THE FEELS!!! My cat also approves of this as she started purring louder at this specific scene. They fight. NO! Aw. He’s so in love with her.
Yu Mingye can’t make himself go back, he doesn’t want to leave Feng wu behind. So his underling uncle is giving advice now. OMG. i love this. I really like Yu Mingye.
The Queen goes and sees Qingluan teaching vilalgers ways to cultivate so the demonic beasts wouldn’t be a problem anymore.
Feng Liu comes again at Feng Wu but this time around she came teach her a lesson and won’t be bullied anymore. That Feng Yiran gets punished is none of her business. He just shouldn’t have mess with Hun Linyuan like that. Then she makes her say that she doesn’t like Jun Linyuan on purpose as she saw he was there. She just wanted to get rid of her. Her main goal in life isn’t to find love. She wants to bring her master back first. Feng Xun asks Qiu Ling if Feng Wu wouldn’t want to be a cook at his place. Or better be Jun Linyuan. Then Yu Mingye comes with flowers and the cheesiest line for Feng Wu. He asks Qiu Ling to tell her for him. Jun Linyuan throws away the flowers Yu Mingye brought.
Feng Xun is helping Qiu Ling in the kitchen and she unadvertly tells him that Feng Wu likes Jun Linyuan. My poor baby is heart broken once again.
It’s time Jun Linyuan goes back to the capital. He asks Feng Wu waht she thinks of the capital and she says she has no reason to go there. He leaves angry and Feng Wu is completely at lost. Date Feng Xun instead. He’s cuter. I’m just kidding. I love our Jun Linyuan. Then she bumps into Feng Liu who made some tea and wants Feng Wu to taste it to tell her if the taste is right. She has no choice in the end but to say yes. But when she drinks, she puts it down fast because it’s disgusting and she ruches back into her oom. What poison that crazy girl put in that drink?
When he goes back to him room, Jun Linyuan finds a drunk Feng Xun. He tells Jun Linyuan that he knows from Qiuling that Feng Wu likes him. He’s so happy about that he’s going to drink too hahaha! Xuan Yi is like what did I do to deserve such friends...
Feng Wu is starting to feel unwell and she’s suspicious of Feng Liu. No kidding... Like who else? Xuan Yi is now drunk too and telling Feng Xun he would attract more girls if he studied more. He’ll teach and find a better one for him. Feng Xun says there’s no better one than Feng Wu, but then she likes Jun Linyuan and he can’t steal his friends’ girl!
OMG. I didn’t expect that, but they drugged Feng Wu so the fatty could sneak in. So disgusting. She’s fighting against it. OMG. Her family is awful. Letting someone rape her. Meanwhile the three of them are drunk and Xuan Yi dares Jun Linyuan to go propose to Feng Wu right now. I like that they are not the perfect kids never drinking. I just hope there is no misunderstanding... Because they love doing this in dramas. Just kick their ass please. Feng Wu manages to push him away and Jun Linyuan arrives right then. Feng Wu is so scared that when she feels Jun Linyuan touching her hand, she reacts quickly to immobilize hi. She’s kind of surprised to see him there. He tries to comfort her and his loveless venom acts up again. He hugs her tight. He fights so hard the venom to tell her comforting words that he passes out. I guess he’ll spend the night there in her bed.
Yup he did. They wake up next to each other. He’s kind of freaking out. He tries to get up without waking her up. Does he remember what happened even? He was drunk after all. Well he wakes her up and she’s panicked for a second. He apologizes and he promises he will marry her promptly and take responsibility. He’s so cute, he doesn’t even dare to look at her. Well I’m all for that wedding.
And it’s the end of episode 9. I have to watch episode 10 now. No choice. I want to know what happens and what he remembers.

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 5
Tumblr media
Feng Wu managed to get the celestial fruit and in three days and three nights the spiritual restauration pill will be ready for her. But will she be able to eat it before Yu Ming Ye finds her? And how will be her meeting with Jun Linyuan and the others as herself? Let’s about that right away.
Little fatty says he seems to have seen that face, but he doesn’t know her. At the same moment, Jun Linyuan and the others are welcomed by minister Bi, fatty’s dad. He prepared a feast for them but they decline the offer. They also ask about Feng Wu with a portrait.
Feng Wu sneezes two times, meaning people are talking about her. She keeps on tricking her cousin about the sword, she says there’s also a poem to decode to discover it. She’s so sneaky.
Mu Yao wants to leave for the border city with Zuo Qingluan (who’s very unhappy that Jun Linyuan is going to the Feng’s house), but she wants to stay and look for Zhao Ge first.
When Jun Linyuan gets to the house, Feng Wu is panicked. Her cousins come out first and he introduces his sister and Feng Xun is relieved to know that she’s not Feng Wu, for a second he thought she grew to be not as pretty as before. She tries to escape before they see her, but unfortunately Liu Qing rips her dress and draws attention. Woops. She tried to hide her face with her handkerchief, but even so all three boys are mesmerized by her beauty. Then the scene is just so beautiful. The wind blows away her handkerchief and Jun Linyuan catches it. It ends when he gives it back to her. This gave me so much feels. My heart is beating so fast. Feng Xun comes to have a closer look on Feng Wu’s face and she apologize as she will leave now since she’s used to live in reclusion. However it takes time before Jin Linyuan is ready to go too. The cousin is angry at Feng Wu for making them leave.
Feng Xun is surprised at how much Feng Wu changed and how boring she is now. While walking on the street, they hear old ladies talkking about Feng Wu. They are worried about her because they haven’t seen her in a while and they fear the other family member will bully her. So Feng Xun goes and ask them. They get angry when he says that she’s boring. Then Jun Linyuan asks the ladies who’s the most famous person to make pills in town. Woops.... Let’s hope Old Ba isn’t the one...
Feng Wu runs into panic to see Old Ba. Seems he’s the best because as soon as she tries to make him hurry because Jun Linyuan came to town, the trio gets in. She says she’s here and pretending to be like this because they’re poor and thanks to Old Ba’s medicinal knowledge, she can make a living for her mother and her. Jun linyuan is just okay go on with your act while Feng xun is getting all worked up. Xuan Yi is like... what the hell, this is so fake. She asks him why are they here and they came to pick her up as they decided to stay at her place that night.
They get into a very dusty old room and little maid gets some money from the cousin because he doesn’t want to lose face. Jun Linyuan still decides to stay in that room. Later at night Feng Wu comes in with a bunch of food she made. Feng Xun and Xuan Yi starts eating first. Until Jun Linyuan decides to come and join them. He makes Feng Wu help him put on the apron. It’s so cute. He likes the food, but pretends it’s just okay haha. While Feng Xun is just stuffing himself like crazy. He’s so cute holding his bowl like that. I am major crushing on that guy, seriously. He likes the food so much that he wants to it everydat and asks Jun Linyuan if they can stay there for a few days. Feng Wu is like hell no. And then Feng Xun says don’t you think Feng Wu’s way of speaking is similar to Feng Xiaowu? Feng Wu is like please help. Jun Linyuan decides to stay over.
Somebody disturbs Old Ba at night. When he opens the door, it’s Yu Ming Ye.
Feng Wu asked Qiu Ling to put mice in the boy’s room as Feng Xun is most scared of mice. But I think Jun Linyuan saw her. Anyways she hesitates as she listens to them talk. Feng Xun is half angry at Xiaowu, but he doesn’t believe she was that kind of person to steal the fruit from them. But Xuan Yi wonders about why a girl without cultivation would want the celestial fruit. Maybe there’s someone behind her?  Jun Linyuan remains silent. I’m starting to wonder if he knew all along that Xiaowu is Feng Wu? Feng Xun says maybe there is someone else and they are accusing her falsely. Jun Linyuan thinks back of when she tended to his wound, which makes hi heart ache and he says not to talk about it anymore and to be nice to Feng Wu as she was probably bullied for a while. In the end Qiu Ling can’t bring herself to release the mice inside.
Yu Ming Ye is ready to make Old Ba talk. He used him all night and will keep doing so until he gets what he wants to know.
Zuo Qingluan finally finds again Zhao Ge. She’s a clumsy girl. But I don’t think we will know why Zuo Qingluan looks for her so badly in this episode.
The people who have seen Feng Xiaowu saw her go and see Old Ba as said minister Bi to Jun Linyuan.Feng Wu might be in trouble but we will only know in next episode. I will do some cleaning before deciding if I watch episode 6 today or tomorrow. It’s already past midnight...
We are already 5 episodes in and so far I have nothing to say about this drama except perhaps that I’m not impressed at all by the fighting scenes which are usually my favourite in xianxia dramas. But this one is more like... a beautiful one. Money was spent elsewhere than on stunts. Sill worth of my time so far.

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 3
Tumblr media
Okay, one last episode. Let’s get a glass of water, wash our face and apply a mask and let’s go. Okayyyyy! Now we are readyyy! Let’s gooo!
Last episode ended with Mu Yao trying to frame Feng Wu by letting Jun Linyuan believe she pushed her on the ground. That is so childish. I don’t think Jun Linyuan would actually buy this. But he doesn’t need to meddle, because our Feng Wu isn’t a lady who lets people bully her easily. So she uses her medicinal knowledge as a pretext to heal her, and she massages to hurt her on purpose. Because she doesn’t like the pain, Mu Yao promptly gets up. And runs away, angry at Feng Wu that her plan (stupid) didn’t work.
However, our prince isn’t too happy either with Fen Wu pranking Mu Yao and he scolds her that if she does something like that again, he’ll leave her alone in there. To gain his favour back, she decides to treat his wound, but doing so, it activates the loveless venom, which causes him to have pain in his chest and he moves away brutally from her. He gets away for a little and wonders why the venom acted up. When he went to Penglai, they couldn’t cure him from that because the only way to do so is through the tear of someone who loves him and would be willing to die for him.
Feng Xun is little down because he feels like everybody likes Jun Linyuan better. He never got any praise and is always in the shadow of his two friends. However, Feng Wu cheer him up. I really like Feng Xun, he’s such a sweet character. I just don’t hope for a love triangle for them, because it’s going to break my heart, because I will ship them. Like, I want her to end up with Jun Linyuan actually, but I would like for Feng Xun to have his happiness with her too. And you know what’s worse than second lead syndrome? It’s second lead syndrome while shipping the main couple together. BECAUSE YOU CAN’T EVEN BE SPITEFUL.
Jun Linyuan bumps into Yu Ming Ye and gives him a pill that will suppress his spiritual energy for twelve hours. They fight a little, but verbally and Jun Linyuan ends up hanging Yu Ming Ye for his minions to find him. He won’t let him find the fruit first. I know Yu Ming Ye is in the bad guys’ team, but I am feeling this character is going to be interesting. I hope my intuition is not wrong. Not long after that, Feng Wu comes over, looking for Jun Linyuan. Seeing Yu Ming Ye hanging, she decides to save him, but when he moves, she runs away. His vision is blurry, he couldn’t see her properly, but he thinks he saw a goddess. Well, not exactly a goddess. The actual translation for that is fairy, but not as in western tales fairies. This kind of fairy is for a very beautiful immortal human. Someone with a generous heart. When she comes back to sleep, she leaves a gourd next to Jun Linyuan, no idea what is in there. And he protects her from bugs when she sleeps. But... How are there any mosquitos in there? Like... it’s the frozen forest and it’s cold? Bug are strong over there.
The next day while they go on with their journey, they get separated when evil spirits attack  them. Feng Wu and Jun Linyuan quickly end up bumping into each other. That Feng Wu is really clumsy. She loses her balance and instead of just catching her, he catches her and rolls under her, falling with her. I feel that was unnecessary. Oh. That’s because they needed to add the accidental kiss while falling. Classic. Following that, to lighten the mood, she tries to make him talk, but he’s not really talkative and asks him questions about the celestial fruit. She’s wondering if it wouldn’t be a little mean to take it away from him while he saved her so many times.
Zuo Qingluan gets to a village which is harassed by a beast. The villagers say that a female cultivator came before, but she couldn’t manage to win over the beast. Zuo Qingluan wonders if it was Zhao Ge. I can’t wait to see who is that Zhao Ge.
Jun Linyuan decides that they should take a rest for the night as the fog is too dense, they’ll just get more lost by going on. Feng Wu is kind of scared by the spookiness of the forest and makes Jun Linyuan sing for her. But he’s a terrible singer, it sounds pretty awful. Well it was a good idea because the three others heard him and then will be able to find him, but still. Then, Feng Wu makes him stop singing, in case it calls out for the wolf. Well it does worse as a charm spirit comes into play. Jun Linyuan fights them to protect Feng Wu, but then he faints from watching in their eyes. Feng Wu is saved by her spiritual ring and the firecloud giant hawk gets into. It looked more like an illusion of it though. And right then the others find them. They set a camp for the night.
When Xiaowu is asleep, she hears a voice calling for her from the ring. She gets into the ring and tries to wake up her master, but because he gave her the rest of his phoenix blood, he can’t wake up. The firecloud hawk was actually sent by her master to protect the fruit. It’s now in the form of a parrot which has a very annoying voice. It explains to her the energy barrier is broken now and that she needs to get the fruit to regain her powers and after wake up her master to save the world. The parrot will help her get the fruit and tell what to do next.
At home, Feng Wu’s mom isn’t eating anymore. Qiu Ling tries to make her at least have a bite when somebody starts knocking at the door. She’s sure Feng Wu is back, but it’s actually people from the Feng family looking for Feng Wu. It looks like trouble is coming.
Both the darknight court people and our little friends get to the celestial fruit at the same time. And we will only know in episode 4 who will get the fruit.
This is consistent in being good so far. I’m glad I was recruited to translate this because otherwise I might have not watched this and that would have been a shame. I really enjoy this show. So beautiful. I’m looking forward next episode, tomorrow or the day after that, we’ll. For now, let’s just enjoy the ending theme. Good you all!

Annals of Shenwu of Qi, Part 2
[From BQS01]
[Putai 1, 3 February 531 – 22 January 532]
Wei's 1st Year of Putai, 2nd Month [4 March – 2 April 531], Shenwu went from the army to stay at Xindu. Gao Qian and Feng Longzhi opened the gates so as to wait on [him]. Thereupon he possessed Ji province. That Month, Erzhu Dulü deposed Yuan Ye, and established Emperor Jiemin, wishing to bridle and halter Shenwu.
3rd Month [3 April – 1 May], he then reported to Emperor Jiemin, and ennobled Shenwu as King of Bohai, and summoned him to make him enter for audience. Shenwu declined.
4th Month, guimao [5 May], also additionally conferred on him Great Acting Tribunal of the Easter Circuit, and First Grade Chieftain of the Garrison People.
Pang Cangying came running from Taiyuan. Shenwu used him as Gentleman of the Acting Tribunal. Soon after used him as Inspector of An province.
Shenwu, since he had gone East of the Mountains, he raised soldiers and repaired armour, and forbid intrusions and plundering. The hundred families returned their hears. He therefore pretended there was a letter, telling that Erzhu Zhao wanted to use the people of the Six Garrisons to pair with the Qihu as private troops, the multitudes were all anxious and resentful. He also had Bing province's token, and summoned troops to chastise the Buluoji.
He sent out ten thousand people, and was about to dispatch them. Sun Teng and Wei Jing were requesting to stop for five days, they did like this twice. Shenwu personally saw them off in the suburbs, he wiped away tears to clasp them in parting. People all shouted their grief, the sound of weeping moved the ground. Shenwu then explained to them, saying:
We are all lost village guests, properly similar to a single family. [If you] unthinkingly are going uo then you will be recruited and summoned. [Those] who have already gone straight westward will die, [those] left behind with the army at the appointed time also will die, [those] matched with the peopl of state also will die, why is it like this!
The multitudes said:
There is only to make rebellion, that is all.
Shenwu said:
To rebel is truly an urgent plan, [we] must push forward one man to be the leader.
The multitudes wanted to serve Shenwu. Shenwu said:
Your home districts are difficult to manage, did [you] not see Ge Rong? Though a multitude of s million, he had no punishments or laws, in the end he was himself turned to dust and wiped away. Now to use me as the leader will be different from before. [You will] not get to cheat the Han boys, [you will] not get to violate army orders. [If you] living and dying rely on me, then it is possible. If not so, and [you] are not able to do it, you will be the laugh of Under Heaven.
The multitudes all bowed down, dead or alive only to follow the instructions. Shenwu said that if so it could not be avoided.
Next day, he hammered an ox and feasted the soldiers, and to explain thereby thoughts of chastising the Erzhu. Feng Longzhi advanced to say:
[This is] a single moment in a thousand years, all of Heaven favours [it] considerably.
Shenwu said:
To chastise the thieves is great obedience, to aid the times is a great legacy. I, though [I] have no martial ability, will hence die to support it. Who dares to chide it!
6th Month, gengzi [1 July], he founded righteousness at Xindu, but still had not made evident him turning on the Erzhu clan.
When Li Yuanzhong together with Gao Qian pacified Yin province, they cut off Erzhu Yuzheng's head, and came to pay visit. Shenwu touched his chest and said:
Today rebellion is decided.
He therefore used Yuanzhong as Inspector of Yin province.
At that time, the troops' power had been raised, he therefore held aloft and petitioned descriptions of the crimes of the Erzhu clan. Shilong and others secreted the petition and did not pass it through.
8th Month [28 August – 26 September], Erzhu Zhao attacked and captured Yin province. Li Yuanzhong came running.
Sun Teng since, he was separated and cut off from the Imperial Court, and did not have the power to establish the Son Heaven, then there was nothing by which multitudes' expectations were bound together.
10th Month, renyin [31 October], he received the King of Zhangwu, Rong's son, the Grand Warden of Bohai, Lang, as August Emperor, the year titled Zhongxing [“Middle Flourishing”]. This was the Deposed Emperor.
At that time, Dulü and Zhongyuan stayed at Yangping. Erzhu Zhao met up with them. Shenwu employed Dou Tai's strategy, and let loose converted spies. Dulü and Zhongyuan did not battle and turned back. Shenwu then defeated Zhao at Guang'e.
11th Month [25 November – 23 December], he attacked Ye. The Inspector of Xiang province, Liu Dan, encircled in the city, firmly defended. Shenwu raised an earth mountain, and dug out a path in the ground, now and again erecting great pillars. At a single time burnt them, and the walls sunk into the ground. Ma Xiang at the time was Prefect of Tangyin. Shenwu shouted to him, saying:
Chief Ma!
Xiang was ashamed and fled.
[Yongxi 1, 23 January 532 – 9 February 533]
1st Year of Yongxi [“Eternal Splendour”], 1st Month, renwu [8 February], he took Ye City and occupied it.
The Deposed Emperor advanced Shenwu to Great Imperial Chancellor, Pillar of State Great General, and Grand Master. At that time, Qing province established righteousness. The Great Chief Controller, Cui Lingzhen, and the Great Chief Controller, Geng Xiang, both dispatched messengers to revert and adhere. The Acting on the Affairs of Fen province, Liu Gui, abandoned the city and came to surrender.
Intercalary 3rd Month [21 April – 19 May], Erzhu Tianguang from Chang'an, Zhao from Bing province, Dulü from Luoyang and Zhongyuan from Dong commandery met together at Ye, their multitudes were declared to be 200 000. They counted on the Huan River and the army. Jiemin used Zhangsun Chengye as Great Acting Tribunal with overall supervision over them.
Shenwu ordered Feng Longzhi to defend Ye, and himself set out and halted at Zimo. At the time the horses were not fully 2 000, and the infantry did not reach 30 000, the multitudes were few and did not resist. Therefore at Hanling he made circular formation, and joined together cattle and donkeys so as to block the return road. Hence the generals and soldiers all had aspirations of dying, on four sides they hurried to strike them.
Erzu Zhao called Shenwu to account for betraying him. Shenwu said:
Originally when [we] joined forces, [we] together assisted the royal house. Now, where is the Emperor?
Zhao said:
In the Yong'an era [528 – 530], he unjustly murdered the Pillar of Heaven. I am repaying the enemy, that is all.
Shenwu said:
I in former days personally heard the Pillar of Heaven's plans. You was standing before the doorway. How [do you] get to say [he] was not rebellious? Moreover, when a lord to kill his subject, what is there to repay? At the present day it is righteous to break off [with you].
Then he engaged him in battle, and greatly defeated him
Erzhu Zhao addressed Murong Shaozong with imploring heart, saying:
[I] did not employ Your Excellency's words, and so it came to this!
He wanted a quick flight. Shaozong turned around the banners and sounded the horns, gathered and assembled the scattered soldiers. He made good the army's appearance, and then went up west. Gao Jishi pursued the fleeing with seven cavalry, he went passed Yema Ridge, and came upon Zhao. Gao Ang looked at him from afar, but did not see [him]. He wept and said:
[I] grieve for my younger brother!
Late in the night, Jishi returned, blood filled his sleeves.
Husi Chun through force marches had previously occupied the He Bridge.
Earlier, 1st Year of Putai, 10th Month [26 October – 24 November 531], the Year Star [Jupiter], the Shimmering Deceiver [Mars], the Quelling Star [Saturn], and the Great White [Venus] gathered in the Turtle Beak and Triaster [constellations], their colour were very bright. The Grand Clerk divined and said there would be a king flourishing. At that time Shenwu was rising up at Xindu. Reaching this point he then routed Zhao and others.
4th Month [20 May – 18 June], Husi Chun apprehended Tianguang and Dulü, and sent them off to Luoyang. Zhangsun Chengye dispatched the Chief Controllers Jia Xianzhi and Zhang Huan to enter Luoyang. They apprehended Shilong and Yanbo, and beheaded them. Zhao ran to Bing province. Zhongyuan ran to Liang# province, and thereupon died there. At the time the fell vermin had been eliminated, the Imperial Court was celebratory and content.
Earlier, in the previous month before the battle was fought, there was a native of Zhangwu, Zhang Shao who in the middle of the night he suddenly encountered several cavalry about to pass over [?] the walls, until one great general was in front. He directed Shao to be the army's guide towards Ye, and said those who aided and accepted the instructions would remove the cruel thieves. Shao turned around to look at them, the troops could not be counted, they were orderly, fast, and without sound. When they was about to arrive at Ye, they then let go of him. Reaching the day of the battle, the people in the Erzhu clan's armies saw deployed outside soldiers and horses convering from four directions. Perhaps godly aid.
Soon after Shenwu arrived at Luoyang, he deposed the Jiemin and the Zhongxing Ruler, and established Xiaowu. When Xiaowu had taken the throne, he conferred on Shenwu Great Imperial Chancellor, Pillar of Heaven Great General, Grand Master, and Hereditary Inspector of Ding province, and increased his fief to a combined total of 150 000 households. Shenwu declined Pillar of Heaven, and reduced the households to 50 000.
On renchen [17 June], he returned to Ye. The Wei Emperor bid farewell at Qianfu Mountain. He held his hand and then they parted.
7th Month, renyin [26 August], Shenwu led the host for a northern attack on Erzhu Zhao. Feng Longzhi told him:
Palace Attendants Husi Chun, Heba Sheng, Jia Xianzhi, and others in the past served the Erzhu, [and then] all of them turned around and bit [them]. Now they are in the Imperial Capital, to favour and rely [on them] is surely to build disaster and discord.
Shenwu very much considered him correct. He therefore returned Tianguang and Dulü to the Imperial City, and beheaded them.
Thereupon he entered from Fukou. Erzhu Zhao plundered Jinyang, and went north to guard Xiurong. Bing province was pacified. Shenwu, since Jinyang was protected on four sides, therefore established the Great Imperial Chancellor's Office and settled his dwellings there. When Erzhu Zhao had arrived in Xiurong, he divided the troops to defend the strategic points, and set out to enter to rob and seize.
Shenwu spread noise about chastising him, the host set out and then stopped several times, Zhao's thinking became negligent. Shenwu guessed that he at the beginning of the year would hold a feast, and dispatched Dou Tai with finest cavalry to race towards him, in a day and a night they travelled 300 li. Shenwu supported them with the great army.
[Yongxi 2, 10 February 533 – 29 January 534]
2nd Year, 2nd Month [11 March – 9 April], Dou Tai soon arrived at Erzhu Zhao's courtyard. Because of the feast, the army people were resting and careless, and did not see Tai's army, they were surprised and ran. He pursued and routed them at Chihong Peak. Zhao hanged himself. Shenwu personally presided over a substantial burial for him. Murong Shaozong, with Erzhu Rong's wife and children and the remaining multitudes guarded themselves at Wutu City. They surrendered. Shenwu, due to his righteousness in the past, waited on him with considerable lavishness.
At Shenwu's entry into Luo, Erzhu Zhongyuan's section subordinates, the Chief Controllers, Qiao Ning and Zhang Ziqi [came] from Huatai to revert to the instructions. Shenwu, since they had been aiding chaos, and moreover several had turn over and around, beheaded both of them. Husi Chun because that on the inside could not calm himself. Therefore, he and the King of Nanyang, Baoju, the General of Martial Guards, Yuan Pi, and Wei Guang and Wang Sizheng sowed discord between Shenwu and the Wei Emperor. The Retainer Yuan Shibi also memorialised that Shenwu when accepting directives was greatly disrespectful. For these reasons, the Wei Emperor was in two minds with [?] Heba Yue.
Earlier, in the time of Xiaoming [r. 515 – 528], downwards from Luo a pair of cymbals struck each other, a song told about it, saying:
When the copper cymbal strikes the iron cymbal, the House of Yuan's era is about to end.
Those who were fond of affairs considered the two cymbals[ba拔] to speak of the Tuoba [拓拔] and Heba [賀拔], and said it was an omen they together were about decline and fail.
At the time, the Minister of Works, Gao Qian secretly reported to Shenwu, and told him about the Wei Emperor's duplicity. Shenwu sent a sealed submission. The Wei Emperor killed him. He also dispatched the Inspector of Dongxu province, Pan Shaoye, to secretly direct the Grand Warden of Changle, Pang Cangying to order him to kill his younger brother Ang. Ang had previously heard his older brother had died. He used a lance to stab the pillar, hidden strong soldiers apprehended Shaoye on the road. He found the written directive in the collar of his long robes, and came running. Shenwu embraced his head, wept and said:
The Son of Heaven has unjustly murdered the Minister of Works!
He hurriedly made to use white military pennants to recompense his family adherents.
At the time Qian's second younger brother Shen was at Guang province, he was strict and stern in government affairs, also his accompanying section subordinates took and accepted [?]. The Wei Emperor sent to replace him. Zhen heard about the difficulties, and wanted to run to Liang. His adherents said:
Your Excellency's house's achievements are weighty, surely it is not [as good?] as [you] brothers catching up with each other.
He therefore wrecked his clothes and pushed forward a deer chariot to return home to Bohai. He happened to meet the messengers, that likewise came running. Hence there was a crack between the Wei Emperor and Shenwu.
The Azhiluo miscreants during the Zhengguang era [520 - 525] and earlier, had often declared themselves vassals. Since then the Wei court had had many affairs, and all of them rebelled. Shenwu dispatched messengers to recruit and receive them. They readily adhered earnestly. Before this, a decree, since the robbers and thieves had been pacified, abolished the Acting Tribunals. Reaching this point, since the [those with] different customs were reverting in surrender, again conferred on Shenwu Great Acting Tribunal. In the following moments their settlements were allotted.
Shenwu often gave them grain and silk, opinion considered it to be expenditure to no effect and without benefit, Shenwu did not agree, he consoled and comforted like before. Their chieftains, Tuchen and others [?], felt the kindness, all followed where he pointed and signalled. They saved Cao Nie, and took Moqi Shouluoyu, greatly collecting their employment.

Biographies of the Di, Part 1
[From Songshu 099. The Di氐 people lived on the western frontier, mixed in with Qiang and Jin people. This chapter of the Songshu is actually a brief history of the Yang clan who founded the state of Chouchi, centred on the old Wudu commandery, after the break-up of Western Jin. A very similar text is also found in Weishu 101. The section translated here covers the history of Chouchi from its founding down to 425 AD.]
